  1. Okay thank everyone, I'm going crazy. I could have sworn I read that somewhere. I probably was thinking about totally different software which provides premiere support. Anyway thank again, you're awesome!!

  2. I think LiveTV channel Icons/Images should update via the guide refresh, whether it be an m3u8 file of a HDHomerun or Tuner One of the current extremely frustrating issues is that if you use guide data, map the channels. Then Emby pulls the icons, this is fine. All is ok. However, when the Guide is changed, the icons don't change, so an incorrectly mapped file whether it be automatic or manual, won't get new channel images/icons until each "wrong" image is manually deleted. A checkbox to refresh images on guide updates or a button to refresh images manually (like a one time run)? So without this any changes make a channel will "appear" to be a completely different channel because of its channel logo/icon. Anything to update them without having to manually delete every single incorrect one (which is 3 deletes each, dark, light and grey with colour) would be very useful. Thanks

  3. Hi. Not sure if it would be possible to integrate a web browser into the client which can be controlled remotely. The idea is to remotely display websites on the client (e.g. Spotify, Netflix, Youtube) without leaving the emby environment. Bookmarks & saved login details could then be stored and managed similar to movies/musik. The embedded browser would offer an easy all-round usable alternative to future plugins e.g. Netflix that haven't been developed yet or are technically not possible as plugin. Michael

  4. The plugin is supposed to merge movies with the same tvdb id so they don't look like the same movie is listed multiple times, but rather a dropdown menu that lets you choose which version to play. But it doesn't seem to do anything.

  6. The new version is emby-android-google-armeabi-v7a-release installed on the Mi Stick 4K. This is the best. Next step, when the money allows, is to buy a Shield to have DTS HD MA.

  8. This is further explanation of my heath and pain. I used the spoiler tag (I hope it works on this site) so people will not have to read any more unwanted drivel about my problems) Note: The spoiler tag does not work so, if you do not want to read this message you will just have to not read the following. I hope it does not stretch the forum guidlines too far but, if it does, the mods can just delete this entire post. At 75 I should not complain about my health. I don't get out so people on the internet have to endure the brunt of my complaining. I hope I don't offend too many people. Every time I mention my health I feel the need to justify it. I served many many years ago in SE Asia and I was wounded there. I then played and coached in semi-pro soccer and then after I could no longer play I coached youth soccer. All the abuse I subjected my body to and exposure to dangerous chemicals like agent orange has caused me to be in almost continuous pain and to have various symptoms including the removal of one kidney and that is why I feel pain all the time now. At least I have found a pain reliever that works for me much of the time, Delta-8 THC, I am not advocating its use but I do encourage people with chronic pain that appears to require opioids to handle it to examine alternatives as I can now stay fairly pain free while not having to worry much about overdosing or causing further damage to my body. Delta-8 has probably saved my life at least in the short term. BTW: Should anyone want to try Delta-8 do NOT buy it from convenience stores or gas stations or what we used to call "Head shops" the product usually sold there is often not well tested or safe because of junk additives but there are many web sites that provide details of their products and processes and testing. Those are the ones to trust. I thought about providing a link to the sites that I use but I think that would be advertising and probably violate some site rules and maybe even the law in some states. But, if you PM me, I will provide the addresses I use most in anyone wants.

  11. You are more than welcome, I struggled with figuring out how to best use DrivePool in my set up and the "solution" I found may or may not be suitable for everyone. Just as a further explanation of the length of some of my posts, I have failing health and sometimes cannot say all that I want to say about something but, from time to time, I feel pretty good and then I tend to wax eloquent and sometimes go overboard in my posts. In this case, although I may be unclear in some things I say, I am having one of the best days I have had in a very long time so I probably say more than needs to be said. Sorry if my post was too long or too rambling for some. I make no promises or threats about my future posts.

  12. SUCCESS!!! Finally! So, since my first attempt didn't work, I uninstalled the app, and started fresh with v.18. I kept external storage and set it to only download on WiFi. Also set battery to unrestricted and left the app open. Now that it worked on 1 device, I'm going to uninstall on my other devices and try again since those are still having issues.

