  1. This is why topics like this very seldomly work out as we are way off topic with info unrelated to this topic.

  3. This is going to be much improved very soon - in 4.9.0.6 beta and backported to the 4.8.2 maintenance release. The nfo handling will be improved to work with the database that we have, meaning: Nfo reading will merge the metadata from multiple episodedetails elements in the nfo file Nfo saving will attempt to split the values back into separate episodedetails nodes when writing the nfo file It's important to note though that most of the metadata will be duplicated across all of the episodedetail nodes, but this will at least provide greater compatibility with other nfo software.

  4. I search here; I use Discord; I'm 77 (first used a computer in 1966 and never stopped). I accept that I'm not typical, but please don't put so much weight onto generalisations (aka stereotypes), as I am far from unique. Paul

  6. What's the point of a list like that if most if not all of the media is not in your library for your users to play?

  9. Devs, with a patched Windows 7 it appears to work fine. So in the end all old platform users will need to ensure their systems support TLS 1.2 and they have the cipher suites any given site is looking for as site lockdowns will eventually exclude these platforms. ffmpeg-transcode-a9bd8189-e1da-4365-ae12-33c26f02f67d_1.txt

  10. Dude. Do not even go there. You, me, the trees, the forest, the dirt in the forest all know if people who want to run an illegal streaming application then they should run to JellyFish server. Notice I am not disparage the name. I know this is not the right name I am using. I do this intentionally. I do not want people to assume us the same. JellyFish is used most by illegal streamers for profit. Fact. Now go debate this with them how they intend to stop it. Emby uses the device limit. Now discuss here. They are not a competitor sir. I do not consider them to be. Nor does anyone else here believe them to be. Incite acts? I am not on their forum espousing for Emby. But they come here all the time to espouse for their version of reality. Perhaps read up on how that project started and why that guy still runs it. Then discuss some more. Then it becomes clear. They condone it. Emby does not. Then the discussion ends. It isn't a debate. Go read on Reddit. I'll wait... Edit: Here I will get you started. Start here...

  11. Actually, that is something that top picks isn't calculating. It isn't calculating trending items from external sources, it is calculating trending items on the server. Because of the small sample size of some severs, it is probabaly best to collect information about trending media from external sources.

  12. I've already told you many times this is blatantly false. We try to stop these guys at every juncture. If we were interested in getting more money from that usage, why would we limit the devices as we do even when people keep trying to give us more money for more devices? We 100% do NOT condone this use of our product.

  13. I resolved this issue by disabling the default GoogleTV launcher and installed Projectivity Launcher as a replacement: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spocky.projengmenu&hl=en&gl=US. Once it is installed, I followed the instructions below to disable GoogleTV launcer and make the 3-rd party launcher as the default homescreen: Disable default launcher: # Disable com.google.android.apps.tv.launcherx which is the default launcher on CCwGTV adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.google.android.apps.tv.launcherx # com.google.android.tungsten.setupwraith will then be used as a 'fallback' and will automatically # re-enable the default launcher, so disable it as well adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.google.android.tungsten.setupwraith Re-enable default launcher: adb shell pm enable com.google.android.apps.tv.launcherx adb shell pm enable com.google.android.tungsten.setupwraith The 3rd party launcher is clean, has more configuration options (no ADS!) and you can add Emby to the home screen for your Play Next movies/series. There is however a catch here if you also want to populate the thumbnails. CcwGTv does not allow http communication inside the LAN. So your Emby instance MUST be running in https mode with a valid domain name AND certificate inside your LAN. That means: you log in to your https Emby domain name (eg. https://myemby.examplecom). After logging in all Emby thumbnails should show on the home screen. My solution for running Emby in https mode inside my LAN is using Pi-Hole to map the domain name to my local server's ip address. Then I registered the domain name with CloudFlare (or any domain services as you wish) and pointed it to 0.0.0.0 so that it is not being proxied by CloudFlare. Then use Synology as reverse proxy to map to the https domain name and point it to my local Emby server. I am using Chromecast with GoogleTV Ultra 4K. It works like a charm:

