  1. Heya, playback of the themes is controlled by the clients, not my plugins. Be sure to check in with the relevant threads/developers for theme playback support on their clients.

  3. I don't know how many people shared the same thought as me when I decided to purchase Emby Premier. My intention was to support the developer rather than paying for the Emby software itself, especially considering Jellyfin is free if I prefer that option. The primary reason for choosing Emby is its superior stability when compared to Jellyfin. While I do appreciate a modern and visually appealing Home Screen, the core stability is of utmost importance to me.

  6. Hey there guys, I've proposed this in some thread already, but I think it would be very handy to sort media of artists into different groups, as musicbrainz does for example. For instance, implement the option to enable sorting artist's music into, e.g., "Albums", "Singles", "Live albums", "Compilations", etc. I have no idea if this is quickly done or rather takes a lot of work, but it would be very cool to have imho. Currently, media of bands like AC/DC or Michael Jackson, so artists making music since some decades, have 50+ albums/singles/etc. cluttering the artist view, making it very hard to find a specific item of that artist. If we would have the option to have this sorted out into different groups, it'd make the artist view more cleaned up. Cheers boys and girls! Have a great day (or night) ahead!

  7. I'm a big fan of services such as Rifftrax, and I hate having to manually mux files every time I purchase another release. Much in the same way that external subtitle file support was added, it would be nice to have external audio track support for TV and movies added as well. I wouldn't expect Emby to handle the offset calculations needed to sync the audio. It's not too difficult for me to modify that now.

  8. Hello again ! Hope you're doing great. I have a suggestion that might be useful to some of us, or at least make the general look a tiny bit more "organized". [ for those that don't use this ] When a film has multiple versions, the way it works currently, as far as I understand, is that both the files have the same name (also same as the parent folder) with a different "ending". For example: Folder: The Movie (2023) Files: The Movie (2023) - 1080p Version.mkv The Movie (2023) - 4K Version.mkv So using this structure, Emby would show each version as: "1080p Version" and "4K Version" accordingly in the UI selector. [ the problem with the current mechanism ] Some of us, keep out films using this folder structure, but the file naming is different. It's something like: Movie Title (year) - {imdbid} [resolution] [audio format] [encoding]-releaseGroup For example, for the film "Dune" the actual file naming is: Dune (2021) {imdb-tt1160419} [Bluray-1080p][TrueHD Atmos 7.1][x264]-LEGi0N.mkv The 4K version though, is named: Dune (2021) {imdb-tt1160419} [Bluray-2160p][HDR10][TrueHD Atmos 7.1][x265]-Tigole - 4K Version Since both file names start with the Film's name, its year and imdbid, they are the same up to that point. Everything beyond that, is different, always depending on the specific file. So, for my case the UI shows the two versions as such: // SideNote // As a bonus, I don't even keep those two files in the same folder. I have seperate folders for FullHD and 4K files. The subfolders are named exactly the same though, so Emby figures that out and it works great. [ what I'd suggest ] The thing I would suggest, and definitely like, is for us to be able to somehow set a Custom Name for each version, IF NEEDED. I know I can do that by keeping the filenames up to the version, exactly the same, but that defeats the purpose of naming them according to what they are. I don't know HOW would that be possible or how it should be implemented. Maybe in the nfo file ? Maybe using a custom TAG in the filename? Such as: {embyver-4K Version} (same as the imdb tag). That would be up to the devs. What I do know is, that this would be a nice quality of life update that's not breaking anything. PS. The current Version naming system, could obviously co-exist, and if NO CUSTOM NAME IS SUPPLIED, then revert to default naming. I'm suggesting a NEW feature. Not the replacement of a current one. Thank you. Have a nice day buds.

  9. I'm on version 3.3.32 A play button has appeared very recently on media thumbnails. But it's not visible until it's hovered over. Problem is, this is an android phone, so as soon as I click the center region of any thumbnail, it hovers the play button, and immediately starts playing. I've tried changing my display mode from auto to desktop to mobile/tablet and nothing helps. The TV mode is even worse on my phone. Screen recorded me tapping a thumbnail, paused it where the play button is visible for the split second after tapping it right before the media plays.

  10. Hi, I can see value in knowing album vs single vs ep and studio vs live, Compilation (a guess they could be either). @Luke, @ebr I think you can get some of this from Picard's standard tag "RELEASETYPE:" it seems to be a multi value ie : album;live Below are a couple of ffprobe results examples, ffprobe REALEASETYPE (album;live).txt ffprobe REALEASETYPE (album).txt Thanks, -vicpa

  11. I use the Youtube app and have created a very short private clip with a link to my emby server in the comments. It's a few more clicks than a native app, but it works perfectly and is a great way to kill some time if stuck in the car for any length of time

  14. It seems that it can pass through any audio via earc. It just can't send out lossless through earc from its own apps. At least that's what I have read.

  16. That just changed the owner. You probably need to change the permissions also to rwx using the chmod command. chmod -R 700 dir or 770 if you want to give both owner and user rwx

  17. Good question... Just performed some other tests... With both Emby app for Android TV installed from the Google store and the Emby Android installed from the apk... both the versions run perfectly and both connect immediately. I removed the Emby for Android and... Emby for Android TV again takes long time to connect. I measured 3 minutes and half. To be more precise: 1) start from the nVidia Shiled clean after a reboot 2) Open Emby ATV... it keeps more then 3 minutes to connect 3) Exit Emby 4) Open Emby again... it opens immediately 5) Force Emby to stop from the nVidia app menu 6) Open Emby again... it opens again immediately 7) Reboot the Shield... 8 ) emby ATV again keeps minutes to connect So... before I installed Emby for Android from the apk... evey time emby took long time to connect, even without any reboot in the middle. Now, after having installed and then removed Emby for Android from the apk,,, it takes minutes just after a Shild reboot. If you want to have a look, I sent a couple of logs through the app exactly 5 hours ago, so 12:30 PM your Eastern time. User: emby

  18. Just an idea, but would it be possible to allow preferences like qualities to also have defaults that are stored on the server with the possibility of being overridden on the client? I have seen a lot of users that simply don't know about those settings unless guided to and are perfectly happy streaming at the defaults, even if it may not be the best for their connection or the server. Not sure if there's already a FR for the same or you want me to create one, if its doable?

  19. See other topics about this. Google thinks your server is trying to impersonate Emby. You will need to file a ticket with them to get unflagged. This should be less likely to occur in 4.7.14, and even less likely in 4.8, but we're still trying to get to the bottom of what causes chrome to think this.

  22. Hey, i tried the following: 1. delete the library 2. added it again 3. quickly go to meta data manager and set Doctor Who order to "DVD" (before tvshow.nfo was generated on file system) 4. wait for metadata to be fetched => now everything looks good! somewhere, where i could not find it, the wrong information was stored, so thanks for that hint and both of you thank you for your quick help!

  23. This is another reason why I always suggest using UNC path names instead of local paths as it makes things 'portable' behind the scenes. As an example, for as long as I can remember, my 'movie' path has always been the UNC path \\media\movies - what's 'behind' that share has been changed many times - but emby doesn't know any different, so it doesn't have to re-scan anything if and when I change it. Could be a different local filesystem, different host - doesn't matter, the UNC stays the same. You can also do something similiar with symlinks (folder level) but thats restricted to the local machine - shares are universal.

  24. @ grimevil looks good what i did in gimp ( struggled for the longest time how to change the gradient colour) was make sure the gradient layer is selected and then -colors- Map - Gradient map this changes the gradient to whatever your top colour is doubt this is the proper way to do it but it seems to work pretty good just in case you were interested this is how it looks doing it the above way
