I am going to try and make the custom filter recursive - it will take me a few hours to find out if I can do it Vic2 points

I actually found the problem now, when i was looking for which log file to send and doing further troubleshooting. AniDB was set to higher priority for *Episode Metadata* than TVDB. And AniDB has Season 2 as a seperate entry. So when looking for only the episode metadata Emby couldn't fetch the right metadata but found the right TVDB IDs and so on. After adjusting this it has found the right metadata.2 points

Downloading subtitles in the TV app is very annoying, you have move one by one until you go to the language you are looking for and in the TV the switching interface is very slow. wanted to suggest a better way to display the language menu for the TV app, because you use a tv controller and there is no scrolling. I did an example for a better understanding, in the preferred part I put the languages that are set in the server to automatically download. When I want to download subtitles I avoid the TV app, I rather use the phone or the Ipad because unlike the TV app, you can scroll fast and go directly to the language you want.1 point

Hey All, Firstly, excellent work! secondly, I noticed that this has stopped working in Emby 4.6.4.0, I have forked the repo and fixed if anyone is interested. (Have PR out for main repo) https://github.com/ShanePe/Emby.SmartPlaylist.Plugin/ Sorry also, I have made an update, if the playlist has NOT yet been generated, it will generate it, regardless of the playlist schedule trigger. So one no longer need to 'manually' run first to initialize the playlist if it falls outside of playlist generation schedule. (Make sense !?!?!?!) Version 2.4.0.3 Feature Create a copy of a playlist. (Duplicate) Decluttered UI by adding a pop up menu to playlists New Criteria: Added Audio Stream Codec Criteria (Stream: Audio Codec) Added Audio Stream Language Criteria (Stream: Audio Language) Added Audio Stream Display title Criteria (Stream: Audio Display Title) Added Subtitle Stream Language Criteria (Stream: Subtitle Language) Added Video Stream Codec Criteria (Stream: Video Codec) Added Video Stream Display title Criteria (Stream: Video Display Title) Updated Criteria: Parental Rating: Now uses official rating under the hood Resolution Height: Now uses video streams to determine the available video heights rather than the metadata. Resolution Width: Now uses video streams to determine the available video widths rather than the metadata. Added Monitor Mode to shuffle playlist type. Meaning that the playlist will be destroyed and recreated on a schedule, but between scheduled executions, media item changes will be batched and monitored for inclusion/exclusion. (So .... combination of live and shuffle modes but could have a perf hit on larger playlists, experimental) Collapsible sections in the playlist editor that keeps state, for more UI real estate. Added the ability to add notes to a playlist (limited to 256 chars). If there are notes assigned a pop up is displayed when hovering over a playlist (2 second delay). Order all selection lists on criteria with dropdowns alphabetically. ------------------------------------------------------- Releases Here -> (See change logs in this thread .... way down) Plugin for Emby Server 4.8: SmartPlaylist-2.5.0.4810.zip1 point

Guys, The ebook side of Emby/MediaBrowser has been long stalled or rather stagnated. I would like to offer up a couple of suggestions. Many people use calibre as an ebook/comic book tool for scraping data and general management of their collection already. This program is absolutely astonishing in its ability to pull metadata from post calibre scans, as well as draw in metadata from the file source and/or directory structure. http://vaemendis.net/ubooquity/ Its a self contained .jar server/reader combination. And honestly I am very impressed by it's small footprint and wide range of abilities. The other option is COPS , which was written specifically with calibre in mind. It is open source, so making it work with emby I would think would be fairly easy. https://blog.slucas.fr/projects/calibre-opds-php-server/ Ever since the original release of MediaBrowser's bookshelf I have always wanted something that would allow me to 'read' my collection, rather than being basically nothing more than a place-set for images of books I own. I am sure that those who mainly have audiobooks are thrilled with bookshelf , but it's nothing more than an extension of the music library IMHO, not new features. We can have both right? Here I give you two suggestions free of charge.. Just because I love you, and Emby Personally I plan on running the Ubooquity Server along side of Emby from now on, just because of it's massive functionality and tiny footprint. But I sure hope that someone decides -- "yeah, ebook support should be in here too" and do something about it - rather than allow this now very very ancient issue to continue to remain an issue. And so I don't have to have 20 different ports open, some with SSL support - some not, because Emby isn't delivering the 'complete package'. (Please take some of this with humor, I know you have your hands full with improvements/bugs/suggestions/requests)1 point

