Yes it works. I have found that if i terminal into emby and go to the var/lib/emby/data. I then created a new folder called movies. I did a chown and chgrp from root to emby. I than did a mv -v from my folder to the newly created folder. All movies show and play in emby. Thanks for all your help and suggestion everyone.

Just tested on the beta build and can confirm it worked there, I wasn't paying attention to the emby version in the folder download, my bad. Awesome plug in.

It happens mostly browsing through the music library. Not always, but in 95% it does not work. I can't figure out why and under which conditions yet

Hi. Something is blocking the server's access or, possibly, incorrect DNS configuration.

I mean in the built-in software on the device itself. I could not find evidence of that in the ffmpeg log - thus my thinking it might be just on the device that is happening. Let's wait until SW can take some time to have a look at the logs. Thanks.

not sure if this is even still pressing but i have a roku unit i plug into the projector in my room. i believe it may be a voltage thing. when plugged (USB/POWER) into my projector or 5V supply in my lamp it gives the green light but not off of their block they give with the roku

As reported last year.. The standard Android app works - GrimReaper attached my post. Quick fix is to disable transcoding, but then that in turn messes it up for files that actually need to be transcoded. I was told the proper app would ultimately get the update.. Didn't think 15 months+ was the timeline back then lol

You have an extra folder level with that "Outlander Seasons 1 to 5 bla bla" and it is likely being recognized as Season 1 - move all season subfolders one level up.

What does any of this have to do with the Original Post (OP)?

I don't have any particular problems with Emby and OTA channels. Nothing show stopping for my limited use anyway. But, I quite often get video / audio out of sync, failure to tune, slow tuning, the inability to up / down arrow to change channels. I've also seen the improvements in nextgenTV that were available 3 (yes 3) years ago, and still we wait, and wait, and wait... I also tried Kodi with the NextPVR plugin for Kodi and tuning was literally 10 times quicker. So...so much could be better, but isn't...

Its truly ridiculous all / most of the TV problems could have been sorted years ago, but they just won't.

Its not "flashing" - but instead of a seamless black background into the start of a programme, the emby backdrop appears for a couple of seconds. So if WMC Theme, its the blue background, if theme is blue radience and it's that background. It just looks odd and didn't used to be this way.

Both are requesting to show the audio format and quality. The problem with displaying it in the place indicated above is that is an album which could contain multiple different formats and qualities of individual songs in the album. So, the quality needs to be shown at the individual song level.

The new install did nothing, actually. The problem was in the networking configuration, to restrict access to my local subnet only. When I originally installed Emby, that restriction was useful from a security perspective. I accidentally found a way, through the iPhone app, to remove that network config and restore access. Something changed in this new version and removing the configuration for local network, solved my issue.

I love the native mode because it allows me to make sure that the content is not transcoded. For playback in my local network with kodi on my rpi and with the library synced, there is absolutely no reason to have the overhead of emby involved for playback. Not involving http for local playback gives a lot of stability /speed / reliablilty. Playback is all Kodi/smb. Kodi is without any doubts way superior for playback than the emby apps. As far as I can see there is no way to generally prohibit emby server from transcoding when using emby apps or kodi app in addon mode. On the other hand emby is by far the best solution for a media-server and library. Emby-Apps are also great for playing away form home or on mobile devices. At home I "only" use Emby to manage and sync the library, which it does really great. So combining kodi in native mode and emby server gets me the best on both sides. PLEASE do not give up on the native mode If you need anything regarding testing/support I am happy to help out anytime. CHEERS

That are likely sorted by Release Date, as within collection there are only 2 sort modes: chronological or by SortName (that is Emby core limitation, not SmartPlaylists). Edit Metadata on collection itself (three-dot menu) and change Display order to Sort Title, see whether that gives desired results.

im thinking a way to capture video and send it to hyperion and drive the led strip, which creates ambilight effect however, my tv which runs tizen has no app support like kodi, or other app can capture video, emby is my only hope... can emby team add a new feature/plugin which can talk to hyperion server? or opens up the api for what's currently playing something like https://libreelec.wiki/configuration/hypercon
