Hi, I would love to have tautulli or equivalent for emby. Especially for people coming from plex, we would love to see something like tautulli. I know there are a few Statistic plugins but i think we all know there is nothing like tautulli out there. I love the way i see people currently watching movies on my server and the details of what is transcoding etc. i know emby also shows ppl watching movies but it isn't the same. I don't get a notification or even see a icon if someone starts to play while i have the emby page open. There is no icon that shows me someone is watching a movie. Tautulli is also open source so if someone has the skills in python to make it work for emby, this would be amazing. For me this is actually really the only reason I hesitate to switch completely. maybe someone can make this happen1 point

Hi, Thank you for the great product. It is a pleasure to use it. I have seen some posts but they are years ago regarding my request. Is there a plan to have notification (when adding movies, shows, live tv etc.) from the emby app ? This means to get a push message on my android phone, iphone, windows app, etc. With 3rd party software its not so cool. Thank you.1 point

Since we can now detect end credits, or manually add them in other cases, it would be nice to see this, rather than an automatic percentage/time remaining, trigger the "next episode" popup and decide whether an episode is resumable or not. Even better if it could expand to movies for the latter point.1 point

Hi all, Recently, in order to more efficiently use my storage space I have been enjoying using emby's conversion feature to convert and replace less frequently watched content with lower bitrate hevc/mkv files. Although I have the conversion thread count and performance settings set to max, one conversion job running at a time barely uses 15% of my R730's 48 CPU cores. Would it be possible to add a setting in the conversion menu called "Maximum parallel conversion jobs allowed" that defaults to 1 (one)? This would maintain the existing behavior but would allow us with many spare CPU cores to have more than 1 conversion job running and take advantage of our hardware. I've attached a screenshot of an example of a batch conversion job for a season of television that I feel would benefit from this added feature. Thanks for your consideration1 point

While Emby already has recommendations built in based on previously watched items I find they are not all that helpful. They seem to be based on genre only, for example, because you watched a comedy here are other comedies in your library. I do like how the also directed by/appear in recommendations work though. What would be great is if Emby could incorporate Trakt's recommendations as they are much more sophisticated. Trakt's recommendations are not only based off of what you have previously watched but also what your Trakt friends and other Trakt users have watched. It takes user ratings and trending/popular media into account. Ideally Emby would include full Trakt integration allowing users to rate media after watching, view lists and recommendations, and view upcoming media all from within Emby but for now I think recommendations would be a nice addition. Trakt has the potential to give Emby that community feel and allow users to discover new media, find something to watch, and recommend media to other users. http://docs.trakt.apiary.io/#reference/recommendations1 point

Could we get an user definable setting for how long to keep showing something in continue watching? Bonus points if it would take "air date" into consideration, i.e. if i set it to 30 days, it would keep something in continue watching until it had been 30 days since it was watched, or 30 days after it aired so that it wouldnt stop showing new seasons when they get released.1 point

So, already hello I had already thought of adding Emby support to the PMM project. After a quick read of the code, I think it's possible without too much difficulty. I've forked the basic repo to be able to test things out first and, if I come up with something, submit it to the PMM author. I think that if I'm not the only one working on it, it can go quickly. Here's the fork repo: REPO I'm willing to add as many contributors as I need if people want to help me. Like many people I have a job in real life so I can't work on it all the time. If someone has already started adding support for Emby and I haven't seen it (sorry) I'll help out if they show up.1 point

Can we stick to the merits of the request itself? For example, a scenario using your criteria would be for Anime that lacked subs in a given language, or had dodgy translation work. There are sites that do provide high quality fan subs.1 point

Are you talking about watching live TV on Emby? If so, you can, but you need to connect a tv tuner to Emby. Emby doesn't provide the content, you need to add content to the Emby server.1 point

Yes, you can watch it on this. Configure your server and LiveTV. https://emby.media/support/articles/Live-TV.html Download what? Server? Client(s)? https://emby.media/download.html1 point

The thread linked below should get you on track though you want to set a value higher than 64k (your current limit). Without knowing the actual number of watchers needed a value of 262144 should be good. After you change the values and reboot you can check with sysctl -a | grep inotify1 point

