This will be in Emby Server 4.8. How it Works: This requires that you enable remembering audio and subtitle track selections. this is enabled by default. The server will first check if you've previously played the video file, just like before, and if it has then it will use your previous track selections If not, then it will look at your last played episode of the same series and attempt to use the same audio and subtitle selections. Essentially it will take the languages of the tracks and put these languages at the front of the language priority list.

Greetings...A very important feature which I feel is missing is, a watch tracker...First of all, I'm not asking for a watchlist to mark "plan yo watch" shows...(I already use favorites tab for that)...I'm asking for a complete watch tracker....that'll show a users all the completed, currently watching (and if possible, Planned) shows list...I know that completed shows list can be found in library filters and trakt plugin can track shows progress...still, it would be nice to have all this information universally in a separate tab beside favorites tab...that way I dont have to go to trakt everytime to view my progress...it would be way more helpful than an entire tab for favorites imo...and since these datas already saved in the database of emby; i hope it won't be that hard... Another really important thing you could add in that tab is "currently watching"; like i've mentioned...(not continue watching...if you've finished a ep of a tv show it wont be available in continue watching, but you are still watching that show...Big brain idea: You can combine continue watching and next up section to get "currently watching"....if it's available in any of them...it will go to "currently watching") and if you like this idea and want to take it above and beyond...add another few buttons...that will be available inside a shows details page...1. "on hold" - currently watching shows that you have paused 2. "Dropped" - shows that you've dropped midway 3. "rewatching" - pretty self explanatory.... these buttons are less useable...so they'll only show up in a show's details page...details page will have a "+" button to add an item to the list...and from the dropdown you can select these catagories...here are some screenshots of a random app with this type of watch tracker.... I hope the devs will consider this, cause this will be really helpful for people with huge libraries and don't want to go to another app to view watch history...

Like youtube it would be nice to see what I have watched in the past. Obviously full history would be great, but even the last 20 etc would be helpful. For instance I just watched a file and I forgot the name, now it is off of most recent because I watched it but I would like to watch it again. @@Luke would this be easy to do?

Hi, I’d love that audio and subtitles choice would be saved per show, according to what you select on the last episode you watched. The main audio/subtitles parameters is a good point but there are many cases it is not enough and you need to adjust audio and subtitles at the beginning of every episodes. For example i like to watch Casa de Pale in Spanish with french subtitles, The Big Bang Theory in English with french subtitles, French TV shows in french without subtitles, ....

Hi is there a possibility to get a Parental Guidance Cleaner Plugin like the Genre Cleaner Plugin ? For US People probably has no sense but for people like me in Spain we end up having Movies with: ES-APTA, ES/A, ES-G, G ES-7, ES/7, ES-7, PG Etc. Now I've more than 60 different Parental Guide Codes for just 6 options (G, PG, PG-13, NC-17, R, X) Would be very useful to have somethig similar as Genre Cleaner to consolidate all Parental Guides for movies and TV Shows, otherwise it's impossible to filter by that. simple christmas themed background and snow animation for emby 4.7.14.0 (will work on any other version as long the ui file index.html is not different) make a backup of index.html in system/dashboard-ui unzip archive in system/dashboard-ui in a way that replaces index.html and puts the background image into the images folder christmas-theme.zip

The 100 level channels are faked by the HDHR for ATSC 3.0. The guide data is the same same as the -100 channels. Martin

Sure, but I am not interested in listening to audio books on the firestick. I listen to them on my phone (android) and that is where I am having issues with the progress markers, as well as "played" markers

I found the issue, will be fixed in next version.

I deleted all jpg,png,nfo,etc. files from all the folders and subfolders and asked Emby to refresh the metadata in the folder and it's doing exactly what I want. Looks like only about 20% of my series had metadata in the "wrong" place. Thank you! Emby rocks.

Yes. After going to the information - page of home videos there is no play button. You will have to start the movie by context menu (long pressing ok button on the remote). On "normal" movies everything works as it should, I think.

Yep, seems to be a bug. Also movie collections not working (in sync nodes). Will check it. Any other issues?

