  1. Hi, we'll hopefully have it out in the next 1-2 weeks. We're working hard on it. Just finishing up closing the last few open issues.

  4. So, usually this place is filled with the series/season thumb or an fanart pic. I guess that's okay, no spoilers and all, but it gets boring real quick and to me it would make much more sense to have the episode thumb/screenshot there (maybe with the series logo added somehow). The only way to get it that way, is by deleting thumbs and fanart completely, but the latter are used on different places too, so I want to keep them. How about an option to use ep-thumbs for "continue" and "next up"?

  5. I just noticed that when i click the watch trailer button on a movie, it plays a nice 1080p video, but the videos in cinema intros are all terrible quality. unwatchable. not to mention the languages are all over the place. would be nice to implement a way to filter these trailer selections somewhere. language and exclude any 480p or x quality trailers.

  6. I would like to submit the quality of the trailers as well as the mapping of the trailers to the respective national languages as a request in order to increase the priority. Please vote with "Like". Many thanks Seger

  11. A310/A380 is the obvious choice as it will destroy the 1050Ti in all aspects, but another option is to just redirect part of a case fan airflow over the heatsink - this will keep it under the thermal throttle which is all you want. Janky as hell but a bit of cardboard cut from a cereal packet and some cable ties will work wonders ...

  12. Hi All, I am part of the team that provides the XML guide service @ XMLTV.net. Recently just started using Emby and the guide looks to work well. If there are any issues or requests please send post on the site or DM me. Please also be aware that we are limited by the source data we provide and Australian freeview channels are notorious for not providing repeat or episode data.

  13. I don't chime much if ever, but I had to say something about this. I don't see people here being toxic, self-entited or whining. They are genuinely curious as to what's going on with this release. The fact of the matter is that a concerning amount of time has gone by since the last major release (May 2022). I'm a dev myself so I understand development takes time and that we all want a polished release with as few bugs as possible. But it's become generally accepted in the software industry that smaller, more frequent releases is the better model. Sometimes that's not possible, and products need a complete overhaul and that takes time, but I don't think that's the case here? at least I haven't seen anything to indicate so, so I think I and others are just wondering why we've gone from fairly frequent releases to massive once a year or two releases?

  14. Yes they are one feature of many included with Premiere. Our source for high quality trailers was removed last year and we are doing our best to find the best way to replace it. However, it isn't the highest priority thing we are working right now. We apologize for the disruption.

  15. It's almost like Luke the team have more important things to do than calm down whining little brats. I'd like to see people try this on the Plex forums where devs don't comment and problem reports are closed due to inactivity without the issues being resolved at all. How much freaking hand holding do you all need? If you could all just shut up and let the devs do what their good at instead of criticizing them, bad mouthing them, etc, they would be more appreciative. The comments in here are why projects die, as the devs feel the community is toxic and not worth their hard work and effort. I've seen in many times in the decades I've been online where the community's negativity has caused good projects to die because the devs have had it with their users being such a burden. That's the problem with social media these days. Morons think they know more than the experts, and they flaunt their ignorance and think it makes them powerful.

  16. Are you still on Win 95? the only times I’ve had to reinstall an OS (Winblows/Linux) this century was because of a hardware failure or my own stupidity…. power failures may take a little time too repair but no big deal... Absolute nonsense, Life-time device $5 just works for any server. $120 for server can be used on more than 1 server. What are you talking about? Hu? Then you should be suing Microsoft or your PC manufacturer. reenable? beg for what? Really if that is true then you know that it will be summarily dismissed. what do you give away for free? You really need to sober up (or maybe get wasted) then find a friend to help you setup and use a better PC

  17. Yes, but it's OK to wait for the 4.8 stable release because it's coming soon. Hopefully that resolves it. Thanks.

  19. It's embys fault your hardware/setup is garbage? Interesting... Maybe try a stable OS on decent hardware (a UPS would help a lot) or actually setup a proper backup solution instead of blaming others for your failings. You shouldn't have to reinstall everything, ever. Emby isn't responsible for your systems crashing in a storm and you not having a decent backup+restore solution for this problem you knew would happen and failed to plan for. (once is one thing, but 'every god damn time'? Clearly this is a known issue in your systems that you could have planned for and fixed) Perhaps there is a bug related to single-app purchases, especially as they should be entirely unrelated to your server, but you need to actually provide information to be able to investigate and solve whatever issue there may be. What clients (and versions) on what devices/platforms, purchased how/when, what actually happens when you try to use an app you've purchased, etc. You've not made any threads requesting help or providing info regarding this issue until now as far as I can see. Are you actually looking for a solution, or just a wall to scream at?? Emby is not against you, but you certainly seem to be acting like they are. That won't help you work towards a solution at all. Take a step back, gather as much info as you can about the problem, then create a bug report here on the forums so it can be investigated and solved for you and others that may encounter it. Hostility just makes everyone want to leave you to deal with your issues alone.

  20. That's what I asked for originally but EBR made a big fuss about virtual views required. Emby git it right some releases then changed on belief that Spotifys UI must be right. It isn't in my opinion as a useless list of albums isn't what I want. Genre then artist then the albums listed. Only stuff that has the id3 tag for the genre would be included. If a view option it needs to be sticky too, so that you don't have to keep setting it. There is existing ui space for that under display options for library options.

