  1. Hi. There is no limit on users only devices but 50 users on your server is a bit out of the scope of our design as a personal media server for just your immediate family and close friends. If you are distributing content to that many users it is almost certain that you are violating the terms of distribution of the content and that is the situation we are trying to avoid with the device limits. We could charge money for higher limits but this will open our software up to much easier use as an illegal streaming platform. Such use only ends up hurting us because, eventually, one of those is discovered by content owners and then our name is associated with it and we get accused of running illegal pirating sites. The net result would eventually be that we would be put out of business and no one would have Emby. So, we choose to remain designed as a personal media server. You could convince one or two of these friends of yours to install their own server to serve their families and then this would alleviate the number of users and devices you are directly supporting. Thanks.

  2. There's a number of changes, although the release notes just generalize and say library scan improvements. But to be more specific: fewer or faster database queries removal of unnecessary operations adjustment of database indexes to make updates and deletes quicker making the realtime monitor a lot lighter on it's feet and others that i'm probably forgetting right now

  3. No need to set "Both" -- try leaving it as "Image" and just uncheck "Channel Number" from the Show Fields section below That way, you'll get just logo without any text or channel numbers, on a single row.

  4. You gotta be kidding me. Name your folder as your files or name your files as your folder. It ain't rocket science. Nor does it warrant so much whining. If you do not want to conform to naming guidelines, Multi-select>Group versions manually or use Auto-grouping plugin. Options galore. See no reason why Emby should be pampering to whoever comes with their own idea of how and under which conditions a feature should be functioning as it'll become a garbled mess and more likely than not break something else.

  5. If u go for the 4k max I guess u should be fine with everything and the stick is sometime in sale for less then 30 Euro. And if it's outdated in 5 years or so, purchase a new gen for again around 30 euro. The nice thing about those sticks is, u just can replace ur Remote and don't have to handle 2 remotes. As a plus those sticks are gr8 for travvelling, install wireguard on it, take it with u on travels. Can just recommend these little sticks, only bad part about them is the amazon "thing"

  6. Since we can now detect end credits, or manually add them in other cases, it would be nice to see this, rather than an automatic percentage/time remaining, trigger the "next episode" popup and decide whether an episode is resumable or not. Even better if it could expand to movies for the latter point.

  7. I was reading this thread.. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/117901-audio-books-are-not-resuming-from-last-position-played/#comment-1248464 Then it occurred to me that the chapter info of a .m4b could look better. I know it can't scan the file for a image frame like video but maybe it could just use the main audiobook image? It's a bit OCD for sure..

  8. After years of using Kodi with Embyforkodi next gen I'm now using the Emby app for Android (v3.3.01) on my Shield TV for about a week or so. I must say, I love the Horizontal version but there are a few things that looks like a bug or is not working correctly. - When selecting the photo library I only see all folders with my photos but no options like suggestions, labels etc. - There is no option for sorting and there is no text under the photo folders that shows me what is in the folders. In vertical mode these options are all available. I hope these options can also become available in horizontal mode. - It looks like the sort order in the app setting start screen doesn't work like it was set. I have set latest media before resume watching but resume watching is always the first I see. Restarting the app doesn't fix this. Thanks.

  9. Hi all. I have recently been on a kick making custom folder icons for pretty much every program and personal folder across my windows 11 installation that are styled to match the new folder icon included in Win11 which included a few movies I still had sitting around. And while my collection isn't a fraction of the size it used to be, what few I did make came out pretty nice. So I thought if there were anyone out there that would appreciate something like this, and maybe even grow the collection, it'd be you guys! That's why I decided to bundle them up and include the PSD I made so if any members here wanted to add to them and reshare, they'd have the ability to do so. But like I said, there's only a small handful of these that I've created, so probably not of much use to anyone unless someone wants to grow the collection and reshare. Unfortunately I'm not around a whole lot these days so it's unlikely I'd be contributing much beyond this initial batch to get the ball rolling. Files can be downloaded here Anyway, hope someone finds them useful and I'll probably see you guys in another year or two, when I get back around to checking in again. lol (kidding, but only just) Until next we meet. You guys take care, and as always... Enjoy!

  12. My memory might be lacking, but IIRC html tool worked as Rich described/expected, single action applied to multiple items in bulk, which was the original intention why the tool was created in the first place. Though it was considerable time ago when early alphas were tested, I might be mistaken just as well.

  13. Maybe this - /* Move details down */ div.flex-grow.topDetailsMain.flex.flex-direction-column {padding-top: 15em; } it might not be specific enough page-wise though, but worth a try.

  14. The scan always does a quick scan first followed by a second pass for each folder level, so that's sort of already there. Meaning it won't stall other new items in the same folder from showing up. it just might stall their retrieval of internet metadata.

  17. Yes, it's possible to add options for that, but that information is also present in the webhooks body, so you could just add a little code to your receiver to examine it.

  18. There was a limitation 2 years ago, and it was 25 devices. In 2019 it was raised from 15 to 25. See this blog from 2019.

  19. Hi. You are logged in here which is the same as Emby Connect. What email are you not receiving? There is no email after entering the PIN - it just confirms logging into an app.

  21. This link may help. Lists the codec support for most Amazon devices (Sticks, Cubes, etc). https://developer.amazon.com/docs/fire-tv/device-specifications-fire-tv-streaming-media-player.html?v=ftvstick4kmax It looks like the Cubes will still do vanilla DTS-HD passthrough, but not DTS:X is what I assume that is saying.

