I have found that many movies return 'no subtitle found' when searching because of the existence of spaces, dashes, semi-colons, etc. in the movie name. The actual movie file name must then be played with to try to find the proper subtitles, which then messes with the other files and the database itself. A simple solution would be a new textbox included on the subtitle search page with the normal movie name info defaulted in, but then could be edited to aid in finding a subtitle if the normal name returned no results. This should be a simple fix, but would greatly add to the ease of use for retrieving subtitle files.1 point

I just wanted to say thanks. While I do say thanks every time I need help I did want to highlight the fact that one of the main differences between Emby and Plex is support. You guys respond quickly, helpfully, politely even when we might be being dicks and the answer is obvious. You never show frustration client facing and having done accounting software support for 10 years I know first hand what we can be like and sometimes the appreciation is never shown. So thank you for being awesome in your dedication to supporting your users. Happy New Year all and stay safe out there tonight.1 point

Taadaa ! The heart icon was checked .. cleared it ... movies appeared. Thank you. Now I will go off and feel like an idiot ... LoL!!!1 point

Do you have any filters enabled (row of icons along mid-right screen edge)?1 point

Don't use native mode. This is for edge cases and just causes troubles if you are not an expert in Lan/Network infrastructure.1 point

You can't avoid initial scan. However, you can disable all scrapers and/or cut internet connection altogether while initial import, which will significantly increase the speed of that initial scan as only local files (NFOs, artwork) will be read. No on both accounts. You might wanna look in the tools Movies/TV show settings for NFO template Type as there is Emby-type as NFO connector, but it will work on default Kodi-type settings just as well.1 point

There is no version of Emby server that runs on iOS. May I ask, if you have no Emby server, what content are you expecting to view? Paul1 point

Search for @chef PosterApp, i think in tools and utilities section.1 point

There are no stupid ideas The plugin would need to monitor or at least figure out the time parameters for everything being played. That's a bit above and beyond what this plugin is for. But it is open source if someone wants it bad enough.1 point

I’m not sure at the moment, user customisation will come towards the end of the project Yes i am planning on customisation. Mainly Colors and possibly styles, however would require the user to have some XAML knowledge to implement. other customisation will be which view type for each library and display. I haven’t even started on finessing the look, but it’s my plan all along If you have used MB(emby) in WMC then this is what im going for. Yup its built in NET MAUI, which is the new Xamarin forms IDE and is compatible with iOS, MacOS, Android, Android TV, Windows desktop and Tizen(Samsung). Thanks for your support, appreciate it.1 point

Thanks for the reply! I remember password. I just were not able to admin the server. And I forgot about other admin user Anyway, I already found Emby's config xmls and restore admin for user account. Sorry for disturbing...1 point
-
As I understood OP, that is not the issue as their user can access server, just without admin rights. @Crimean do you have any other admin users as there should always be at least one admin account, Emby should not allow you to disable all admins?1 point

I may try editing the files in the short term to just remove the audio file we arent interested in. I understand issues taking time to be fixed. You're aware of it and have it handled. All I can ask for.1 point

The file name must match the video file name To my knowledge subfolder "Subs" is not supported. Emby Subtitles : @cayarswe many need examples specific to TV but in the end I believe the same rules apply (subs next to media with same name).1 point
-
Agree. I think there might be plans to add air date as a sort option for playlists, but it's not available yet. A few sort options were recently added, but not air date.1 point

Don't know if \subs subfolder is even supported for TV shows (it is for Movies in its own folders), but even if it were I reckon subs name would have to match episode filename, it wouldn't work with them named as they are. Or just rename & move them 2 levels up.1 point

Hey Cheese. Just a word of advice - take it or leave it - but centered paragraphs of text can be quite challenging to read as your eye has to "hunt" for the beginning of the next line.1 point

Guess CPUs will follow suit soon enough: Intel Meteor Lake Confirmed To Offer AV1 Encoding & Decoding Support1 point

@Luke It's a very big problem with this last update. All content with HEVC/H265 (HDR or not) is transcoded if the audio codec is not supported by the LG hardware. And, on LG, the DTS, DTSMA, DTS-HD and others DTS codecs are not played by LG. Before your update, the content was played with only the audio in transcoding mode. The video was directly play by the LG Hardware. Now, all content, Video+audio are transcoded by the Emby Server. And, as i didn't have any GPU on the server for the moment, the decoding is made by the CPU. The capacity of this CPU is not enougt to permit a good playing (~15 FPS max). So, with the new update, about 50% of my 4K movies are not playable on LG TV. And for me, it's a very big problem because it's my standard since i'm using Emby, i bought a LG TV for that ! Please, can you propose a urgent update on the server side to force the video to be play directly by the LG hardware ? I know than LG did not validate any update before a long time. Thanks,1 point

Is there a way to roll back to previous version of the trakt plugin to see if that changes anything? EDIT - Also not sure if I mentioned, but they get added when the real time monitor runs. So as soon as I add a new episode, they get added.1 point
-
Yes, just before trakt went down I had removed the plugin and reinstalled it but couldn't test. Now that everything is back online with them, it is still happening.1 point

Been working on a cool feature. Added in a custom api function to allow users to create their own RAL lists to the home screen. This will let the user chose what they want for every library to be shown. Home screen with size menu implemented. expand the menu and then choose the Custom Library option then play with the options most calls will require a userId and an apiKey, the json option allow for the couple of scenarios where the Json return isn't wrapped in an Items: array Tested without json on return an empty array Test Ran with Json turned on - Returns my custom api call to get top rated items.1 point

I bought a key to Emby a handful of years ago and I prefer to use it by casting to MPC. The last update seems to of killed MPC Remote, as on MPC Remotes end, everything looks good/connected/normal but it's no longer an option when I click the cast button; it's just empty with no cast options now... And so, I scoured the internet looking for a solution to the above problem but mostly just encountered newer posts for this (EmbyExternalPlayerLauncher) than there was for MPC Remote. No big deal, they basically do the same thing and from what I can read, when working, EEPL does it better. Anywho, using this program, if I use the second newest version (the non API version?) then it gives me an authentication error and doesn't connect to my server. If I use the newest version with the API, it connects to the server just fine but when it comes to TV episodes, no matter what episode I try to play or where I begin the act of playing the episode, it always plays episode S01E01 regardless of what Season\Episode I'm trying to launch. I'm not a fan of Emby Theater. I have it installed and I try it every now and again over the years but it's always been pretty buggy and unreliable for me. Meanwhile, watching content on a web browser means everything is going to need transcoding and that'll require resources just to let me watch the content in reduced quality compared to native...1 point
