Love the new ability to add Collections as a Home Screen Section. I've began using it similarly to how the big streamers display "content/brand hubs." My feature request is to be able to sort (and ideally select) the collections that get displayed on the Collections Home Screen Section. As of now (4.8.0.58 beta) all collections are included and appear in alphabetical order regardless of how the Collections Library is configured. I can see a lot of utility in collections and would love to apply them to more than just brand hubs, but currently cannot without having to have them appear alongside all collections in alphabetical order on the Collections Home Screen Section. Implementing this would also seem to provide the utility often requested in the forum to display custom or temporary/seasonal items on the home page for users. Just make a "Top 10" or "Seasonal Favorites" collection and sort it to appear in the Collections Home Screen Section. Thank you for the consideration

Hallo zusammen, die EMBY App auf meinem Samsung Smart TV verlangt nach einem Update. Ich habe mir wie jedes mal die aktuelle tizen.zip von Github geladen, die APP auf dem TV deinstalliert sowie die neue APP installiert. Leider erscheint beim starten der APP nach wie vor die Meldung das ein Update verfügbar wäre. Könnt ihr dies bitte mal prüfen? Schaue ich in die aktuelle tizen.zip rein so ist dort der Zeitstempel vom 12.10.2023 zu finden. Könntet ihr bitte mal die Datei dort gegen die neue Version austauschen damit die Meldung nicht mehr erscheint? Bisher gab es keine Probleme, immer wenn die APP nach einem Update verlangt hat war die neue Version bereits auf Github verfügbar... Vielen Dank an euch.

One of the problems I see is your overly complex passphrase that is using characters which may be interpreted by the shell and screwing things up. If you look at both passwords you can see something missing from the output: You could try the openssl test again but using the second password from the output instead: a8TqL*oE$FUod@fXWTP#kgLegB@Hw8#dc6CL Another option is to use a long password with alphanumeric characters only while keeping in mind that some symbols are interpreted by the shell whether on Linux or Windows. Quoting the password may help but at this point you don't really know which was used to create the keystore.

I've uninstalled it, I'll see how things go moving forward, I'm guessing anything that's not currently right will remain so, and wont be magically fixed. Is the dev of that plugin aware of the issues it's causing?

You seem to be suggesting that the same ID numbers can be used for both TV and Movies items. To the best of my knowledge this is not true of TVDB, but it is in the case of TMDB. Having separate TV and Movies libraries helps keep things working as you'd expect. If you use a mixed library, it is more important to stick to the guidelines to enable Emby to reliably separate TV series and Movies - in particular, in a mixed library any TV series should have a Season folder even if there is only one season as this is a major part of how it decides which type of item it is looking up. Well.... The ATV app is snappy, thumbnails load in miliseconds. In the standard app the navigation on TV does not feel as snappy. Thumbnails load in about a second. First the outlines load for the new row, then the system loads the thumbnails. And it is noticable, especially if you use both side by side. This on Shield, that is more capable TV machine than others built-in.

Then emby and plex should drop support for it, and just let the infuse guy do it all, I dont see a problem here lol, seems like your complaint is emby small and cant devote time to fixing their product, so stop dev on it and let other people do it. Also saying it doesnt matter that other devices support it, well clearly the device does support it if others can make it work huh. Lots of people like apple, pretty sure they are one of the top brands, and oh right, luke is trying to model is software afer their designs lol. whos MrMC? I dont have a boner for any product, I use multiple platforms and devices, I use the ones that work lol, I also have shields but those have aged out and nvidia has no desire to make new ones since nintendo dropped them. Apple also works amazingly well, especially if you have other apple products like most appletv people do. So saying oh plex is large and has money to do it so the product is hard, and oh infuse has been doing it for so many years so its hard, no the issue is emby is small and isnt devoting time and resources to fixing their devices most likely because they have a small income stream and market share, not because apple has a poor device, emby could also say hey guys we dont have the resources to devote to this we endorse infuse and maybe work with the infuse guy and make integration easier with some custom apis which would be backend changes which are easier to deploy, the issue is, emby loses money this way, so they would rather lock you into their apps so they can paywall them, this is fine if they can support the product, which seems like they cant, its not a device issue as clearly other apps do it fine, its like saying its shitty look netflix, apple, prime, all the streaming apps cant even do HDR/DV, nope they can do it just fine bud, so whats left. Pretty sure apple has a great dev environment as apple actually supports their devices and most apple products upgrade timely, unlike android.

More like crappy emby app, plex and infuse play it fine, just emby tends to have issues. Funny how plex and infuse are able to play the same files, and dobly vision better. I wouldnt say its the device since well clearly other apps are able to support it just fine.

I just bought new appleTV 4k and as far as I understand, Emby app does not support HDR/Dolby Vision? Also audio is out of sync. Infuse works great

OKAY, Progress. I kept noticing UPnP Errors in the logs, but didn't see any connection to the issues at hand. However, I seem to remember enabling the port forwarding manually in my router. I looked and it is. I also looked at my plugins on emby server and saw the port forwarding plugin was installed. I uninstalled it and restarted the emby server, and tried the Emby Android app 3.3.31 I had sideloaded, and all the files now direct play! -- COOL!! I uninstalled the Android app, and reinstalled the Fire Stick version 2.0.93a hoping this UPnP error thing was the issue, but the same behavior is still happening: transcoding some, direct playing others, the same files as before.... Emby for Fire Stick 2.0.93 is definitely borked up and needs to be fixed. I uninstalled 2.0.93a and reinstalled the Android 3.3.31 version, and again, all files played direct. Please advise Thanks Dave

@vdrover Wow our ini files are VERY different for both being in the US (I assume)! I'm going to give yours a try! My wife likes wheel of fortune and they do that nonsense where they have a commercial, Vanna talks for 5 seconds, then back to commercial. With my ini it screws up and shows the commercial after she talks every time. Otherwise it's damn near perfect, but my ADD won't allow me to let it go so I seek out the holy grail of comskip.ini files
