  1. Does that mean you'll finally stop nominating yourself as the voice of the people and leave? Getting real sick of reading 'nobody wants that' 'everyone want's this' like you're some ambassador of media server users.

  2. Will we still experience a wave of updates across all systems in 2024 so that we are visually and functionally at the same level on the different systems? Will sideloading on Android come to an end? Will the metadata manager be expanded and become a server helper, e.g. to tidy up metadata, move it and identify missing content? Will we see a visual reboot of the IOS app? Or will the apps be visually adapted again? Will there be a customisable newsletter so that you can recommend films to yourself and your family? Will the direct play functionality be expanded further? Will CoverArt be integrated into Core as standard? Will IntroSkip be further developed and better implemented? Will there be a better source for trailers so that we can save them offline as well as country-specific? An alternative would be to choose an online provider, but then you run the risk that they will no longer exist at some point. I left out all my opinions and just wrote down what I could think of. Best regards seger

  3. As I mentioned in the original post, the idea behind this was to gather a list of questions that people are interested in hearing about. The only thing that was off the table was roadmap questions. Emby is a media server with many function so there should definitely be more questions than just roadmap. It’s being used daily and people aren’t just waiting for future updates. With that being said, we do understand the interest in knowing what is coming too. If you have issues with the Emby platform or a specific app, try posting in the proper forum. You may be more likely to get a helpful response. It seems lately that every positive post gets turned in to something that someone wants to complain about. While we understand that our product is not perfect, we believe we are the best in the industry and we strive to continue to improve. One of the ways we improve is by user feedback so we welcome both the positive and negative. Just please keep in mind the appropriate places for the feedback! In another day or so we will compile the list of questions for the Emby team to answer!

  4. You seem to be VERY invested, lol. Then why are you here? My time is valuable and I wouldn’t waste it on forums for products I don’t use. You’re hilarious

  5. I like your plugin exactly BECAUSE it does not rely on external sources. External sources will only show what is hyped at the moment, which everybody anyway knows about. Would for me be just another layer of complexity that adds new bug possibilities. But then again...I am really only running a private server for friends and not for commercial usage.

  6. This conversation does not really make a welcoming appearance. Why not create another conversation "Q&A Session - Your Questions" in which you repost only the questions made so far, allow posting new questions but anything that is not a question will be deleted. This one can be kept as the gossip talk around the Q&A questions. I don't think that many will want add a question here after reading...

  7. IT WORKING (insert pod racer) A lot of those variables were added by docker automatically after the container creation. All of the environment variables below were not entered into the original compose. I use portainer so I ended up exporting the current running compose for this post, sorry for the confusion. - "PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin" - "LANG=en_US.UTF-8" - "HOME=/tmp" - "AMDGPU_IDS=/share/libdrm/amdgpu.ids" - "FONTCONFIG_PATH=/etc/fonts" - "LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/lib:/system" - "LIBVA_DRIVERS_PATH=/lib/dri" - "OCL_ICD_VENDORS=/etc/OpenCL/vendors" - "PCI_IDS_PATH=/share/hwdata/pci.ids" - "SSL_CERT_FILE=/etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt" - "NVIDIA_VISIBLE_DEVICES=all" - "NVIDIA_DRIVER_CAPABILITIES=compute,video,utility" - "XDG_CACHE_HOME=/config/cache" Once I got the GPU to show up I went back to test and the trailing / in /dev/dri/didn't seem to affect anything. best to leave it off as I have seen the general consensus is that you don't need it. This is what did the trick I added the following after searching for the correct GIDLIST I found this post - "GIDLIST=109" There was also a GIDLIST=44 however I tested that and it was not needed. Thanks everyone for the help!

  8. If you can’t come up with some specifics on how to help Emby team to stop said abuse, why mention it at all? You seem to be coming across as bitter and negative, imo. And, kinda feels like you ARE contributing “nothing” to what was meant to be a positive and informative thread.

  9. Yes - you don't understand it - thankyou for acknowledging that fact. If I wanted a random list of somebody elses suggestions, based on the usual common 'Trending' pages - which trend simply because it appears in the 'Trending' pages based on it being newly released and it has a big Marketing budget - be a sheep - entirelly up to you. Been there, done that but the simple fact of the matter is - that is NOT what this is about. Maybe you have never thought about if others would like/appreciate something you have just watched ? If you have, how could you add that to their individual 'Watch List' for next time ? The only person that knows what other people like - is another person - not some BS general algorithm.

