There seems to be a bug with the conversion status display. When going to download a movie, on my device I see download status as: But on the server's dashboard it shows. Obviously the progress isn't 0%. I don't know if this is an app or server issue, but can whatever needs to be updated, get updated so we can actually see the correct progress on the device?2 points

I'm a plex life time member, but I have been using Emby for over six years continuously, but there is a feature which I have always thought is missing in Emby which I would like and encourage the developer to consider including especially in this dispensation where families can social or commingle due to COVID 19. Today, I received a notification from Plex about it new feature titled Watch together you can read about it here https://support.plex.tv/articles/watch-together/ The feature allows friends and families at distance to watch same movies together instantly, you simply invite all your buddy, once they signed to the system which can be seeing in the server then play and pause as needed, this I think is cool feature should be added to emby. Let's here your though if Emby developer should consider adding this feature to our beloved Emby Media https://www.bing.com/news/search?q=Plex+Watch+Together&qpvt=plex+watch+together&FORM=EWRE1 point

-= PLEASE UP VOTE & PROMOTE THIS REQUEST IF YOU WOULD LIKE THIS FEATURE =- DO THIS BY CLICKING THE "LIKE" BUTTON ON THIS POST REQUEST: Properly pool multiple M3u IPTV sources, so when adding more than one with the exact same M3u emby treats them as one source with however many "Concurrent Streams" you set for each. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/63725-multiple-iptv-tuners-double-channels/?p=636718 https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/59607-duplicate-channels-one-tuner/?p=607031 https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/57420-multiple-identical-m3u-tuners-without-duplicate-channels/?p=560949 Basically once M3u #1 has used all 5 of its tuners, I then need to start using the login info that is within M3u #2... once those 5 tuners are used (now all 10 tuners), then emby issues "no tuners available". This is how emby treats HDhomeruns today, so it can't be to difficult. @@snodrog742 @@manolodf @@robrhedrick @@cayars1 point

The referenced conversation does not apply here. It was about the low-level extraction command that emby uses with ffmpeg and only in a certain case of chapter image extraction where specific time positions are given like -skip_list 8,94.7,402.9,560.3,815.4,... In that case, you want the first image at 8 seconds, the second at 94.7 seconds - and so on... What happens is that ffmpeg always outputs an image at position 0s before it creates the actual images. But of course, Emby server "knows" this and always discards that first image.1 point

HI, yes, it is, although we recommend RPI4 and above. @JaScoMaand @hootie418may have some tips.1 point

In 4.7 there isn't one. In the upcoming 4.8 release, the sort_with tag is now supported to set the sort order of the individual track (not the album). I think I do have a theory on this issue though, which is that although the server does not import the title from discogs, it might be getting the sort title. So I've put in a change to resolve that.1 point

hi, this is the root issue that should be looked at then because an audio-only client would not solve this. An audio only client would just be the same application with other media types hidden, so I don't think that would change anything.1 point

Ok, did more test and I have multiple thing. - 4k HDR 10 Video file with Dolby TrueHD 7.1 audio ==> Audio transcoding to 5.1 but video direct play. Good! - 4k HDR 10 Video file with Dolby 5.1 audio ==> Direct play. Good - 4k HDR 10 Video file with Dolby Atmos 5.1 audio ==> Direct play. Good - 4k HDR 10 Video file with DTS-HD MA 7.1 audio. No transcoding, but my received connected in HDMI ARC only receive DTS-HD MA 5.1 (it used to transcode to 5.1 like above) - 4k HDR 10 Video file with DTS 5.1 audio. Direct play. Good. - 1080p H264 video file with Dolby 5.1 audio ==> Direct Play - 1080p H264 video file with Dolby 5.1 audio ==> HLS Transcoding, video and audio transcoding - 1080p h264 video file with DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio ==> HLS Transcoding, vide0 and audio transcoding - 1080p h264 video file with DTS 5.1 audio ==> HLS trancoding, video and audio transcoding For the 4 1080p, I used 3 different files I'm unsure why one didn't trigger the transcoding of everything while the other did. I've tried to not mix up the log files 1080p dts 5.1 full transcode.txt1080p dolby 5.1 full transcode.txt4k hdr10 dolby truehd 7.1 - transcode (Remux log).txtserver.log1080p DTS-HD MA 5.1 full transcode.txt1 point

