Be able to create playlist based on a certain criteria, like genre and or year, in order to create a dynamic playlist that it refreshes automatically when new content is added. This way you can for example, create a tv comedy playlist from the 90's, or a new sci-fi Movies playlist. Some other criteria for rules could be the rating, watched/unwantched, score, tags, language, audio codec, etc The possibilities could be endless1 point

Hello everyone. I also tried my hand at designing a bit. I actually wanted it to be simple and in Emby green, but the more I look at the icons, the more I don't like them. Maybe someone is interested or has ideas to improve it. The icons are now only designed in German. Ideas, tips or requests for changes are welcome. embflix.zip Best regards Dicken1 point

4k transcoding even with tone mapping is not perfect. It is why people are told to never transcode 4k. In regards to quality, as I linked above, it needs far more bitrate to create the same quality as Intel Arc or regular quicksync. So if you're on data and trying to watch content on your phone, you will eat through your quota more than twice as fast with AMD doing the transcoding in hardware than you would with either quicksync or software transcoding.1 point

This is that post. But it was in regards to the Roku where to use an empty port the value must equate to zero. We will be improving this so you can also just leave it blank.1 point

Good news on this front. The issue has been resolved in the Beta branch. I posted about it back in September, and a build was release that same month that fixed the issue. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/121290-cancelled-scheduled-recordings-still-record/#comment-12802971 point

Hello, I have installed Emby Server on a Synology NAS to watch pictures on my 2017 Samsung TV and have exactly the same problem as described here. Initially I had installed the official version from the Samsung app store on the TV and now the latest beta 1.6.7 (from USB) - the problem still persists. One thought from me: Are the thumbnails embedded in the photos possibly being displayed here - and not the actual image in its large resolution? Note: Everything works perfectly in the Android app - the images are crisp here (high resolution). Regards Michael1 point

Why changing resolution etc works? Transcoding takes out embedded metadata. I have spent the last couple weeks chasing my tail on this. Futurama TV show has some issues with image quality in places so I have been ripping it nine ways from Sunday to try to eliminate them. First I find MKV's skip, all kinds of ripping skips suddenly. Bad disks? No. Just ripped a file in 4 different formats, h264, h265, and the same with QSV and NVENC encoders. They ALL skip in the exact same spots. But the files play fine on a PC. Turned off "pass through common metadata" on Handbrake and ripped it again? Boom.....skipping is gone. Just played three episodes and they all played without skipping. If you change the resolution and it transcodes it automatically drops the pass through meta data, so it plays with out skips.....1 point

In the meantime, go into the metadata for the content with the adult ratings and change the add date to several years in the past. This should take it off the latest sort on the home page.1 point

Changing the option only applies to new content added going forward.1 point

I was living in Dallas when the TRS-80 came out. I drove to FT. Worth (the Radio Shack headquarters at the time) and bought a TRS-80 with 64 K ram and no hard drive and no floppy drive. (It used a cassette player for storage.) Even then the licenses read that you had the right to use the software but it did not grant ownership. ) I REALLY wish I had boxed up that beast when I replaced it. It would be worth a LOT of money now. In fact I had the "opportunity" to read many IBM licenses for mainframes and those also granted "use" licenses but not ownership. I do not remember even one piece of computer software or hardware where "ownership" was granted in any official document. And, like I said earlier, the complier licenses explicitly gave the primary company the rights to any software compiled using the software. Side note: Initially those licenses stood up in court but several years later, the ownership was determined to be the writer(s) of the code which is why some royalties from that era continue to today. I still receive about $17.00 a month for some COBOL code that is still running on some financial entity's mainframe. And, yes, there is a LOT of very important code created using COBOL that is still running some very important financial programs. To be honest I always think of and treat software I buy as if I own it but I recognize that is nothing but an illusion. I even remove the "tags" from cushions and pillows. I guess I could be raided at any time.1 point

Really would love this feature, so i can create a list of unseen movies. Strange this isnt added yet, and the request is open for soi long time now. Hopefully soon....1 point

I need the same feature here , please. Things are being more and more difficult1 point

I HAVE THE SOLUTION. I had the same problem. When playing some DV encoded files through emby on an LG OLED with its native emby app, it is not recognized as DV. Some files are HDR10 hybrid, in that case it will fallback to HDR10. If the file only contains DV the colors are green and purple, but NOT EVERY file. First I suspected a meta data problem but then I remembered LG TVs can't play DV in MKV Files. DV can only be played in MP4 files. Thus the simplest solution is to convert your Dolby Vision MKV files into MP4. The caveat is MP4 doesn't support all types of subtitles and no chapters. You can do this with ffmpeg with following command: Adjust filenames/paths accordingly. The option "-strict experimental" is necessary, otherwise the HDR meta data is not transfered.1 point

Depending on your level of scripting knowledge - you can also get a little smarter and do a test for an 'rclone' file - if that is reachable, then go ahead and do a scan via the emby API (via curl etc), if that rclone file is not reachable - then cancel the scan - repeat this on a schedule. It would actually be a pretty smart thing to add to the 'scan' options ... @Luke1 point

So some reasons why customers would like OneDrive (on Synology in my case): 1. If you have Office 365 Family, you get 6 users (or 6 email addresses) with 1TB storage (paid for OneDrive is much faster than freebie OneDrive). In the UK a one year subscription to the public is as low as £39.99 and you can pre-buy 5 years worth in advance in one go. Cheap online backup solution. 2. My Synology NAS uses cloudsync to backup critical classed content to the cloud in addition to other back up options in place. 3. For a member of my family/specific Emby user account, I may wish to point a library at content in their OneDrive (like photo uploads from their phone to cloud OneDrive) and present that as a library but only to that user account or content in another OneDrive account if they didn't wish to share their login details for their own OneDrive account.1 point