  16. You’re probably showing more you’re age than anything I don't think this is a matter of age, nor is it in any way modern. IMO, this is just unorganized brain-spamming made for people with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorders and the likes. You will never see me posting anything there, because when I do and take the time for answering questions in a (sometimes more, sometimes less) comprehensive way, then I want those to be accessible and searchable for others, not only for some feed junkies ingesting everything that is being written there. That's my personal opinion. Everybody may feel free to like it, but not claim that it would be a matter of age, to which I can only respond that I would rather consider it as a matter of intelligence.

  18. I searched but couldn't find a similar request. If one exists with or without all of the options below then please lock this one and point me in that direction. Now that all users are required to login with username and password at least once on each app/device it would be nice to have the option to use a one time password (OTP) for the initial login on any device but mainly TV apps and streaming devices where it's difficult to enter long strings. It doesn't need to be limited to initial login but should at least allow that. 1. Allow any user who is already logged in to an app or browser to generate a one time 4-6 character OTP for themselves to enter on a new app/device in order to login on said app. This would only log them into their account using the single OTP. 2. Allow an admin account to generate an OTP for any specified user to login. This would be useful for Emby admins to help remote users, particularly those who have difficulty with apps and on screen keyboard-remote combinations. Or to help household users while away from home... 3. The generated OTP would be associated with the corresponding user, either self or assigned by admin. No need to enter or select name on the app login screen, the OTP would suffice. 4. The OTP should be created with a short time to live, either fixed or configurable. I don't know enough about Emby Connect to suggest how it should/could work for those users. EDIT: Evidently Jellyfin has a similar feature called Quick Connect but I don't know if it also has the ability for admins to generate codes.

  19. So Luke and Crew will be along to help with the OCR question but I can tell you that the reason it didn't update is the same as the one here: If you are using the TrueNAS Core plug-ins you will have to either wait until the pkg manager updates to the newest Emby release (sign up for email alerts or monitor https://www.freshports.org/multimedia/emby-server/ directly) so that the update button works in the GUI or manually update the package in the plug-in jail using the command in the above thread. The lag in versions is one of the downsides of the plug-ins build into TrueNAS.

  21. OK I see the issue. The fix for this will be included in the Emby Server 4.8.2 maintenance release. You'll need to refresh metadata once you have it. Thanks.

  24. library.db is 452 MB. I don't remember the previous data cache size value but I changed it to 4000 MB. I only run emby on that computer and it has 16GB of RAM. It is much snappier now and I like it. Thanks again

  27. IMDB no as they want a pretty penny to utilize any information of theirs (legally). TMDB does not have trailers. But do have links to YouTube trailers that users assign to media. But the issue overall here is more toward upcoming/future movies ie the Trailer plugin.

  28. The default 96. PRAGMA cache_size=-98304 But with 12 libraries I would think that is low, but I guess the question really should be how large is the libary.db. @LongMan

  29. Thankfully not you cus I don’t even have that crap download. It’s was a mdb list no idea what the criteria used was but it was automatic generated so probably IMDb/trakt ratings Id never watch anything my shared users watch they watch a bunch of shite marvel crap.

  30. Hi, Finally I found the root cause: the gpu mem size was too low, and likely it was not enough for higher quality videos. If you face similar problem, just increase the value of the gpu_mem config to higher value in the /boot/config.txt. For me the original 32 MB was not enough, but the 64 MB worked. Regards, Zsolt

  31. They seem to be using a godaddy certificate, there shouldn't be anything wrong with it, unless it's a new CA that this Windows 7 machine doesn't have. You should really upgrade.

  32. Who doesn’t have all the top media lol. Also if you don’t have it in your library you wouldn’t see it because you wouldn’t have ids to match ….. the ability to create collections like this is highly wanted lol. Plex has an entire 3rd party PMM for it they people want them to support emby but they said no. Who wants a top list of what your users play and most of the time people don’t really share and want these lists because emby doesn’t have discovery like plex does to show them new top media.

