@Luke@softworkz Given the issues in the latest Beta caused by plugins - and the fact Plugins are an established integral part of emby (and are gaining traction, especially with the new Dev toolsets) - can I ask if this FR can be considered ? Currently, I have a quick script to just rename the DLL's and restart emby - but if as per the FR there is some sort of selection process or 'safe mode' in emby - then I think that would be a really good feature to help diagnose initial issues. To add to it - a) maybe a command line option as well - ie '- safemode' - and it starts emby without any optional plugins. b) the system tray icon could also have a 'Restart Emby in Safe mode' as well - incase the web browser itself is inaccessible following a Plugin issue. c) having a 'Disable' option for each Plugin itself in 'MyPlugins' (not just 'Settings' and 'Uninstall') would be nice as well. d) API updated to have a 'Disable/Enable a Plugin' option - as currently only 'list or uninstall' appears to exist. Thanks.9 points

Posting from my new macBook!! LOL (VMWare to the rescue!!!) So here is Audirium on iPad simulator. looks lie there are some layout issues on iPad as well as Android that i need to learn how to tackle these and address them. Good news is that i now have the main platforms available so i can test them, and i can really start to move forward now.3 points

Good news it looks like it corrected the rating for many of the movies already Just a few it didn't update which makes it easy for me to manually update. Thank you so much for your help everyone3 points

Hi guys. I was wondering if there could be an option to disable individual plugins as well as an option to disable ALL plugins and reboot the server in a "safe mode", much like the Firefox option to reboot disabling addons. I think this could help trouble shoot and help diagnose. Just a thought. Thank you guys!2 points

NFO's are fine, I write all my metadata to them. But if another app (e.g. Radarr) is also creating/modifying them, there may be a conflict.2 points

Jellyfin is great - if you are a coder and you want to make it "yours" plus put up with the quirks that inevitably come from open source. Plex is great if you are a mindless drone or such a complete luddite you want to push an button and it all works AND you are willing to put up with totally useless new features and a design that is evolving into mobile use. Emby is for watching media. It lets you set it up based on what you want, its simple but complex where it needs to be. Plus even in the months since I became a premium member there has been positive evolution in the design. But that's not what I'm here for, I'm here so I can decide what meta matches my media - that's one of the biggest reasons. That and pick what you need and want. Plus meta for personal files where you can add Grandma, as a actor, add a picture, and video, and a bio, and click to find all the media with her in it, and add tags to sort by whatever, and make it easy to use, which beats the hell out of the other guys.2 points

OK yes, we can look at background support for this in future updates to the app. Thanks.2 points

So, I did play a little with some DSD-files (DSF-WV to be precise) which I'd like to integrate into my music collection, and they get recognized fine (well, they're WV-files). - the web-player does actually get some sound out, but Emby decides to transcode to AAC with 384kbit/s - the android app didn't find a playable stream - but hey, the androidTV-app seems to decode the files on the client device These tests were done with 2.0 files, but there is 5.1 too. So, I'm not sure if this is a bug report or feature request, since I don't think DSD was officially announced as supported, and just came in through the backdoor with wavpacks updates, but I’d love to see that supported properly, which basically means those files should be decoded on the client side to whatever it's audio-device supports as max. Bonus points would be given for more transcoding targets, like flac24/96, flac24/48, flac16/48, for cases when transcoding is needed due to bandwidth reasons or clients not being able to decode DSD. AAC also supports 24bit, so thats an interesting option too, to keep a bit higher quality intact from these sources.1 point

I have thousands of movies in my collection and use a (possibly) unique way of dividing up my movie library. It makes sense to me and keeps my individual libraries from getting too unwieldy. All current and previous year's movies get dumped in "New Releases". Older movies get divided up by the year they were released. "Digital Age" corresponds to the rise of streaming services like Netflix, so 2008 and later. (this may get updated someday) "Video Age" corresponds to the rise and fall of VCRs and Video rentals "Hollywood Renaissance" is the period following the fall of the Hays code "Golden Age" covers the period when the Hays code was in force. "Silver Age" covers the silent film era and the period before the Hays code was put in place "Early Cinema" is all of the weird and wonderful experimental movies before movies really got popular Animation and Documentaries are separated for good measure. I have several other such libraries but didn't create the images. I made my own "PlayLists" image from scratch, but the "Collections" image is a careful crop of a much larger image. The television groups represent how I divvy up my television series. - - - My creations were composited from (AFAIK) Creative Commons or Public Domain clipart or were drawn by me. Images in the ZIP file should all be 1920 x 1080 in medium-quality JPG format. library-image-share.zip1 point

