Hi, I’d love that audio and subtitles choice would be saved per show, according to what you select on the last episode you watched. The main audio/subtitles parameters is a good point but there are many cases it is not enough and you need to adjust audio and subtitles at the beginning of every episodes. For example i like to watch Casa de Pale in Spanish with french subtitles, The Big Bang Theory in English with french subtitles, French TV shows in french without subtitles, ....1 point

Starting from today, a new metadata plugin is available in the catalog: TV Maze Metadata Provider This is a highly efficient metadata provider for TV series which is safe to add as it has very low impact on library scanning performance. Features: A single API request per series provides all data: series, season, episode, seriesimage, seasonimage, episodeimage and extra images (banner, logo, backdrop) New 2-stage caching mechanism Single JSON file per series/person In-Memory Cache with auto-expiration Failed lookup caching (with auto-expiration) Uses TvMaze update checking mechanism Works by timestamp comparison Cached files do not expire by fixed interval Added episode matching by name and air date Metadata Providers TvMazeSeriesProvider TvMazeEpisodeProvider TvMazeSeasonProvider TvMazePersonProvider Image Providers TvMazeSeriesImageProvider TvMazeEpisodeImageProvider TvMazeSeasonImageProvider TvMazePersonImageProvider Limitations Provides metadata in English language only (but it is able to identify series and episodes by original title) Updates Version 4.8.0.20 (March 11, 2023) Now also provides crew information (people) for series Provides guest-cast and guest-crew information (people) for episodes1 point

One of my users just reported this issue to me and thought i'd better post something here after confirming it was happening. User was adding the tv show '1883' to their favourites and for some reason kept getting the movie 'Garage Sale Mystery: The Novel Murders' added as well, removing one would remove the other so she sent me a text advising what was happening and upon checking this is what i found; The tvdbid for 1883 and the tmdbid for Garage Sale Mystery: The Novel Murders are the same '396390', if i remove the id from one it vanishes from favourites the other stays and vice versa. Why are these two different fields colliding?? Is there are a rather nasty conflict going on somewhere? i do not see why these two fields are getting mixed up but i have had to remove the tmdbid from Garage Mysteries and lock the fields to temporarily fix it.1 point

Not sure if this should go here or in Feature Requests but that looks more like server request stuff. Would it be possible to get an on screen clock added to the Apple TV emby client? Thanks1 point

tvshow. nfo from original folder: tvshow.nfo From TopPicksfolder: tvshow.nfo Epsiode info drom original folder: S01E01 - Rosie the Robot.nfo From Topipicks folder (season 1): The Jetsons - 1x01 - Rosie the Robot.nfo but as already stated it also stuff like this: The Jetsons - 1x01 - Elroy Meets Orbitty.nfo As said, it creates those for every episode when one does not have season folders in the original place, meaning you have all episodes as dupilcates in every season folder. and logfiles:D embyserver (2).txt1 point

I have a similar issue with my Pixel 7 Pro (Android 13). Every time I play a video through the app, I get the weird discolored look. The only solutions I have found so far are either setting the In-App settings for video playback to a lower quality which fixes the color issue but increases buffering since it now needs to be transcoded further, or accessing the videos via a web browser. Please fix this.1 point

I had no idea these things would be related. Thanks for the feedback.1 point

Auto-stretch for 4:3 content is highly needed. Almost all external players have this option.1 point

I know this is an old post, but I recently had this happen. I did exactly what cayars said, and it fixed the library. This was after I tried rescanning, removing & readding, and moving files out of the root folder and then back in. Once I created a new folder, put the movies in there, and pointed emby to it, everything was suddenly fine again.1 point

Hi @VicMoore, I can't seem to get the bulk edit for tags working with the latest version. I did a bunch of movies and tvshows a few versions back but no luck with 2.0b.1 point

Hi, there will be a light gray option in the next update to the Emby LG app. Thanks.1 point

Good idea. I think I'll do just that. If they're gonna have ridiculous sideloading policies, they need to work faster on approving app updates.1 point

***FIXED*** So I noticed the Drive Letter is different. Windows must've assigned it from H to G at some point, most likely during a period of not using it as much and having it unplugged all the time. I edited the library & added the new location G: & removed H: & now the Libraries are showing box art & playing just fine now.1 point

We need a bit of a testing phase to make sure the data is correct and people don't get nonsense in their libraries (like with the fuzzy person search that @mickle026 had reported above. In case I haven't mentioned - you can use the new DataExplorer plugin to compare the metadata results from different providers:1 point

Cosigning. if the OSD is showing, then left and right skip works, but if the video is playing and the OSD is not displayed, left and right do nothing. The older way was better. Left and Right always skip/rew if video is playing.1 point

Hi, I did some tests and removing the tv show name from the season folders did the trick, no needs even to put the tvdbid to the TV show folder. Thanks again,m!1 point

Scenario: You have a TV show with multiple episodes, and all of them contain audio track and subtitle in two different languages. When you watch the first episode, you select an audio track and subtitle which were not the ones Emby had selected initially, by default. Then, when the first episode is over, and the second one starts, Emby resets the language to its default selection instead of preserving the selections from the previous episode. So, the user has to stop playback and reconfigure the language for every episode. Request: Emby should try to preserve the audio track and subtitle selected from one episode to another, assuming the tracks/languages are consistently labeled in all video files.1 point

Currently is it so, that when I set up view times for my kids I've to delete them all during vacancy and have to set them by hand again during school time. I think it would be nice, if could activate or deactivate the plan I made.1 point

I have upgrade emby to 4.7.10.0 version manually by a post in forum. just download a proper version, shutdown emby server, install emby on synology app center manually, it auto started after installation. thank you, Luke!1 point

And I just want to point out again that the device limits are not designed for us to make more money. Their primary purpose is to make it much harder for someone to use our platform for an illegal streaming service.1 point

On Windows you can often find an offending folder/file by just dragging a whole folder to another location. It's not uncommon to get an error doing this. I usually shut Emby down first so that it doesn't start going crazy doing directory scans. I've done this a few time remotely finding issues like this. So if you had c:\media\movies you could drag the movies folder to c:\movies. Once it moves everything if you didn't get an error drag it back. Hard to believe but this work a lot. The other method is to split a library. For example create a movie2 library and start to move media from movies to movies2 while testing scanning of both libraries to see which has the issue and using process of elimination to find the fault. If you do find a problem file, save it and let us know. Devs could use this to improve scanning by being able to handle the situation causing the problem and allow scanning to continue vs stopping.1 point

We like to binge watch old TV series, like M*A*S*H or Babylon 5. so we'll set up a playlist with all the episodes. It would be convenient to have each episode disappear from the list as we watch them. Please consider adding a "Remove After Played" option for playlists, with the default being "off" of course.1 point

So what I'm saying is what we need is just an easier way to switch users - not a whole new way of creating and managing users and logging on.1 point

@@Luke another way this could be done and add additional functionality would be to have a group login that has logins associated with it. Then on each device you login with the group username/password and would get the list of accounts associated with that group account to choose from. This would expand functionality because now I could have one group for my home as I have now, but could also create a group for my X-Wife's house with her login and my two kids and I could also create a group for the brother-in law (and his family with accounts) or for a close friend (and his family). This way each "home" could have their own set of "local accounts" that can only be used for fast switching and we wouldn't be limited to just one set of quick change logins. This would also solve part of the security issue the op is having as well. Carlo1 point
