Hi Because TuneIn plugin doesn't work as it should most of the time I've just started playing around a bit with the strm files mentioned above and find that it works pretty well. I discovered a few things - At the moment I have created a new music library and set the sort order to "Exact" so that I have separate folders for Artist/Stations, Album(s)/Stream(s). Some stations have more than one. So I thought it would be nice if there was a separate library type for web radio that displays the correct name in the top bar. - If there is a separate library type, you might be able to enable the client app to buffer, say, 15 minutes (or perhaps configurable) of the stream so you can rewind some time - At the moment I have saved the images of the "Logo" stream as "folder.jpg" as described in the media preparation list, but when I add a new stream it shows up but the song/stream only then automatically updates the image once played. - I was impressed by how “well” it worked and tried it out in the car on the next trip. Everything was working fine until a network change occurred and the stream stopped and never played again. Additionally, the app crashed after some time after the stream stopped. Maybe there is still some time to implement the features that would make the app more universal. "One for all" PS: The TuneIn plugin could potentially benefit from some features. I probably wouldn't use it since I only listen to some radio stations that I want to add manually.

I took my wife and 4 step kids to the light show at the zoo. Normally I go do something for a couple hours and then pick them up. Last night we got there early so there was easy parking so I decided to just sit there. Made a phone call then had nothing to do and then I realized I had emby on my phone. Next thing you know my phone was cradled hands free in the bottom of my truck's steering wheel and I was watching movies on emby. The time passed quickly and I enjoyed the movie. I realize this is one of the things emby is for but it is not something I thought I would never use as I'd rather cuddle up on the couch, lay in bed, or sit in my comfy chair in my office and watch a movie, and it was definietely cool sitting there realizing all the technology we have at our disposal. Being old it still amazed me. I used to carry multiple large boxes of cassette tapes in my car for my personal music and now I can either stream over 100K songs from my emby server or use the 20K+ that reside on my phone.....but to watch a movie from home that I recorded off TCM while sitting in a parking lot downtown was quite the leap from those old days. Kids don't realize how spoiled they are LOL.....but they are having their creativity stolen and their brains turned to oatmeal, but that is a different topic. I just wanted to thank and wish a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all those that work hard at emby to give us all this great product that has totally transformed my life and how I think about and use my huge media collection.

Another difference is that the first is a raw filter. the second is a dedicated api that emby apps use to ensure that every app is displaying the same thing. It also incorporates any user or server settings that might affect the results, whereas the raw filter does not. So use the second method ideally if you want to match Emby apps. Use the first if you want more control.

Hi, you can't create a new field, but what you can do is use Tags to tag media and create custom groupings. You can also use the collections feature and add items to your own Collections.

The emby library for personal media is built in the following way: Library "Pictures": \media\pictures\2020\2020-01\pictures Library "home video": \media\homevideo\2020\videos In Kodi I use the embuary skin and have own main-menu-entries in the main menu for each library There are no synced nodes definded which I could use in the way I need it. I need a folder view for pictures beginning in the main folder "pictures" so I can easily navigate i.e. to 2021/2021-03 to start a diashow there. For home video a folder view would work, too. But using the "collections" is usable as well. I acces both though the addon. videoaddon >>> embynext-gen >>> dynamic nodes >>> home video >>>> collections Really strange is the cicumstance, emby shows the word "Musik" on the upper left. Maybe there is something wrong with the database and Kodi "thinks", the content is music instead of video respectively pictures? How can I export a debug report on my nvidia shield? @GrimReaperthank you I figured out how to do it on my device, your able to create the emby server program files as a shared folder inside the NAS software. And once I loaded the .dll file it went to work, already merged all the files. I appreciate your help

Hi. Items/Resume is the "Continue Watching" end point so it is only going to return the next up episode for each series (which probably doesn't even have a resume point itself). Your other call will return anything with a resume point. So, yes, very different usage.

