Duplicate of another request, but not sure why this one would be so hard to implement since the code is probably almost already done as you can already detect other flags and use them. SDH is just another flag which ffprobe supports and it would be nice to be able to configure a userid to use SDH as their defaulted type. Also, the default flag is NOT a very good permanent solution for myself as I'm already using that flag for FULL subtitles. My wife is almost deaf and needs SDH. Myself I have a hard time picking out some words occasionally and prefer Full subtitles which is my default, but I don't need everything that's in SDH subtitles when the wife isn't watching with me. Then my son uses Forced when he visits. Why can't Emby fully support SDH subtitles like Kodi does? Kodi recognizes internal flagged SDH PGS subtitles and also external subtitles with .SDH in the filename. They have a setting for SDH subtitles too. OpenSubtitles even adds SDH or HI to their filenames so that would be automatic when downloading external subtitles. As you see it's been over 2 years and we still don't support people like my wife with disabilities a little more by allowing them to make SDH subtitles their default type without using another flag that may already be used for another type.4 points

Hi. Unfortunately, no. Their process is convoluted and dis-jointed but we may be making small progress soon. Thanks.2 points

There is also the option to put back not requiring a password on the LAN. Depending on the client - there may also be an option to use a Pin or Navigation Combo instead. If the latest release has been installed, system fully checked as per the clean up instructions (if you were impacted obviously..) and only the non Admin accounts have this option set, then imo I don't believe there is much of a risk. We haven't been given any ETA for the client side password fix - and entering a password every time is simply not workable - and all that will happen is users will start setting very short/weak passwords - as there is nothing to stop them. If they have remote access on the same account, this will in turn weaken security, not increase it... Again, nothing to stop a brute force attempt at the moment. An ETA on the client side fix would be good - and then let the user make the judgement call.2 points

So it literally takes seconds to search by library in the API - Search on my Movies library only - curl -X GET "http://emby.rbjtech.lan:8096/emby/Items?Recursive=true&SearchTerm=Big%20Bang%20Theory&ParentId=2237026&api_key=*" -H "accept: application/json" Result - { "Items": [], "TotalRecordCount": 0 } I'm searching for 'Big Bang Theory' in my Movies library, I get zero results - that's what I'm expecting. Same search on my TV library - curl -X GET "http://emby.rbjtech.lan:8096/emby/Items?Recursive=true&SearchTerm=Big%20Bang%20Theory&ParentId=2834901&api_key=*" -H "accept: application/json" Result { "Items": [ { "Name": "The Big Bang Theory", "ServerId": "*", "Id": "3054911", "RunTimeTicks": 15000000000, ..... "TotalRecordCount": 281 } I now get 281 results. The key here is where you start the search from - by just using the 'ParentId' - you can do a library or even lower level search if you like. A quick Plugin to list the libraries and a search from a library selection will probably take a few minutes to write ... BUT if the mechanism for searching libraries is this easy, then why can this not simply be incorporated into the drop down menu's of each library ? It will just send back an API request with a ParentId of that library ... Err... what am I missing here ? (I have no need for this, I have a large(ish) library, but search for me is instant, I see the results change as fast as I can type in the characters...)2 points

I would like to allow users to reset their passwords via a time-limited reset link sent to their email, similar to how Ombi does this. Each user can have an email address linked, and the server has SMTP details set; users can then press 'reset password' and enter an email to have a link sent to said email (assuming they entered a valid one and its linked a user) which takes them to a password reset page where they can enter and confirm a new password. Only if any of this isn't setup correctly does it request you contact the admin instead. I've had a few users somewhat frequently forgetting their passwords, especially when they don't use emby regularly. It would be nice to have a way for them to resolve this themselves. Currently the 'reset password' link on Emby just tells you to contact the admin (presumably it's more functional with connect users? Don't know, I don't use connect) and it involves manually resetting their password for them to something fairly complex, sending that password to them via text/email (neither of which I'm comfortable with, I just just don't have better options most of the time), then hoping/pestering them to change it to something only they know. It's far more of a hassle than it needs to be and rather insecure.1 point

Unfortunately, the link at the top of that page with that information appears outdated. The RTD1619B is an ARMv8 processor. Also, if you look towards the top of your server log there should be a command line with something like this at the end of it: -updatepackage emby-server-synology7_{version}_armv8.spk Besides, if you pick the wrong one it will reject it1 point

decided to check out the latest Beta and found that 4.8 does indeed fix my issue...thanks!1 point

