Hello there ! I am a Plex user who discovers this wonderful app! - The number of current streams and computer resources are not displayed in the dashboard, do you think that could be added? For example, if we have 10 current streams, we could display: Now Playing (10) - For CPU and RAM resources, you don't necessarily need a graph but at least display the percentage used by the application? - The messages that we can send to users do not last long enough, it would be nice to be able to customize the duration or to increase it a little. Thank you and thank you again for your work !2 points

I'm not sure how many people use the site doesthedogdie.com, but it is very useful for looking up any triggers in a movie. It has a long list of possible triggers, like animal deaths, drug abuse, suicide, self harm, etc. My wife is traumatized if she sees a dead cat so for every movie I have to look it up prior on doesthedogdie.com, I have issues with suicides.2 points

Can you please implement an option to hide the synopsis of un-watched episodes and movies (mainly episodes) as I find them kind of like a spoiler and annoys the hell out of me. This was a big feature for me to use XBMC but ever since using MB3 I can't go back LOL. Thanks1 point

Dear Luke, I've been a long-time Emby user and advocate, happily contributing to Emby with my Emby Premiere subscription. However, I have got some long-standing issues with Emby which usually gets waved away by either naming it a small issue or "we're working on it", the latter of which can be multiple years before it's actually implemented or fixed. I used to convince myself that I shouldn't be so demanding etc, but lately, I came to the realization that that is kinda stupid. I, like so many others are paying customers, not contributors to an open-source project. The main thing is updates, apart from the security update or hotfix, the last time since a "true" update is absolutely mind-boggling. In no particular order here are some issues and or feature requests that have been a thing for ages and have been ignored. LG WebOS subtitle transparency setting is still not there. Basic transcoding issues, not adapting to hanging, or stuttery playback with dropped frames (honestly this should be basic functionality) Unintuitive quality settings which I still have to explain daily to non-tech-savvy family members (even for me it is still annoying since when I want to force transcode to test the also semi-broken tonemapping I first need to check source bitrate which sucks) This wouldn't even be needed if Emby itself would make sane transcoding choices instead of leaving a stuttering mess be displayed) Somehow fast-forwarding (clicking on a certain point on the playback progress bar) yields stuck playback 50% of the time or so, even on an SSD. Stopping the video and trying again doesn't even resolve this. UI could use an update to make it feel more 2023 Mobile app has no logging functionality making it meaningless for me to show that for the Android app, certain types of audio are always at a fixed volume regardless of the output device, and this renders the Android volume slider useless. Also, something with the HDR implementation doesn't trigger the brighter playback on some Android devices Tone mapping is very inaccurate if you don't install the diagnostic plugin to tweak the settings which sometimes results in a green line, this has already been fixed by Jellfin so fixing it should be super easy since open-source. Normally this would feel like I'm whining, but again, 5 euros per month isn't nothing. And as you can see in most links, I've tried helping to figure this stuff out or come up with a good middle ground for both sides (like in the quality settings one) but it just gets ignored. I hope this gets taken seriously, and if I'd love to help in any way I can, but the current situation makes me curious if Emby isn't treated as a side-project.1 point

@seanbuff - Thanks for the additional information. Today I tried to paste some thing from GitHub in dark mode and testipb and it appeared dark - but readable (white font). I had assumed that there has been a change since the update. But if it wasn't, then think it's time to re-read the original conversation and see what the conclusion was.1 point

Disable TVDB, as it has all of those under single series and possibly interfering: https://thetvdb.com/series/saint-seiya#seasons Name your series folders: Saint Seiya (1986) [tmdbid=42444] Saint Seiya - Soul of Gold (2015) [tmdbid=62428] Saint Seiya - Saintia Sho (2018) [tmdbid=78122] Scan media ibrary (delete any existing NFOs before scanning, if saved with media). Lock the series afterwards, re-enable TVDB.1 point

Even if Plex is somewhat faster both are slow for a LAN connection. You should see much faster download from server to local PC. Remote downloads will be limited by the service in between and as far as I know these are not governed by Emby settings for streaming limits. Your problem is most likely something on TrueNAS or network. Have you tested file transfers from NAS to PC, assuming you may also be using TrueNAS for shared storage?1 point

Oh. All along I've assumed you meant streaming, not downloads. My mistake.1 point

Hi, yes I am using HAProxy in front of Emby. Very weird, I missed that before! Thank you so much! For anyone looking in the future, add "option forwardfor" in your frontend to passthrough the original connecting IP.1 point
-
Your screenshot shows in-LAN playback (192.168.1.1 IP) to which Internet streaming limit does not apply; based on that address (likely a router or reverse proxy) and your description, I'd guess remote address is not interpreted properly - do you have an RP in front of your Emby server or use a VPN?1 point

Hey. You'll need to use "GenreIds=xxxx, xxxx" which means you will have to obtain the specific ID of the genre you want as opposed to text.1 point

tbh I'm using icq=19 and getting ~ 500fps on 1080p in some cases on just my UHD770. Quality is perfect, filesize is sometimes 50%, but normally about 70% of the original - which is what I expect from avc>hevc. I'm running with this - it's now ploughing through my 50Tb's worth ..1 point

Any chance this will make it to server side so it can be ENFORCED as a policy server side for clients? I think Emby is missing ability to check "Enforced" or "Preference" to each applicable user settings, from the server side. If Preference is ticked, the setting is set as a default, but user can change it (this default could be different to Emby's own default out of box). If enforced is ticked, then the user can't change on the client. If both Enforced and Preference are unticked then its just Emby's own out of box default that can be changed on the client. You can't tick both those boxes as web form wouldn't allow.1 point

OK if you'd like to try the 4.8 beta server you may have a better experience there as it has updated Intel GPU support.1 point

(I can't edit the initial post so I'll summarize here) Only a subset of Emby "metadata" fields can be populated. > I tested this by populating every QuickTime ItemList tag with a string data type. - Title => Read from the `©nam` QuickTime tag - Overview => Read from the `ldes` QuickTime tag - Year => Read from the `©day` QuickTime tag - Genres => Read from the `©gen` and `gnre` QuickTime tags - Studios => Read from the `cprt` QuickTime tag Functionality for all other Emby "metadata" fields is missing. - Tags, People, and so on Suggested fix: - People => Read from the `©ART` QuickTime tag - Tags => Read from the `©grp` QuickTime tag1 point

In the plugins playback settings change the container of the playlist intro video to ts instead of mp4.1 point

No - you need to read what I said - you have taken it entirely out of context. I'm well aware of what MFA is and fully agree with it's concepts - but trying to bolt on enhanced security methods to weak or non-existant security foundations is like trying to add a second keypad lock on the gate below ..1 point

Hi there, In browsing my collection of movies on my Apple TV, I noticed that if movies are grouped into collections I can’t tell if I’ve watched them without diving in deeper. Would it be possible to have it display the tick in the corner if all movies in the collection are marked as watched? Cheers, Brad1 point