  13. First I believe your file organization is unnecessary as you can use collections to separate the files as you currently do with separate drives. I use DrivePool and I have 13 drives pooled into one. My movies (over 4000 of them) are all in one directory called Movies with sub-folders for each letter and under those there are directories like under "Star Wars" with all the "Star wars" movies under that. Emby is very very good at finding and cataloging movies no matter how deep ther are urried under the root folder which for me is "Movies." However be aware that you can play fairly fast and loose with directories for movies TV shows pretty much require strict adhearence to the naming and structure or the will get all messed up. Also I recommend that you store all "support" files alongside the media. That makes it easier to find and change many things. Also I use "file duplication" for directories containing media that would be hard to reproduce but be aware that "file duplicaion" is NOT a backup solution as it only produces redundancy but I have used my true backups only twice in the years I have been using DrivePool. Most of the time, when a drive fails all I hand to do was remove that drive and replace it with a new one and then let DrivePool reduplicate any files that were on the failed drive. I have only had a drive failure delete file when more than one drive failed (very very very rare) or I made some stupid mistake. I do not use duplication for media that i can easily reproduce, well relatively easily anyway, like a movie I have the DVD for, but there is media, like recorded content, that I would find it hard to reproduce so that gets included in the duplication process. DrivePool turns a bunch of drives into one drive and the resulting drive should be where Emby sees all the media BUT never use the pool for things like the Emby database. It may have been fixed recently but Emby and Plex and several other programs that rely on holding databases open really do not work well if that database is in the pool. LOT of people find access to files on a DrivePool drive to be slow and/or they try to keep some files on a fast drive. I do not, even with my big library, find that anything like an SSD necessary at all. My system is no better than average and I never have "slow" issues. I use DrivePool and I use balancing and file/folder duplication(Based on remaining space) but I keep it simple and do not try to micro-manage DrivePool. Oh, I forgot, All my DrivePool drives are external USB drives and I hit a limit of total USB devices connected some time ago. I will handle the two ways: 1. I will simply, every time a drive fails, replace it with a larger one and grow the pool that way. 2. If needed I will create another pool on another computer and access it over the network. One more thing a "server" should have no other duties except serving and whatever support tasks needed to support the server. A server computer should not have any regular tasks other than serving. DrivePool's website has a very good support section but they can be a little strict. Be sure, if you have a question, that you include all the relevant info and ask the question that you want answered. The people there are very responsive, a lot like here, but they are also very sensitive and unforgiving of questions like, "I want to use DrivePool, what should I do." Always be clear and concise and they will give you good, solid and accurate answers.

  14. If you are going to use pooling then this would no longer be the case as your files will be spread out across the discs. This is good because you no longer have to worry about which disc and you can easily add, remove or change discs without having to do anything in Emby. You could create different folders for those items if you wish.

  17. Nope. Premiere enables additional features for your server/client apps. All users receive same level of support. https://emby.media/support/articles/Emby-Premiere.html https://emby.media/support/articles/Premiere-Feature-Matrix.html

  19. Port 8095 is correct. I felt most hackers will try the default port, that was my logic. I removed Bitdefender. I reset all Windows firewall settings to the default settings. I noticed after executing embyserver.exe two new rules were automatically added: embyserver.exe for Protocol TCP and UDP on the same port. I reinstalled Bitdefender. Everything is working now fine! Thank you. Can you explain the Emby Premiere; I thought it allowed for direct or a higher level of support, is that correct? Thanks again.

