  1. .37 is up. Allows users to choose between the two media types (Movies/TV Shows) to build the list. Some UI changes to make options more clear to the user. There are a couple little bits that could be updated, like when choosing media type in the engagement task options, it could hide/show the library options.

  2. Yea I only use movies at the moment, admin curated list (I don't use the "User Engagement/Scheduled Tasks" stuff). Personally I'd like to see movies and tvshows split and not merged together. I like the way Netflix does it... Just replace the country (Australia) with Emby.

  3. I was searching to see if this was implemented and this comment encapsulated my idea fairly well. I enjoy being able to control during which hours viewing can occur each day. I would now like to take that to the next level by defining how much time can be spent. Ideally, it should track the time videos are playing (difference between when they start/stop) and not simply the length of the video(s). I wonder if this type of control has been considered.

  5. Hi, you can add whatever data you like to your playlist file, but it is not imported into emby server? Why? Because the playlist references media that is already in your Emby library, therefore this information will already be present on whatever tracks you have. So in other words, rather than add this information to your playlist, I would suggest adding it directly to your audio files instead. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks !

  8. Be able to create playlist based on a certain criteria, like genre and or year, in order to create a dynamic playlist that it refreshes automatically when new content is added. This way you can for example, create a tv comedy playlist from the 90's, or a new sci-fi Movies playlist. Some other criteria for rules could be the rating, watched/unwantched, score, tags, language, audio codec, etc The possibilities could be endless

  9. It would be nice if a user's stream was continuous between devices . Example: If I am listening to music on my phone then I log into the web UI, my stream would move to the web UI. Then if I close the web UI and later in the day I open the app on my phone again, the same stream would continue. Same concept with videos...

  10. Hello Team, an option to disable burning in subtitles systemwide to avoid the high cpu usage of this process would be nice! Eventually do not even show such subs as option if disabled. Greetings!

  11. .38 is ready. The task waits for library scan to complete before running. Top picks ignores anything in the library with the name "Specials".

  12. WMC? Definitely in! Luke / emby dev just took an axe to the blue WMC colour on the LG 1.0.37 update though, leaving just dark theme. WMC was great interface, just MS gave up finishing it off because they sold their IPTV business Media Room, and rights holders wouldn't sell their media to be used in MCML apps because they were miffed people had an easy way of recording tv content and in the UK, got around encrypted guide data for HD services by getting them from a Web download instead of over the air data. If emby apps introduced a WMC theme as a plug in that's worth paying a lifetime subscription again...I think WMC would need a little updating though to show 'latest content'. It was never great at that or 'suggestions'...

  13. Yes, that's right. That's where I got the #EXTALB directive from. It seems to fit the use for the overview information, even if loosely. Beyond that though, there could presumably be Emby specific tags? While they would be ignored by other players, at least the data is then kept together.

  15. It looks like you're copying an ini file for the comskipper app itself to the plugins directory, not the ComSkipper plugin dll.

  16. Yes. That is exactly it. We'll wait. I'm just going figure that out.

  20. to be honest i'm trying to use emby as the catalogue for all my video games. AFAIK you can't actually rip vita games to a single file, and while PS5 and XBOX Series S/X would be .iso, its not really feasible to rip them. i'm creating stub .iso or .disc files each in their own folder. but while i have your attention, could you add the ability to user configure game systems and supported file extensions. it should be quite easy to expose these settings and have them fully user configurable. as there is no metadata or external player interaction anymore the only function for games in emby is as a catalogue. this is my current list of consoles that i'd like to load. as you can see there are quite a few more to add: thanks

  22. I found official guidance for another service (cPanel in a container) that they strongly recommend using privileged containers to avoid issues with services. As such I created a privileged ubuntu container and installed emby using the same steps and was up and running within 30 seconds. Though proxmox recommends using unprivileged containers with U/GID mappings for security, it seems giving emby a privileged container to work in is the smoothest way forward.

