  1. Hii In Plex we can now put multiple editions of movie and they are treated as separate movies, for that we need to put {edition-xxxxx} at the end of the video. When can we expect the same feature in the emby? A link to the Plex page regarding the same is given below https://support.plex.tv/articles/multiple-editions/

  2. I hit "play all" on a collection and it doesn't show the next film in "Next Up" after I quit out of it. This is apparently intended behaviour, and the same applies to playlists. This is absurd. Why even have the "play all" option? Who's sitting down to watch a full collection's worth of films, or a full playlist? I have playlists for The Prisoner for its various episode orders, and there's no way I'm getting through them in one sitting. I was going to make that my next show to watch but if I'm going to have to keep track manually of my progress through the playlist it makes the playlist fairly pointless TBH. There's no reason playlists or collections shouldn't show up in Next Up.

  4. Will have to test but it is one person with two roles not two people. I will guess when person externalids are discovered they are merged. As Emby does not do individual characters when they have more than one role. Might get away with it if you have fully locked metadata but technically would be considered two different people with same name.

  5. Nothing wrong with it. Just my quirky personal preferences. Our house is wired for ethernet, so we rarely use wifi (except for a few iOT devices in a separate vlan). As for Location Services, I disable it on all my devices because I think it's invasive, especially for devices IN my home.

  10. @GrimReaperYes, you are absolutely right. I was just wondering because many have complained about such playback issues for quite some time now and I expected it to be resolved by now. I will check on the weekend when I have access to the device and see if I can narrow it down.

  11. Monaco Franzen is listed as a TV show both on TVDB, TMDB and IMDB - how do you expect to identify it as a movie? What kind of movie it is anyway? Summary? All episodes combined into one? Or? https://thetvdb.com/search?query=Monaco franze https://thetvdb.com/series/monaco-franze#general https://www.themoviedb.org/search?query=Monaco Franze https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/41003-monaco-franze-der-ewige-stenz https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0085058/

Ability to support media analysis for not searching when embedded subtitles exist 3. Rules for download based on regex 4. Define specific rules for upgrading existing subtitles 5. Adaptive searching to prevent flooding providers etc.

  17. I know this thread is a bit old, but I came across it while searching for some info on external subtitle support. I'm glad to see that you're open to the idea of adding support for .sup subtitles in the future. It's always great to have developers who are responsive to user feedback and willing to improve their product. [redacted] Anyway, thanks again for considering external subtitle support. It's great to see developers who are willing to listen to their users and make improvements.

  18. Yes - the dvhe.xx part shows the profile dv 5 = Dolby Vision ONLY. Will produce funky colours on any equipment not capable of reading the colour space. Not backwards compatible with HDR10. dv 7 = Dolby Vision + HDR10. Will use DV if available, but will fallback to HDR10 if not. ripped from from UHD Disk media. dv 8 = Dolby Vision + HDR10. Will use DV if available, but will fallback to HDR10 if not. Created by combining a DV5 rip with an HDR10 rip. Not easily no - it can be done (which is what the scene are doing to create DV8's) but unless you have the HDR10 source - then no. Tonemapping for DV5 is also a possibility but I don't think Emby wanna go there as its reverse engineering DV. The best thing to do is simply avoid DV5 content - which is I guess where you are going with this ..

  19. I brought the subject up because of the setting under Transcoding: *Emphasis mine. I got home really late last night, so I will try out another 4K file before looking into remuxing applications. @visproductionI usually get my subtitles from opensubtitles and Addic7ed. I never really had good luck on Subscene. Have they gotten better in the last 5 years?

  20. Yes, filter by Tag=DV5 if using the Plugin. I hope (presume) the core DV implementation will also allow you to filter by HDR Type - in this instance you would search by DV Only. Example of the Tag Filters below from the Plugin - it does all the HDR layers and all the Audio layers too - so you can get a very specific filter if you wish. ie show me all DV5 items with DTS:X audio, for example.

  21. So a couple of options to identify the DV profile in emby. #1 - The MediaInfo plugin (and a lot more beside DV) #2 - The new beta Release (any day/hour now ..) will support DV as well - I believe it will mark as DV+HDR10 if it's DV7 or 8 and just say DV if it's DV5 - but to be confirmed.

  23. It's mainly the DB size and it's cache - but emby is very lean on memory to be fair. You can easily get away with 4Gb of memory, even on Windows - but I'd say the comfortable minimum is 8Gb.

  24. Hi, I was so convinced that "Perfectly organized" was the defualt setting that I did not paid attention to it last time I had to create my music library again I have changed that setting and thing indeed really much improved. Still not perfect but a real improvement and so I am almost good to go. Next mission is to find out why Emby does not behave as I hope/expect when it sends files to Neutron Renderer. But that is probably a problem on Neutro's side. Not Emby and will be a dedicated post in case I want to find out Thanks a lot for your help and support Regards

I get hardware acceleration on Live TV, Recorded TV, and Movies (mine are all mkv format) using the Auto (copy back) setting. I installed the OS separately, then installed the Linux version of Emby.