Hello pals, I'm using short term Emby server to serve my Movie and Music collection and I'm fully satisfied. After installed XMLTV server plugin I can watch and my TVHeadend IPTV received TV programs. Now I've though (just an idea because don't look at server plugins in depth) - if the XMLTV plugin uses ffmpeg or avconv to cast TV channels is it possible to make choose second channel and produce resultant stream from both channels with Picture in Picture. I know with FFMpeg is relatively easily like ffmpeg -i pipInput1.flv -i pipInput2.flv -filter_complex "[1]scale=iw/5:ih/5 [pip]; [0][pip] overlay=main_w-overlay_w-10:main_h-overlay_h-10" -profile:v main -level 3.1 -b:v 440k -ar 44100 -ab 128k -s 720x400 -vcodec h264 -acodec libfaac PIP_output1.mp4 or more simple ffmpeg -i master_video.mp4 -vf "movie=second_video.mp4, scale=800:-1 [inner]; [in][inner] overlay=70:70 [out]" completed.mp4 ffmpeg -i rtsp://serer/mp4:1.mov -i http://serer2/sample-video2.mp4 -filter_complex “[1]scale=iw/4:ih/4 [pip]; [0][pip] overlay=main_w-overlay_w-10:main_h-overlay_h-10″ -ar 44100 -f flv rtmp://localhost:1935/Stream etc more variants. Could be possible to be created such PiP IPTV plugin server side ? Thanks to anyone in advance.1 point

While Emby already has recommendations built in based on previously watched items I find they are not all that helpful. They seem to be based on genre only, for example, because you watched a comedy here are other comedies in your library. I do like how the also directed by/appear in recommendations work though. What would be great is if Emby could incorporate Trakt's recommendations as they are much more sophisticated. Trakt's recommendations are not only based off of what you have previously watched but also what your Trakt friends and other Trakt users have watched. It takes user ratings and trending/popular media into account. Ideally Emby would include full Trakt integration allowing users to rate media after watching, view lists and recommendations, and view upcoming media all from within Emby but for now I think recommendations would be a nice addition. Trakt has the potential to give Emby that community feel and allow users to discover new media, find something to watch, and recommend media to other users. http://docs.trakt.apiary.io/#reference/recommendations1 point

Unless I'm totally missing something, there's no way to add a row to the homescreen that displays the newest releases of movie library(ies). Would be a great, useful addition to latest media to have an option that sorts by release date instead of date added.1 point

Just wondering if windows can go to sleep and still work as a emby server? RIght now i have it set to never sleep hard drives. the screen turns off after 15 mins. Would emby just not work if the hard drive goes to sleep like it won't wake back up when someone try's to use emby software remote or on the network.?1 point

Would be cool to add a feature that prevent to have incomplete recording in library could add a option to not keep content below a certain percentage of time. It happen often that m3u fail and i miss 30 minutes and more of a recording1 point

TheTVDB is the first, which matches Mr. Reaper's link, which has the correct episodes. I wonder how the recordings could get messed up like that. Next time don't take so long to respond!1 point

Rename accordingly, increase episode numbers by 1 from 13b up. https://thetvdb.com/series/hunter/seasons/official/11 point

First of all - good news ! yay ! Hopefully @cayarscan add this into a Linux Specific knowledgebase. But still very odd as CUDA is Nvidia ... maybe mpv is adding some better default here...1 point

