Hi, I would love to have tautulli or equivalent for emby. Especially for people coming from plex, we would love to see something like tautulli. I know there are a few Statistic plugins but i think we all know there is nothing like tautulli out there. I love the way i see people currently watching movies on my server and the details of what is transcoding etc. i know emby also shows ppl watching movies but it isn't the same. I don't get a notification or even see a icon if someone starts to play while i have the emby page open. There is no icon that shows me someone is watching a movie. Tautulli is also open source so if someone has the skills in python to make it work for emby, this would be amazing. For me this is actually really the only reason I hesitate to switch completely. maybe someone can make this happen

EMBY SERVER 4.8.1 IS NOW LIVE WITH LOTS OF NEW FEATURES AND IMPROVEMENTS Emby Server 4.8 has been rolling out to various platforms over the past week or so. This upgrade in particular is packed with a lot of new features, improvements and fixes. Over the next few weeks, we will be sharing multiple blog posts to share some of the exciting new functionality that 4.8 brings to Emby and give you a more in-depth look into the features. Today’s blog will focus on two new features: PROFILE PINS With Emby 4.8 you now have the ability to set individual profile PINs. This new PIN replaces the old local network only PIN that existed prior to this release. It is more flexible (works both locally and remotely) and more secure. This new PIN is very useful if you have devices in your home that are shared by multiple users. As an example you may want to put a PIN on your profile so kids in your home can’t just click on your profile and view all of the same media but still allow your kids to freely switch between their profiles on the same device. NOTE: All users (local and remote) must authenticate ONCE per device. Once this initial authentication is done, that user will be remembered on that device and won't require password entry again unless signed out. PLAYLIST SHARING CONTROL Another great feature of 4.8 is the ability to designate exactly what other Emby users you share playlists with. Prior to 4.8, any playlist that was created was available to everyone on your Emby server. Now they’re set up for individual users. When you first create a playlist, that playlist is private to just you. If you wish you can then share it with any user that you would like via the "Modify Collaboration" option. You are able to set it up so that different users have read only access or have view and edit access to the playlist. Please keep in mind that this is only for playlists that were created after the upgrade to 4.8. Playlists created prior to this release will not have this functionality. They would have to be re-created to gain it. NOTE: In order to utilize this feature, you must first grant each user that you want to be able to create shared playlists the ability to share content from the user settings on the dashboard. You can see from the image below that it is simply a checkmark on the settings page. Once that is checked, it is as simple as creating a new playlist and then either right clicking on the playlist or clicking on the “...” menu and clicking on manage collaboration. From there you can easily choose which user you want to share the playlist with and what level of access they have. Yeah they have a way to go! But still is this the right direction to take? What is there motivation to combine the to platforms? It seems strange to me personally..

i Still cant understand that in android app there is no next episode button in video OSD, you need to make 4-5 clicks to get to menu and find next menu and click it.... And funny thing is if u play music in same android app than there is next button in video OSD, consistency something that's been out of emby for years unfortunately.

It's not a plugin issue. Kodi is responsible for the playbacks, Emby server for the stream data. The plugin just tells Kodi what to play. Usual suspects are the hardware acceleration settings in Kodi, firmware bugs or android issues.

Could be related; I’m also noticing the “mark as watched” button does nothing when directly opening media from the Downloads section as well. Also seems all of these are observed on Movies, TV Shows libraries as well. Not just Home videos & photos libraries.

Nothing, it's definitely the way to go! ABS is also tag driven. You just need to support more relevant tags for audiobooks and add a scraper like audible.

In the 4.8.7 release that is currently rolling out, you should only be seeing Collections side scroll if they contain multiple types. So for example, if a collection has only Movies, then it will just be one vertical list. If there are multiple types, then there will be the horizontal categories. If you prefer just to have one large mixed list like before, then for the next release we'll add a user option to control that. Thanks.

Has there every been any success on this? My family and I casting from the app to a Chromecast aren't able to resume or seek. It's been like this for a year or longer. It works as expected when playing to the web client, or to a native app (just not casting to Chromecast). When resuming it initially starts playing from the start then jumps to the moment requested, it then shows a still image and the audio plays. This is my experience for first, second, third and ultra gens of Chromecast including on Android tv. I'm using hardware transcoding, but it also doesn't work with it off. My storage is reasonably fast and and is either stripped array or SSD. There are no restrictions on my account that I can think of. If you can describe how to get the Chromecast logs I would be happy to get them. Thanks