Further info....its not a Roku issue but normal function for Sony K85 TV's..... IF you have Dolby Vision on, 720x480 sources display in a weird 4x4 format. Designed so you can't have Dolby Vision on while playing DVD's apparently. (but buying new Blu Rays will work just fine....) So I'm up-converting files to 1280x720.....1 point

@pünktchenand @BillOatmanMy ambition is to replace my EPG above with the embedded Emby EPG. I want to learn how to do it. Emby players can then choose what they want to play from my Emby library. I can then use my tablet and the associated dashboards to monitor and manage all of the Emby clients playing content on my network. I used my integrated content selection tool to select what each channel includes. I can post screen shots of this if you like. Through this exercise I have learned the Emby REST API, the ApiClient, how to build plugins, the plugin API, how to build an Emby Web Client, a little about the Emby architecture, the Emby Library and how to surf its contents, how to fetch and edit images, and so much more. The end game is to grow and learn. This keeps me young and alert. My give back to the Emby community is all of my code and sharing what I have learned with others. Vic1 point

This is a result of the increased server security following the hacking attack. I believe there are plans to adapt the clients to make them able to remember multiple passwords without compromising the new security - but this requires some time and planning as the previous reliance on recognising local systems is being changed. Things should improve and become easier again after a while. Paul1 point

Yeah, hacking peoples systems and maintaining that connection usually requires avoiding being noticed... Don't be complacent and make sure you don't have other compromised systems/services. Literally everything else you do with that computer is potentially at risk; online banking for example. The good news is the domain that 'pluggin' was sending your data too is no longer active as of a few weeks ago now. (assuming you don't have an updated version of the virus than what emby had analyzed, still a good idea to send them your copy)1 point

Yep! That was it. Removed and now all good. Thanks so much.1 point

Good to hear, however as your system has detected the presence of one the key infected files. I would take the time to perform some of the necessary actions in the advisory, looking for and deleting any of the other known affected files. Also ensure you upgrade to the latest version 4.7.13.0 and perform these actions:1 point

I would remove this mapping from your Docker config ...since it's already covered by the /home/115 mapping Then I would remove the /movie_1080p library in Emby, and re-add it using the full path: /home/115/movie_1080p which is the same path format that the "working" Anime library is using. Let it rescan the library and try again.1 point

Ok we’ll take another look at it. Thanks for the update.1 point

@JanLenochFirst of all, let me say that you're on the right track with everything you did so far. I recently proposed internally to change the Windows installation method and make it the default to install Emby Server as a Windows Service under a (new or existing) user account with limited privileges. It's in fact a very bad idea to run a public-facing service under the account of the user who installs the server. Regarding Hauppauge tuner support, I am not familiar with details of the implementation. But what I can tell is that this is going through execution of HauppaugeWindowsProvider.exe which is included in Emby Server. In order to determine which specific privileges are missing you could run SysIntermals' ProcessMonitor. Set it up to filter by executable name (HauppaugeWindowsProvider.exe) and trigger the channels update. From the output you might be able to determine the permissions (registry, file, COM activation) which you need to assign to your service account to get it working.1 point

Hi and welcome! I don't have experience with the MCE remote, but I use a Harmony 650 with Emby and an Nvidia Shield and the channel numbers do work. When I enter a number while watching a Live TV show, it brings up the mini-guide at that channel and all I have to do is press Ok and it tunes to the channel.1 point

It has been a while and I'd like to bring attention to this feature request again. Specifically, it would be fabulous to have the option to search either globally or just within the library one is in. Probably not every user needs or wants this. But it would be a great option for users with large libraries with different types of media who do need it. If other users agree, please respond or include positive feedback and even examples as to why this would be a valuable feature addition for EMBY. Cheers!1 point

Yeah, it sounds like your trying to edit Emby's library metadata? That's not going to work for music/audiobooks, they are driven by the embedded tags. If your on windows (mp3tag), if Linux (Kid3 is my pick).1 point

Actually, they are building a content (and advertising) delivery mechanism and using you to harvest users .1 point

Hi, your issue should be resolved in the upcoming 4.8 server release. Thanks.1 point