Changed from version 8 to 9 because of issues displaying starting home movies in collections. Not a good idea, it is really a early beta ;-). Home video collections don't work anyway, but and that is really good, folders of home videos are shown next to the not working collections. That is even better and more usable. If the collections would dissappear and only the folders would remain that would be a good solution. Pictures don't work anymore in folder view. The subfolders are not shown.

i did it just now, i tried it earlier but emby would not load at all, but i deleted and redownload and try again and so far live stream worked no errors. Thanks

That seems to have done it. The Blu Ray rips are now playing properly with the DTS audio tracks selected. Playback stats now show DTS-HD (software decode). Thanks.

That makes sense. As a former UX designer and current staff software engineer, information overload is definitely a real concern. I like this sub menu idea a lot actually, especially if it's hover based with the primary behavior still being the click behavior. In fact, implementing that would allow some additional clutter clean up. I'm thinking download vs download to, edit metadata/images/subtitles and of course, for me, mark unplayed/played. Another benefit would be allowing the home context menu and the details context menu to align better as space is less of a concern. Would love to be able to download or download to right from the home screen for things I've started. Maybe it is best I start a new thread specifically around context menu options and organization as this one has a lot of back and forth that I don't think will be helpful to others who may be interested, but obviously don't want to spam the feature request section. @GrimReaperif you like the suggestion of recreating the feature request with more clearly stated goals and a broader target, would you be able to archive this post

I agree in a perfect world both functions would be available. We just kind of have an already over-stuffed menu as it is so it's trying to pick the one you're most likely going to need. But maybe if we had submenus then you could hover over one and then get a submenu to pick one of the two.

Arghhh, found it. It was on the Docker parameters from the first screenshot. Is not using PUID/PGID, but UID/GID. It was picking the wrong user and not the ones with the permissions.

HI, no, there's never a second copy. There might be some files in media folders, others in the server's metadata folder, but never duplication. No and this might not have the impact you're hoping for. What this will do is possibly download new images that you don't already have and these will get saved according to the new settings. But it won't delete any images you currently have, unless you also check the box to replace existing images. The only problem with that is the new ones may or may not be the same as the old ones, and you may or may not like that.

Lag is not the issue. Again the issue is after watching a live TV channel for say 20 minutes and the TV program takes a commercial break Emby freezes and the only way to get it started again is to completely back out of the emby app, restart it and tune back to your channel. Very annoying.

Guess that leaves you with using multiple domains. One locked down with an ip whitelist for work, and an open one for family use. Alternatively you could create a user for each coworker that uses the system, then remove access for those that abuse your generosity. Then everyone gets their own 'up next' watch list too. I've used this approach for years. /edit distribute login info by having each member email you a request for access. You can send back a new user+pass along with a basic ToS. I explicitly state users caught sharing accounts will be immediately removed, no exceptions.

Under access of that user, untick device - all. And limit the access to what you want.

Hi The issue is apparent in all bit rate files and resolutions. I am currently experimenting with setting max bitrates as it was set on auto. To see if this solves the issue. Will update.

Yes it's all on direct play. It's only happening with this series I have. All my other doesn't do that even with dual audio. I do have another issue already opened where when it's not the default soundtrack selected for playback and its not the first soundtrack (like default #2) it doesn't select the right one. I think this one is partially solved, I have to test more. I do not reproduce the issue on webplayers or from theater app or Android device. It's only on this tv. I'll try on my google tv to see if it does the same thing.

@Gilgamesh_48, While Live TV may be unimportant to you, some of us use it as our primary source. I, for one, use it for all of my Live TV functions, watching sports and regular shows, scheduling and recording TV, etc. I also use CDVR, but mostly for porting shows over to Emby. So I will be extremely happy if NextGen TV is incorporated in the 4.8 release.

Often times when I see "Reason for transcodng: Media bitrate exceeds limit." in the info I wonder, what kind of internet connection do they have? I know this can cover multiple scenarios like bandwidth limit set for user, server, client side quality setting, as well as AUTO bandwidth detection... Can you PLEASE add to the dashboard the returned client bandwidth capabilities? The value you are getting from the client that tells emby its bandwidth abilities. While you are at it tighten up the spaces between lines on the transcode items, and align the results to the right instead of center.. MAYBE SOMETHING LIKE THIS :

I know you're still working on adding a user input to game file extensions, but can you please add .zip and .7z to every console here? I've done it myself manually several times, but every time there is an update I get screwed over. Once emby and gamebrowser update I lose all metadata and once I add the extensions back to the dll file I then have to re identify over half the game library... I'm sure you can see how annoying this can be. The only other option I have would be to turn off automatic updating, and I would rather not do that.
