Thank you everyone for your help! I got all three of my servers to connect remotely through different ports. I left one server with its original port then changed the other two servers to different ports, set two new port forwarding rules on my router and I’m good to go. Thank you again2 points

Go to server settings>Library tab in the sidebar,>switch to "Advanced" tab up-top>untick "Display specials within srasons they aired in" That should take care of your Special episode. As for Season 2 episodes: TVDB lists single 25-episodes season https://thetvdb.com/series/fate-stay-night-unlimited-blade-works TMDB lists 2 seasons (12+13 episodes) https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/61415-fate-stay-night-unlimited-blade-works/seasons So, you either need to rename those Season 2 episodes as remaining Season 1 episodes as per TVDB or change the order of preferred meta-providers to TMDB on top in your library settings, Refresh Metadata>Replace all, lock the item afterwards and revert TVDB on top.2 points

Hey team. As my library has grown I've been browsing more using the Genre tab, but almost every time I scroll down the list the page refreshes itself and I'm thrown back up to the top of the page. It doesn't happen at a particular point in the list or with any particular genre. I'm using the latest Apple TV 4K with up-to-date tvOS and Emby app. If this is a new bug I can provide more technical detail if helpful. Thanks!1 point

On the TV client, it is recommended that when watching live TV, you can use the upper and lower arrow keys of the remote control to switch the previous channel/the next channel directly. At present, when watching a certain TV channel, if you want to switch directly back to the list and select another channel to play. The operation is too tedious. You are advised to optimize this function. The live TV function switches channels frequently. The current operation logic is too cumbersome. 1 point

FreeTV that's legal for emby For the m3u add '[redacted]" For epg tv guide add '[redacted' Now you can use [redacted] on your emby server all for free!1 point

Is it possible to make the channel guide in the web app to be more compact (vertically)? I don't like having to scroll up and down the screen to see all the channels. EDIT: I just saw the option to turn off the channel image, which did shrink it a lot, but the rows are still overly tall causing the list to be tall.1 point

True, SFN on most apps should display the Player (Exoplayer, Tizen player, etc) being used. I'm sure SamES can make it transcode Opus on Tizen when the channels is >6.1 point
-
Yes, same issue. The internal player does not properly handle Opus 7.1, giving the same results. I'm guessing Emby on Tizen is dependent on the internal player (no exoplayer packaged in like android). So rather than have them be unplayable, Emby should be force transcoding the audio moving forward, at least until Samsung updates their player.1 point

btw, avoid "mixed" content libraries (on Emby server). It just makes it harder to sync -> Kodi.1 point

Hi Sam, I appreciate your efforts so far to try to pinpoint the real issue. Sure, we can leave it this way as only this media causes issues within Emby. Hopefully this issue is not widespread. Up until now I have no issues with other media. Yes, I can still reproduce the crash with the sample file1 point

It doesn't separate them in the display at this point. It mainly just gives you extra storage options.1 point

@JunglejimYes I moved /Mediaunraid/Series/Cobra Kai (2018) [TvdbId=332858]/Specials/No mercy for Miguel (Teaser).mkv to specials without sXXeXX that helped. Not really sure if it was that, plugin update or a combination of both This 1 /Mediaunraid/Series/Cobra Kai (2018) [TvdbId=332858]/other/The Karate kid Is all grown up (Teaser).mkv got sorted after the plugin update rescan / refresh meta.1 point

This particular merge was caused by the tvdb plugin being a little too aggressive with episode matching by title. I pushed out an update to the tvdb plugin to resolve that.1 point

Hello, it's for any file with delay like this. Right now what I do is start in English and after 1 sec switch to the other track. I'll check if it's still doing it.1 point
-
Yes I think that would make sense.1 point
-
Well, I wouldn't say a lot. It could possibly be said in Emby I see a lot of empty space. But hopefully, If you shrink things a bit vertically, you can do a bit horizontally as well.1 point

Just a warning: Mainlining Emby is VERY dangerous. You should stick with eating it or smoking it or sniffing it. Emby does NOT mix well directly with blood.1 point

That doesn’t open a hole for emby. Proxy_pass acts as a middle man. It requests a page from the emby web server reads its html and then sends that read html to the user accessing nginx. It’s the whole point of an application server and reverse proxy. You can then add any additional security you want via nginx. Limit ip’s, rewrite code on the fly, force https, well, anything. This is also exactly how the security service cloudflare functions.1 point

You are correct, sir. Working great now. Thanks!1 point
-
Yeah, I guess it is kinda stupid to be concerned. I just like to make sure I can use all of the stuff that my equipment advertises. The TVs can use their higher refresh rate to help smooth out fast moving scenes if that enhancement stuff is turned on. So in that case I guess the TV would use the higher Hz anyway. I think I have that stuff turned off because all the pros say it just makes things worse.1 point

Mostly just my ignorance. I setup this server and Emby a couple of years ago and then just let it run. The instructions I used from another post on here in my attempt to update the Emby version failed, probably because they weren't exactly right for my version of Truenas/Emby install. Not a big deal ultimately, once I remember how the basics of Truenas worked. All my data is untouched, just took a while to sync my libraries for the first time once I got Emby configured again.1 point

