  2. Hi, can you please attach the emby server log? Thanks.

  3. Honesty I think of it as Emby is...the best, BUT, you have to work for it. I haven't actually used Plex much, I stumbled upon Emby first when I was looking for a server solution early on and focused on it. I've been in the space a long time though, and have read about issues with Plex, and Emby too (though it seems far more with Plex). I can honestly say in the better part of a decade(?) -ish I've been with Emby, I've only had maybe 20 problems. I'd say 15 of those were responded to within a few hours (most were me not knowing what I was doing) and a handful of them were legitimate gripes, that were fixed within a day or two on their end ( I mean, realistically, they were mostly fixed the next day. What more do you really need?). The other 5 or so? yeah, it needs work. I've gone through the back end to fix things manually a few times (thought I kind of love that), which brings me to my main point. Emby is to Android what Plex is to iPhone. They both do similar things, they both work, just one is more user friendly and one is more user customizable. I guess to answer your question, Jellyfin - the free one. Plex - the all in one media solution. Emby - the one that works. I'll just add, I'm only here now because I'm cleaning up my music on Emby (things got right fucked and pulled all my movies as soundtracks if I had the composer). Again, yeah, shit needs work. But, and this is a big one, I haven't been on the community page in a year or two and of course, what's the first thing I notice? EVERYTHING has @Luke or @ebrcommenting on things.

  4. I ran the quick-start guide and all my settings were preserved, thankfully. Just required a full library rescan

  5. That felt so nice, to create one of these again. Even after having Lost all filling in one of my hands I can still make these.

  6. Thanks for sharing, I wasn't aware of Freaktab. I'll check that out. I agree. Amazon is selling these to the general public though so I can't downplay it. If the tech community thinks it's a problem, and a security researcher finds a problem, wth is Amazon doing? Building a Chinese botnet in North America on purpose?

  7. This is why I tell people to go to Freaktab and get a community rom for said boxes. It's been well known for ages (at least a decade) that you do not use the stock rom on these chinese boxes.

  8. can i assume that, based on the lack of activity fixing it, you dont think this is a particularly significant issue? i really hope you're not just waiting for 4.8 to go stable because it feels like its been a couple of weeks since this issue was reported and you've been hoping in vain for 4.8 to go stable for a while now. and even when it does a lot of people will prefer to remain on 4.7 to the new version settle down. this issue needs patching in 4.7 asap

  9. Hi. Some of our apps require either Premiere or a one-time unlock for playback. Thanks. Emby Premiere Feature Matrix

  10. agreed - this has absolutely not been answered and i'm not comforted by the dev's ignoring the explicit questions on this

  11. Cool - I just use Scripter-X to write a seperate Auth log which is pushed via ssh to my DMZ/RP for fail2ban. If the native Emby Webhooks can write the Auth log, then I'd happily get rid of scripter-x as I was unhappy with the 'package' side of scripter-X anyway but there is no way to disable just that part .. Thanks for the update all. HOWEVER - I'm still unclear (as is the OP) on how scripter-x was installed in the first place. Is there a vulnerability (spoofing local access via remote access) in Emby (on the current Release) or not - as with no local Admin password, that is all it would take to remotely install scripter-x, which then acts as a springboard for further executable code to be downloaded ... ?

  16. New PUBLIC TESTING version available 8.2.0: Delta changelog 8.1.4 -> 8.2.0 support livetv channel numbers improve Emby server queries improve playlist nodes several minor fixes fix disable image enhancers some performance improvements Comment: A mandatory database reset required. Tested with Emby server 4.8.0.37 beta. According to my tests, performance is finally back to the same level as <=.19. Thanks to @Lukeaddressing the issues. If you are still on Emby server beta .19, I think it's save to upgrade. Anyway, if you do so take a FULL backup of Emby server. Otherwise not possible to downgrade if you run into issues.

  17. The actual scripting feature is nice yes, but that should have been done without the whole downloading of remote code aspect.

  18. No, it didn't happen like that. ScripterX is a plugin which loads and updates individual functionality as "packages" from its own "store" which is not under control of Emby. What you could argue at max is that a plugin like this shouldn't have been admitted to the catalog.

  19. Actually, they are building a content (and advertising) delivery mechanism and using you to harvest users .

  21. It is not A FILE that stutters it's most files so uploading a sample might not help, but I'll try to get some time. Yep, AndroidTV app built into the TV is the problem for me. Oddly, TheClaus had a movie with multiple audio tracks playing the DD track working but for me DD would still stutter, although in my case the first track was TrueHD. I also don't think this is brand specific, as I've read posts from owners with TCL, Sony and Hisense TVs all with Android TV and playback issues.
