  1. ScripterX is a useful part of filling in gaps in the functioning of my media system, thank you. The ability to fire off a relevant data payload on events to an external script (rather than a web service) is specific functionality that i dont think the main product exposes. I use it to remove content from 'recommendation collections' after being watched Clearing paused sessions on devices when continuing on another device maybe an option to enable/disable scripts on a script by script rather than event by event basis in the ui would be a nice to have but ive managed so far.

  4. New PUBLIC TESTING version available 10.0.26: Delta changelog 10.0.25 -> 10.0.26 rewrite http communication with Emby server (remove urllib3 dependency, http comminicaion is now on low level socket-basis) fix context menu rewrite emby login handshakes fix textoverlay position fix minor artwork issues remove song artwork from synced content (let Kodi handle it) fix menu options in content helper plugins fix library Id filters for dynamic nodes fix dynamic node Genre for Audiobooks and Podcasts Comment: http rewrite is a major change (under the hood). All communication timeout issues should be fixed e.g. failed syncs when long running tasks are interrupted (Kodi shutdown) Query (priority) orders are improved as well as image loading. Less overhead and removal of external library urllib3 dependency HTTP Emby server redirects are not supported (yet). Let me know if this causes any problems. Reconnect to Emby server might be required, but no database reset.

  5. The default sort order is set to 'Folders'. I would prefer to have all libraries I select to default to release date. I know I can manually set it, but I have to do that for every folder in the library. I would like to see the ability to have it automatically set the default sort order for all new folders I create.

  6. Hey, Just a quick question of VVC Codec (H.266) to see if this will be support by emby once they have released it fully to the public. VVC was released at the end of 2020 for testing on OTT companies etc and hopefully should be releasing it to the public domain fairly soon. of course there soon may be 2 years but would just like to ask if its something that is possible. EDIT : If you would also like to have this improvement/feature please give a like on this post so that the devs can see how much/little demand it currently has Thanks guys

  8. I love the additional subfolders for Movie Extras (eg, Shorts, Scenes, Interviews, etc.)! I would like to propose an additional folder: "Galleries". Within the Galleries folder the user would place subfolders (only one level of nesting) and each subfolder could contain any images the user chooses. Then, Emby would display the subfolder name as an Extra (in Emby Theater) and opening that extra would launch an image gallery of the containing images. For example: Movies\Disney\The Sword In The Stone (1963)\Galleries\Scrapbook Movies\Disney\The Sword In The Stone (1963)\Galleries\Film Facts "Scrapbook" is what would be listed among other Extras in Emby Theater, and the Scrapbook folder contains various images to be displayed in a slideshow that the user can navigate with their left/right arrows. This feature request is motivated by the following related post: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/55912-video-ts-folder-no-longer-recognized-in-movie-extras-folder/ Basically, sometimes there are extras such as image galleries and text content which are only available via the DVD menu. I have found that I can use FFMPEG to extract all the frames from a video file, and so use that on the appropriate VOB file from the original DVD. Then I can use VisiPics to delete all the duplicates, resulting in content I can then sort into folders (eg, Concept Art, Storyboards, etc.). All I need is for there to be the above support for a Galleries extras folder, which could contain multiple subfolders (only one level deep), each containing images to be displayed as image galleries in Emby Theater, etc. Thanks for your consideration! PS - If this is something you might like to see implemented, be sure to "Like" this top/first post (as well as any subsequent posts in this thread that highlight particular aspects of what you are interested in) -- "Liking" the top/first post helps the Devs to know how much interest there is in a given Feature Request.

  9. The original plugin has ceased development, a new plugin is in development futher on in this thread. (re-using the thread as the plugin now does this and much more) Please go to the latest post for the newest updates Backup / Restore Actors - Beta with local or web based restore. This is by no means meant to replace the other addon for backing up Actors, it is simply an alternative with a different goal. I'm looking for a couple of testers (up to 50), I can supply my web based restore url for my actor database, so you can try restoring from mine and see if it adds any people to you collection. IT IS NOT A WEB SCRAPER!! It is ideally suited for an online collaboration, backup to your hdd/ssd drive , ftp them folder structure online some where, add to it via other peoples backups use a single url for downloads between the collaborators. You can use either a local disk to restore from, a web based server or a NAS. With a NAS you have more than 1 option. You can use it as a local backup/restore server. You can enable http services in your NAS, open the ports and allow others to restore their images directly from your NAS via your ip address. http://<yourip>:port/ , http://<your noip/dyndns>/, http://<your noip/dyndns>:port/ Backup to Local Drive (any that your machine can write to including smb) Restore from Local Backup Location Restore from Internet Location , ie a http:// location. The restore function will check your file/actor integrity and delete/repair corrupt files and associations even if it doesn't replace the image. if you use the restore function with a valid path but no backup, the app will run the integrity check and fix corrupt actors and placeholders, without restoring any images. Use / Share backups online to increase your Actors via collaboration Extracts into an IMDB structured folder Extracts into an TMDB structured folder Extracts unknowns in to Actors Folder Extracts Movie Titles into Folders with Actor Names Extracts TV Shows into folders with Actor Names Currently there is no stop button, or progress indicator other than minimal log output. However if you do NOT navigate away from the page it will update when its done. You must click "Save Settings" after changing anything to update the server. There is no liability offered or accepted, use completely at your own risk. Built with netstandard2.0 Its not been tested in any other environment than win 10 x64, but: It should be Linux compatible and It should work on all systems Emby runs on, linux or windows based. Still in development. Currently has not tested on any other machine than mine. Open to suggestions.