Not sure, tbh. You can start and then post here once you hit the wall so we can assist you as you go along. Begin with three-dot menu on TV show level>Add to Collection, pop-up will open where you can add that show to either existing collection or you can create a new one. Once all desired movies/TV shows added, in that Collection's Edit metadata dialog change Display order to: "Sort Title", after that adjust each item SortTitle fields manually until they're shown in desired order. You could've just changed Edit Metadata>Display order on series level to: "DVD" and Refreshed Metadata afterwards (note that that your files must be named SxxEyy accordingly, i.e. https://thetvdb.com/series/firefly/seasons/dvd/1). yep that’s how it’s done. -Have a series you want to have intros for -Manually mark a few intros then use the extract to extract the audio fingerprints for the intros -Use these to detect the intros in all the other episodes The extraction of the audio fingerprints for a series should only really need to be done once by one person and they can then share this with others. This did not work as no one in the community wants to participate in this. I had set up a web portal so the community could come together and submit audio fingerprints but only a very few participated, and we ended up with a few dozen series. After about 12 months of hosting the web portal I shut it down. As stated in the first post I then moved all we had collected over to a Git repo that people could submit their shared into theme audio fingerprints by submitting using pull requests: https://github.com/faush01/ThemeCpData/tree/main/intro_cp_data and you can use this repo in the setting of the plugin as the main source of audio fingerprints, if the repo contains the shows you are interested in. See the first post for more info. So you can use this plugin and it will detect intros for you if you set it up correctly however you will need to do some work for that to happen. And like everyone else on this forum your response will probably be "Ain't Nobody Got Time For That" and move on to the fully auto version

Enable option to delete seems not to work (I don't see any delete option in a movie or TV show context menu). 9.x does work very well globally.

*EDIT Ok so i looked into this and i think this is because all of my USA map guides from emby were unset? all my canadian ones were okay. you need to find which guide source was unset and just set it back and save your config. Guess we are all here for the same reason! My emby is set to show holiday themes auto magically and the Christmas one kicked in today. But no actual suggestions. If I hit search and ask for Christmas then I get a bunch of episodes with Christmas in the title.. Would seem logical that if there are no suggestions then just hide the prompt.. it worked ok at Halloween but I guess I don't have any movies tagged with holiday..I don't mind the red theme and even the jingle sound but a popup about recommendations should have some recommendations, or not be there At least I can uncheck the theme suggestions box

Kind of a nitpick but I'd also like to brand my family server with a logo that appears on apps and whatnot. Maybe the Emby brand could appear as a "powered by Emby" or something? To be honest my family couldn't care less about the tech I'm using, but that is very clear in other ways than having a brand and overall look and feel imposed by the app. At the same time I'd like more customization, I'm also grateful the development team seems to prioritize things right so in terms of functionally and overall quality Emby is impressive. The resources are definitely being spend on stuff that matters the most. Maybe a good compromise that wouldn't take too much effort is just allowing branding and background images to be replaced by server-hosted ones, and picking a color an perhaps even some fonts, that are applied across the board. Just my two cents... I'm coming from Kodi btw, but wanted something that works on more platforms. So far really enjoying Emby, but will miss our family branding and backgrounds

I's like to see a separation between movie playlists and music playlists. I've started using Emby instead of Spotify, and it works quite well overall, but the playlist screen gets mixed playlist types.

An update went out to our Alexa support a few days ago. Next step is adding more languages.

Thank you for mentioning this method. I was using the IPTV plugin but it did not work with Carplay. Using this method I was able to setup a playlist and now can use Carplay to switch between channels using my steering wheel. Thank you!!

Personally I think playlists are almost unusable until we get separate playlists for individual users.. I chose Emby over Plex mostly because I wanted to share my media library with my family and friends. Emby looks and performs better (in my opinion) than plex for sharing with non-tech savvy family. That said, when all users get all playlists and everyone can edit them regardless of who created the list, it becomes unusable. This makes me reconsider offering my music collection to my family, as it is in my opinion the one section that really needs playlists, but in its current form is more of a hassle than a feature.. Please Emby team.. Before adding bells and whistles to playlists, give us the basic functionality we need.. individual user playlists.