  10. An update has just been published to the Cover Art plugin to add this. It's only available for the beta server right now, but once we've collected sufficient user feedback we'll publish the update to all servers running Emby Server 4.8+. Thanks guys.

  11. Actually that will be coming very soon. Our developer just finished up on it today actually.

  12. And that is why the canned response of "certainly possible in future updates" doesn't go to well as when is the future update.

  14. Good day, You all have good point, so now my view what the disagree icon should be, this is a testing, so let me know: Yes the order here not to attack the other, simply to disagree, and the color indeed show that. My best

  17. Hey it's all good guys! Let's keep goin in a positive direction. I fixed the season issue, and I think that there is merit to the addition of trakt info. Right now we are using community ratings, which I believe are a tvdb thing, but if the lists changes by swapping trakt data into the engagement calculation, then let's try it out. I'm game. I'll give it a go tonight. Perhaps if the lists change enough we can have the top picks swap out during the week.

  18. Please elucidate us. Do not keep this type of information to yourself unless you condone this behavior. We do not. Either you are using hyperbole, or you are serious? Which is it? Are you part of the problem or part of the solution? Which side of the fence are you on? When you mention all the evil things people are doing with Emby and then give no actual evidence or proof where we can act on it. Is sort of like baiting us or send us on wild goose chases? It becomes hard to defend that point of view. ------------------------- The issue is certain people steal. Those certain people who steal that are using Emby to provide a pay service to others are the problem. Limits just slow them down. This is how those "JellyFish" people started. They borrowed some Emby code and removed all the premiere limits. The jellyfish people allow this behavior. Please go give them an earful. Emby is doing the best it can to keep those certain people from doing these type of shenanigans. On a side note though, I know that Emby listens to users to know which things deserve attention in each app. Along with having priority dictated by Beta server updates. It is very fast paced. Sometimes it isn't possible to keep up on every app but damn we try hard. Real life also gets in the way. We try to do the best we can with the time we are given. It is hard to go into details but believe me it is supposed to be fun. It isn't fun when you only hear the users with issues all the time. But it is what it is. The fun is when you solve the problem finally after hours of headaches.

I have to go to sleep now is 04:13 am done with the nerves. ^^ Will this stay with me permanently like in the screenshot, even after an emby server update? Thanks again, you helped me a lot and saved my ass in the end.

  24. Something is not correct there as you should see something like this. http://localhost:8091/web/index.html#!/list/list.html?parentId=11683&serverId=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx45edbd86c96723848014 I would do the /Library/VirtualFolders/Query and get the id from there but suggests 94146

  25. Looks like you jumped the gun. You need to get the parentid for url for the duplicate or run the /Library/VirtualFolders/Query to get the list of libaries and see their ids. input your duplicate library parentid here replacing string

  26. You are good, only way to lose it would be new clean install. As for the Name look at api for name change. But do not use my ID number. You need to navigate to your Collection Library and look at the URL to get the parentid.

  30. The disagree grey one (just to compare the level grey color). So you want 50 shades of grey, no color, right?

  31. While it is visually not overly appealing, it still much better than the strong brown one.

  32. You need to scroll to LibraryStructureService and expand it per the image above the you will use the first option POST /Library/VirtualFolders. Since you don't have the library, a query will not give you anything useful. You just need to copy the hidden text in original linked post and click Try it out on POST /Library/VirtualFolders and paste it into over the blank ADDVIRTUUALFOLDER field data.

  33. Per you code listed above you are changing with this. /* Different colour for version number in-home access remote access */ a.button-link.emby-button {color: #E78587;} You should have seen your code in the console.

  35. Correct the CORS error so you need to go to the other link and adjust your browser flag for your Emby url.
    1 point
  36. On the Server Dashboard there is a API link at the bottom of the page. Depending on your server connection you may get a error on that page as it requires localhost or https connection. But next post in that linked topic tells you a browser flag workaround for the CORS issues. This is where you would paste the code I put in the hidden area of linked post.

  37. I have emby server on three different phones running Android 8, 10 and 12 respectively. I never had any problem with privilege, access etc. You can look at the exact path of a folder from any file manager and put it in Emby server. I use SD card also. It's super easy. Currently, as per my knowledge, Emby server is the only server officially supported on Android phones and it works so well. Plex is only for Nvidia shield and crashes on Android phones. So, Thanks for the Emby server for Android Phones.

