It has been about an hour since I factory reset my router and set things up the way I wanted. I am streaming a 4k (MP4 HEVC movie 7 mbps) right now with no apparent issues. I'll report back in 24 and see if it begins again.

It would be nice from a show or movie screen to be able to remove it from a collection. Having to go into the a collection and remove is a pain. Recently I have been making collections for shows for different days of the week. We do theme nights. Once a show is watched once, I want to remove it from the collection. I can easily see the show in next up and click on it but can't remove it. I have to go into the collection to do it.

Even if Emby had 300 people, I'm fairly sure TVNext still wouldn't have been integrated

*EDIT Ok so i looked into this and i think this is because all of my USA map guides from emby were unset? all my canadian ones were okay. you need to find which guide source was unset and just set it back and save your config. I found and downloaded an Emby for android apk version 3.2.26 from apk mirror, that doesn't block the emby server version 4.6.7. All good now and no issues.

I had a something like that happen to my server once. And it turned out to be windows defender, scanning my nas.

#1 The technology used ti detect intros compares the same audio passage used between multiple episodes.. thus you need multiple episodes for it to work. Minimum 3 episodes is required as sometimes the first episode contains a different/longer intro. #2 this is done for all episodes within the same l season - again because a season intro may change across the show #3 the client can show the 'markers' if required or use the chapter api plugin to see them all in detail #4 if you want to see real time progress, then turn on debug logging and look at the log. Intro detection can be a very slow progress if you have 1000's of episodes etc I hope that helps ..

Based on my investigation, the current issue lies either with Emby itself or with Windows Server. This is because using http://localhost:xxxx/ to open Emby also results in lag.

Morning all The extended device limit options were not even remotely confusing. Trying to determine which features within the server config will allow a device to possibly be added to the Premiere list, by manually cross-referencing with the feature matrix, is much more confusing. Could I suggest that the config interface displays a mark against the options which relate to Premiere features (maybe with a green "*" or something), highlighting that enabling it would result in a device being added to the (non-accessible) Premiere list, allowing us to better manage it, and keep it lean. Access to the Premiere list would also be nice. Currently, I don't think that I've enabled anything for any users which involve Premiere features, and so assume that no device is on the list...but without seeing it, I'll never know. Just my thoughts. L

@seanbuffI have an Update I was searching within Emby using “Dwayne the Rock Johnson” and this resulted in the YouTube videos. However, once I searched for “Dwayne Johnson” it worked as expected; it displayed my movies where he played in. Thank you for your help and my apologies for the confusion.

OK, I can't find a network cable long enough to do a wired test. I did download a wifi analyzer and my house is clean. I can pick up distant SSID's, but they are very, very weak - 29% signal strength. That being said, I think I am going to do a factory reset on my router. I did a firmware update a while back, and Netgear is crap when it comes to software. Small tip to anyone reading this - never buy a Netgear router unless it is supported by aftermarket firmwares. Netgear sucks!

I ended up rebooting kodi and the media sources were there but still wouldn't work as path was invalid, and everything kept freezing. I ended up deleting the kodi install and removing all userdata Installing it again, adding the beta repository instead of the stable and it all worked fine. Not sure if the kodi install had something wrong or the stable version repository didn't play well with the 20.2v of kodi Works now

With more channels, it seems to me even more important to have fast channel switching.. It's not the format which made things faster. It's the technology behind, called the StreamBufferEngine. It allows "reading-while-writing", so the player side was able read the data at the very same moment it was made available for writing, because data near the "live edge" was buffered in memory. Read-write from the same file is basically possble with any file and without a "StreamBufferEngine", as that is an OS feature, but the big difference is that something needs to be written to disk first before it can be read again and reading always needs to wait until a certain chunk has been written - hence the delay. Current Emby uses this method. TVnext is following a similar approach like the StreamBufferEngine (but less complicated and not with a custom format), which means that that the TV streams are processed in memory and sent to clients directly (if at the live edge), so it can happen that stream data is on its way to the client even before it has been written to disk. Changing frequency/transponder adds about 0.5-1.5s for cable and satellite unless the satellite dish needs to be moved to a different position. The only other thing what adds is decryption in case of scrambled signals but rarely more than 2-3s (all in case of DVB). Probably because it's IPTV now, which is technically different from those online "IPTV providers" (where you can get a picture quickly, but it's half a minute behind).

Hi - yea the HDR_Format settings look different to what the Plugin uses - it could be that it is a 1080p source, but saying just 'Dolby Vision' - it is getting ignored. If you want it recognised as DV8 - then change the HDR_Format to "Dolby Vision / SMPTE ST 2086" the same as every other DV8 out there .. Then re-process the file in the plugin so it can pick up the changes within the MKV.

there's nothing you can do on "premium consumption" one user can have TV, tablet and phone, will consume 3 premiums and there's nothing you can do about it. Except to scold the user and say "hey! use one device only please!" repetitively without knowing if the user reaaaaaaly consuming only one premium slot.

I'm in a similar line of thought. I've gotten plenty value from my lifetime sub and was considering purchasing the device expansion just to support the project more. I don't really want a monthly subscription though and have 0 use for a totally separate licence. @Luke @ebrWould you guys consider still selling them on request via direct message? I was going to buy the 25-user lifetime version with the discount, and then the 45-user expansion. However, I see that it no longer exists... I will have to continue with my monthly subscription... more and more limitations on emby.

For $12 per month = $144 for 1 year... vs $99 for a permanent upgrade. I don't think there was a problem with users being confused as the company looking to get more residual income. I call shinanigans.

Hi Guys, I recently moved from Kodi with MySQL for lack of proper multi user management and server side support, I have to say I'm impressed with Emby. Together with the Kodi Plugin it really takes the solution to a whole new level, count me in among the supporters! One feature I would like to see is the ability to recommend movies or shows to other users: I share my Library with close friends and family but it is a big library so they are always calling me to recommend them a movie to watch. It would be really cool if after watching a movie I can click a Recommend button and choose the users I think would like the movie, then it is displayed on their suggested movies at the top with the name of the user who recommended it... Sorry if there is something like this is already there, I am new to the interface and don't fully know it but could not find such feature... Thanks!
