  1. WMC Playback Controls Now that we're at it anyway, lets' go and look at the new playback control features as well: Button Swap The FFWD/REWND buttons have been swapped with the skipprev/skipnext buttons. Use the Skip buttons to skip forward/back by the amount you have configured in playback settings. Instant Skip There's no delay when using skip-forward/back buttons. The jump happens instantly PlaybackControls_Skipping.mp4 Frame Stepping Mode When playback is paused, you can use the skip-forward/back buttons to step forward/backward frame-by-frame Slow Motion and Fast-Forward Playback When playback is paused, use the FFWD/REW buttons to playback in slow-motion or up to 10x speed PlaybackControls_!.mp4 Trick-Play Mode While playback is running use the FFWD/REW buttons to initiate trick-play mode (4 speed levels): Then new playhead moves forward or backward across the screen (while showing thumbnails, if available) to quickly reach any position. Hit PLAY to continue playing at the current position. PlaybackControls_2.mp4

  2. Funnily enough, I re-watched Star Wars a New Hope the other day, and wanted to 'slow-mo' the Cantana scene with Han and Greedo shooting, but couldn't do it frame by frame (in the Android TV App) as you show above. So it's great to see so much control being given back to the client. This is also possibly a good case for extra user defined 'Markers' to be stored alongside the main chapters, intro markers etc. We had thought about this when doing Introskip Plugin and discussing the 'hidden markers' with the Core team, but without the accuracy to seek to the 'marker' there was little point - now we can, it's possibly something to consider. I'll add it into the Git conversation maybe.

  3. Hi, a built-in feature like this is planned for future updates. Thanks.

  5. While Emby already has recommendations built in based on previously watched items I find they are not all that helpful. They seem to be based on genre only, for example, because you watched a comedy here are other comedies in your library. I do like how the also directed by/appear in recommendations work though. What would be great is if Emby could incorporate Trakt's recommendations as they are much more sophisticated. Trakt's recommendations are not only based off of what you have previously watched but also what your Trakt friends and other Trakt users have watched. It takes user ratings and trending/popular media into account. Ideally Emby would include full Trakt integration allowing users to rate media after watching, view lists and recommendations, and view upcoming media all from within Emby but for now I think recommendations would be a nice addition. Trakt has the potential to give Emby that community feel and allow users to discover new media, find something to watch, and recommend media to other users. http://docs.trakt.apiary.io/#reference/recommendations

  7. Once 4.8.0.35 is up, you can test using the dedicated buttons for skipping forward and back in the video player. Previously the client would just try to calculate the final position based on the most recent data that it had.

  9. Have a look at IPTVBoss. I highly recommend it. It can work with this API and create m3u and xmltv files.

  11. Nice ! Thank for your answer ! I will wait for this next release. I plan to send different webhook for different libraries ( the information sent wasn't the same between a movie and a serie ) Again, thank you for your reactivity.

  15. Not my post, request or family, for clarity. I am just chiming in to give a request that seemed to be misunderstood a fair crack at the whip. Not expecting it to get much support, but it should be for the right reasons. Maybe the OP is using the term family very loosely, like quite a few do, within their limits, but I doubt the OP is worried about being personally 'ripped off', but rather the content being ripped. It could be way to easy to have someone not maliciously taking large quantities of media, with them unintentionally putting quite a lot of stress on a system that was only expecting to provide content at the rate it could be watched. Although i could be wrong, and the OP makes enough beer tokens from running his own Netflix to care about lost revenue (ah hem - donations) and feel robbed, but it didn't come across like that in the request.

  16. Well if they were different formats then then you'd have to convert at least one first. If you're handy enough, no reasons I can think of.

  18. Same errors on my side when trying to playback a file located on a spinner down disk @Luke, not an urgent issue to solve since eventually the playback does start when waiting long enough or restarting the playback manually when the drive spins but would be nice to look into it. 19. No concerns... just used to manage other applications that, once the certificate has been imported, I can remove it from the filesystem. I Am ok.

  20. Maybe try and update the TV Firmware to the latest. According to the LG thread below - a firmware update has corrected the TLS issues for some users so worth investigating rather than a more risk rooting approach. https://www.lgwebos.com/topic/7866-lg-webos-40-and-below-letsencrypt-root-certificated-expired/page/3/#comments

  21. Yes, this is unfortunately a known issue. Current workarounds: You can manually split the versions to edit their custom ratings individually, then rejoin. If you use nfos, you can also edit the custom ratings for each version in their nfo files.

  22. The issue here is not Emby, it's the LG TV. The fact that you are using a Let's Encrypt certificate is the problem. Some time ago Lets Encrypt root certificates expired and they haven't been updated in the TV, so any connections via https will fail. You will need to try another certificate type such as ZeroSSL that still has a current root certificate in the TV

  23. Yes, even without playing the tracks it will cause issues. You really need to remux to remove unused tracks. The quickest way is to use something like MkvToolnix (if it's an mkv file) and just select the video, audio, subtitle and chapter tracks that your need. It will rewrite the file with only the selected tracks. No conversion required so no loss in quality and it will be as quick as it can write the file to disk.

  26. I think I've found where the problem is. I don't know why some movies have the "Genre" field locked so it can't be changed when updating metadata. If I unlock it, then the plugin works correctly. The problem is removing this lock one by one for each movie. Is there a way to remove it in bulk? Thank you very much.

  27. Yes, container swap or audio remux (Direct Streaming) is light CPU task. https://emby.media/support/articles/DirectPlay-Stream-Transcoding.html Yes, burning-in - especially graphical - subs is a CPU-expensive process, even for modern CPUs, let alone 'pretty old' ones so usage increase you've encountering - I'd assume to be quite expected scenario.

  29. Looked at your pages. My TV falls under 18TV_Premium, so the specs look like they should support the file format and codec. But do the subtitle tracks cause issues even if you aren't playing any of them. I took a look, one video, one audio, 34 subtitle. I guess I could remux it and remove all the subtitle tracks that are in languages I'll never want or need, but seems like a lot of effort, and it had playback issues even when I said no subtitles.

  36. Yep... I use Plex on the TV now and but still use the emby app for my phone. Probably make the switch on all devices soon. I think I've reinstalled it every month on 3 TVs like 30 times now, plus trying to walk my grandfather who is interstate on it. Not worth it anymore. Thanks devs, it's been great, but having to reinstall and reconfigure every fucking time is just too much now.

  38. It's not about validation, but the ability to see the format through Emby client. Adding it to SFN would be really an awesome feature. Another scenario is when my receiver shows Atmos when Emby shows TrueHD. So adding atmos to the SFN will be cool as well.

  39. Ditto, and I'd guess a number of users as well, as it's still the top-upvoted open Feature Request at present time, so it's likely bound to happen (rather) sooner than later - but hat "sooner" has really been stretched quite a lot.