  22. Hello @rbjtech, I read your reply lately and indeed, I have the same conclusions as you regarding PGSSUB. Using a 4K HDR10 @50Mbps media on my 12500T, I get the following result using a natively and dockerized emby for the same output and video segment. The media is on a distant NAS over a 1Gbps network link. VAAPI is used as decoder, QuickSync as encoder. Default settings everywhere else. Little to no overhead can be seen with docker, which is great. The CPU has been tested on various performance profile. Only 3 increase the performance even further by 10% : latency-performance, network-latency, network-troughput. The results below are on power-save profile : Installation Method Input Resolution Tone Mapped Active Subtitles Subtitle Overlay Output Resolution FPS Native 4K @50Mbps Yes No Hardware 1080p @10Mbps 106 Native 4K @50Mbps Yes Yes Hardware 1080p @10Mbps 83 Native 4K @50Mbps Yes Yes Software 1080p @10Mbps 52 Native 4K @50Mbps Yes No Software 1080p @10Mbps 104 Docker 4K @50Mbps Yes No Hardware 1080p @10Mbps 101 Docker 4K @50Mbps Yes Yes Hardware 1080p @10Mbps 83 Docker 4K @50Mbps Yes Yes Software 1080p @10Mbps 53 Docker 4K @50Mbps Yes No Software 1080p @10Mbps 101 b Using VAAPI only, the numbers are a little bit higher : 133 (instead of 106) without subs, 66 (instead of 53) with subs. Side note for @softworkz: current hardware overlay implementation does wash out the Tone Mapped colors when using QuickSync compared to software overlay or hardware overlay with VAAPI as shown in the attached screenshots. Using VAAPI as encoder result in poor performance when tone mapping method is set to Extra-T - OpenCL (less than 24fps) on my side. And the subtitle positioning is still off as noticed in another thread. The best overall solution is the default one proposed by emby : VAAPI all the way with software decoding for graphical subtitles. But, in a near future, when the tone mapping and subtitle position will be corrected by softworkz, the hardware overlay solution will be a much more efficient one to run.

  23. Yes, everything you are posting is Public. Your Premiere Key should not be required at this time. Please go over your remote access setup? Have you double checked everything is still valid as per Remote Setup ? Including has your WAN address recently changed? Firewall rules? Are your Port Forwarding rules still valid? What is the outcome of canyouseeme.org ? For your benefit and privacy, I have hidden your external address above. Also noticed you posted port '8095' - is that correct? Default port is '8096'

  27. THANK YOU. Sorry you had to write all that out, but thanks to your instructions, I was finally able to complete my first sideload successfully. Unfortunately, after all that, running the sideloaded emby-for-android app has unfortunately not solved my problem with AV1 playback. The AV1 files are still stuttering, which usually starts within the first 10 seconds of playback. If there's anything else I can try, please let me know. Thanks again.

  29. We are working on it, but unfortunately yes it is by country and we have to deal with a different Samsung rep for each one.

  30. For those in Canada can you please check the app store on your Samsung TV and let us know if the Emby app is available now? Thanks !
    1 point
  31. This is incorrect. Embedded title is displayed just fine if set on the server as per ebrs comment below this is the basis of the mediainfo plugin .. you are however limited to x characters in the andoid tv app. In Library > Advanced These are embedded titles automatically generated and written to the MKV track Title using the MediaInfo Plugin - but obviously any existing MKV track title will work as well.
    1 point
  32. Actually, if you have the option in the server set to prefer embedded titles, then you should see that in the TV app now. You just won't see both of them like the other app does.

  33. I can confirm no issue on jellyfin - whatever they have setup in the thing they call 'direct' in their playback audio is playing all my stuff that emby cant on auto, and also playing the stuff that locks up when emby is set to downmix to 5.1.

  34. Just to give you an idea of what we're dealing with, when I said I opened a ticket in April to add more countries, that ticket was eventually automatically closed by Samsung's ticketing system due to the assigned Samsung rep not responding to it within the required time period. Then they told us to resubmit, so we did, and the same thing was about to happen again, when finally on the very last day they gave us an email address of someone to contact. So they don't have a standardized process for this. Someone eventually has to grant you permission or partner status, and unfortunately, you have to talk to a different person for every country or region that you want to release in. This is not like other app stores where you just submit once and check off a list of all the countries you want to support. Anyway we are sticking with it via continued follow-ups so we'll see where that leads.

  35. Samsung expires the USB builds after 30 days. We alert you 1-2 days prior to that.
    1 point
  36. From what I understand the insertion of the expiration only started about a couple years ago. The distro version of the app is compiled on Samsung servers and the expiration is automatically added by Samsung during compiling to begin about 30 days after compiling. The only thing the Emby devs add is the reminder which starts a couple of days before the expiration so that you can start looking for a newer version. Otherwise you can get blindsided when starting the app and it doesn't work. These messages started being added a few months before the expiration started being added by Samsung. So yes, if you find an install file before Samsung started adding the expiration date it won't expire. I've posted a link to one such file on GitHub a few times. And if you can find a version which is even older than the one I linked then you won't get the notice message either.
