Would rather see if no 100% match put in a failed list for manual intervention if more logic is not going to be added for better matching from returned items instead of wrong first item. To me a failed fetch is better than wrong fetch but would need an interface to show these failed items.

The details shared in this thread (many over my head) are fascinating. I just want to tip my hat to @softworkz for the prompt, open, and honest responses for this huge improvement to Emby Live Tv implementation. Too often we get silence, or the default "It's possible for future updates" boilerplate responses that only just annoy me more. Is it that hard to share with the community priorities, or some form of helpful informative response to set expecations? It sounds as if this is mostly all up side without much downside. Likely instantly resolve the frequent support posts complaining about tuner change time taking 5+ seconds, etc. let alone many many more. It is also obvious to me softworkz is proud of what he has developed, and seeing it being underutilized has to be crushing. For that, I am truly sorry and appreciate your efforts on this, and other enhancements you have been a part of recently. So........ What exactly does this mean? Any takers? I want to think that given there hasn't been a beta server release in over a month that TvNext is the holdup, however I know that's far too optimistic.

I have AndroidTV on Shield running in the living room through my AV receiver and it has no problems. My FireTVs(actual TVs) also work just fine. I can tell you with the Fire TVs they are on 2.0.79a instead of 2.0.83g. I see you have an AVR also so that has me believing it is something with it running the AndroidTV client directly through the TV or through the Chromecast to the TV's HDMI that is the issue. Like the processing of audio is messed up. As stated, before I haven't made any changes to my TV audio settings and things were working before. I am willing to be the guinea pig but need the developers to put in the effort to want to fix this. You can see from my other post that I put in the effort and encoded a retail bluray and gave my results. Their reply was trying the standard Android app. I did and then I didn't get any reply back. Is there something more I should do. I will work on getting a sample of a chapter from the retail bluray and do the work that I did before.

Look... I think that in a situation like this regarding the display layout preference, because there can be many preferences and everyone likes something different. And emby should be different from disney+ or netflix where it is a closed software where there is no community and forums to improve the software. And emby does allow it. I think it is appropriate to allow several style approaches in the display layout. Or even let each of us choose how and where everything will be. to create such a tool. That would be awesome. And it will not only affect the web. Android as well. Luke and ebr what do you say?

After a few days of usage, I'm glad to report that there is a significant improvement. Actually the problem is all but gone now. Home page loads in about 3-5 seconds, then the photo pages - instantly. I'd say that the management of the memory must be improved, as there is huge impact of increasing the allocation. Especially the recommendation of 2x the DB size and potentially adding the comparison (DB size/allocation) on the page itself, also removing the warning not to touch the size "These are advanced options and should generally be left at defaults unless you have a reason to change them." I'll now re-enable the Trakt plugin and will see if it is an issue.

Turned off the router, swapped ethernet cables, powered back up and Emby asked for a restart. New server IP changed correctly on restart. All seems well. Thanks again for all of the help!

I'd really like to have 2 Factor Authentication added to the login screen. It's just this (optional) extra layer of security to help secure the server (which, especially if people use camera uploads) contains pretty private data. There are for every type of programming language quite a few libraries available, so implementation on a server shouldn't be too hard to realise

Your folder name doesn't contain "the" in "The Lord of Rings", movies must have exact folder name followed by space-dash-space to be multi-versioned.

Thank you, for checking this. Not every Netflix movie/show with DV8 causes this, it's a bit of a random issue unfortunately. There has to be a solution as the competition plays the HDR layer just fine - didn't test DV layer though as the test was done on my smartphone.

Hi. That is your issue. You have told the TV to only output PCM audio which is usually going to just be stereo. Change that to one of the Auto options.

..and around we go .. how many times has this been raised and never solved. Passing the buck to the API results is not good - if the user is bothering to provide the year and in some cases even the provider id - then emby should use this and further query all the API returned results.

Seems to be a DV8 issue - just been testing a few files with @neik and those cause the same issue. Other DV8 files play perfectly well in DV - so I suspect it's the construction of the files is not being done to specification ... Could be Exo not being as tolerant as other players I guess.

So that means the current beta has this corrected? (nice catch)

It is not A FILE that stutters it's most files so uploading a sample might not help, but I'll try to get some time. Yep, AndroidTV app built into the TV is the problem for me. Oddly, TheClaus had a movie with multiple audio tracks playing the DD track working but for me DD would still stutter, although in my case the first track was TrueHD. I also don't think this is brand specific, as I've read posts from owners with TCL, Sony and Hisense TVs all with Android TV and playback issues.

What happened was you had a filter selected to a tag, and that tag no longer exists. It's something need to look at improving our handling of.

Yea, AH2 has a wall feature too for general browsing. The rows are just for the top line widgets.

