  1. Hi Would be really helpful if the auto convert options had a selection for stereo audio (2.0), instead of just the default 5.1 audio.

  2. Be able to create playlist based on a certain criteria, like genre and or year, in order to create a dynamic playlist that it refreshes automatically when new content is added. This way you can for example, create a tv comedy playlist from the 90's, or a new sci-fi Movies playlist. Some other criteria for rules could be the rating, watched/unwantched, score, tags, language, audio codec, etc The possibilities could be endless

  3. Hey All, Firstly, excellent work! secondly, I noticed that this has stopped working in Emby 4.6.4.0, I have forked the repo and fixed if anyone is interested. (Have PR out for main repo) https://github.com/ShanePe/Emby.SmartPlaylist.Plugin/ Sorry also, I have made an update, if the playlist has NOT yet been generated, it will generate it, regardless of the playlist schedule trigger. So one no longer need to 'manually' run first to initialize the playlist if it falls outside of playlist generation schedule. (Make sense !?!?!?!) Version 2.4.0.3 Feature Create a copy of a playlist. (Duplicate) Decluttered UI by adding a pop up menu to playlists New Criteria: Added Audio Stream Codec Criteria (Stream: Audio Codec) Added Audio Stream Language Criteria (Stream: Audio Language) Added Audio Stream Display title Criteria (Stream: Audio Display Title) Added Subtitle Stream Language Criteria (Stream: Subtitle Language) Added Video Stream Codec Criteria (Stream: Video Codec) Added Video Stream Display title Criteria (Stream: Video Display Title) Updated Criteria: Parental Rating: Now uses official rating under the hood Resolution Height: Now uses video streams to determine the available video heights rather than the metadata. Resolution Width: Now uses video streams to determine the available video widths rather than the metadata. Added Monitor Mode to shuffle playlist type. Meaning that the playlist will be destroyed and recreated on a schedule, but between scheduled executions, media item changes will be batched and monitored for inclusion/exclusion. (So .... combination of live and shuffle modes but could have a perf hit on larger playlists, experimental) Collapsible sections in the playlist editor that keeps state, for more UI real estate. Added the ability to add notes to a playlist (limited to 256 chars). If there are notes assigned a pop up is displayed when hovering over a playlist (2 second delay). Order all selection lists on criteria with dropdowns alphabetically. ------------------------------------------------------- Releases Here -> (See change logs in this thread .... way down) Plugin for Emby Server 4.8: SmartPlaylist-2.5.0.4810.zip

  4. Since music is highly tag driven now, especially with musicbrainz tags, can we please fully use those tags to keep libraries better organized? Some artists credit themselves with multiple names over their career. for example, Fela Kuti: https://musicbrainz.org/artist/6514cffa-fbe0-4965-ad88-e998ead8a82a all the variations have the same mbz artist tag. So naturally, mbz lists them all together on the same artist page. But emby separates every spelling difference into its own unique artist page. matching mbz tags should pool together under one page, with the unique name changes listed underneath the albums.

  7. it's not really the contents of the menu im having an issue with. its that, on any screen thats not the main menu, you can close the menu with back, but on the main menu, hitting back on it doesn't close the menu, it closes the app without any confirmation which is very aggrivating because if youre clicking back a lot to get to the main menu and click it one too many times you have to reopen the app. the menu also keeps opening whenever im browsing and hit left too many times and i would prefer to disable it honestly and just click the user icon, but thats been removed from some screens ah that makes sense, i think previously hitting up would open the info/chapter tab so i hadnt tried that

  9. Bingo! Thanks for the help. FYI = right-click/Open didn't work but the system preferences route did.

  10. I added 3 more items then it started to pick things up. I added them one by one and not sure why it started working.

  12. Only solution I know is you creating the collections manually for 4K and 1080p but even then you might end up with two similar collections, one containing all the 4K files and the other one containing the 1080p files. My solution to that was using the CoverArt plugin and mark the 4K ones so that I can easily identify them: Btw.. Same problem applies to "Continue Watching".

  14. I'm seeing this also, and this started after updating Unraid to 6.12.0. From change logges for Unraid 6.12.0 i see they updatet from docker: version 20.10.18 to docker: version 23.0.6 There are several open issues with docker at Unraid about these docker issues. So that tells me that something is now different, not sure what. In the below pic you can see emby docker memory usage and when i updated unraid. The update was done on the 06-17-2023 Yesterday I decided to limit emby docker memory, by using this extra docker command --memory="[memory_limit]" [docker_image] Now emby has a memory max of 4GB. I have not see the memory bloat after, and emby is running smoothly again.

  15. Here is the error message the debug counsel gives me. For reference I used Firefox and auto organize to give the error. I am also using the app.emby.media to access the web UI. console-export-2023-6-26_17-21-22.txt

  16. I searched and found this. What is strange is that I rarely use emby. But I'll give it a shot.

  17. All the user accounts have been for family members living in the same house, and the NAS was accessible on local network only. I am the admin and had set a password on my account. Now even the family members have one. I would like all family members to keep their Emby accounts, but I would like users not part of the family circle to not have access to Emby. Now since I have put passwords for all family members, this should be ok. Other users see the Emby app but should not be able to launch a session as they don't have user accounts. Need to verify this more in details through, i have not tested extensively. So the suggested solution, unless i misunderstood, is not exactly what i wanted to do. At first I thought it was possible to remove the Emby app / icon for all users which are not family members, but did not managed to do that. if i confirm after my tests that I've now a set-up which is meeting my requirements, i'll be happy and i'll stop there. thanks

  18. This is the mobile app on both iOS and Android platforms. It seems like the font has limited capability regarding CJK characters. > Go Noto Current has limited support for CJK -- it offers the full Unihan IICore subset plus more glyphs, so it should work ok-ish for daily use but there can be missing glyphs. So I did some research on Unihan fonts and I found this similar forum post regarding the same problem happening on Ubuntu systems https://askubuntu.com/questions/280116/why-does-japanese-text-show-up-with-chinese-glyphs I believe the ideal solution would allow Japanese text to use it's own font (Noto Sans CJK JP is what I use) either through allowing the user to choose a font or simply switching the font when the subtitle is specified as JP.