Success! I just tested to verify on two different 4K files and I now have buttery smooth playback and lightning quick chapter selection. The last thing I did was select CUDA copy back. Now, I do not know if that would have solved the problem initially, but all of the steps up to this point I do believe were worthwhile. I shall recap what I have done and mark this post as the solution. @rbjtech@GrimReaper@Happy2Play@generiq@Q-DroidThank you for each of your insights and tips. I am sure this will be helpful for anyone has a similar issue as I had: text based subtitles such as SRT reduce your chances of needing transcoding. Video outpu is set to gpu-next Hardware acceleration mode is set to CUDA copy back Optional Path is set to the SMB share mounted path and not an IP address. So I while I will be marking this post as the solution, I honestly want to thank the people above for their input and assistance for solving this problem.1 point

ok - that's good news - it's now direct playing. You should be able to see the file 'open' to the CLIENT IP on the NAS (or whatever is hosting the file) So all that's left - then it's gotta be the emby linux client or the hardware acceleration method. Have you tried them all ? (what options do you have ?) Other than reporting it's playback progress - the emby server is 'out of the equation' now once playback has started - it's no different to mpv - infact it IS mpv with a wrapper .. It can't possibly be bandwidth (not at 6Mbit/sec... )1 point

It's odd that the Emby filter works for everything except Music. I may have to ask help from the Emby team to determine if the problem is in Emby. Before doing that, I am checking my code closely to lower the probability that the problem is in my code. Vic1 point

The ACME specification used for automated certificates requires the use of ports 80 and 443. You can get automated certificates another way, for use with different ports. In Caddy, this can be done using "DNS challenge", as I told you previously. For that you will need to download Caddy compiled with the addition of the caddy-dns/googleclouddns plugin, which can be selected on the Caddy download page. The main documentation for using DNS challenge in Caddy is here: https://caddy.community/t/how-to-use-dns-provider-modules-in-caddy-2/8148 Unless anyone else here is doing this (I am not), then the Caddy forums are the place to get help with it. Alternatively, maybe you could change the ports on your other server and reverse-proxy to it from Caddy; you would only need http (because it's internal) so the other server would not need its own certificate - Caddy would deal with that on its behalf. You'd need the other server and Emby to use different domain names, so that Caddy could separate out the traffic. Paul1 point

Really hoping this functionality comes soon. Its the biggest glaring whole in my media server currently. Thanks for the ongoing development/support guys!1 point

Sounds good the other option I've found works is using Emby on my phone to remote-control Emby on the Apple TV. That seems to allow me to choose part 1/part 2 as appropriate. Thanks for the reply! x1 point

Hi. With the TV app you could uncheck the option to pass DTS audio and then set the Audio option to convert unsupported formats to DD. That should handle this automatically for you.1 point

It is a Hisense U8g https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/hisense/u8g The "stuttering" problem is not only on audio when playing days content. The video does too. I played a 4k movie with both audio types, and recorded a video so you can see how it stutters on DTS and plays perfect with ac3 VID_20230404_062439952.mp41 point

@cayars It does seem Win 11 is defaulting to Public now 'out the box', as I've had to change this to private for all my Win 11 builds. Worth adding to the 'connectivity troubleshooting steps' for sure.1 point

After a power failure, my syno set the time back to the year 2001. Once the date and time have been set correctly, access to the Internet will work again and so will the identification of the films and series. Anyway, thanks for the quick help, Luke. Case closed.1 point

Less frequently. But found out that it has trouble decoding DTS audio. It stutters. So I have to select "playback correction" Ac3 plays fine. So I try to add ac3 content preferably. Sadly, most movies are DTS encoded.1 point

In my case, I have been using TMDB for years to keep track of and rate the movies I watch. I would love to have a plugin that allows me to associate my TMDB account with Emby, so when I watch a movie I could rate it on this platform.1 point

Extra options for to choose. Just rename the ones that you want. Also added hdr icons - but they are NOT supported at this time. ok - so if you have LOCALLY mounted the remote share - and get to via lets say /mount/movies - then it is THIS which you need emby to pass via the 'Optional' setting. I'm not a big Linux user, so I wasn't aware SMB was not directly available - thus trying to use SMB is not going to work - but effective Direct Play, via a MOUNT should work. This is exactly how it works on the Shield (but that does, confusingly, work via the SMB path). Yes user creds should be good - if your local linux os can see the SMB shares, then so should ET - we just need to get emby to pass the correct LOCAL mount point. Try with and without the trailing slash1 point
