  1. This worked like a champ and will definitely make life more easy as I want all films related to or spun from a TV series available from not only the movie library but from the home screen for the TV series itself since many may not know of all the related content. For instance I have the original Batman (1966) TV series on Blu-Ray and I have the original full length movie but I also have all Batman movies since from 1992 until present and I want all of them available from within the series home screen since they are related even if they didn't come from the series directly like the first movie. This way someone in the mood for the series may become in the mood for one of the movies and its right there without searching. Thanks again roaku!

  4. Carlo, In answer to your last question as to why I thought the season started on 9/11 vs 9/5 - Just look at the screen shots that I took from ABC and Hulu, they clearly showed that they believed the season for the show they produced and aired started on 9/11. Now, sometime today, everything has changed. I actually came here to offer my apologies and wasn't expecting your message to reply to. I've been checking ABC, Hulu, and all the Gracenote licensed sites every day, sometimes multiple times a day. Tonight, to my amazement, 10 days after Disney/ABC declared that GH's 61st season started on 9/11 they NOW say it started on 9/5. Friday Sept. 22nd episode was to be S61E10 because Thursday Sept. 21st episode was S61E09. Checking tonight, Friday's episode is listed as S61E14. If you go to https://abc.com/shows/general-hospital?view=full you will see the change. I guess they were lazy and only changed 9/11 and Tuesday through Friday of this week. You need to actually click on the episode in order for it to show its episode number. And so, I need to give you and the rest of the Emby staff and users an apology. I never expected Disney/ABC to make this type of change so late into the game. It is my feeling that ABC is the only source for ABC shows. It is their shows so they should know best what episodes they broadcast. How can they not know when their seasons start? This is truly bizarre. I really thought Gracenote had it wrong. How can you go against what a network says is their season starting date and episode numbers? In the end, Gracenote had it right. Things are really strange with Disney/ABC lately.

  5. .. this is why I asked to see a photo of the Router screen and gave you what it should be below ... we would have picked up the issue in seconds back on the 14th ... But glad it's all resolved - great work from @Carlo

  6. It turned out to be a simple port redirection issue that was forwarding unsecured to secured ports rather than unsecured to unsecured or put another way. Port forwarding needed to be changed to 8096->8096 vs 8096->8920.

  7. Except that is the literal reason why it was created. The user went on to create "Emby Unlocked" before he created Jellyfin because he was angry and wanted his free stuff, as in his mind, OSS should be FOSS. They also hounded the Emby dev team for over year for source code that they were not entitled to (demanding source code to closed sourced apps claming they were FOSS). As for what they are behind in, other than their app game, the layout and such is still the same as when they forked it, and Luke is still the contributor for over 70% of the source code and he hasn't "contributed" in over 6 years. If they were really about making it their own project, and not "FU you give me my free stuff" more of the code would have been replaced. Instead, all they've done is patch work, nothing more. As it stands, Jellyfin will have a massive target on their back if/when the pirate providers move to them. I know many IPTV servers are already doing this, and ACE, the MPAA, et al will do what they do. You weren't here when the drama unfolded. If you enter any discussion about Jellfyin and mention paying for a Plex Pass or Emby Premiere, you'll be told you're stupid, you're an idiot, because Jellyfin is free, and only a moron would decide to pay for something. Hence, FU Give me my free stuff, NOW! FOSS is not the utopia FOSS advocates think it is. It would be great if it was, but it's not. As bad as it sounds, FOSS is rife with theft of other people's hard work, which is legal as long as you credit them. The zealots ruin it for everyone, and Jellyfin guy (he who shall not be named) is one of them. Again, Jellyfin all started because of a nag screen in OSS that the person thought should be FOSS. Something that was 100% pefectly legal as OSS can be monetized. They just didn't like the fact that OSS was being used to make money and felt that all the hard work Luke and company did should be free to them. If that's not FU GIVE ME MY FREE STUFF, I don't know what is.

  8. I'll try to keep this feature request short and simple. When the Emby server needs to transcode audio to make it compatible for the Emby client, it will use a hardcoded value for the bitrate that cannot be changed. For example, if the audio gets transcoded to Dolby Digital AC-3, it will always use a bitrate of 384 kb/s. This value cannot be changed, even though Dolby Digital AC-3 allows a maximum bitrate of 640 kb/s. Although 384 kb/s is a decent compromise between quality and data, it is very compressed and the quality is far from being transparent. The same thing applies to every other audio codec the Emby server may transcode to, such as AAC. So the request is simple, allow users to specify the bitrate that should be used for transcoding audio. Thanks, Charlie

  9. Media Library Icons for Emby Updated: 07/10/2021 I've always had a thing for the simple gradient style Hulu overlays on their library images. I'm not that great at graphic design, but I can mimic some things pretty decent. I hope! It's very simple, and clean and something I've been wanting to attempt for a while. I've never done anything like this, so constructive criticism is appreciated! More color options for media libraries coming soon!!! Also included to make your icons match across the platform, are video genre, music genre and TV network icons: I've hosted this only my Google Drive, so if if the link is not working please, reach out to me and let me know and I will do what I can to resolve! 11. Hi Luke, Thanks a lot for looking into this. Indeed, that was the problem. I had a cronjob grapping data from webgrapplus and one of this guides / sources had a problem and the xml file was not correct. After fixing this and refresh livetv guide data task, everythink is working again. Thank you!