HI, in terms of Emby clients, there's nothing we really need to do as we don't handle the low level networking ourselves. That sort of improvement will generally come for free when the device/browser/operating system supports it. There are some exceptions where we embed our own player. For instance on android we use exoplayer, so that would need to support it. On iOS and Windows we use mpv, so it depends on whether that supports it or not. In terms of the server, we're currently running .net 6 and http3 is marked as experimental with it. We haven't enabled it though. When we move to .net 7, we'll reevaluate that.1 point

Hello guys! I am sorry that this update took a bit longer than usual but please note that I don't use Beta and I only do this for you when I have time. Please take that in consideration. Enough of that. I have now made updates to both the stable and beta version. The beta was a big update as a lot of things changed but I think it should all be good now hopefully. For some reason I cant edit the main post (do you know why @Happy2Play?) so the updates can be found attached to this post instead. Let me know if anything is not working correctly Emby-Stable-style-v2.8.css Emby-Beta-style-v2.8.css1 point

well the android tv app supports end credit display if the data is fed about when the credits start. currently its possible to do it manually using chapterapi plugins but it would be so much easier if its done automatically like the intro skip function....... I dont know why you lose interest in doing the plugin. I think it s a cool feature you have already done it in the introskip plugin and works fine and accurate for most shows. I think a lot of ppl would find this helpful especially for shows which has long end credits while binge watching.1 point

I'm glad you asked cause that was a disappointing outcome. HDR Format: Dolby Vision, Version 1.0, dvhe.07.06, BL+EL+RPU, Blu-Ray Compatible / SMPTE ST 2086, HDR10 compatible TV triggered HDR not Dolby Vision. However, HDR format: Dolby Vision, Version 1.0, dvhe.07.06, BL+EL+RPU, Blu-ray compatible / SMPTE ST 2094 App 4, Version 1, HDR10+ Profile A compatible TV triggered Dolby Vision.1 point

Hi everyone.. Lg hasn't yet created an Emby app for the 2021 models. This applies to both software version 6 and 3.20 and above. The only option to use EMBY is to run a web browser on the TV. Go to the EMBY website and log in to the server and then add the tab shortcut to the main panel of the screen. Then you can see Emby at the bottom of the screen and go straight to the EMBY server without entering your login and password again. IT WORKS, because on my LG 43UP7800 I have it done. REGARDS. Ps. I'm waiting for Emby APP from LG. Polish Language below. Lg jeszcze nie zrobił nie stworzyl aplikacji Emby dla modeli z 2021. Dotyczy to zarówno oprogramowania w wersji 6 jak i 3,20 i wyzej. Jedyna opcja żeby korzystać z EMBY, to uruchomić przeglądarke internetową w TV. POZDRAWIAM. Ps. Czekam na Emby APP od LG.1 point

Often times when I see "Reason for transcodng: Media bitrate exceeds limit." in the info I wonder, what kind of internet connection do they have? I know this can cover multiple scenarios like bandwidth limit set for user, server, client side quality setting, as well as AUTO bandwidth detection... Can you PLEASE add to the dashboard the returned client bandwidth capabilities? The value you are getting from the client that tells emby its bandwidth abilities. While you are at it tighten up the spaces between lines on the transcode items, and align the results to the right instead of center.. MAYBE SOMETHING LIKE THIS :1 point

Is there a way / could there be a way added on Android TV to enact thumbnail scrubbing when "skipping" by default? I am on Shield TV Pro (2019) right now, and I have to click the down arrow to bring up the show overlay before thumbnails show up for scrubbing. If I just simply click left or right, it just skips without showing any thumbnails.1 point
-
@ebr not initially to me. I would have expected / preferred the opposite: tap to scrub, hold to skip / ff. Ultimately, though, I think perhaps a playback option to toggle the above might be best?1 point

Did you disable remote access for your users? Is that why they are not visible on the login screen?1 point

You aren’t with the team of emby so why are u answering ? And also ur not interested on the feature so please contribute on something else0 points

Hmmm... that is the opposite of the norm I believe. A single tap would move one jump point and holding down a button scrolls/ff/rewinds continuously. That is pretty common in any interface I think. The same as navigating a grid of posters for instance...0 points