I have this problem also, on both windows server 2012 r2 running as a service and on Unraid server running in Docker. I checked the logs, and nothing at all is added when I try to manually add a movie or episode from the Auto Organize screen I attached a short screen capture of what happens. yes, it is working fine just to be sure: should I run the task "export library to trakt" everytime a friend-user adds its trakt PIN?1 point

I can't say anything about that, I've only been using Emby for a short time.1 point

No need to uninstall, just disable NFO Reader in your library settings and do a Refresh again.1 point
-
Do a Refresh Metadata>Replace All on that item, maybe there wasn't AU rating at the time of initial import and someone like Sean added it at a later point for community benefit.1 point

Grim is right, no one provider will have all movie ratings in AU, but TMDB does have majority (which provider do you have set for priority?) I have spent countless hours contributing to TMDB for titles that did not have AU ratings so that others may benefit. Are you saying none of your movies are pulling down AU ratings? Do you have some examples?1 point
-
Likely because providers don't have it in your preferred system - no providers have ratings for all countries, you'll get what they have, AU if available, some other if not.1 point

I ended up needing to reinstall Rocky on that VM and the /var/lib/emby directory created like it was supposed to the first time. I'm not sure I did anything different.1 point

No problem. Always nice to find a quick answer if you have an issue.1 point

Flushing the cache on the Emby player on the Android TV appears to have fixed the issue.1 point

Hi. Can you try sideloading our standard android app on the same device and see how that compares? https://emby.media/emby-for-android.html Thanks.1 point

I will be more detailed, not that it matters from a problem resolution perspective. Emby Premiere client software interacts with Emby Server to play files natively between them, and it is extremely optimized. Therefore, and this is a big one, you can run Emby Server on an Orange Pi Zero with only 512M of RAM, but you have to play through the Premiere clients. This is mind blowing when you think about it. But unfortunately, through a browser, Emby Server uses ffmpeg, which is a notoriously difficult piece of software, and a black box for most of us. On the same OpiZero, it shows the processor running at over 300%, which probably means that it is overflowing the multiple cores. When the Emby client is used, it doesn't call ffmeg at all. So there you have it folks. After a month of scratching my head, I finally figured it out. Just pay for Emby and use the client software. As I have said, the lifetime subscription is more than worth it. I assume for privacy that an internal network that is not connected to the internet will be anonymous, but I have not yet tried to plug my Premiere code into an offline pi.1 point

Liebe Grüße1 point

Make sure the app supports the three DSD available modes: - DSD converted to PCM. - DoP (DSD over PCM). - DSD native. The "Exclusive USB Audio Access Mode" option for DACs is needed of course for all this to work, which it's already requested here: Thank you.1 point

Yes, I want exactly that as I don't want to watch a movie/series in portrait, does anyone really want that? The only time I would want it to stay in portrait is when a video was taken in portrait mode but this does not apply to any movie/series I know of and this is what Emby is mainly used for I'm tempted to say...1 point

My $0.02 - if you like Kali then pick a stable release of Debian or derived distro for your server. Keep it simple.1 point

SPIO should be implemented as 1 level above FSK-18 because of parental ratings. IMHO it is one thing to allow FSK 18 content, but SPIO is always one step rougher / harder then FSK 18. For example: The Indonesian movie "Headshot" is SPIO, also some episodes of the Spartacus TV series in their uncut versions. There are also cut versions of these episodes, and they got FSK-18. For me the German ratings system should be implemented in Emby like: Level 1 = FSK 0 Level 2 = FSK 6 Level 3 = FSK 12 Level 4 = FSK 16 Level 5 = FSK 18 Level 6 = SPIO/JK Level 7 = unrated (which is also the standard for porn content here in Germany, because they never get a rating in Uncut) Level 8 = banned by authorities (in German "indiziert") I think this would be perfect for parental ratings!1 point
