  1. Emby recently added a new season view that changes how users can access episodes and view seasons. On the surface it looks good, however, Emby removed some functionality: 1) unwatched episode count no longer appears; 2) Users can no longer access the season context menu to make edits. IMO, both of these CAN be added, but since Emby doesn't plan to add them, I'm in the "Don't plan to use" group, and I'm interested to hear what others think. Unfortunately, it appears polls have been removed, so to vote, use these emojis: Yes: Like No: Agree Maybe: Confused Mobile/Web View TV View Where to find the option Go to Display and scroll to bottom and you'll see a drop down for Preferred TV Show display. Edit: Go to http://app.emby.media. That web app gets updated more frequently than the local server web app.

  2. Single Season shows only for me - have set it as default for all my users. Nobody every complained about the Season View with multiple Seasons - the idea for the FR was for single Season shows to be 'flatterned' and that works very well now. The show season folders for ALL seasons is just poorly implemented imo. So I guess that's a 'No' (agree) from me.

  3. no I dont, given that the original info was sensoued Source: XX.XXX.XX.XXX:XXXX (unknown, different from my IP) Target: XXX.XXX.X.XX:XXXX (Target is my IP) I assumed (unknown, different from my IP) meant external. However the log4j vulnerability is usually triggered remotly to run local code on a system. https://logging.apache.org/log4j/2.x/security.html It exploits a vulnerability in some special lookup capabilities in the log4j library and that allowed an attacher to get log4j to download and run code. Due to log4j being so widespread and in so many systems and IOT devices there are a lot of scanners out there that either try to exploit it or are just scanning for it so thy can sell the IP on a list or vulnerable systems.

  6. Would it not be a good idea to have a metadata option for music videos that is actually for music, so that if there's nothing available in a music video db it could be identified from a music db ?

  7. Awesome. Thanks for the quick reply! I look forward to the latest release.

  8. Just reporting in that after using the beta for close to a month now and my site hasn't been flagged. I previously tried modifying the docker image's metadata each time, but still got flagged. My guess is that the metadata was too simple like "Personal Server" and probably other users had the same name.

  9. It’s related to the params being passed to ffmpeg.

  10. Try removing the query string from the route definition.

  11. That will work for now, but it would be nice to be able to have automated backups. So hopefully it get's implemented soon.

  12. HI, please try again with the next update to the Emby LG app. Thanks.

  13. I watch a lot of foreign movies/TV shows, so they have subtitles. Kodi's player offers a great deal more customization and flexibility than any of the Emby applications, Windows or other platforms. Also it FF's and RW's much more smoothly. But Emby's server/client functionality is way ahead of Kodi's. It's a quandary! So I'm stuck using both.

  14. Granted it won't stop your TV from sending out upnp queries, it will just stop the server from responding to them. So see if that helps.

  15. I don't know about anyone else, but I have so many movies, I spend so long looking for something, I almost put myself off. Had the same problem since the hundreds of digital TV channels, vs the 4 terrestrial I grew up with. Certainly not for everybody, but what about an option to only show X number of items, for Y number of days? This could be basic and refresh in one big hit at the end of Y-days, or even better, stagger new items adding/dropping, each day - a bit like streaming services. With the latter, when items are due to expire, the home-screen could have a 'last chance' section. Obviously, depending on size of library, it is only a matter of time before they are randomly re-selected to appear again. No admin, no manual selecting what, when or who, just X-items, Y-days, and let Emby figure the rest. This would be just to limit choice for browsing. If a user knew exactly what they wanted, perhaps they should be able to directly search for it, and still have access. It is just too much choice can get overwhelming, and I think a bit harmful, as you easily miss to much just wading through. With limited options you give yourself time to consider what is on offer, and perhaps find hidden gems, you wouldn't have otherwise. Got users who don't like the limits, and really want to be bombarded with everything, everytime - it's a checkbox away to let them have it all back. Just a thought.

  16. We are working on getting this into the store for tv devices so that you won't have to do this. Thanks.

  17. For me the "new" season view is nothing more than a solution in search of a problem. I see no need for it, as long as it remains out of my way I have no objection at all. For me the old correct view is the only view that makes any sense.

  18. Thank you for the suggestion, I have not tried yet, right now I'm fighting to make my emby jail accessible through tun openvpn server interface (but that's another topic). I decided to use Truenas core to avoid messing around with ZFS configuration on a standard Debian, and because Truenas scale was full of bugs when I tried it. I'm however starting to wonder if I don't end up with more headache everything considered. Whatever, I will try going through enabling hardware acceleration and get back to this post to report how it went.

