I just uploaded the latest plugin. It includes all of the requests made recently. It includes a new feature called "Channels". A channel is a collection of videos that share a common tag. You can use that tag in the plugin virtualTV to create a TV channel. Vic3 points

Vice-versa: checkmark Becky and select Clair from dropdown. None of them. Nope.2 points

There are a number of shows that I frequently "Shuffle" with... since I've seen all the episodes, don't intend to acquire more (or if I do I don't care about highlighting them beyond the latest added section), and episodes stand alone well enough to not want/need to watch it in order. Just want to watch a random episode during dinner or something. When I start doing this too much, the Next Up gets very cluttered. If shuffle randomly gives me S04 E05 for a show, I'm not terribly concerned about making sure I watch S04 E06 next. I've tried setting the entire series to Played, as I was hoping if all the "next episodes" were already Played it'd keep it off of Next Up, but no such luck. Would it be possible to disable Next Up for individual shows upfront so they stop showing altogether? By User possibly? Or maybe if I Shuffle specifically, it won't show but playing an episode normally does? Sorry if this is a duplicate, I searched a bit but the closest I could find was "forgetting" a series... which didn't really apply since I never want these shows to come back no matter how much I watch of it.1 point

Request: Some IPTV providers may have special Event channels in which no EPG data is provided, the details are typically in the channel name but its too long to read from the guide. Instead of currently displaying no guide info, I request that it simply displays the <Channel Name>, which is the only information it has.1 point

I think I found the problem, I’m running another service for third party smart devices called Homebridge and for some reason they use localhost and the same port number. Changing the port numbers in EMBY settings seems to have fixed the issue.1 point

Most Linux distros follow the same basic conventions and the ones that don't are more difficult to use, not easier. Stick with what you have for now. If you want to stay with Linux and not go back to Windows then abandon the idea of "easier way to do this". The easier way is knowing what needs to be done and how to do it. "This is the way..." - some guy on some show Find one of many online Linux tutorials and go thru the sections on shell access, navigation, files, directories, ownership and permissions. Linux is a multi-user system from the ground up. What you do from your account (create, move, copy, mount, run, etc.) is not by default visible to other accounts. What you do from GUI tools are done from your account unless explicitly done as admin (root) for the system - may be different tools. The external drive has to be mounted using method/options that make it visible to others on the system, in this case emby. Mounting or automounting from your desktop session restricts the access to your account. There are resources online that show you how to mount the drives so they are usable by others - usually done as root and/or from the fstab. Even after the drive is mounted you might have to adjust access of the path to the media for emby to see it.1 point

Yup, most sources have direct playback with the Fire TV Cube, so the 2.0 downmix is being done on client side. Current behaviour (as per what you documented) is that it's doing downmix from 5.0/7.0 to 2.0, even if the source is 5.1/7.1... The idea is to downmix from 5.1/7.1 to 2.0. No need for 2.1 whatsoever. My syster's TV is the only one that would need this manual audio recoding of all videos... so not really worth it. I guess she'll have to live without the sub channel (unless ebr puts a "do not exclude sub channel on 2.0 downmix" option/setting on the to-do list). Yup, I did notice that bass is more than present, but on specific scenes it was missing, which was a bummer, since it was generally missing on explosions on action scenes, which is where you need deep bass the most! (It's like... welp, that explosion was underwhelming... ) Yeah, the behavior that is being searched for here is that bass channel that's present in "X.1" audio shouldn't be taken out of the downmix to 2.0. The receiving audio system will split the 2.0 into 2.1 by itself. (Or some people might have 2.0 with deep bass capabilities, be it speakers, or headphones, so they will also benefit from having this option/setting available). So if an "X.1" track is available, have an option/setting to downmix "X.1 to 2.0" (instead of the current "X.0 to 2.0"). Let's see what ebr says...1 point

my emby use is probably upwards of 90% of live or recorded tv on a shield tv, now using the standard android app, but previously the android tv app. there are some shortcomings but nothing so significant that i would consider using a separate app. i don't have any issues direct playing live tv on the standard android app. the main playback issue is you can't seek in progress tv recordings, which you could on the old android tv app. this has been acknowledged and we hope being worked on. i did have to move off the android tv app because some live tv stuff was broken and the app is pretty much end of life now, so hopefully like me you find the standard android app better. as has been alluded to, the full WMC equivalent has been coded for emby. but i wouldnt expect to see it in any public builds in the near future1 point

..and in other ways the Android App is far behind - so pick your poison ..1 point

The new install did nothing, actually. The problem was in the networking configuration, to restrict access to my local subnet only. When I originally installed Emby, that restriction was useful from a security perspective. I accidentally found a way, through the iPhone app, to remove that network config and restore access. Something changed in this new version and removing the configuration for local network, solved my issue.1 point

It would be useful to add a custom sort order for collections, so collections like Marvel, DC Comic, and Star Wars's movies can be ordered by chronological order instead of release date.1 point
