Also, It would be cool if we have various m3u lists and have the option to choose/assign each m3u list for each user.. Example. In user settings we can choose which library to give them for VOD so this shouldnt be hard enough to do it for live tv too no? USER 1 - Playlist 1 - Playlist 2 - Playlist 3 USER 2 - Playlist 3 USER 3 - Playlist 1 - Playlist 3 Etc etc.... *** Delete this message from another topic I opened because I posted it by accident there2 points

No one wants to pay for anything and no one wants ads. Yet, everyone wants a job that they are paid for and no one seems to see the conflict there... Just food for thought.2 points

You're joking, right? In your 1 minute log there were 56 different IP addresses hitting your server.2 points

TheTVDB now supports more alternative orders than just Aired/Absolute/DVD. Can Emby query these additional orders and add them as options? Two examples of shows I've seen this used are Re:Zero which has a "Director's Cut" display order and Money Heist which has a "Netflix" order. https://thetvdb.com/series/re-zero-starting-life-in-another-world https://thetvdb.com/series/la-casa-de-papel1 point

At the moment, if I assign artwork to Animation in a MOVIE library, then the TV library also has the same image for Animation. Id like my MOVIES library genre artwork to have different artwork to the TV one.1 point

I am doing that now. I don't have Kodi installed on my PC, so I'm installing it and setting it up. I've reviewed the advancedsettings.xml files on my LibreElec client, and as best as I can tell they are default files. I have not modified them in anyway. I've also disabled path substitution in E4K. That did not resolve the issue. E4K next-gen .25 on my rpi4 LibreElec installation works perfectly fine. But .26/.27 does not. Weird. I'll report back after getting Kodi setup on my PC.1 point

In the Albumartist, and Artist field you need to separate each artist with a semi colon If you are using Musicbrainz tags, make sure they are all separated with semicolons as well in the musicbrainz_artistid or musicbrainz_albumartistid1 point

This behaviour hasn't changed really, but you can easily work with it to achieve what you want. It's all about how you structure your media folders: Within the share you mount, you should have another folder that then contains your media folders, such as: //sharename/media/movies/<movies> //sharename/media/tvshows/<tvshows> On the emby host, you want to mount the /media portion wherever (say /mnt/media for example), with the /movies and /tvshows folders within being created and removed by the mount. When unmounted, those two folders should disappear leaving an empty /mnt/media folder. From here, if you add the folder /mnt/media/tvshows to emby, and then the share gets dismounted; emby will see that folder missing entirely instead of being empty; so it will not remove the media from your libraries. This is exactly what I do, as my media is mounted via samba. Works great.1 point

You may also want to check into IPv4 & IPv6 connectivity in case one of those is being blocked or dropped and the browser is automatically preferring the other one but Emby is not.1 point

It would be quite amazing if this feature was added.1 point

Just some feedback that the communication rewrite seems to have eliminated the crashing between episodes when "Play From Here" is used. Everything is much faster as well. Amazing work, thank you!1 point

I have libraries Movies, TV, Music Videos, Music and Music Videos. The folder.jpg that is the GENRE artwork is currently shared across the libraries. So categories of genre like Action, Adventure, Animation, Comedy, Crime, Drama, Mystery, Sci-Fi, Western, etc. My Movie library may have different GENRE cover art for ANIMATION compared to ANIMATION in my TV library. For example, the artwork for movies may have movie animation characters on it and the tv version has tv characters. Similarly for Music and Music Videos - I would like my music genres to be able to be different from my Music Videos library. Lastly for audiobooks, although these have categories for comedy, drama, classic literature, mystery, sci-fi etc, the art work for these are more title based without characters on the cover art from a programme or movie. Looking at the emby fiel system I can see that the genres are pretty much in one folder, so just a case of having a separate folder for each library type?1 point

The log looks fine, no issues reported... 2024-06-07 17:54:57.331 T:955 info <general>: VideoPlayer::OpenFile: /emby_addon_mode/tvshows/3afd0834e4a64a5099b5474ab4f49324/493020/745472/791666/e-791666-9caacb6244261eec5a093775257830a2-813-7335-0-1-0-0-0-1-h264-1348659-aac-192000--Babylon_5___S00E06.mkv 2024-06-07 17:54:57.388 T:1002 info <general>: EMBY.hooks.player: [ onPlay ] 2024-06-07 17:55:46.221 T:955 info <general>: CVideoPlayer::CloseFile() ... but I miss some records in the log. Sounds like Kodi just stopped the playback. Quite surprised, this should happen on .26/.27. Kodi has playback control at this point, also the emby server log shows, Kodi requested the stream (actually only a HEAD request). Are you sure this started with .26/.27, makes no sense to me at the moment. I need a debug log for review.1 point

@quickmicI missed the 10.0.26 update. I upgraded from 10.0.25 to 10.0.27. I did a local database reset after the update. Unfortunately, no media would play. I rolled back to 10.0.26. Media playback still would not start. I rolled back to 10.0.25. That resolved the issue. The attached logs are from playback attempts after the upgrade from 10.0.25 to 10.0.27. kodi.log kodi.old.log embyserver.txt1 point

@serpi That worked really well, it did exactly what you said it would. I'm going to play with it some more. It should be pretty easy to make a batch script or AutoHotkey script that creates a STRM file of a file.1 point

We are not going to arbitrarily choose to end support for the FreeBSD package, so you have nothing to worry about from us. We will continue to produce it for as long as we can and will only stop when something forces us to. For example, I suspect that support from external tools that we depend on will start to drop off, then sooner or later something will break, and that's when it might be the end of it. But hopefully that doesn't happen anytime soon.1 point

I just wrote a simple python script to check for any active emby users within the last 10 minutes. You just need to update the top 2 variables (api token and emby url). I call this script from my backup script, so that i can avoid shutting down all my docker containers while people are using emby. I don't bother with the Sessions endpoint as it's not needed. Simply checking the LastActivityDate works very effectively. import json import os import requests import dateutil.parser as dp from datetime import datetime, timedelta, timezone ''' Checks for any active emby users within last x minutes. Prints True if active users found, otherwise False. ''' api_token = "<api token>" emby_url = "<emby url>" endpoint = "Users" minutes = 10 url = os.path.join(emby_url, "emby", endpoint, "?api_key=" + api_token) headers = {'Accept': 'application/json'} response = requests.get(url, headers=headers) json_data = json.loads(response.text) now = datetime.now(timezone.utc) active_status = False for user in json_data: last_active = dp.isoparse(user["LastActivityDate"]) if now - timedelta(minutes=minutes) <= last_active <= now: active_status = True break print(active_status)1 point

Several threads before we asked for options to be moved to transcoding section, especially 2 fpr gpu control, didn't happen, luke responded that we can use settings in xml file, after a month he disabled those settings in xml aslo. Over a year we are writing about this and being completely ignored.0 points