  23. Hi Luke, After months of digging and the latest help from Q-Driod, I decidec to switch from "Alpine Linux" to "Ubuntu Server". I run 2 linux nodes. Both are more snappy. Downloads run more smooth, and so far (but we must test some more) Emby stays stable.. The other node (running Sonarr/radarr/lidarr... etc etc ) is more responsive too under workload... (cpus up to 80%). I have a feeling it was Alpine.... (although the node not running Emby never hung. and when I was running Plex on the Emby node, it also did not hang). I let you know in a few days.

  24. Ahh I see, I wasn't certain if changing that setting would apply to existing media or not. I did apply a new naming format for movies, when that happened Emby triggered a library scan on it's own and it said I had no movies (to be expected, I assume) and it scanned my entire library and pulled in metadata, despite me having .nfo files and not changing anything else. Again, I think that is to be expected since the file name changed, so I was anticipating it. As for the OP, if they are still around, I think I may have found a solution thanks to a community member on Reddit so I wanted to share it just in case someone comes along this post. In Radarr, under Media Management check the advanced options and set "Change File Date" from "None" to "In Cinema Date". What this will do is change the date added to the date it's in Cinemas as opposed to the date it's imported into the Library. Then, in Emby under the Library Advanced options, set to 'Use File Creation Date'. This will stop movie upgrades from appearing in Recently Added. Cheers

  28. Just to add that the MediaInfo plugin creates the MKV track titles for you based on a set of options - For example it adds 'Remux' if over a certain bitrate for its resolution. It doesn't currently scan the filename but could do - but to be 100% universal and accurate, it would need to have some sort of known delimiter in the filename to determine this was a 'version' of the file - as many people use the '-' to add all sorts of info to the filename. @Cheesegeezer As an example - the Video (and Audio..) track titles below are auto generated with a combination of MediaInfo and other metadata. Version 'might' be an option if we can find a solid way to gather that info.

  29. Oh its the ini file. Odd because I don't think I did anything different this time than the others. The shouldn't stop the DLL from working. I'll build with the older Emby nuget and see if that works for you. I'm running whatever the latest stable Emby is, I'm not home not to take a look at the number.

  31. Although I never found the root of the problem, with the unraid system updated to 6.11.5, I was able to fix the problem by updating the specified version (which was not possible before, the system would report an error).

  33. Are there any updates on this? This has been happening to me on the Pixel 7 Pro for the last few months. The app has to be completely closed out to fix it. My family has 3 other Pixel 7 Pros between them and the issue exists on all of them. The playback controls are also in the bottom left of the playback instead of the center. There is no brightness controller. Double tap to skip forward 10 seconds doesn't work. It's as if the app for the Pixel 7 Pro has reverted to a previous version. But really it's the brightness issue causing the most headache. Is there any plan to address this?

  34. I think if you put the option for both that would be good because mine would still be all Tv shows. To be Honest I would probably always use movies only because Mine will always have the same tv shows every week for the whole year.

  36. OK, this saga has come to an end. I'm guessing the Emby update caused the permission issue and I broke something further when I updated the drivers. I followed the update instructions linked below with the --no-install-recommends flag since I am running headless. This update seemed to fix everything after a restart. https://docs.nvidia.com/datacenter/tesla/tesla-installation-notes/index.html

  38. It's now working. Ended up giving up on the Emby plugin in the libreElec repository. Installed via docker and working fine, just need to configure it all now! Seems like a job I do evy year or so! Hopefully it will be better supported on docker. If anyone is in the same boat this guide helped me get docker working -

  39. I believe Anime and plugins create issues here as the anidb breaks them up into separate shows while TVDB has them as one series. three different ids so three separate shows. Psycho-Pass - Anime - AniDB Psycho-Pass 2 - Anime - AniDB Psycho-Pass 3 - Anime - AniDB So mixing anime and normal tv can be problematic as to how the different providers are going to handle things.

