Seeing how all events get jumbled together in Dashboard Activity section, making no distinction between them and making it hard to sift through once particular event is searched for, I reckon some icons should be presented there in order to differentiate events, particularly: - User Authenticated (with Lock icon denoting SSL) - Playback Started - Playback Stopped Rough mock-up attached.

@ebr i think if you have your preferred metadata settings and country for libraries…then only local ratings are displayed for your chosen region. i agree tho, why doesn’t US have the US prefix for consistency?

This USB installation is really a pain, setting up all the settings again every time and all that. If you seem to be unable to get the app into the store (we hear the same excuses here since at least 2017, everyone else can do it strangely enough), then you could at least provide a wgt file so that you can update with a script via the SDK...

Id like to request the ability to have a library or collection volume leveled both so there arent wild swings in volume between different videos as well as smoothing out the volume changes within a single video. I have quite a few movies/epps that are really quiet compared to the rest of the content and would like to fix this. Most of my users have requested this of me at some point or another.

There's 3 issues I'm currently facing with the Trakt plugin as it is now. The plugin is trying to sync data for users who don't have the plugin set up. The embedded track number, or for episode, the episode number. Non-episodic videos will generally not have that.

Hey fella, not a bad idea actually. I would still ned to get the users info as this is where all the lastplayed info is stored. but you changed my thinking approach to some stumbling blocks that may fix them. And i think i can possibly incorporate this too. my concern is possibly the parental control side… but lets see how it turns out before addressing that.

we're trying this now and it is timing out, but i just got her to open http://domain.com:8096/ in browser and it resolved just ... nevermind, she managed to get herself blacklisted on my network and it was actively rejecting packets from her ip, all other connection tests she was using her 4g not wifi... easy fix, though there's a sizeable dent in my pride thankyou and apologies for your time regardless haha

There really is no good option changing these library options after the fact. Sure you can get nfo files written with Media by Refresh Search for missing but images will not move from \metadata\library with media.

The ignore file will remove the entire folder/content from Emby. But if you do not store metadata/image in media folders yes it will delete all metadata/images from DB and programdata\metadata\library\xx\xxxxxxxxx folder. If metadata/images are not with media moving content around will nuke that metadata/images also.

Hi. I'm not. The fact that the item didn't play properly when you forced it to direct play tells me that the device doesn't actually support it and, therefore, our playback approach is correct. Can you please just bring up the app on that device and then follow the instructions to send a log from the app? Thanks.

Hi. First, if you are customizing metadata, I strongly suggest you turn on the option to save metadata and images alongside the media. Then you can just move entire folders outside of your library in the physical file system or drop a ".ignore" file into the media folder you wish to not be shown.

That might work - thanks All just looking at the SmartPlaylist source in VS - with a view to adding Tag as a sort item but of course you can have multiple tag's, so that's probably why it was never added as it'll get complex real quick ..

SmartPlaylists plugin allows for various sorting methods during creation, don't know is it retained during subsequent content updates?

I've solved the issue that was stopping the connection between Emby server and the web. Somehow the embyserver.exe was ticked in the firewall settings for private networks only. But when I start the pure vpn program, it identifies as a public network. So I have the main "Emby side" of things working. The final two issues I'm working on is (with support from Purevpn) that when the PC reboots, Purevpn, starts and assigns a random ip adress (which Emby then reports as the remote WAN access ip address) but obviously it changes each time. So their tech support is trying to get Purevpn to start and log me into the dedicated ip address. Then it would be a matter of setting a delay of maybe 3 minutes before Emby starts so it picks up that dedicated ip address. (unless there is a way to type in and save that dedicated ip address within Emby) Hopefully the pictures will help. The other options mentioned ZeroTier and TailScale seems like they need installing on the clients, which in my setup includes 6 Roku devices including one at my 80yo Mums house..... It's possible that this post may help other Starlink users.

The user watch history is kept in the emby database and it uses the provider ids as the reference (imdb id, tvdb id etc)- so as long as you have a copy of the .db files in \programdata\data folder) then you can restore a watch history on any file system restoration. Watch history is not removed, just because the media is no longer there.

Hey @quickmic Glad to see version 8 is out for beta. I did however run into a bit of a snag. Movies scan in fine. TV Shows I get 1/4 of the way through them and it kicks out of Kodi. I am still using .21 of the server and on Kodi 20. I will post a kodi.log when I attempt to scan again. Mook Update : Nevermind I got it running. My stupid self forgot to switch my skin to estuary and it was causing issues. So note to everyone everyone should when testing version 8 switch to estuary before scanning in your libraries. It will save u a ton of headaches.

Hi @Luke. I have been avoiding DSM7 because of the effect it would have on all the media servers. Plex and Emby both require some tinkering to get working and honestly I am just too lazy to go through all the permission stuff again when everything is currently working fine. My concern is only that at some point PSM or Emby will end support of DSM 6.

Thanks for the information on the plugin. I've been looking for methods for years. Unsure why there is so much resistance to add EDL support to home media systems. Possibly they are concerned of getting sued. In the mean time, my search came across two solutions, one for online streaming and one for processing your own files. Processing Your Own: Cleanvid - https://github.com/mmguero/cleanvid/ In a nutshell, it uses subtitles (either in the video or srt file) and spits out a new video file (only alters audio so its fast) and subtitle file with profanity removed. It can also output an EDL file if thats all you want. I've used it successfully on about 3 movies so far. Some understanding of install and use of Python is required. I did so on Ubuntu 20.04LTS. Online Streaming: Enjoy - https://www.enjoymoviesyourway.com Similar to VidAngel but they dont have the legal issues and works with Roku. It works with almost all the online services (Netflix, Amazon, Disney+, Peacocktv, HBO Max, YouTube, Hulu). Best part is you can use it for free with 60 sec intermission breaks every 15 mins. Upgrade for $6/month and removes that and adds more functionality. (I'm not affiliated with them and dont have any financial benefit from sharing them, they just made a solution that works for me, so sharing)

PowerShell script that Installs a Let's Encrypt cert using the External domain and Custom certificate path details from Emby. Please make sure port 80 is forwarded to your Emby Server. Set "Advanced - External domain" address in Emby eg. "www.myembyserver.com" . If "Advanced - Custom certificate path" is not in use then a cert is created in the Emby Server directory using the filename "{yourwanaddress}.pfx". It is required to add this cert manually to the "Advanced - Custom certificate path" setting in the Emby control panel. When the skin starts, some data is displayed until a user is online Some data must be entered to connect to the Emby server. Open the options with the Hamburger menu Select the Option page and open the Emby Settings page Enter the Emby IP / Url address under IP Enter the API Key under API Key. (create an API Key in the Emby server under Security) Enter the Admin ID under Admin ID To get the admin ID enter the following URL: Log in to the Emby server and stay online open follow URL seperatly: EmbyIP:Port/emby/emby/sessions?api_key=API_Key&format=json Search in the session the admin name and copy the admin ID Enter the Admin ID under Admin ID in the skin. Thats all. Now the skin are enable to fetch all data.