Hi. We already display the latest sections by library and you can choose which libraries display there. To control the order, re-arrange the order of your libraries as the latest rows show in that same order. Does that hit everything you are asking for?

Topic says it all. Checking log files can be a pain, if you don‘t rotate all the time, scrolling is cumbersome inside the GUI i.e. on iOS. Browser too, but there you can at least use scroll Bars. Would like to have the option to invert the log so newest entriss on top.

As I pointed out a while ago, most of it is a repeat of previous discussion(s). We have also enumerated the challenges with this. It isn't something we want to just "throw in" in a partial state.

He referring to line items in the log. Currently the log lines are appended to the txt file. I think he wants entries to prepend the last line. So the last entry isn’t on the last line in the log but the first line.

I created an extra user in emby with limited access for remote use My main admin user is not allowed to be used via remote Not sure if there is anything else you can do. I would guess that a "rogue" person would try to port scan you until he figures out you have emby running on a specific port. He would then look for public exploits or try to exploit you on his own. Public exploits would probably get fixed by emby developers very quickly. For everything else I guess you are not "interesting" enough for a hacker ;-)

When in app you cant regulate brightness. You have to completly close the app to controll brightness again and then open the app from start to see the brightness you set

I had the same issue. During playback, my Roku would exit to the home screen roughly every 4 minutes, but only on certain file types. Super annoying/impossible to watch anything like that. I fixed it by using a different power supply. I guess the original power supply has capacitors that are getting weak.

I purchased a new (non D-Link) router and a companion (same manufacturer) mesh network system to replace my "upgraded" D-Link set up; followed the steps as outlined in the iOS app and ... Bob's your uncle. Everything that is capable of being connected to the internet is now connected, and all the devices in my "intranet" talk to each other. Ofttimes we blame the wrong thing for our problems and forget the aphorism KISS. Thanks for your interest, however, and keep up the good work at the Emby end of the equation. this is the key issue here. we have one app that almost everyone on a android tv device is using because side loading is a power user user thing ( see what i did there). but there are an increasing number of situations where it doesnt work. you have to imagine that there are lots of people that try the tv app, find it doesnt work, and just move on to plex or jellyfin rather than coming here to complain. so you're potentially losing customers. then on the other hand, you have a universal app. only power users have access to it and by all accounts it still looks and functions like a bag of spanners although it doesnt have the playback issues that the tv app does. despite the occasional spurt when prompted, development has again almost ground to a halt. its just a really dumb situation to leave yourselves and your users in. the logic of having one app is sound but youve left us and yourselves in this no mans land of currently both apps falling short. if you want to continue with the strategy of one app, despite the current crapness of the universal app, you HAVE to get it in the store asap and go all in on bringing it up to the level of the tv app. you cannot continue to ignore the situation, just redirecting those that complain to manually sideload.

I just upgraded my Mint 20.3 up to Mint 21 Vanessa. I did a backup first and emby appeared to be in /var/lib/emby. Now it appears to be somewhere else. I was hoping to just be able to restore the emby files from the backup, but no such luck. I did some searching of the drive and now there a /var/lib/flatpack/app/media.emby.EmbyServer/ folder that contain more folders such as current and x86_64. Hopefully someone who knows a little more about this than I do can explain the changes or at least point me in the right direction. I do have it up and running. But I've basically had to reconfigure from scratch. Would have been so much easier just to be able to cut and paste from old folder to the new.

A veces simplemente no es posible. de la misma manera que no puedes instalar VLC a todos los dispositivos. La solución a esta incompatibilidad con los subtítulos es la transcodificacion (Para lo cual necesitaras tener un servidor capaz de hacerlo) o agregar unos subtitulos basados en texto que son mas estándar y por tanto fáciles de reproducir en varios clientes. Otra alternativa que tienes es convertir los videos de manera que los subtitulos estén permanentemente quemados al video y usar la opción de multiversiones de manera que tengas una versión pre convertida lista para reproducir. EDIT: Ahora que lo recuerdo creo que hay una opcion avanzada que intenta convertir los subtitulos complejos en subtitulos simples automaticamente, obviamente perderas todo formato, fuentes y colores de subtitulos, convirtiendolos en la practica en subtitulos de texto simple. Si mal no recuerdo era con el plugin de emby diagnostics. Busca esa opcion pero con cuidado porque creo que es posible romper algunas cosas si lo configuras mal.

@dseg30 No easy answer here as all provider list as 6 episodes (TVDB, TMDB, TVMAZE) Only TVMAZE gives you the merges episodes numbers. Queen of the Ring - Episode List | TVmaze In the end you would have to manually curate metadata for 21 episodes version. Or someone would have to add this additional order to TVDB or TMDB but still an issue as Emby still currently does not support Alternate order from TVDB or additional orders on TMDB.