  41. I run both plex and Emby. I purchased a new win11 machine a few weeks ago as well. The way Emby, and plex, run on windows is a night and day difference to me, specifically around transcoding. I’m waiting for a few more features/kinks to be worked out in Emby before making the full switch but my family actually uses Emby where they complained plex was hard to use. Few (can’t list them all) things I like about Emby: 1) Tagging. This is sooo easy, especially with the bulk editor tool available, and expands access/library customization exponentially. 2) live tv support. Plex is clunky in this area and doesn’t support m3u lists. I plug in my tv provider (YTTV) in channels dvr and use it right in Emby. Recording and all. Family loves the all in one interface. 3) External access. When playing across the wan Emby seems smooth compared to plex constantly buffering. I do have slow upload speeds but Emby seems to handle that better. 4) Developer and community support. Plex has a ton of forums and communities out there but the devs here are on it. Never make you feel dumb for asking a question or reporting an issue and are always providing feedback on feature requests. Plex just doesn’t do this and the communities out there are just snarky and not helpful. 5) Plug-in support. Expands customization and capabilities. Nuff said. Each piece of software provides essentially the same functionality, but each person is different in what they like. I suggest you give Emby an install and try it out for yourself on your new machine. Both services have low impact on resources, unless you are running transcodes through them (after the initial library scan that is).

  42. Yes, this would be useful. The only workaround I've found is to create separate accounts that are restricted to certain libraries, so I have my TV logged into an account with access to only video libraries and I alternate between the video-only and audio-only account on my phone. I have a large audio collection (250,000+ songs) and having a single user with access to both libraries makes things like searching very slow. And while we're on the topic of searching, here's a shameless plug for my search improvements feature request: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/101211-search-improvements-music/ Namely, the ability to search for artist AND title in the same search, like one can do with most other audio streamers (e.g., Subsonic and it's clones, Ampache, Navidrome, etc.) as well as streaming services (e.g., Spotify, Pandora, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, etc.).

  43. Some movies such as Lawrence of Arabia 4K are too big to fit on one disc and thus when ripped create two separate MKV files. Emby supports these multiple part movies, but merging them into one larger file is always recommended for better playback, resuming, etc. 1. Download and install MKVToolnix Click the link below if you don't already have MKVToolNix MKVToolNix Downloads – Matroska tools for Linux/Unix and Windows 2. Open the first part of your movie Start MKVToolnix Drag-n-drop part 1 of your movie to the "File name" box 3. Append part 2 Select and right-click on part 1 in the file name box Select "Append files" and open part 2 3. Start merging files together Click the "Start multiplexing" button

  44. yesterday I was doing the css code and I came across an obstacle, the css code that is placed on the initial screen of the emby administration only applies when emby is opened on the web, I will check now on the theme that also applies on android. But in the meantime I would like to know if more people have the same focus as me to get an improved appearance, a little similar to net flix but with the advantages of emby which in my opinion is a great server.

  46. So I've started working on a full page UI for desktop resolutions >1400px width. My main goal is to reduce the amount of items or information that are hidden below the scroll line so that users don't miss out on content that they haven't scrolled to see. In addition, I would like to leverage the additional artwork items that Emby stores for each media item like the ClearArt, extra Fanart, etc. I've used the cast CSS in the Midnight Campfire thread, so credits to @@VaporTrail for that. I haven't worked on anything except a mockup for the Movie detail page. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to place all the elements, but I wanted to post here in case anyone was inspired or had any feedback. Ideally I'd like to have all the controls on the left side above the poster, but that will lead to a fairly small poster size unless I can figure out a better solution. Still thinking about how to best approach this. I'd like to maintain some consistency between the views for Movies, Series, Seasons and Episodes.

  47. Currently the goal of the conversion feature is to produce a streaming friendly format that can play on a wide range of devices. Since pgs is not widely supported it will either get burned into the output with transcoding, or dropped altogether depending on user subtitle preferences. We plan to add more control over this in future updates. Thanks.