  38. Update: I removed Emby 4.7.. reinstalled using 4.8. And Emby opened and it updated to 4.8.10. All is good in the world.

  39. I beg all Emby staff to read that thread. Luke is gaslighting several of us paying users or just not paying attention to what we are amply demonstrating. This is infuriating.

  40. But there is no fix as the server/web client will fetch online image before looking at embedded images per library settings, correct? My example per that topic.

  41. My question, which I don't know where else to ask: why does Luke continue to refuse to acknowledge problems with Music Library image handling, even after multiple users are posting multiple screenshots and detailed problem reports. I am so frustrated and exhausted from the lack of support let alone acknowledgement of what is a basic, fixable limitation in how Emby currently handles album images in music libraries.

  42. Remove and reinstall won’t fix this. It’s not an installation issue, it’s a launch issue when the internal LG api services don’t start up quick enough. That is why it is so random. Terminating and reloading the app is the best approach as the services generally load quicker the second time and this problem is avoided. For older models, the app can be terminated like this Press Home to display the app ribbon Navigate up to the 'Emby' app title on the top left Hand side Select the 'x' close button that appears - this will close the app. Relaunch the app For newer models, there are other methods to terminate the app. I don’t know all of them. Some require holding down the Home key on the remote, some need holding down the back/return key. Google your model and find out how to terminate an app if these methods don’t work. The important part is terminating, not just closing the app to the background.

  44. fyi, I am running version 4.7.14.0, 4.8.0.64 and 4.9.0.4 on Android 8, Android 10 and Android 12 respectively. Thanks. All three devices are smartphones.

  45. I think his point is that you don't even know they exist. You'd have to go hunting for them. Considering we have the ability to remove a series from CW now, it seems reasonable to behave as he asks - if no unwatched episodes exist after the last watched but some do before it, show the earliest unwatched one.

  47. This community is here to help you. Here are some guidelines on what information you should supply when reporting issues. Make sure to check out our Knowledge Base for more useful information. Reporting Emby Issues Please create a topic in the community. Describe the problem in your own words, including what you're trying to accomplish, and where you're getting stuck. Please mention some specific examples. In your description, be very specific about the steps you took and what happened with the system. Describe it like you are talking to a blind person - because you are. We cannot see what you did or what happened so be as specific as possible. If you saw error messages, please tell us what they were. If the problem is difficult to explain, please include screenshots that demonstrate the issue. Please attach the server log from the time frame the activity occurred. See the section below titled Emby Server Logs. Please supply the full and complete log file in txt format. Please don't zip or compress, and avoid attempting to extract relevant sections. Everything is relevant to us. If a server transcoding log (ffmpeg log) was also generated during playback (in the server logs folder), please attach that as well. If you are using the Roku or Android TV specific app, please also follow the instructions below to send a log from the app. Emby Server Logs Logs can be accessed directly within the server's web interface by navigating to Logs under Emby Server sidebar section. If you're having difficulty using the web interface, log files can be found in the logs subfolder of the Emby Server Data Folder . Note: Be aware that these log files would not be sanitized if obtained directly from the logs folder and should not be uploaded in the forums. If there is an error downloading the logs through the Emby Web interface for Settings / Logs, please enable debug logging, repeat the attempt to download the logs and report the problem in the forum indicating the logs download issue. The raw logs can then be forwarded to a member of the Emby Team when requested. Emby for Android TV/Fire TV and Emby for Roku Logs These apps have the option to send an app log to us electronically. You enter the settings page and turn on the "Debug Options". Now there will be a new tile on your home page settings row (or menu option on the user menu at the top) labelled "Send Log". Reproduce your problem and then use this button to send the log. Then add the following information to your report in the forum: Exactly what you were doing and what happened. Include the name of whatever you played if it is a playback problem The time you sent the log (in Eastern Time please - UTC -5) The name of the Emby user on the local server that was logged in at the time How to Post Log Files You can simply drag a file onto your post to attach it. Alternatively, you can upload your log file to Paste2 or a DropBox account and then post the link in your topic. Please avoid linking us to log files that require us to sign into a website. If the problem is occurring in the Emby Web app, please remove any custom CSS you may have created and see if the issue remains after that.