I won't give up on anyone, even you, GrimReaper. Contrary is my default response. Anyway, thanks for pointing out the problem, I have heard of it before, but I thought it's occurrence is more prominent in Emby server management. Thanks for a quick reply. B.1 point

I'm rude neanderthal to begin with, so you might just as well spare the effort. Anyway, you've reached inotify limit: Have a read here on how to increase default value:1 point

I had all file and media permissions blocked for emby within Nividia . Not sure how that all works but I do know emby now stops playing continuously with TV episodes. Before it would play through a whole season, luckily I hadn't finished converting so there weren't more seasons. LoL!!1 point

DV8 is definately fine as I'v played a few of those since the update (I'm now on .88 since the release) - I'll double check DV5 and DV7 .. I'll report back shortly ..1 point

I like this idea, but I just created a PowerShell script to automate this process using FFMPEG. I used that automation for a while, converting H.264 to HEVC, with minimal quality loss. I've recently switched from my own creation to Tdarr (because I can use the resources of multiple machines!) to encode stuff, and I am never looking back.1 point

Seems 8.2.8 has no more major issues. I wait for a couple more days for feedback and also perform some additional edge case testing. But I think I'll tag this version as stable in the next days.1 point

Emby was correct. It was likely as @meeee2020said, failed init sync. I.e. kodi crashes during the initial sync, i just restart kodi (not knowing it existed unexpectedly) and it "picks up" the initial sync and keeps going... looking successful when it's done but clearly not. But this is all a loose guess and vague memory on my part.1 point

Thanks, as of right now I just uninstalled that plug-in. I'll talk to my family later and find out if they can run emby now.1 point

Gotcha. Hopefully GA code will be sometime "Soon" I had stumbled across another thread where 4.8 fixed a similar issue. Thanks for responding.1 point

I ended up buying a Mecool KM7, was able to sideload v7 of the Emby client, and download media to a microSD for playback offline. Everything so far seems to be working as I want, and I now have a travel media solution to play on TV's!! It will also be the box to stream local content on the patio. Thanks for the help.1 point

The Emby devs seem to associate audiobooks and podcasts as being the same thing. Since podcasts can potentially have different thumbnails and descriptions for each episode, they have decided to waste UI space giving each audiobook chapter more screen real estate for its own individual artwork, (as well as space for its own description on certain screens). I have complained about this before several months ago, as well as lobbying for audiobook support in general for years. It would appear the devs aren't actually interested in implementing more than token audiobook support.1 point

I use SyncBack Pro - it just compares the previous backup to what's 'new'. Any half decent backup software is going to use the Archive Attribute of the files (as a bare minimum) to determine what was previously backed up - there should be no need to do a backup of everything each time !1 point

To me a list makes the most sense. I have quite a few audiobooks, and none of my content has unique images for a given chapter. Given that Emby historically hadn't had a lot of development towards improving the Audiobook experience, I had made the switch to Audiobookshelf (better metadata sources like Audible, the ability to add a single book to multiple series). I would much prefer to have everything handled by Emby, and some of the recent developments are compelling.1 point

Thank you Great product. Just dumped DirecTV and we’re all Emby, HDHomerun, and IPTV now.1 point

hello luke, when i restarted the emby server i saw an error about the certificate in the log. "error:23076071:PKCS12 routines:PKCS12_parse:mac verify failure" i decided to regenerate the certificate, i use ssh and the root account, and i restart the server. Now everything is good. I thinkmy mistake was, i was using an another account that is member of "administrator group" , but i think there is a problem with the rights of this account to correctly generate the certificate, even if the account is member of "administrator group" Regards1 point

It's supposed to be hidden behind the more button, but for some reason with webkit's rendering engine, it sometimes spills out and creates the mess that you're seeing. Try it on android or windows and you'll see it works correctly. That leaves us with two choices: Either I remove all html (and have lots of unhappy users), or you simplify your html so that it doesn't happen anymore. Third choice is of course leaving it as-is and hoping a fix from webkit comes along at some point.0 points

Don't add quality to file names. Stop pirating.0 points

Just curious if this is still on anyone's mind. None of my playlists are good anymore because I include video quality in the file names. Every time Radarr or Sonarr download a newer version, it's due to it being a different quality, therefore, it gets removed from a playlist. Anyone who uses TRaSH's guides for naming conventions cannot realistically utilize playlists.0 points