  19. I'm not 100%, but I think if it has had reactions to it, then you can't edit it. A moderator should be able to change it for you or unlock it. @CBers@GrimReaper

  21. Is it possible to have the two things split to: display in continue watching on home-screen and display as latest media. This could solve the problem of the same movie showing twice when you are using certain plugins. Also would like to maybe remove latest movies but would like to show up in continue watching.

  22. @MBSki can you add this to the first post. Go to http://app.emby.media. That web app gets updated more frequently than the local server web app. So people can see the changes coming in 4.8, if they use local ip/port

  23. Looks like there have been several sever updates and one of them fixed it! I am now able to play those files transcoded. We are good here! Got one more issue involving Dolby Vision on direct play, but i will start new thread for that. Thank you!!

  24. Because you're posting in support forum - you can open one in General Discussion (not a support forum).

  25. Ok will try that. And yes only use the local ip and port normally.

  26. Still on stabil, so haven't seen it. I have an admin user for admin usage, that account will stay with the old way of seeing things. Not sure about my viewer account, but will definitely try it out. If I don't like it it will go back to standard.

  27. I'll ping you the latest DLL over PM - if you had the Plugin before - then you know what's what ps - remember to turn off the Core Task (and delete all the .fp files once you are happy with the Plugin)

  28. Have i5 12600K, 64GB RAM and NVME drives for system and Emby metadata. I'm fine to do it all again, especially to be able to have it done properly, wish I hadn't removed the plug-in and started with the core, half expecting core to be more mature by now and then some.

  29. This is definitely what’s happening because it happened to me (on a Synology NAS). Saw an error randomly the other day on a ScripterX task in my log. I never installed it and am the only local user on the system. Looked into it and it was installed about a week ago right after my user authenticated from “127.0.0.1” (was 100% not me and it’s not the local IP that shows up when I log in for real). Not great!!

  30. Until I can figure out what this is, the Roku beta won't make any difference. We're looking into it and, once I have something to test, I will invite you guys to the app beta. Thanks.

  31. Issue SOLVED. Via SSH I delete the DATA folder referring to the old installation. The folder was insider "@appdata". After that, a full new installation with backup restore, solved the issue.

  33. Well that's unfortunate. Kind of a bummer that it worked perfectly until a couple of weeks ago and is still working in Windows. Hopefully this functionality will return in 4.8. Thank you for your time and your assistance. -Greg

  34. Hi @quickmicWhen i watch a movie with Kodi (Coreelec) it is not displayed under activities, yesterday i have watched two movies, but nothing is displayed. Is this normal or is this not embyforkodi related and it is server dependent? Server version 4.8.0.37 - e4k version 8.1.1 - 8.1.4 After database reset with version 8.2.0 it works normal, sorry.

  35. New PUBLIC TESTING version available 8.2.0: Delta changelog 8.1.4 -> 8.2.0 support livetv channel numbers improve Emby server queries improve playlist nodes several minor fixes fix disable image enhancers some performance improvements Comment: A mandatory database reset required. Tested with Emby server 4.8.0.37 beta. According to my tests, performance is finally back to the same level as <=.19. Thanks to @Lukeaddressing the issues. If you are still on Emby server beta .19, I think it's save to upgrade. Anyway, if you do so take a FULL backup of Emby server. Otherwise not possible to downgrade if you run into issues.

  39. Emby Server and Emby Theater Now Available as Snap Packages We are proud to announce that Emby Server as well as our Premiere client Emby Theater, are now available as Snap Packages for Linux distributions. This makes installing Emby a snap. What are Snaps? Snaps are a type of secure containerized applications that work on any Linux distribution using systemd. Snaps are multi-platform, dependency-free applications that are easy to install. One of the biggest advantages of snap applications is that they update automatically! Snaps are self-contained applications that run in a sandbox with mediated access to the host system making them secure and quite easy to work with. Choose your Linux distribution to get detailed installation instructions. Arch CentOS Debian elementary OS Fedora KDE Neon Kubuntu Manjaro Pop!_OS openSUSE Red Hat Enterprise Linux Ubuntu Raspberry Pi If your distribution is not shown, get more details on installing snapd documentation. 41. Personally, I would love the ability/function to turn them off completely. In my setup, there's no need for a watch indicator. I don't watch shows via Emby and our film library is for repeated use/viewing. The green circle breaks up the aesthetic, IMHO.
