I mentioned it in another thread, but thought I'd put it here since this looks like a new section--just for posterity. Would like to have a bulk meta data editor function. For example, if I have 750 videos whose producing studio is the same, I want to select those videos and apply the name of the studio to those videos. Similarly, if there is a custom tag I want to apply to a subset of those movies, I want to be able to select them in bulk and apply the tag to those videos (instead of selecting them one by one).1 point

Hi there I am missing a sort criteria "country" in the movie database. There are several selection filelds, but none being the country. As this information is in the imdb database, it would be great to have Emby sort the movies according per country selected. If this feature does not yet exist (checked Android and Windows player), I would suggest to geht that selectable field as a sort criteria in a later release. If this feature is well hidden, kindly enlighten me... :-) Cheers, Lati1 point

But that is normal top to bottom sorting in Horizontal mode. Every row view is that way as you cannot have right to left per row.1 point

I think it's only in v.7: Dynamics nodes, Folder. Seems to be it!1 point

I just ran the emby android client for the first time on my Pixel 7 Pro, and I also experienced the same issues. I was not using any beta, just the normal client and the Mac OS server. I did confirm that accessing the Emby server through the web browser worked fine. I'll try changing the resolution as swhiting did and see if that helps.1 point

Apologies on such a late response, I haven't been on this forum for a while. I've fixed the issue, it just required some adjusting of permissions. Thank you for your assistance though.1 point

I just fixed all my plugins. I removed the JSON packages from this and the others that don't require it. Give it a shot now 1.0.0.7 should show up and install for you. let me know how you get on. Cheers1 point

Ok, I've tried to create some content by cropping backdrops.. That does not work out too well. You have to get specific about where you crop from. Not a good idea. I think banners are the go, they already exist for the most part and look really good. Maybe upscale to some degree but I think some of the newer banner images will look great. 1000x185 (FanArt)..1 point

Hi @Cheesegeezer, the plugin updated to 1.0.0.6 on my Intel NUC and trawled through my library for 3 hours converting everything! Preliminary tests indicates that all is well - so a huge thank you from me and my Samsung TV! I am moving over to a Synology NAS and I went install the plugin on there but it still appears to be at 1.0.0.0 - presumably this just means a build and deploy needs doing for a Linux or Sinology channel? Thanks again!1 point

Not sure if a lot of users know this, but Emby is really good at keeping its appdata folder size down as long as you are using the options to save artwork, subtitles and video preview thumbnails in your local media folders. This might not seem like a big deal for some, but with large libraries, the size the appdata folder grows to without these options is massive. For various reasons I run paid lifetime versions of both Emby, Plex and Jellyfin (free) on my Unraid server. I was doing some housekeeping today and made note of the appdata folder sizes: /mnt/cache_appdata/appdata/emby - 18.8 GB /mnt/cahce_appdata/appdata/jellyfin - 31.6 GB /mnt/cache_appdata/appdata/plex - 630.2 GB Emby/JF are both well contained, with Emby having the size edge. Plex is a complete pig. I run an Unraid plugin that automatically shuts down running dockers and backs them up nightly, just in case an update crashes the docker, or if a drive fails, or gremlins or whatever. I can't do this with Plex, shutting it down and backing it up nightly would mean it would almost never be running with the time it takes with the size and hundreds of thousands of files/folders, so it gets excluded from the backup process. All three of these programs have their pros/cons, but this is one area that I really do appreciate the work the Emby devs put into giving us options to keep the appdata folder lean.1 point

I agree. This is one of the main reason why I use Emby. Plex has got better though but Emby is well polished when it comes to this1 point

The developer of the plugin just asked you for details on your configuration. I suggest screenshots.1 point

Can you fallback on the thumbnail image if its available before excluding something?1 point

Hi, but that's how Emby Connect connects, right? There's no magic involved in Emby Connect. It does the same thing as if you enter the address manually.1 point

Try the channels I sent you with the guide data as well and let me know if it plays fine for you, please do not post that list in main forum thanks.1 point

I updated system.text.json in the plugin and maybe emby hasn’t updated theirs. I will revert it to same version in emby server folder1 point

Just FYI. Now we'll try to get it updated to 4.7.10. Thanks everyone.1 point

My suggestion, is have a test server available. My primary server is on a Synology NAS box. But I installed a test server on my software development box, where I can install and test plugins without risking any problems on my actualy emby server1 point

You are essentially correct. You can add strm files in existing library or create a separate library. Emby will present them the same as locally stored items. It's pretty neat.1 point
