  1. Good day, We install a modification that when copy & paste within the default theme will look fine on the dark themes regarding white background and font text color. Please test in this thread. As I test I copy & paste this: ====== Sorry for the delay, this will apply tomorrow, as the mod's team finish testing then I got busy ====== As above done within the default theme. My best

  5. I did try searching... While watching TV episodes, at the end of the episode when the prompt comes up for playing the next episode or stopping playback, it has come up several times with my spouse what the current time is and how long is the next episode/when will that episode stop (current series we are watching has a variety of episode lengths)... This is info you see back at the episode selection, I think it would be useful to display during the next episode prompt.

  7. That's reasonable. I can live with making a rule for myself for now to only set the watched flag from Emby. Just wanted to put the issue out there.

  10. HI, yes, cover.jpg and folder.jpg are supported.

  11. It returns a webpage, which I did not notice before. Try it out and see. Looks like it is just invalid - sorry for the trouble.

  12. No, that one should be fine, but in the 4.7 release any video with trailer in the name will get treated as a trailer and not shown in the main listing. This has also been improved in the upcoming 4.8 release.

  13. HI, this is a tricky case. The Interviews folder gets dropped due to being sort of a reserved keyword in our system. The good news though is that I believe in the upcoming 4.8 server release if you were to setup a brand new library, I don't think this would happen.

  14. Hi @Luke sorry for late reply. I am currenly magically ok with that. But i dont know where was the problem. I clicked "Send logs" many times at the time i was writing this issue. I am happy it was solved Thank you @Luke

  15. Thanks so much, got it working! Not including the fully qualified name is vital information here! To someone that doesn't understand SSL/Domain things it's not something I would have spotted in a million years. Regarding the documentation, I should also point out that since it was written the location for adding the SSL certificate in Emby Settings has changed as well. Currently the guide points you to Dashboard > Advanced, when it's now Server > Network In all honesty I would recommend starting again with that tutorial. I'd be quite happy in writing a new guide, if it helps. Cheers everyone!

  18. Using the image posted above by @pwhodges as an example and assuming your domain is agtdenton.dynu.net: - Go to Control Panel -> DDNS Services -> your domain -> DNS Records. - Select record type CNAME. - Enter the Name given by SSL for Free into the Node Name field but only the leading portion, not the fully qualified name. This is the prefix added to your domain when you save and will look like <name>.agtdenton.dynu.net on the record list. - Enter the Point To name given into the Hostname field as is, fully qualified. - TTL doesn't really matter and 120 default is fine. After you save you should be able to run a check with nslookup -type=cname <name>.agtdenton.dynu.net. You should get an answer with your alias and the canonical name (point to) but no IP resolved. If it works you can click on the Next Step to have your cert issued.

  19. @LukeI am mostly happy to report that the latest beta appears to have fixed the artist issue. I have done a full metadata refresh on music, and after hours it did not change anything (will leave it overnight and see if it does it in background). Manually refreshing each artist works, and nothing is being placed in appdata woot but... There is an issue Artists with non standard names do not find artwork, examples are "*NSYNC" "AC/DC", and the ilk. it's odd as with *NSYNC it fails on the artist, but has worked with the album of the same name. in my directory structure, the artist is listed as "--NSYNC" as the folder name and "AC+DC" for the other. The NSYNC album is "-NSYNC (1997)" and artworks there are working fine. I know I can rename the directories (though this would break with Lidarr) to fix, but mention it as the album artwork is found, so not sure why artist would not be as the folder.ext is still within the folder the artist resides within. Thanks in advance for your sterling work on this.

  20. I think I found the issue. I knew the most likely reason was bandwidth, but I thought that couldn't be MY issue. I have gigabit networking in my house. I am only using a 140Mbps stream. I didn't realize that TVs only have 100MB ports... I am not seeing the freezing while transcoding while using wireless. Just ordered a USB to Ethernet adapter which should get me 300 - 400 Mbps.

  21. 4K version of show - The .strm is contain a web link. "https://URL-TO-MEDIA" (SHOWNAME - S01E01 - 2060p.strm) 1080p version of show - Media is normal .mkv video file. (SHOWNAME - S01E01 - 1080p.mkv) I can see the confusion with the example I provided above with both of them being "1080p"... It was a random, quick, example.

  22. Emby does not have access to IMDB data. It will only use the Providers listed in what you have configured for that library. In the case of movies - them TMDB is likely the primary.

  23. Hi. I'm glad you are happy with the standard app interface but I chuckle a bit since the TV app interface basically mimics Netflix and Amazon while the latter interface you mentioned is actually Emby's interface from 8 years ago...