  25. Well I am one of those with Ceton cards....5 to be exact, only 2 in use at the moment...and my biggest problem is I cannot use LiveTV because I get a double hit on the network...once for emby, once for CetonProxy and next thing you know my network is saturated and it's gigabit. So if they need people to test this out with specific hardware I am one with that specific hardware. LOL

  26. Yes, and for cases where subtitle burn-in can't be avoided there are also other improvements coming: Subtitle burn-in can be done with hw acceleration When hw acceleration is used, It won't be required anymore to transfer every video frame to CPU memory, blend-over the bitmap subtitles and transfer the result back to GPU memory. Without hw acceleration: Currently: all subtitle bitmaps for a specific moment in time are rendered to a full video frame, then that full frame is scaled to match the video frame size and finally, the full subtitle frame is blended over each video frame New: the subtitle bitmaps are scaled individually and are then blended individually onto the video frames (note: subtitle bitmaps are always only of the size of the text they contain, much smaller than the video frames)

  27. hi @SamES Thank you for your comment. In English, the sorting process may ignore some parts. However, how does it work with other languages such as French, Dutch, Spanish, etc.? Users might find it confusing to locate the "File Name" in the list (grid).

  28. Thats what mp3Tag adds, so it'll probably be quite commonly used.

  29. In the first instance, just install the Emby server on your machine: https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001159243-installation And once it is working locally, follow the procedures to make it accessible remotely: https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44002137137-remote-setup You can then point your chosen name in the DNS at your remotely-accessible server. If you want an https connection, you can also do this within Emby: https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001160086-secure-your-server But there are advantages to doing this via a remote proxy - I recommend Caddy, which does all the business of getting and maintaining a certificate for you. There is information in this forum about using several reverse proxies. Once you have gained experience of getting the server to work in your domain this way, then you might be in a position to think about hosting it remotely as a separate project; but you need to decide where the video files themselves will live. 31. Ok so long story short after messaging users to send me their router/model number I was able to conclude the ones being blocked were all using same router and model number. ( one being my father) So i went to his house and had to use a mobile app to look into router ( stupid isp crap) and was able to find a "security shield" on this spectrum router and it was blocking my emby domain. ticked the security shield to off and everything works like it used to. I can def see why people dont like using isp routers. you have little to no control. I use eero myself and dont like the way its only accessible via app but it works until i upgrade again. I think the router may have been blocking it because google is considering it a deceptive site?¿ Anyway thats a whole nother problem i havent been able to get cleared with google, probably easier to get another domain. Can now mark this as solved and hopefully it helps somebody else.

  33. Hi @Luke: 5GHz adapter works like charm, all footage can be perfectly played back without needing for transcode. There is only one issue I have noticed, but it's related to FireTV, and I'll report it in that topic soon. Thank you!

  34. Yes, SRT is a much more simple than ASS. If you watch the Emby Show - Episode 1, you can see a crazy ASS example with animations done with ASS. But back to subtitle extraction: The point is that you don't need to care about this anymore in the future because Emby can convert between all subtitle formats and also provides a number of manipulations of the subtitles text and style. When you pre-extract to SRT, you are losing information unnecessarily. Maybe later you play it on a client with ASS support or you want/must do burn-in, then it will be much better when you hadn't converted it to SRT before.
    1 point
  35. Yes. As mentioned, I don't think so. The new subtitle capabilities are so rich and versatile that there would be zero benefit in having pre-extracted subtitles. Also, in-stream subtitles are generally preferable as there are less synchronization issues with them, especially when doing hardware overlay. AFAIK, the selection goes by language only, not by type. Also, SRT is not a great format for subtitles. The by far best (most capable, most features, most sophisticated) is ASS. ffmpeg uses ASS internally for that reason. So does the OCR filter of course. Once you export to SRT, you'll loose a number of details.

D:\Movies\Movies2\Plex\The Expendables 3 (2014)\The Expendables 3 (2014).BluRay.1080p - Theatrical Edition.mp4 D:\Movies\Movies2\Plex\The Expendables 3 (2014)\The Expendables 3 (2014).BluRay.1080p - Unrated Edition.mp4 This is your folder name: The Expendables 3 (2014) This is your file name: The Expendables 3 (2014).BluRay.1080p - Theatrical Edition.mp4 But you have this in your file name .BluRay.1080p Remove .BluRay.1080p The Expendables 3 (2014) - whatever, and everything after the dash is what you'll see in version dropdown. Does this help you ?

  38. Hi @quorn23 and @Luke@softworkz I can confirm the steps from quorn23 from post fixed my problem. I recommend to everyone to comment out for the installation every other repository which is activated. It has something to do with the driver and I had the wrong one. First i didn't enter my emby premiere key for tests and now see at the end it works perfectly. I have a NVIDIA Quadro P2000 (Dell Version) in a HP DL380 G9 Server and I use ESXI V.7.X on latest Debian as VM with Docker CE and Portainer. Happy weekend after hours spending on this topic I got it working. No stocking of the movies and you can even play it through a openvpn if you have enough UL/DL.

  39. I think the best parameters to generate H265 from a full quality source and the best parameters to minimize the damage from converting a lossy H264 to lossy H265 are probably two different things.

  41. As of 4.9 multiple db connections were added so increasing this value to much could have negative effects on Ram usage. As it could be 5x your value or in some cases from a beta standpoint 20x your value. Will try to update when more info is available. Performace tweaks Database cache size Sets the amount of data that the database will hold in memory at once, per database file. A larger value may help improve Emby Server performance. Requires a server restart to take effect. If you have the available RAM you should set the database cache size to 1.5 to 2 times your library.db size. Navigate to your platform Emby programdata folder and look in the data folder to see its size. You can find your server info on the dashboard three dot menu. App Settings- Database
