Finally it is solved! I needed to set up the "1 - Click" option on my amazon payment page. I have done that & the payment has gone through!2 points

The new GUI code is much smaller than the old code. I will be posting it in a few days. I am now finishing work on the C# code. Vic2 points

For a while Emby has been using its own grouping of the above Album Artist, Artist and Composer to define an "Artist" for all the views in "Emby Music". While that maybe was the best option a couple of years ago. Now it seems more arbitrary and more of a bug than a feature. My Music Library is visually displayed well by Emby, But when you look at the Details the grouping makes it appear "wrong", and makes the artist view almost impossible to just play or shuffle tracks that an Artist was physically present and performed on. So Please Fix this for the next release. As sadly just a "Customer", anything else again seems more arbitrary vs any variety of explanations. -vicpa1 point

Let me start with an example. I have a bunch of Star Wars movies that are starting to get as complicated as Marvel. Well not really but they are diverging all over. So am creating a collection of my own that lists ALL star wars movies in chronological order. I historically use the Sort Title to get them to sort right in the collection but problem is say Rogue One. If I make that like a sort order label of Star Wars 05 as it's technically the 5th movie in order chronologically. However now it will sort under "S" in the Movies area due to that sort order flag. Adding it to a custom collection doesn't allow me to custom sort just that collection. Understand that could get complicated but thought I'd check if I'm missing anything.1 point

I checked like you suggested and it worked as I would expected, so I am now refreshing everything now. Thanks again!1 point

Du musst wenigstens eine Bedingung definieren, die gegenüber deiner Bibliotheksauswahl evaluiert wird. Am einfachsten wäre "Minimum Runtime" z.B. 1 oder "Release Date equal or newer than", z.B. 1900.1 point

Yes, I marked it as a solution. Sorry for the delay1 point

Pardon the grammar. It was so unexpected and at the same time got me so excited. Oh, I even forgot, how cool this hardware transcoding thing is. It's super stable and the switching between streams is like instantaneous with near zero cpu time. @alucryd, you're my hero. Thanks so much for looking into it. If you need further debugging of Synology auto detection mechanism from within the container, I'd be really happy to assist!1 point

Just wanted to chime in with an update. Somewhere between then and now (between 4.9.0.12-beta and 4.9.0.20-beta to be more precise) this flag seems to be fixed. With IGNORE_VAAPI_ENABLED_FLAG=true I'm getting the "-ignore_vaapi_enabled_flag hardware" in the command line and the transcoding settings appear and everything got detected properly and is working properly. Thanks to everyone who took part in this!1 point

Yes. The available sort orders on this screen do need some adjustment. Thanks.1 point

Thanks Luke! That was it! I generally view release notes when I have a problem, but in my haste I did not check there. Thanks again!1 point

I've pushed a compatibility update. Please keep me informed of anything g out of the ordinary. Thanks.1 point

Not really sure, but it works for me And it was in the documentation TV Naming | Emby Documentation Example: The Vampire Diaries (2009) [tmdbid=18165] Emby supports the following tags with the host website for lookup.1 point

Actually, the Android TV/Fire TV apps do have a setting for this.1 point

update is easy via repository install over the old. maybe you could add to qa I was not sure keeping that fragile construct together1 point

@new_german_guygood morning... The answer is I dont't know. Playback is done entirely in the Emby client. It's an interesting question and I will play with the API to find out if it supports this feature. I can not get to it until I finish the new GUI. Vic1 point

I lied I paid them a visit tonight, uninstalled/reinstalled, now working fine. Gotta love computers huh!1 point

I think I solved the problem. I completely deleted the hdhr and the server. Un-installed everything and deleted any related files. Then did a fresh clean install of the server and then added the hdhr. Everything is working now and guide data was right. Don't know what happened but something got messed up when installing or adding it.1 point

I know the dev's are working hard to combine these two apps, not sure that's a good thing but that's what we have. As performance goes (playback/pause/UI...) it seems to be ok... BUT one thing I miss from the ATV version is the slide transition in the main menu/library's, it's just too clunky at the mo transition wise with the standard android app! It needs a slide animation to smooth that out. ATV is not a touch device (10f device) and I don't know why they decided to go this way..1 point