  33. I don't have a monitor or TV near my workspace, but I enjoy watching content while I work. My 14-inch laptop screen isn't ideal, so I use a stand for my Samsung Z Flip 4 phone. Unfortunately, due its 22:9 aspect ratio, I still get black bars on all sides of the videos, literally even the top and bottom. Manually changing the aspect ratio for each episode is frustrating. It would be great to set an aspect ratio per device or even have a pinch-to-zoom feature.

  36. I actually now mostly like the "not knowing" what is coming and the uncertainty of how things are progressing. Emby fails some/a lot of the time to get fixes out but, so far at least for me, they have never failed to fix serious problems in a timely fashion. I have "to me" there are many "important" fixes/features that Emby has not fixed/implemented but none of those keep me from using Emby to good effect. It seems that Emby is very good at fixing/preventing problems that effect the entire user community but not so good at fixing the little irritant problems that pretty much everyone has. I do NOT trust AI at all and I wish it could be totally avoided but lazy people will use it and abuse it and those of us that do not like it really have no way of avoiding it. To have "artificial intelligence" you must first have actual "intelligence" and there really seems very little of that in the current world.

  37. For answers of those kinds, AI will take over shortly. It's always available and has more relevant information than any other user who might accidentally be attending within those 30 seconds. So, speaking of modern, I think this way of interaction is almost a thing of the past already. And for those kinds of questions which neither chat participants nor AI can answer, you will continue to find the answers only here in the forums.

  38. Every single discord server I've ever used was a god awful mess that's impossible to find anything useful in. Discord is a group chat platform; trying to track requests, issues, and individual conversations is a nightmare. Particularly for people that dont have the time/energy to read/scroll through mountains of messages every day. Fine for a random group chat with friends; terrible replacement for a forum and large communities.

  40. I did notice that the multiple sessions only appears on the dashboard (same user/device flips between multiple different shows and all are at the end of the program), they do not appear on the user sessions screen. And for me, has only appeared for Roku devices, even though others have transcoded. Apple TV and Browser seem OK.

  41. I just reset the server again and cleared out a bunch and have a clear log. Once I see it again ill upload a log file.
    1 point
  42. If you cannot find any ffmpeg logs then it appears that transcoding is not working for some reason. Can you please try this? Enable debug logging in the 'Settings' page in the Logs section on the server Restart the server Make one test trying to play on the old LG TV the file you provided here https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/125587-مشكله-بعد-التحديث/&do=findComment&comment=1328840 Attach a copy of the server log for this test Please let me know what the time was when you made this test so that I can confirm I am checking correctly in the server log. You can then turn of the debug logging on the server once this test is complete. Thanks

  43. Yes it is. I imagine setting the sidebar to hidden could be retained by saving a setting somewhere, as could not having to reset my dashboard colour to dark (from light) every single day as well.

  45. That is essentially what the plugin is already doing. I agree it could be cleaned up, but that is not the problem. The most critical part is the check whether or not the movies are already grouped so it doesn't attempt a regroup on each run. This requires that the plugin picks up all files that exist for a movie. Due to the way the movies are currently queried, strm files or files in subfolders (and possibly other cases that I am not aware of) will be missed and the plugin gets an incorrect item count and the movies won't be grouped. It is probably easy to fix (just use recursive = true), but would require testing the various different cases also in combination with other plugins, which I am not willing to do, mostly because it works fine for me as it is but honestly also because I don't really like to do free work for a profit-oriented company that has been ignoring this (in my opinion basic) functionality for many years. But it seems like you already did the work. Would you be willing to share?

  47. Also another bad User Experience call is that you have to go an extra mile and toggle the Upcoming Episodes in order to see them. Wow, I think who planned these, didn't think clearly that this is a bad bad design! So disappointed!
