Is there Voice Control support on any Samsung TVs such as searching for movies or tv shows etc.. i have several Samsungs of various ages and although a couple of them have Bixby voice control, they dont seem to extend to Emby at all. I think i read somewhere that natively they only support Netflix and Amazon Prime. Just curious.1 point

Add a setting which will allow a user to globally hide/show the channel number in the Guide listing1 point

Guess I'm making it official FR: Could we please get parent TV show poster - or at least parent TV show thumb as it is done in Continue Watching Home Screen row - for TV episode playback session in Now Playing Dashboard section, as current implementation with episode thumb is neither informative nor visually appealing. Thanks1 point

I'm writing a script to help map Tuner Channels automatically across several TV Guide Providers (Emby guide and XMLTV - for different countries) using some regular expressions to get more accurate results. To do that I need to extract a full list of Tuner channels, which I have achieved with getLivetvManageChannels, but I can't see how to get the equivalent info for provider channels, in order to get ID required for postLivetvChannelmappings. I assumed it was getLivetvListingprovidersLineups, but judging by the parameters that seems to be for only finding emby guide data and not XMLTV as well, and will presumably provide a list of channel lineups rather than an actual channel lineup... Any hints? ta1 point

hi, just curious. when will Stable 4.8.x plan to be release? been 2 months+ since Stable last updated. any migration plan needed? seems like a huge leap.1 point

Hi, no live TV guide anymore, its just disappeared. Server dashboard says under the Alerts section: Xml TV 1.1.0 installed on MYSERVER 23/02/2023, 19:58:00 I have a feeling the problem 'may' have started from then. To troubleshoot I removed the XML TV Guide data source and readded it again pointing to my local http://xmltv.net/xml_files/Sydney.xml all seems to add ok, and no errors. Can see http://xmltv.net/xml_files/Sydney.xml just fine from my Emby server. My Emby server still says I have a premiere subscription active. My TV tuners are working ok im sure. Can someone help get my guide data back please. Thank you.1 point

Hi Luke, Thx, that was the solution. regards Louis1 point

HI Guys, Can you check out the comment at the top of the page on https://xmltv.net ? We've had some issues with the data which caused the files not to be updated in the last few days and are now trying a new data source. You'll have to remap your channels and NOTE that THE FIRST day of EPG data will be EMPTY - this only happens the first time you map the channels though. If you're having issues specifically with the files on xmltv.net, it is best you post on xmltv.net or on the GitHub discussion forum.1 point

Actually sorry I was wrong. We are not defaulting it to Camera Roll. Android is giving us this as the bucket display name for the image: https://developer.android.com/reference/android/provider/MediaStore.MediaColumns#BUCKET_DISPLAY_NAME1 point

This is your best option. Unless you change the store region and use the store version of the app (which is not updated as often), you don' have any other options. Be aware that changing your region will affect all installed apps, so it's not an ideal solution1 point

Hi, not yet but we are looking into it. Thanks.1 point

This can happen if the end user uses the "Delete Server" function from within an Emby app.1 point

Thanks both of you! I ended up choosing the 13500 with a single 32gb stick of ram (as ddr5 has ecc and dual channel) emby will not be the only thing running on this machine but thatās plenty of horse power anyway for my home usage.1 point

Way behind the times I'm afraid... Intel Gen 13 are not only faster now, but with the iGPU (Quick Sync Video), there is no need for any GPU either. An Intel 13100 or 13500, 16Gb Memory (+) and a NVME drive will be all you need for a long time ... ps - do NOT get the 'F' variants - they do not have the iGPU.1 point
-
The 13500 or even 13100 is all you will ever need for emby - I'd get 32Gb+ of memory (DDR4 or 5 whatever your mobo supports) but if you are on a budget - then 16Gb is still more than ample. VRAM is not an issue for QSV, as it just uses system memory. On my 64Gb RAM, it allocated 32Gb of that to be VRAM .. so it's never an issue for transcoding. No point in getting a K processor unless you plan to overclock it - but do make sure you get one with the iGPU ...1 point

Yes, using both IP blocks was the solution I came up with several months ago. Now, changing subjects... I've noticed that the Emby app for Android has a problem with handling the transition from wifi to cellular. Example. So, at the office I have wifi to the Emby server. I listen via the Android app. All is well while I am within wifi range. But let's say I wish to take a walk outside. So picture an audio file being streamed via wifi as I walk out the door. Then, when I'm outside wifi range and the phone has switched to cellular, as soon as the streaming buffer is exhausted, or the next randomized track in my playlist is reached, the audio will stop playing. At that point I either have to advance to the next track or else hit the PLAY button. At that point the playlist continues. This problem can easily be repeated/recreated. I realize it is a small problem, but I'm surprised that the transition from wifi to cellular is so clunky.1 point