Hi, no, not currently, but I see what you mean. Like you have a channel, but based on certain conditions you want to disable it?1 point

I know Emby doesn't fully support DVD but I have transferred unencrypted DVD content to my Emby library and I can view it without converting to another format. However, I miss having the DVD launch menu. I guess this is NOT supported by Emby?1 point

I feel you. However, something I find helps with this process is DVD Compare. They list the extras with run times. So, it still requires to play a file but as soon as you see the duration you’re done. Before I found the site, I would have to do all your steps. It’s such a ball ache.1 point

so now there's an Linux emby docker update im still a bit lost. sorry!! my whole container looks exactly like your github compose description (other uid of course..) does that mean I can just update emby now? or do I need to ssh something again? what do you mean with run the whole script? you mean docker compose? but it's already there everything good I'm only talking about an upgrade1 point

@ebr, I just wanted to say thank you. I haven't been using Emby but decided to give it a try again and noticed that the Live TV Mode feature was fixed. I don't know when that was deployed, but regardless, I just wanted to say thank you. I had to go back to using Live Channels because my family was getting frustrated with using Emby. But I'm sure they'll be much happier with the app working like a TV app that they're comfortable using. Thank you so very much to you and your team!1 point

Hi Jägs, Your answer helped me get Emby up and running again. I used 'PuTTY to enter the commands then installed & ran Emby, and it worked, so many thanks for that. I now know what to do in future if this happens again. Subject is now closed1 point

Just here to show my support for this as well. The "Smart Playlists 2.0" Plugin by @ShanePis great and fulfills a lot of the requirements already. But the most important part is missing, and that's including the collections and playlists into the homescreen, so users can discover new and interesting content easily. (As well as the sorting functionality inside the collections/playlists!) "Recently added" on the homescreen just doesn't cut it anymore, and i say this as a big emby fan and premiere user for years. We are slowly approaching 10 years since this feature request was brought up and we still don't have it on the horizon. It's quite disheartening to be honest. Maybe work with @ShanePto refine the plugin and include it into emby? He obviously has a solid base already. Obviously this would be a premiere feature. I know that developing emby is hard and a lot of work, i appreciate Luke and the other devs a lot and i love supporting this project. But i can't stress enough how much this feature would elevate emby to the next level for a lot of users.1 point

Specific examples are needed but I would first check the Sorttitle via edit metadata.1 point

Probably it falls back to sw transcoding in that case, can't say for sure without a log, but VAAPI doesn't indicate support for 10bit deccoding, as seen in the log. Memory has darkened a bit, but unless I misremember, the situation was like this: SkyLake didn't have fixed-function implementation for HEVC 10bit decoding But Intel had a special solution for QSV: There was a special implementation for HEVC hw decoding via an extension dll, which ffmpeg could load It's hw decoding, but using GPU kernels/shaders for decoding instead of fixed-function blocks The dll was included in Intel Media SDK (Windows) and later in Windows drivers For Linux, it was included in Intel Media Server Studio, but opposed to Windows this wasn't free Either for this or for another reason, the whole thing (10bit HEVC decoding) worked on Windows only, not on Linux But QuickSync/libMFX still reports 10bit support on both, Windows and Linux, which is wrong in the latter case We never fixed the detection because it was reported only once or twice when SkyLake had been pretty old already.1 point

Please, in the next Server version, fix the Settings > Plugins page. It is so clumsy and hard to find stuff. No search, just rows of huge icons that you have to sift thru to find plugins. At least give an option to use smaller icons (cards?).1 point

Agreed. We need to be able to see missing episodes right in line with episodes available. Design-wise, to show them with less opaque images and text and make them not clickable would be an improvement. And the play button used to appear over the thumbnail for missing episodes, so that needed to be removed... But to remove missing episodes from even being able to display alongside regular episodes is a mistake.1 point

Did you see the option in library setup? Import playlist files Playlists found in your media directories can be imported into Emby Server.1 point