  19. How's you memory right now? Be careful with Debug logging on as it has always made the problem worse for me. I've narrowed the problem down for me and can reproduce at will. What I've found is that when library scans are taking place any error events trap memory that isn't freed until the scan is complete. If you have the ability get a graph going of memory used for the day or starting at the beginning of the test. Restart your Emby server so it's using the least amount of RAM to start with. After it restarts give it a minute or two to calm down, then go into Scheduled Tasks and run a Scan Media Library job by clicking on the arrow to the right. You can run this with debug log. If you see memory starting to climb go into the logs menu and click on the 2nd icon from the right on the top server log to open the log in a new window. Are you seeing errors in the log that match the time the memory starts to climb? Carlo

  20. Is there any possibility we could add an option that would allow Emby to trust X-Forwarded-For and X-Real-IP headers? Essentially reverting back to 4.7.11 behavior? Currently I'm stuck on 4.7.11 as I was hit by the recent Emby vulnerability and as a precaution, placed an nginx proxy server in front of Emby. All requests get proxied through nginx where headers are stripped and replaced (to not allow for the situation that allowed for Emby to be compromised in the first place). This is a pretty common setup for services that run in docker containers so you don't have to deal with configuring SSL for every service. Any chance for this?

  21. By the way, I think this error was being thrown due to invalid data in the "Lan Networks" setting in Emby Server network settings. Do you know what value you had before? The reason a reinstall fixed it is likely due to the value being unset now. Anyway, we'll look at handling the situation better. Thanks.

  22. STOP before anyone starts adding password reset approaches stop. This is an attack surface that is exploited daily on all sorts of systems, password reset in general is a reasonably well know issue that nearly ALL authenticated systems have to deal with, there are lots of models out there and I would suggest having a close look at the different approaches some well know services use before trying to come up with something new. At a bare minimum you should add a link to the login page to "Request a password rest" as a bare minimum this would notify the Admin accounts on the system that a user has sent a password reset request. There is already a notification system built into Emby with email plugins etc. The admin can then do what they need to. Hopefully the admin has contact details of the user and they can just ping them a new password. Automated Solutions: From an automation point of view. The email is a good idea but for local users there is no email associated so that would have to be added. And then to send the email, well there is already an notification system in Emby with an email notification plugin so perhaps that might be usable. I don’t know I have not played with the new user set up for notification much. But as a bare minimum you should add request password reset to the login page that notifyes the admin users. If it is just a matter of adding a new notification type to the existing notification system and then admins can set themselves up to be notifyed.

  23. Nope, unfortunately thats entirely not true: Currently, emby does not group artists based on ids. It groups them based on what is written in the "artist" or "album artist" tags. Therefore any variation in spelling, punctuation, etc results in a brand new unconnected artist being added into emby. Here are four albums all with the same artist and albumartist id tags from mbz: All four of those show up in their own page without a connection to each other because the spellings are different for every one. Emby Should group based on id tags, that way all of these can be found on one page, and then list the specific name used underneath each album. But it currently does not do that.

  24. I think whatever way you do this, you are going to run into the issue of does the user requesting the password reset have the Authorisation/Authentication to do so. ie are they who they say they are and should be allowed to reset the password. If you have to give them a 'link' then you may as well reset their password ... Just spitballing - but I guess we have the deviceid to work with (unique to that device I believe) meaning you need the physical device to be able to reset a password, we have the last logged on users for that device. So maybe setup a PIN per user - in conjunction with the above deviceid and previously logged on user within say the last week - and they can reset their own password (using a link on the emby login page) using the pin, but only on Approved devices and only within 1 week of the last sucessful login on that device.? if the user forgets their PIN.. then pack up and go home ...

  25. Hi all.. i was wondering if there is a way to link together related series and movies. Ex Firefly and it's conclusion movie Serenity. I can add them both to a collection i guess but as far as i tried they don't show up in my series section. Maybe we could just have a way to link them like we can link music videos to albums.. Thoughts? thanks!

  26. Unfortunately we don't just yet, though it's still on our list! Once more information is available, we'll be posting it and advertising it through our official channels :) Correct! We're using the TMDb API in order to have posters match directly with a movie/show/person/collection/company/etc.. while not turning into yet another metadata provider :)

  27. The music side of emby needs some of your love, "export playlist" is a very basic feature for music, I moved to Subsonic for music and I can tell you that emby only needs to add like 6 basic functions it lacks. All of your attention goes to the movie side of emby, but you barely care about the music side it takes years for you to add basic functions, as example emby barely started to support m3u and other formats barely this year and then was broken for a few months. In some days I will post a list of the needed features, I moved my music out of emby because I notice that the music features don't get much attention from you.