  11. That all sounds reasonable to me, and things are invariably more complicated than us just saying 'can't you just do this', but I still imagine people will still be asking about this (and filter by decade) in a years time, and another year after that...just like for nextgen TV (or TVnext...) or that watch together thing, or...

  12. Only you know that answer. But really, do you have to sign all users in to all TVs? In a family environment with young kids one shared account without password or simple password could be enough. Young kids are not likely to have or need remote access. A shared family account also with a simple password or none and without remote access could also work while separating the kids stuff from older content. Older kids and adults can sign in themselves. Adults needing help could probably do with a local only simple login as well. If they need help then likely not watching remotely either.

  16. Hey Scott, Thank you so much for this feedback! You can achieve an automated emby reboot using crontab or microsoft scheduled tasks - I use curl.exe on my windows development PC to restart my dev emby whenever I do a new compile of ScripterX to test the changes; I achieve that by calling: c:\curl\bin\curl.exe -X POST "http://localhost:8096/emby/System/Restart?api_key=my_emby_api_key_here" -H "accept: */*" -d " On linux/unix you can install curl too, and it will work just the same. Just change my_emby_api_key_here to an API key you generate in the API Key section of the emby administration dashboard. So for linux (debian, ubuntu, etc) apt-get install curl ... then crontab -e and add a crontab I hope this helps mate!

  17. Have to agree - really not sure why this has taken so long to implement. People simply like to look for movies by 'generation or decade'. I added my own code (took about 5 minutes) to the mediaInfo plugin to tag each movie with a 'decade' tag - now at least I can filter by decade - but it would have been nice to simply use the 'Sort by Year' with an 'decade picker' on the side to jump to the pre-filtered items. I'm sure the coding guru's would have this done in a few lines (I'm not a dev..) - but this is all I added to create the basic functionality as tags .. ... string getyearstring = DateTime.Parse(item.PremiereDate.ToString()).Year.ToString(); getyearint = Int16.Parse(getyearstring); if (getyearint > 1929 && getyearint < 1940) { Log.Debug("Writing Tag Decade = #1930's : Actual Year = {0}", getyearint); decade = "#1930's"; tempList.Add(new LinkedItemInfo { Name = "#1930's" }); } if (getyearint > 1939 && getyearint < 1950) { Log.Debug("Writing Tag Decade = #1940's : Actual Year = {0}", getyearint); decade = "#1940's"; tempList.Add(new LinkedItemInfo { Name = "#1940's" }); } if (getyearint > 1949 && getyearint < 1960) { Log.Debug("Writing Tag Decade = #1950's : Actual Year = {0}", getyearint); decade = "#1950's"; tempList.Add(new LinkedItemInfo { Name = "#1950's" }); } if (getyearint > 1959 && getyearint < 1970) { Log.Debug("Writing Tag Decade = #1960's : Actual Year = {0}", getyearint); decade = "#1960's"; tempList.Add(new LinkedItemInfo { Name = "#1960's" }); } if (getyearint > 1969 && getyearint < 1980) { Log.Debug("Writing Tag Decade = #1970's : Actual Year = {0}", getyearint); decade = "#1970's"; tempList.Add(new LinkedItemInfo { Name = "#1970's" }); } if (getyearint > 1979 && getyearint < 1990) { Log.Debug("Writing Tag Decade = #1980's : Actual Year = {0}", getyearint); decade = "#1980's"; tempList.Add(new LinkedItemInfo { Name = "#1980's" }); } if (getyearint > 1989 && getyearint < 2000) { Log.Debug("Writing Tag Decade = #1990's : Actual Year = {0}", getyearint); decade = "#1990's"; tempList.Add(new LinkedItemInfo { Name = "#1990's" }); } if (getyearint > 1999 && getyearint < 2010) { Log.Debug("Writing Tag Decade = #2000's : Actual Year = {0}", getyearint); decade = "#2000's"; tempList.Add(new LinkedItemInfo { Name = "#2000's" }); } if (getyearint > 2009 && getyearint < 2020) { Log.Debug("Writing Tag Decade = #2010's : Actual Year = {0}", getyearint); decade = "#2010's"; tempList.Add(new LinkedItemInfo { Name = "#2010's" }); } if (getyearint > 2019 && getyearint < 2030) { Log.Debug("Writing Tag Decade = #2020's : Actual Year = {0}", getyearint); decade = "#2020's"; tempList.Add(new LinkedItemInfo { Name = "#2020's" }); } if (getyearint > 2029 && getyearint < 2040) { Log.Debug("Writing Tag Decade = #2030's : Actual Year = {0}", getyearint); decade = "#2030's"; tempList.Add(new LinkedItemInfo { Name = "#2030's" });

  18. Hi! I've been googling around to find out that this issue has been going on for years and i couldn't find a fix for it. Can someone help me out on removing the playlist menu that shows up on the left side?? Would it be possible to disable it or at least to prevent it to open up by default everytime the main page is being accessed? Thanks!!

