@LukeBy all means, in the year 2023 with all the awareness for data protection, security and privacy rising (which is a good thing) this feature can not stand like this anymore. Please, please, please address this subject urgently. CHEERS3 points

It is really cool that Emby has the ability to support multiple versions of the same movie. It would be nice to have a setting on the client side to allow the user to set which version should be selected by default. This could be as simple a user-entered string, or it could be a list of detected strings to choose from. It could allow multiple entries and it would choose them in the order entered. On the Kodi side, it would also be nice to get the "Choose the Best Version for Me" option that the Emby app has.2 points

Understandable. But times have changed. Currently, only lack of CoverArt badge indicates SD reses (and it's both an eye poke and breaks consistency). I'd say it's reasonable to expect that users opting for CA overlays would like to show them, and don't want not having an overlay to have any meaning. Therefore hopefully you'll consider adding those sdtypes (actually only three are needed: 576p, 480p and SD for anything below 480p, as Emby lists them in MediaInfo) when the time comes to give some thought to future plugin improvements. And most important one: please put those Res badges first, it's very odd and distracting seeing them stuck between video and audio codecs, can't help but think about it every single time, even though I know they're currently set up like that.2 points

-= PLEASE UP VOTE & PROMOTE THIS REQUEST IF YOU WOULD LIKE THIS FEATURE =- DO THIS BY CLICKING THE "LIKE" BUTTON ON THIS POST REQUEST: Properly pool multiple M3u IPTV sources, so when adding more than one with the exact same M3u emby treats them as one source with however many "Concurrent Streams" you set for each. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/63725-multiple-iptv-tuners-double-channels/?p=636718 https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/59607-duplicate-channels-one-tuner/?p=607031 https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/57420-multiple-identical-m3u-tuners-without-duplicate-channels/?p=560949 Basically once M3u #1 has used all 5 of its tuners, I then need to start using the login info that is within M3u #2... once those 5 tuners are used (now all 10 tuners), then emby issues "no tuners available". This is how emby treats HDhomeruns today, so it can't be to difficult. @@snodrog742 @@manolodf @@robrhedrick @@cayars1 point

I hit "play all" on a collection and it doesn't show the next film in "Next Up" after I quit out of it. This is apparently intended behaviour, and the same applies to playlists. This is absurd. Why even have the "play all" option? Who's sitting down to watch a full collection's worth of films, or a full playlist? I have playlists for The Prisoner for its various episode orders, and there's no way I'm getting through them in one sitting. I was going to make that my next show to watch but if I'm going to have to keep track manually of my progress through the playlist it makes the playlist fairly pointless TBH. There's no reason playlists or collections shouldn't show up in Next Up.1 point

So I've done the boring thing and read through Google's definitions of deceptive sites, recommendations, etc, and I believe I may have figured out the crux of the issue. They think we're all imitating Emby! Well, emby.media, or app.emby.media, but you get my point. There's no concrete evidence of this, but simply looking at the examples, it seems that all our instances share strings, images (logos), and login patterns. As Emby has become an established entity in media streaming, it seems natural for those of lesser moral fibre to imitate its looks and logins in an effort to gain access. @Luke@pir8radioWould it be at all possible to customise the look and feel of the UI, even as a once off test to see if this satisfies the Google god?1 point

I don't use unraid so don't have anything specific to offer. To at least understand what might be going on. - Figure out the actual user:group running the Emby server. It might not be nobody:users. - Figure out the actual location of the AppData/EMBY_DATA (/config in the container). - Then the commands above might work if the true user:group and locations are used. - You can run chown with the numeric uid:gid as an alternative to user:group. Again, this is unraid and though it sounds like their own devs "broke" the update it is usually best to not fight it on the back-end without an understanding of the consequences. My general recommendations for Linux and Docker might be too late for this case. - Take control of uid/gid to run applications. In other words stop using default uid/gid from templates and create a dedicated user:group before installing software and containers. Similar to how the Emby host installation works. - Make sure AppData/EMBY_DATA are on persistent storage (/config in containers) and not in the container image. This preserves the config and data when recreating or upgrading the image. - Configure the AppData and media storage so that the app runtime uid/gid has the access it needs.1 point

Well I found an issue related to that matter. Only happens if you seeking to the end (e.g. from the middle of a movie seek to the end -> progress is wrong). Quite an edge case, not sure if this is the same issue. Will be fixed in next version.1 point
-
Also you can see that transcoding fallbacks to software transcoding. That happens every time when transcoding preventively. Dlna and emby client works with hardware acceleration1 point

New version available 8.1.1: Delta changelog 8.1.0 -> 8.1.1 compatibility with Emby server beta 4.8.0.29 workarounds for .29 performance issues use async http queries (for init and startup sync) Comment This version is the new beta. It's also published on Emby's Kodi beta repo.1 point

I managed to resolve this - my website was running via Cloudflare who now block video streaming on their free plan.1 point

After several weeks of use I can confirm this is fully resolved in the beta series (I'm running 4.8.0.29 currently.)1 point

