I re-discovered this while finding a bug in the new WMC beta, logged and navigation bug resolved at: https://github.com/EmbySupport/Emby.WMC.UI/issues/18 to summarize: me: I can’t find a way to go up from ‘shows’ to ‘filters‘ Is it because this is missing for “TV Shows”? And why are these options missing? @softworkz Me: In the case shown I’m in a library that contains nothing but old SD TV Series (OTA Recordings) so these options should be available. I know that is not always the case but the same could be said for a movie library that contains only a movie ‘series’ say something like ‘Lord of the Rings’, ‘Star Trek’, ‘Star Wars’, ‘Harry Potter’… Let the user choose to use or not. @softworkz So here it is, as this seams to apply to all clients. Thanks.2 points

Hello everyone. I also tried my hand at designing a bit. I actually wanted it to be simple and in Emby green, but the more I look at the icons, the more I don't like them. Maybe someone is interested or has ideas to improve it. The icons are now only designed in German. Ideas, tips or requests for changes are welcome. embflix.zip Best regards Dicken1 point

I have a couple of media folders holding football and basketball games I've recorded. I recently came accross a metadata website for sports called http://thesportsdb.com. Would it be possible to add a field like the other metadata fields to pull information from that site to fill in fanart, description, dates, etc.? Ii'm not sure if it would require a new media "type" folder called sports, similar to tv and movies. I've linked a couple pages, the first is the API for returning information from the db. http://www.thesportsdb.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5 The second is example json (I believe) data http://www.thesportsdb.com/api/v1/json/1/searchteams.php?t=Cleveland%20Indians1 point

H, yes it's an idea that we're interested in. Thanks.1 point

I approximate this by adding the sub-events as extras and using the title sort metadata field to order them. It doesn't allow for fully sorted playback, but it can be used now.1 point

Note that Public is "recommended" - but that is for security at a level which prevents file sharing or things like Emby. This is why you need to change it to Private, which assumes that the local network is a safe environment. Paul1 point

You can use another community-made plugin, which enables custom/external links to be shown in Links row as a button and link that reviews page.1 point

Upon troubleshooting, I am using a reverse proxy. I made a change I found here about disabling cache on cloudflare and it seems to have fixed the issue!1 point

Thank you @speechlesfor teaching me how to do this, I didn't even know I could delete the file myself, others didn't seem keen to help out, they just let me act like an hysterical idiot God bless you.1 point

Good night. Sorry for the delay. I wanted to let you know that I had to enable on-the-fly subtitle extraction in the server's transcoding settings, because the movies started acting up and getting stuck. The solution I found was to use a software (videoProc Converter) to extract all the subtitles from each movie and now the movies work perfectly and they take the subtitles without problems, because they are not embedded. I just wanted to let you know in case anyone has this same problem and close this thread. I thank you for your always help. @Luke @SamES1 point

Hi, we are following this to measure community support so that we can prioritize it. Thanks.1 point

A recent update to Chrome has added a list of TLDs which require extra effort to allow the use of http - ".dev" is one, and I have seen developers who use .dev screaming about the change. Paul1 point

I think people are just rightly frustrated at the lack of action. Let's not forget this thread was started in 2018, not as a result of the security incident. I'm hopeful that will have been the kick the emby team needed to start taking security seriously, but if we're still commenting in this thread at the end of the year perhaps it will be time to find an alternative.1 point

I think I figured it out on my own. well except the artist name. And a follow up question. Is it possible to display... up next music video title lets say as playback percentage reaches 95% (if you are playing more than one music video)?1 point

Given the latest events, isn't it about time the development team took this a little more seriously and stopped kicking it down the road? All internet facing systems in 2023 should have the option for MFA.1 point

I can see that being a problem. Just thinking out loud here. Since commentary and descriptive audio tracks are nearly always 2ch, what about only applying it to surround? Maybe a "Prefer surround sound if track exists" checkbox to enable and that allows access to a dropdown to select between 7.1 and 5.1. Or even 2 checkboxes "Prefer 5.1" and "Prefer 7.1". Perhaps down the road the process could be automated to detect the capabilities of the sound device hooked in to automate the selection of 7.2, 5.1, etc.. but to start it could be user selected.1 point

Hi Anthony! Fantastic job on the plugin. I recently noticed that one of my OnPlayBackStart Actions that is supposed to trigger a bash script stopped working. I don't know when it stopped but it was some time ago. Perhaps an upgrade broke something and I didn't read the change logs very well. Any how, the bash script takes some input variables (as shown in the screen capture that is attached) and then performs some logic to determine whether or not it should dim the lighting in the media room. As stated, this no longer seems to work. Oddly, when looking through all the logs, even with the debugging turned on, I see no reference to ScripterX trying to run the bash script. It is almost like it doesn't see the OnPlayBackStart item. I have tried deleting it and recreating it. No luck. The bash script is 755 so all users can run it, but again, I don't even think ScripterX is trying to run it. I even tried adding a simple "touch file" command so that a text file should be generated every time it runs. On the command line, from the machine with the emby server, the script runs and touches the file as expected. But through EmbyScripter X it does not. Another reason I don't think the script is even being called. Any suggestions to what I can try next? Hopefully you see something obvious in the attached screenshot. Again great job on this! Wish I had your skills.1 point

Just discovering this amazing plugin! Has anyone been able to get the sendmessage:sessionid working for onPlaybackStart, only can get it working on onPlaybackStopped. Thought it was a timing issue so used playback percentages to make it wait longer but it doesn't work at all. Really hoping to get his working as on content end is too late for example, notifying a user they are watching TV episode mid-way or the second movie in a series having not watched the first. I'm guessing based on the way Emby doesn't show the notification function until stream is playing there is no way to have it send a notification on sign in or landing page? Hello to the best dev on the forum. I was just wondering... Is it possible to integrate an option "run script" into context menu? Like I select a video or multiple videos and on right click, context menu shows option to run script and expands to a list of scripts. IT would be useful to move files, create screenshots if missing, rewrite nfo if not correct, upload hardcoded meta or subtitles, possibilities are endless. Thank you.1 point

Yeah. I don't know what happened to the original version of this. EDIT: Actually... it might have been blocked. Should I have done this? I recreated it, and it works now. DOWNLOAD: Restart_v1.zip I realize the built in emby version will only restart when updates are available. But, this will restart the server no matter who is using it, every day at 3:45 am (default). Is that what you guys wanted. It could check for users being connected before restarting, and then wait for the next appropriate time to do it...1 point

Some people do it with the free domain providers, not tried it myself but there are some out there I use ovh for all my domains and can be had for £1 plus £1 for anycast dns which speeds up propagation I know Youtuber TechnoTim / network chuck (1 of them) has used this for throwaway projects Free Domains Select the .tk domain or one of the otheres listed as provided free and give it a try1 point

I managed to follow your recommendations, I put the device where the cameras are connected, the NVD also went, but I was wondering if there is a way to open in "grid" for example 9 camera on the same screen, or will I have to create a file for each camera?1 point

There really isn't much to it. If you just stop using MCM, we will automatically go get the metadata.1 point