  21. Two suggestions: (1) Have a UPS to condition the power to your computer, and make power loss more controlled. A mere power loss doesn't usually require a reinstallation of Windows. (2) A backup, to remove the need for most rescanning. Also, what do you mean by "reauthorising the apps"? Surely they are authorised through the store you bought them from. The server, without Premiere, is free - why do you think the server is asking you to restore a purchase, and why would that lead to rescanning? Paul

B, this text? i personally like the overlay over the title that the image kind of moves forward but i can understand why it looks bad/does not work C, you mean like this? (if the buttons are white on white i accidentally gave the wrong zip file)

  30. It's uses a technology called Chromaprint - effectively an AUDIO fingerprint of the first 10 minutes of the episode - these are compared against each other for matches - and that part is singled out as the Intro. We used a combination of things including Black Frame Detection for the credits - but the core does not do this as it has no need to, from my understanding, it just uses Chromaprint.

  31. Can anyone confirm if using the "Playback Correction" option in the Android TV app will cause the item to play properly (basically, make it transcode)? if so, we may have to put in a workaround to transcode these until Amazon issues a fix.

  33. Hi, could be due to differences in library options, differences in what metadata was available at the time the content was first scanned into the library. One could have had a random failure to download internet metadata. It's really hard to answer without looking at a specific example, and that example would have to be new content added to both servers as it will be next to impossible to try to figure out what might have happened in the past.

  37. Being old is not a disqualification (I'm 77, for instance), but lack of experience is harder to overcome, I'll admit! Anyway, first let's be sure what you think you're getting. Emby is not a streaming service; it's expected that you will install their server software and use it to stream your own media (DVDs, downloads, home videos, live TV...). Or maybe someone in your family is providing you with access to a server they've set up - in which case they should tell you how to access it. When you use an Emby client, the IP address you specify is that of the machine the server you are going to use is installed on (your own, only if you have just one machine and have installed on that). The port is specified after the IP address, separated by a colon, like 192.168.1.73:8096 - the "8096" is the port, and that is the default for an Emby server, but can be changed. If you are wanting to install your own server, then the Quick Start which Luke linked is the initial guide. Paul

  38. +1, I just found this thread after experiencing the same "why am I seeing albums, not artists?" question after tapping on a genre. However it's done under the covers, you might include an Album/Artist toggle at the top, along with the Play/Shuffle/Sort/Filter options.

  39. ok - when I get some time, I'll look to add this as an option to prefix the description with the codec details above - default will be off..

  40. The only time it is simple and easy and mostly safe to move from beta to release is at the time of a full release that ends one beta and starts another. At that point the database and overall structure of the beta will be identical so changing to the "release" is pretty much seamless. However we have been a VERY VERY long time on this beta so it is possible that something has been overlooked but, if something is waiting to bite us in the butt, it will probably bite those upgrading from 4.7 to 4.8 before it bites those moving from 4.8 beta to 4.8 release (or whatever it gets called) The move from 4.8 beta to 4.8 release involves a LOT fewer objects than the 4.7 to 4.8 move. But most of the data differences are already in 4.8 beta so you will probably not run into any extra problems if you upgrade to 4.8 beta and then to 4.8 release than you will by simply waiting for the release and going directly there. For the rest of this I am going to assume that the release of the release will happen pretty soon. If it gets delayed by much, that is if it stretches beyond a few weeks then all bets are off and there is no safe reason to go to the beta. I suggest an upgrade to the beta and then another upgrade to the release as that seems to be pretty safe. FWIW: That would put you no worse off than the rest of us on the beta. I have been planning to go to the release as soon as I reasonably can but I have been planning that for months and it has taken so long that I am not sure it will actually happen. The simple fact is that if you go to the beta there is no guarantee that you will be able to, seamlessly, go back to the release at any point anytime soon. Emby is very good about support but they are also not very good at predicting where there code will go. It almost looks like Emby really does not have a good idea of how to make their beta release worthy. It keeps getting pushed back and delayed and it seems that "deadlines" are just pretty flags to wave at as they race past them. If I had my druthers I would have, what seems a year ago, not chosen to use the beta. As much as I enjoy testing and like having access to latest features it is no longer worth the insecurity. So, bottom line, there are really no negatives to going with the beta except the insecurity of not knowing when you can go back to the release.

  45. Is this part of a bigger revamp of the home screen itself, or did you mean only the settings? Because in my opinion the home screen needs to improve drastically. More dynamic, more individualism, more interesting categories to show, maybe a configurable featured section etc. Basically, there should be something new to explore, every time I visit it. I mean, it's not even possible to put playlists or genre on the home screen, whether it's static or dynamic. I would really love to hear a little bit about your plans regarding the home screen, if you can share anything

  46. Second this! Switched from Jellyfin to Emby, because of built-in features like scrubber images or intro-skipping. But this is one thing I really miss from Jellyfin. There, you could just set a checkbox in the settings to show the episode thumbs instead of the show thumbs. For me, it'd make this whole section more interesting. I guess there can be rare occasions where such a thumb can spoil something, but I personally can't remember a single moment where that was the case. Actually, most of the time, these thumbs make me want to watch an episode, because of what they're showing.

  47. Series Thumb? is that each episode thumb? if there is a thumb file for the series what is it called? i don't think i've seen one of those before. for that example each episode has its own thumb I rather have the episode thumb instead of the same picture all the time when there's a new episode, don't want to take off the fanart because is the background.

  48. Hi Guys, I recently moved from Kodi with MySQL for lack of proper multi user management and server side support, I have to say I'm impressed with Emby. Together with the Kodi Plugin it really takes the solution to a whole new level, count me in among the supporters! One feature I would like to see is the ability to recommend movies or shows to other users: I share my Library with close friends and family but it is a big library so they are always calling me to recommend them a movie to watch. It would be really cool if after watching a movie I can click a Recommend button and choose the users I think would like the movie, then it is displayed on their suggested movies at the top with the name of the user who recommended it... Sorry if there is something like this is already there, I am new to the interface and don't fully know it but could not find such feature... Thanks!