@luke explicitly cautioned against this over 2 years ago leaving us with no solution since this was first asked comming up on 6 years ago now. Just the same 'yeah, well get there' response over and over again. If a user enables camera uploads on their device (maybe intentionally maybe not), their device will now upload all of their past and future photos to your server, possibly without them being aware of it, and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it except disable that user entirely until they fix the problem themselves while you clean up the mess it's made.1 point

This is my preferred order if you’re going to dig into the plug-in’s code @ebr . Also, please add 1440 & 8k as well as the SD resolutions. Sorry - unfortunately, the only resolutions that are available to us are 720, 1080 & 4K. The rest that don’t work are just my hopeful expectation for a future update (inc the hdr badges). The subtitles need to be in the the same custom folder that the other badges are in (or in the resources folder inside CoverArt’s cache). I separated them out to be tidy, but I didn’t let everyone know that. Once they’re in the correct folder, they should all work - as long as the 3 letter abbreviation is correct, so let me know if they don’t work. I don’t have any videos with subtitles so that’s the limit of my knowledge! I’m also having issues with some aspect ratio badges but I’m pretty sure the ones I included all work for me.1 point

new version available 1.11.15, it should fix the error it may crash the first time you access the season but try again and see if it fixes itself, the first error should clean any out of date cached data.1 point

I pushed Beta 2.2.1.1 to the catalog for compatibility with the latest betas. Beta Emby users, please let me know if you experience any issues.1 point

Thanks for that , seems to have done the trick, just waiting for a restore to finish Cheers1 point

Not positive if that naming scheme has been added in 4.8. But parsing 2019.E01 can be problematic to what is the season/episode.1 point

I greatly appreciate your reply, but have meanwhile found a workaround solution that I am perfectly happy with and which worked like a charm. For potential future readers experiencing this issue: I simply moved the music folder from /home/user/Music to /home/Music. For whatever reason Emby can read everything in the home folder but nothing in the user folder (despite my best efforts to change that).1 point

@Eigeplackterare you using plugin 0.0.1.11 ? In the latest plugin I tried to use the theme colors as much as possible. You contribute a lot to this project by testing the code and identifying what's not working. Sometimes that takes more time than the coding. Vic1 point
-
@JunglejimI just posted 0.0.1.11 and it has all of the backgrounds removed. The background will be what you select in the theme settings. Is this what you had in mind - I like it better also. vic1 point

@JunglejimI can make the background whatever you like. I will put it back the way it was. Vic1 point

Hi, no news at this point but we plan to expand on our book features in future updates. Thanks.1 point

@Lukethank you. I opened the app last night and the issue appeared to have resolved itself. I ran an integrity check on the database as outlined in the article you linked with no errors returned. Going to mark your answer as the solution because there was definitely an issue with the database at some point.1 point

Oh. I currently remote in to my Dad's Emby Server (Nvidia Shield TV Pro with a portable hard drive I upload stuff to) as an Admin user (his account isn't Admin and he isn't tech savvy to say the least). But if you guys could have an option to reboot the Emby Server remotely in the Manage Server Interface (maybe where the power button is to shutdown the server), that would be an awesome addition for me. There have been times where the Emby Server becomes unresponsive/the Emby Clients don't show the Categories on the server anymore (not sure if it's the Nvidia Shield TV Pro causing an issue or not), but when it happens, I have to phone my Dad and walk him through leaving his Emby Client App and opening the Emby Server App and selecting Stop Server and then starting the server again. (I'm using the Emby Server for Android and his client on the Nvidia Shield TV Pro is also the Emby for Android (not Emby for Android TV). Thank you guys for your time and efforts with everything. Emby is a great app that I'm happy to pay for1 point

Thanks Luke & Team This log should include when I ran the scan manually to jump start the automatic scans again from the scheduled scan. I also just noticed something in Logs section and I don't know what it means. I've attached a screenshot. At the bottom of the screenshot, it goes from a hardware detection log with a date of 10/16/2022 to an emby server log with a date of march 16th 2023. But there is no log in between those dates (even though the emby server was working as intended). I think I did go up to my Dad's place and update to the latest stable version at the time (4.7.11.0) on March 16th. But I'm not 100% sure that was the date. I won't post anymore logs unless told to. (and I've downloaded all the logs in the screenshot in case they're revolving and you guys want to see an earlier one). embyserver-63815458771 - March 26 - Manual Scan to Start Scheduled Scan Running Again.txt1 point

You have to admit though, the present tuning speed is still quicker than the time taken to create stuff to fix it and then not implement it.1 point

I don't know of many movies that fall under one genre, so it never made sense to me to organize that way. Metadata will provide views by Genre. But yes you can dump all your files into a folder and Emby will use filename to identify instead of foldername.1 point

If we about debug on windows, no need to manually attach to the server. What i done: - download latest portable emby server - go to project settings, add post-build event like: cmd /C del /F "$(SolutionDir)..\embyserver-win-x64-3.2.70.0\programdata\plugins\$(TargetFileName)" cmd /C copy /Y "$(TargetPath)" "$(SolutionDir)..\embyserver-win-x64-3.2.70.0\programdata\plugins\" - debug tab, Launch executable - select EmbyServer.exe, working dir - emby root folder And with all above i able to debug plugin using F5 and stop directly from IDE.1 point