  24. I decided to format my drives to EXT4 since I'll probably be using ProxMox from now on (moved the movies to another drive and then back to these EXT4's, long process but future proof). Then followed a youtube video to mount these into Emby.

  26. It worked and I do like the interface a lot better. Few things it doesn't have like the show synopsis on the main screen. It doesn't feel as fast though. White bar over the highlights, maybe I'm just picky... I also have to pay monthly now. Which I feel like I unlocked it before but I don't have that option. Is it available to unlock?

  30. That'd be fine I guess ... I'm just a bit bit picky about encoding parameters so was hoping for more control but still the managed interface that Emby adds.

  31. Hi. Im mean I will give feedback after the tests. In Russian, it will sound like I will "отпишусь" ( unsubscribe\give feedback\let you know about something) . And depending on the context, this phrase will have different meanings. Sorry for the confusion My english very bad(

  32. I have a tcl Roku TV. I think il plug that in and see if I can reproduce the issue myself. Might have to wait till Sunday tho. Personally it sounds like the connection or stream isn't being closed out properly and thus still has some elements in cache or ram. Then somehow gets combined with the next stream.

  33. For now I'm just going to leave it at restarting my server every morning before I wake up, it's working fine that way, and I have no problems accessing it. Which reminds me I need to look at config on my PCIe 2,5GbE card on it's wake up, I remember it had a choice of a 10 or100 wake up signal, or maybe it was Emby, I have to look when I'm not so worn out. Seems like one of them defaulted to 10Mbps on the WOL, but I think my NIC card doesn't do 10Mbps, only 100 -2500.

  34. @LukeI have verified that this change in the verification procedure has been made - this image shows the DNS verification process as of today (but this cannot work - see note below): This change must be very recent indeed, as all their example videos still show the TXT method in use! The OP reported that they failed with this CNAME method. Actually, I can see the reason immediately - FreeSSL's test CNAME starts with an underscore, which is not a valid character in a domain name! So this method will not work with any registrar which does a proper check on the names, and many DNS forwarders may also block it from working. Well done FreeSSL - you messed up royally! Paul

  35. The problem is that the guide is wrong and needs to be updated to match the changes made within the recommended services.

  36. I have two different networks(different subnets). A router from the ISP with normal settings and an another router with an Arista firewall. I usually use the one with the firewall (I set it up like that years ago for family control ,security and cleaner internet experience) .For some reason the firewall is blocking all remote access and i haven't been able to figure out why, even if i practically disable all its features .So i connected the emby server computer to the ISP router and it works fine remotely. Eventually i will figure it out. Thanks.. BTW :Thanks for all your work, love the app.

  37. Ok. Danke für die Hilfe, das reicht mir schon als Aussage. Im Menü ist ja auch die Möglichkeit, ein anderes Verzeichnis dafür zu bestimmen. Entsprechend ausgelagert dürfte es kein Problem mehr sein. --- Ok. Thx for your help. In the menu is also an option to determine an other folder. Outsourced accordingly, it should no longer be a problem.

  38. As mentioned above. this is all about VAAPI - not QuickSync. (MSDK/OneVPL). The latter have their own shader kernels as those encoders are much more capable. This leads to the following order from left-to-right increasing capability (encoder features and quality): Fixed function block (VDEnc) >>> VAAPI EU Kernels >>> QuickSync Kernels VDEnc is intended to be efficient and resource saving. Examples: for not affecting game performance when streaming screen casts for being able to do long video conferences from a laptop It's not the best choice in terms of quality, that's why Emby doesn't use it by default (with QuickSync encoders). But you can activate it in the H.264 QSV Encoder parameters: Check the "Low Power Encoding" option It's not only (or not necessarily) a question of faster vs. slower. You need to take quality into account. VDEnc is fast and simple but it's limited in features and quality. I'm don't really know much regarding the amount of shader units being used and how flexible that is in terms of assignment. I would suspect that it also depends on the output image size. Typically the frames are divided into smaller sections for parallelism and their sizes are depending on the encoder logic and aren't chosen arbitrarily. This means that for a larger frame size, more shader units could possibly be used. What also must not be forgotten with regards to encoding performance on different CPU models is clock rate (I'm not sure whether VDEnc blocks have different clock rates on different models, but I would assume so), and lastly, there's also memory bandwidth which depends on CPU clock rate and the installed RAM's supported rates (or dual vs. single-channel).. It's many factors which come into play. Also, transcoding very often involves CPU-bound tasks, of many different kinds. Hence, my overall conclusion (wrt Emby): The CPU model matters a lot! You cannot say an i3 would be equally suitable to an i7 because it has the same graphics specs on paper...