Guess I will have to thank you, for testing it for us Please let us know how its working.1 point

I found the problem! Another application didn't like Emby Server. Was the software ClaimAV anti virus. Now, works good! I can try Emby Server Premium.1 point

Sounds good. I noticed some other HDR 'bugs' as well the other day on certain files. They had HDR colour space (BT2020) but they had no 'HDR text based description' in media Info - they are HDR PQ files - so thus the plugin didn't tag them as HDR. We probably need to just fall back to using the colour space field if the HDR description field is blank or missing. And yea, tagging the other standard Audio tracks would be a great option (AAC, AC3 etc) - as filtering by Tag is far superior to any of the Emby filtering options. Other than that - a rock solid Plugin ! - a must have for AV Enthusiasts imo ..1 point

I agree but if the user is still on release 4.7.11 then the plugin might be of use. However, when the beta hits release stage⦠we can remove this element. But i am interested in doing the ac3 track insert you have spoken about for a while now.1 point

Don't know how to check that via the database but would appear so they are different ParentIds so 1149234 and 1149232 are a mirror of each other 4176 items. But there other ParentIds. I know the one I found in my db has the same ParentId.1 point

I have a Xiaomi 12 Pro. I think its one of the biggest. But there is a Long space to tablets. So i hope that it will work:) If not, i will inform you in this topic. As i said, maybe it would be a solution to disable it under options if Somebody need the sidebar. Thanks for that fast answer.1 point

Shouldn't that be .org (not .com)? AFAIK this still stands: And my 4.7.0.11 with Opensubs plugin 1.0.31.0 is still querying .org (though my installation hasn't been online for abt. 3 weeks).1 point

so in addition to me setting permissions and not being able to view my local folders, i figured out the issue. What i never did was add storage access to jail.. emby software has a help link to older version of freenas, however i was able to find the info here https://www.truenas.com/docs/core/coretutorials/jailspluginsvms/jails/settingupjailstorage/#:~:text=Go to MOUNT POINTS > ACTIONS,if it does not exist. which is for truenas 13. it fixed my access issue.. just make sure to stop the plugin first and then go to "mount points" in the plugin menu for emby to link your pool storage.1 point

The Solution to this was found. I needed to do unbuffered File Transfers to any external drives. I'm using Directory Opus Pro for file copies. Something like XCOPY /J or Robocopy /J should also work. For whatever reason, buffered file transfers stop Emby in its tracks. Please read previous messages in this thread for context. Thanks! -Pete1 point

UHD 770 is an awesome iGPU - even Intel's current top-of-the-line CPU i9-13900KS has it - and with it you really don't need a discreet GPU. That said, both of those (UHD 770 and RTX2060 Super) can take way more than an average consumer could ever need, so you have a lot of headroom there, I reckon the only difference would be visible on your electricity bill. As said above, that 'faster' is completely illusory in this context. There should be no issues with that.1 point

You're talking about stable, I would already be glad if I would get a new beta that fixes the Special folder issue and my thumbnail extraction issue...1 point

+1 for this from me as well. Just turning subs on for each One Piece episode alone is an insane task without a library-wide setting.1 point

To me personally I don't see the need to have upload built into Emby. An admin should always have access to the actual file system regardless if the server is local or remotely hosted. That allows you to choose the backend tool you wish to use. For most people with local servers (majority) the typical OS tools like File Manager are perfect for the job. For remote servers there is a lot of methods to use from a private VPN where you can continue to use file system tools and mapped drives to FTP/SFTP (ftp via VPN), to webdav or SSH and a tool like WinSCP. That's just scratching the surface of possibilities. It really just doesn't make sense to build this into Emby Server when there are many advanced options anyone can already deploy.1 point

With thousands of channels I'd recommend installing xTeVe and running both the m3u and xml files through it and using the results in Emby. It can help you out tremendously to narrow down your channels to only those you really want. You can filter based on many things which is key to reducing your lists. 4.5 Server does not have a"hide" but 4.6 does. But if you can remove these channels before loading into Emby it's going to make loading faster for you.1 point

Been a while since I did a build but at the time Ryzen was the way to go. Not sure if intel has caught up yet or not. I'd recommend a Ryzen 5800 series with a current GPU from nVidia if you plan on doing any transcoding or multi streams. Use an m.2 SSD of 1gB or larger for your boot drive then spinners for data storage. Get matching RAM for your MoBo.0 points