OK strange. Seems to be working ok from here. Please let us know how the next build compares. Thanks.1 point

I'm hoping for a new and improved OTA television performance experience. As it is now, it simply takes too long to switch channels or do anything with timeshifting while watching anything, especially sports. Still on 4.7.x, to be fair I haven't tested it for 8–10 months but when I do, I am always disappointed in how it runs compared to Channels DVR.1 point

Unless you have native 120Hz media - then there is zero to be gained here and everything to lose (the client is going to need to work twice as fast..) All the '120Hz' refresh generally means is the display will refresh the same image multiple times to match the original refresh - so twice if using 60Hz, 4 times if using 30Hz etc. For games - then yes, the screen/pc/ps5/xbox-x etc can run at native 120Hz - but for media - the very best you are likely to see is 60Hz - known as HFR. Most media is either 23.976/24/25/29.976 or 30 Hz - and thus, while your TV is displaying it at 120Hz it's doing it by displaying the same frame multiple times. I'm also pretty sure that you need HDMI 2.1 for 4K @ 120Hz - which the Shield is not (I believe it's 2.0b) ....1 point

@WokenHi, Thank you for your feedback. In reality, I have been using multimedia solutions for more than 15 years, first on hard drives that had a mini OS and codecs adapted with a local drive, then with an HTPC under Freenas on a network, then with a NAS and a Corelec server on Cubox-i, then under XBMC, for some time with samba shares on a Synology NAS, and emby installed on a non-rooted Android TV (on which I cannot locally mount the samba for share it with an application)... I also have a KODI server installed on the same device which works perfectly well in samba, without any freezes or lags. And in the end, if I want to do without samba, I take the disk from my NAS and I put it in an external box that I connect via USB to my Android TV...There are plenty of solutions indeed! However: - I like Emby's client-server approach, and the fact of being able to install the client on many devices, which is much less native on Kodi due to its architecture. - For years Emby administrators indicated that only local shares were authorized, which effectively excluded all non-rootable devices, network mounts have been overdue for a very long time. - The new version "finally" brings this functionality which I think can be useful to lots of people. And it has to work perfectly before the final version if Emby wants the users who will use it to adhere without turning to another solution. - it also helps developers to test their solutions and provide them with exhaustive feedback which then allows them to correct for as many people as possible. They do a lot of work on the solution and can't test everything on all devices. So I will continue to test the releases, until the samba works perfectly Even if, you are right, for those who can, avoid this connection method.1 point

Thank you for this thread, @MacGyver27 it hadn't really affected me because I just was lazy and bypassed it through local IPs but once I go live it would be annoying and now it's fixed! To be clear about rbjtech's comments though, a typical setup should have rate limiting to slow down bots and other things from causing issues with your setup and/or brute forcing anything. It should be part of your larger security system around your apps that you host if you expose your system to the internet. Most Reverse Proxy default settings are generally not good enough for exposing a system to the greater internet.1 point

This is somewhat a MCE v.s. Emby Theater WMC gui compatibility issue: In MCE, when stop viewing a TV-recording, it asks what to do: delete or stay or...etc. which is very convenient. In Emby Theater WMC gui stop viewing a live-TV recording does'nt ask you: you have to re-select the recoding and then choose...which is not as convenient as it was in MCE. I've noticed that this is how Emby works with all sort of videos....thus, this is probable an MCE v.s. Emby Theater WMC gui compatibility issue ? Is this (extra?) delete-question possible to implement in Emby Theater WMC gui, as it was in MCE and make it more MCE-compatible that way ? Thanks & best regards, Peter1 point
-
Read the FR for some of the issues involved in that implementation. Really, the only way to accomplish what is truly desired here, IMO, is with some sort of option at end of playback - perhaps tied in with the "next episode" popup that is already there - could be a "play next and delete this one" option - but I think that should be only optional (enabled by the server admin per-library). Also, shouldn't be specific to this theme.1 point

The only one I know of is that green color variation which was essentially a hack. I'm not sure whether that's worth the effort. At least as far as I'm concerned: my eyes are bleeding when I look at it1 point

@roaku @BillOatman @rechigo @GrimReaper @ryzilla @Loefamily @johnnycash @adminExitium For those hoping to use WebHooks with Discord, I've pushed an update to the plugin catalog for the WebHooks plugin to allow you to configure the request content type, which you can now set to either application/json or multipart form data. This should make it a little more Discord-friendly. The update is targeting the 4.8 beta server so you'll need that to test it. Please try it out and report your experience. Thanks.1 point

Do you know if there will be a discount on black friday to buy a premium account for life?1 point

As a matter of interest, or not, in the NextPVR web page I can fit 22 rows while in Emby I can fit 17 (without the logo and I think I used css to make the rows narrower as well). And just to blatantly take the opportunity, in the new Android app, the mini guide in the OSD while playing a channel has a pathetic 3 rows(vs 6 for the Android TV app).0 points

I hope not. It would cheapen the purchases made prior to the discount. The only reason to do such would be if Emby were hemorrhaging money and absolutely had to have more cash. I think it would be one of the most stupid moves ever made by a software company.0 points