  19. Hi @sammy, Yes, ChannelsDVR can be integrated with Emby via the m3u as @luke said. I'm using it to bring in Pluto, Tubi, ESPN+, and NBC website channels into Emby. I'm using their pre-release server (I'm pretty sure you need to use it and not their stable server). I've seen some issues with YTTV on their forums, but not for everyone. There's no wiki, but there are a couple of other threads here in Live TV about setting it up. Let me know if I can help. Edit-I also use it to bring in my Spectrum TVE channels.

  23. Finally, I received the update available notification... Redid the three movies, and the image extraction succeeded. Brilliant, thanks @Luke Also thanks @sa2000for your help! Now, all that's missing is the GUI changes in server & client, so that these chapters can actually be used/seen when dealing with multi-version video files grouped together... embyserver.txt

  24. I use it for Authentication logging. I would probably use it a lot more if I didn't have my own direct API connectivity for all my other emby integration scripts and applications. imo it's a valueable 'middleware' plugin for those that are unfamiliar with the API or Webhooks, but want to 'do stuff' with other applications. What would be good - is for some more 'examples' to be given - copying anothers example is usually a better starting point than a blank sheet Maybe we need a 'Scripter-X Example' section in this sub-forum - or a new topic per Scripter-X example (otherwise it gets bloated with questions and we'll lose having them all together). Something to think about ?

  28. I am also enthusiastic. Gives the whole thing an extra touch. But it is disappointing that apparently only members who are not part of the Emby team are involved. When I look at other areas where it hasn't been fixed even after years - it's just sad.

  30. I want to use it, but right now I'm diagnosing a buffering issue, uninstalled script x and commercial skip plug in... So far the buffering and server pauses have diminished. I would love to go back using scripture x with commercial skip, what can be done about this issue? The only way to stop the buffering with the plugins is to restart the server but at least once sometimes two or three time a day. I would love for there to be some sort of way to be able to commercial skip without the issue of buffering... I would definitely say what the flexibility of scripter x that it should definitely stay.

  33. Everyone, I added viewing channels one channel at a time, improved how programs and bumpers are interleaved, and increased the overall speed of the code. I have only tested the code for a short while, so I may have broken something. @TZTZorohas also improved the GUI and the HTML code. Please let me know about any bugs or improvement suggestions. Vic ==> Well I did break something - I am fixing it now - I will post the code again this afternoon The sort order is not always being followed. I will fix this ASAP The code below is OK and will give everyone a good feel for the GUI. PseudoTV.dll

  34. Hi, what they need to do is attach a playSessionId to all stream urls and then attach the same value to all start, progress and stop reports. Since i assume they are not using our /playbackInfo api, they can just generate a random value such as a guid.

  36. Hi Try version 351 just added now, in github Adds Disable Clock Add selection option from Remaining time instead of duration, 2nd option of End Time - time that program will end (pretty straight forward) Likely not suit time resolution screens. The Time size scaler affects this as well. Save Settings prior to options being visible & Re -adds the colour Icons - which may have gone with a version back, Few other minor fixes. Took a while, code is old … not sure up to many more updates/changes.. But here is this….

  37. Thanks very much for the clarification. Could this user-level setting then be either: A ) Added to the "Edit this user's profile, image and personal preferences" link in Emby Server? I am hoping to set 'Show Grid/Do Not Group' for all my users myself/centrally rather than having to walk everybody through changing it whenever a new install is done. and/or B ) Have a server-level setting to change the default to 'Show Grid/Do-Not-Group' (or vice-versa) for all new users?

  38. @TolkienBardI am familiar with that list lol. I’m about 1/3rd of the way done building all the pieces of the script. The big lift is getting the prompts all put together to allow for customization of how it assembles everything. The idea is run the script, it will give you a menu to chose from and let you do the entire setup as a one stop shop.

  39. I just wanted to say THANK YOU!!! to the emby team! Back in 2016 or so I gave up and tried plex...worked great for watching stuff away from home and on the phone but having been a huge fan of XBMC it wasn't easy for me. Time went by and plex kept adding crap I don't care about and couldn't remove (not easily, if possible) and then I ran across an old emby file and decided to check it out. HOLY COW you guys have kicked butt on this!!! If I remember right, it's free too?? No way I'm gonna not pay for this but the option to still use it when I need it most (if I lose my job or some other catastrophe) is so awesome ❤ The ways emby is better than plex are so many Please PLEASE don't go so corporate or sell out like they did Thank you again everyone!

  40. Hi. Because that's what authentication is . There are a lot of discussions on this forum explaining why assuming a different security posture just because the system believes the traffic is internal is a very bad idea.