  15. @dougw03Have you checked the file/folder permissions also (not just the shared folder permissions)? In order to delete emby will probably need rwx permissions. You will need to use something like Terminal or WinSCP and then SSH into your NAS.

  18. When you're got Up Next turned on, when you get to the end of an episode, it will give you a prompt to immediately play the next episode or to cancel the next episode playing entirely. If you choose to immediately play the next episode, it will, and that works great. However, it looks like this doesn't do anything for the episode you just played - if it hit your played progress threshold, it will be marked as played. If it didn't, it will not. For episodes that are 10 minutes long, a threshold of 95 isn't enough to consider the previous episode as watched, if you click start now on the next episode right away. Change the threshold you say? Well then what about 40 minute shows? Use a differnet library? Sure, could do. But doesn't it make sense to mark the previous episode as watched, even if it hasn't reached the threshold, if you've been presented with the Up Next interface and specifically said yes? Thanks guys, love your work

  19. as far as i can see its not possible to turn it off. i previously had it set to AI Enhanced where the movie direct played - setting it to basic, which seems to be the lowest level, makes no difference. it still direct plays

  22. All of my movies work great on the beta! However, if I manually set the quality settings to anything above 4K - 60Mbps, I get stuttering and shifting in the movie (where the frames playing aren't at the time shown on the progress bar). If I set it to Auto, it will play at 4K - 160Mbps, no issues where the only stuttering is from transcoding and hardware limitation as it's very, very, miniscule, infrequent stutters that I expect once in a while.

  25. With so many parallel services/applications/etc that many of us run alongside Emby, creating custom links in users' homescreens would be very helpful. For example, there could be another header of links in the left-hand navigation. Customizable header title with customizable links below. Prime example would be a link to Ombi. Or we could link directly to the Emby apps. The possibilities are endless with modular custom links like that. I've been following LDAP progress, so you could link to a management service with that as well. The same header and list of links should then be available as a home screen section, like My Media and Continue Watching.

  26. Hey, i tried the following: 1. delete the library 2. added it again 3. quickly go to meta data manager and set Doctor Who order to "DVD" (before tvshow.nfo was generated on file system) 4. wait for metadata to be fetched => now everything looks good! somewhere, where i could not find it, the wrong information was stored, so thanks for that hint and both of you thank you for your quick help!

  27. I think the easiest way to do this is: 1. Within the emby jail, move the /var/db/emby-server folder to /var/db/emby-bak 2. Create a dataset on your pool to store the emby-server data (I called mine embydb) 3. Mount the new dataset into the emby jail in a similar fashion to you would the media folders (my setting below as an example) 4. Within the emby jail, copy all of the files and folders from /var/db/emby-bak to /var/db/emby-server (which is now actually your new dataset)

  28. thx for all the feedback! So I will go the hard way an rename the files manualy @Lukethis is maybe a nice feature with emby in the future -> the user press a button and choose a character, than emby find and replace it with another given set of chars in the DB and the filesystem. There is also a lot of trouble with ' in the filename, especially within unix scripts. best regards Matthias

Reifen stay tuned". Also Gas geben, Skill frei schalten...

  30. BINGO! I do not know the reason, but not it works. I rebooted the Shield, then I opened Emby (Android TV version) with the same long time to connect. Then I installed Emby for Android from the APK downloaded from Emby website and run it: it connected immediately. After that, now also Emby for Android TV starts immediately. Seems that installing the Android NOT-TV version fixed something somewhere in the Android TV version. Any idea?

  36. I am late to the party, only using emby for about a year now. Dislike mostly is relevant for me in context of music, especially to keep track of and help in creating playlists, where I would want to include all tracks of an artist/a genre, except those that specifically were marked disliked. The favourites functionality is generally very good, and it integrates with plugins well, e.g. last.fm plugin will propagate favourites to last.fm as loved, which is great. I would still prefer a dislike functionality in addition to like/favourites, to help me organize some specific playlists based on favourites/likes. Without the information about dislikes, unliked and disliked songs just look the same in emby, and I'd still have to use convoluted workarounds with "dislike playlists", or additionally use external systems, that somehow integrate with emby. Does anybody currently use any kind of plugin or other solution to keep track of their dislikes in emby?

  38. There's a new plugin coming soon which will give you complete and structured access to all Mediatheks content, including Swiss, Austria, Arte, KiKa, German 3rd programs and even more. The existing plugins won't go away, though. They are providing the same/similar content views like the official Mediathek clients, focused on the latest highlights and the most popular content, whereas the new plugin will show the content more like an Emby library. Stay tuned!

  43. As I mentioned in a previous post, I'm experiencing the same issue with my Pixel 7. I suggest introducing an option to disable the brightness control within the player. Then, the control should be concealed, and the app should no longer override the phone's brightness settings.

  45. Is this being seriously looked at? I appreciate the responsiveness when new issue are brought up, but this has been going on for close to 8 months and the inconvenience of having to completely restart the app makes the Android app virtually unusable. Can the feature not simply be removed entirely until a solution is found? It's a bit disappointing for a paid user to still be waiting on a fix for this...