Usually by artist-musicbrainzartist-id folder. Artist with slashes in name need to be requested per this topic. Whitelist Request for Artists with Slash in Name - Feature Requests - Emby Community

  30. As a non-VIP user you are limited to 200 subs/24 hrs, as VIP that goes to 1000/24h. That's OpenSubtitles limit, not Emby, after which calls just start to be refused without any particular error code, not sure what would you like to request there. Either way, depending on the size of your library, over few runs of Download subtitles Scheduled task you should get all subs: 200 by 200 or 1000 by 1000. It's literal example of "time is money": spend more time obtaining those for free or pay and obtain them faster. Yes, having hash-match enabled will get you either perfectly synced subs - or none. With it disabled, logic is IMDB>Name match with first result returned from provider selected, so it's basically a lottery.

  33. I don’t think i said that but understand you deleted the quote and populated it lol I’m very new to channel development, i still have lots to learn. My plan will be once the feed is first streamed i can capture a jpeg 1,2 seconds into the feed. My other stance is… if left ugly, it would force the user to put something pretty in there. I guess it uses a metadata provider to sneak a few images to populate. Your camera may require a full stream to generate that authentication and hence why it doesn’t happen. I have no idea but just thoughts nipping thru ma wee brain

  35. I'm unsure why we are on the topic of subtitles ? The subtitle's are just muxed into the normal Audio and Video interleave - they are very unlikely to have anything to do with the jerky video if direct playing ? You need to test with more 4K videos - The issue may well be the file you have.

  39. DV is confusing with lots of options, and definitely don't treat this as fully accurate or me as an expert. I really only am somewhat familiar with remuxing a UHD disk, which uses profile 7 already and therefore already supports fallback. It isn't as simple as just adding fallback, if it's DV Profile 5 it cannot support fallback. Someone would need to extract the DV information from a DV file, then apply it to an HDR/SDR version while converting it to DV Profile 7/8. In general I would assume anything labeled DV without explicitly also being labeled as HDR10 is profile 5 and therefore has no fallback. This isn't a perfect solution, I believe files with DV and HDR10+ would only list as supporting DV despite HDR10+ having HDR10 fallback inherently. It's a mess, it'll probably get better over time.

  40. Version 4.3.0 Notes: Remember that Symfonium is 100% user driven, do not forget to make feature requests on the forum if there’s something missing for you. (Do not use Play Store comments for that) Added: Add support for Android application shortcuts. Add menu to easily create pinned application shortcuts for playlists. Add new option to allow ignoring server side transcoding settings for Subsonic servers. Add genre to albums browsing to Android Auto. Add support for incomplete MEDIA_PLAY_FROM_SEARCH queries (Like Pano Scrobbler search feature) Add new Plex provider setting: Favorites as Plex ratings to automatically convert Symfonium favorites to Plex 5 stars. Add only favorite filter to search page. Add advanced settings button to clear playback cache in case of corruption. Add some automatic transcoding for some unsupported media types for compatible Subsonic servers. (As always contact me, if more exotic file formats or not compatible server) Add change language button on Android 13 to help users discover the OS function. Changed: Symfonium now respect by default forced transcoding settings on Subsonic server side. Technical: Media session now expose the art as METADATA_KEY_ALBUM_ART as some external tools do not properly support the generic METADATA_KEY_ART. Improve offline play counts sync with Navidrome. Improve automatic playlist sync for the providers exposing a last changed value allowing to skip syncing unchanged playlists. Attempt to fix now playing layout on strange ratio screen or very large fonts. Please report any issue or side effect for your devices. Adapted to Plex API change that no more allow keeping resume point without enabling the “Store track progress” option on the library. (Note: If you need to share resume point between multiple Symfonium apps you need to enable that option on Plex music libraries) Fixed: Smart playlists should be visible when available offline filter is enabled. Support more invalid values possibly returned by some Subsonic servers. Fix sometimes missing playcount increase when queuing multiple time the same song. Fix missing volume control bar in landscape when the option is enabled. Add more security around playback cache corruption. Removed some wrongly added very incomplete translations that should have been excluded. https://support.symfonium.app/t/version-4-3-0-released/1654

  43. I would very much like to see the feature removed also. Or at least the ability to disable it completely. 1. The camera upload feature is not thought through IMHO. Emby server is meant to host my own content, and not to host content of multiple users - (or am I mistaken here?) Camera upload totally breaks this concept. 2. I find it unacceptable to have a server without the possibility to prevent a user from uploading content. 3. And yes, one request is not more important than another, but seriously, this is a major issue. I would be interested in some devs opinion here, Cheers - Love Emby anyway

  44. Is that link relevant to ATSC 3? I think that was for their cable card support since they don't even have public firmware that supports A3SA encryption yet. I guess from an Emby perspective it doesn't matter in the end. Martin

  47. As of 4.9 multiple db connections were added so increasing this value to much could have negative effects on Ram usage. As it could be 5x your value or in some cases from a beta standpoint 20x your value. Will try to update when more info is available. Performace tweaks Database cache size Sets the amount of data that the database will hold in memory at once, per database file. A larger value may help improve Emby Server performance. Requires a server restart to take effect. If you have the available RAM you should set the database cache size to 1.5 to 2 times your library.db size. Navigate to your platform Emby programdata folder and look in the data folder to see its size. You can find your server info on the dashboard three dot menu. App Settings- Database

  48. I think you overestimate how much work some of these features should take. I mentioned it in earlier in this thread, but for any kind of "sane" software design it should just be a case of adding an "owner" field to the "playlists" table, updating a couple of select sql queries to retrieve only things from the correct owner (or any owner), and exposing it in a couple of places in the UI... It's a couple of hours work at most (However apparently playlists are stored as XML files on disk, and it's apparently too hard to have a database table to keep track of them )
