  2. May have to test but I can see how Automatic grouping could be an issue with channels as it groups items with the same providerids. But don't know the exeptions as I don't believe it affects trailers.

  3. @dougw03 It looks like you can specify the actual no_media marker value in sabnzbd. Settings -> Special -> Values -> no_media marker(). Set that value to '.ignore' which is the Emby version of 'nomedia'

  4. ok - i started the server and my guide refresh task runs automatically. once it completed i ran the update top picks task. i see the virtual items where you indicate on disk. i see them on the home screen and in the top picks library. but clicking on any of the thumbnails just results in a black screen and clicking play from the thumbnail just results in spinning circle. i tried to play top gun maverick - hopefully you can see that in the log. one other bit of info that may be relevant - each of my top picks has both a 4K and 1080p version. they are in separate folders on disk but in the same library and grouped by the auto movie version collections plugin log attached embyserver(11).txt

  6. I decided for the Nvidia Shield pro and got it yesterday. It absolutely outperforms the 4K Stick. While the 4K Sticks plays my Home Videos H.265 8 Bit (Main) 4K 60 fps up to a Bitrate of 75mbit/s (Level 153 = Level 5.1) and starts to lag as soon as the Bitrate is higher than 75 mbit ( 85 mbit; Level 156=Level 5.2) because they need to be transcoded, Nvidia Shield plays also 100 Mbit without any lag in direct play without transcoding (level 186 = level 6.2). I did not try higher Mbit rates yet. Fire Stick 4K does not play H265 10bit (main 10) 4K 60fps files with 35 Mbit/s (Level 156=Level 5.2) without lags (need transcoding), while Shield TV pro has no problem at all with these files. Also here I did not test higher bitrates. None of these files could be played by the old Fire Stick 2nd Generation (non 4K) with was substituted by the Nvidia Shield pro. It hat an illuminated remote control which works absolutely intuitive! seems I found my new favorite device! I am even considering now to buy a second one to substitute the 4K Stick on my main TV. 9. So. It works with this method of sideloading from windows. 1. Download ADB from here (windows, mac, etc) 2. Download Emby APK from here (version 2.0.83g Registered) 3. After you downloaded those file, extract archive platform-tools_r33.0.3-windows.zip 4. In extracted folder copy the apk file, near adb.exe ... 5. Prepare you Google TV chromecast 4k. Enter on settings/system/about/ and click on android tv os build until you enter the developer mode 6. Enable USB debug In windows (11) on the extracted folder with all the files (adb.exe, .apk file) right click (anywhere in the folder) and click open in terminal. From the terminal window write like this ./adb connect YOURDEVICEIP:5555 (settings/network/YOURCONNECTION and you can see the ip). Must be in the same network your pc and chromecast. Does NOT matter if the pc is on cable or wireless. SAME network. After this confirm on your screen (google tv) check the box with trust and click OK. The last command will be ./adb install app-google-release.apk After this will get a message with ... successful. And done. You have sideloaded the last emby version, and everything works like a charm. Have a nice day! Enjoy Emby. P.S. NO NEED to install any aditional software, like file to tv, etc. It`s trusty method, no harmful.

  10. Welcome to Top Picks Top Picks will create a custom movie library with ranked items to share with your user base. Enabling settings in the top pick configuration will allow you to create a library based on your user engagement, and also customize what's being shown in the library. Note: Larger movie libraries will have the best chance at generating user engagement top pick items. Smaller libraries may only generate a couple top picks automatically. Critic rating, and community rating do play a part in choosing top pick items, along with User Likes/Favorited Items, and also Watched States. Creating, and editing the Top Picks List: After enabling, and running the scheduled task for user engagement (which will populate an initial list, but is also completely optional), you can also customize the library by adding movies of your choosing, and add-to/edit the top picks list to a maximum number of 9 items. It is important to note that users of the Top Picks library should not hide watched content from their home screen. This will ensure that all the content added to Top Picks is shown in the home screen layout. Pinning Items to the list: These items remain during the engagement rotation. This means that only auto generated items will be replaced weekly. Note: List item rotation will only happen when items are available in the library which meet the engagement criteria. This may lead to some manual up keep of the list. (In the image above, only the 2nd, and 9th item are allow to change, because they are not pinned to the list. However, the item changes will be based on the engagement results, and may not change based on the current state of the library and user engagement stats.) The more your users engage with the library, the more dynamic top picks will create lists. Favor custom thumb images over primary images: Favor custom primary images: Mobile: Android Enhanced Home Screen Layout Entering the Top Picks library you should choose to "Sort by Date Added" to have the images order themselves. There is a week long trial to test it out, after you install it from the catalog. If there are any questions please post them here in this thread. Please be kind, a lot of time, and work went into this. I'm open to further discussions regarding things that might make Top Picks better in the future as well. - chef Version 1.0.0.20 theme media is now added if it exists for a library item. Version 1.0.0.19 Current NFO files that exist in the library are now successfully used and properly altered for top pick items. This stops Emby from having to try and identify items which are already properly identified in the library. The ability to target a specific library for top pick creation. Version 1.0.0.18 Library items now have the option to show the top pick tag or not. Top picks drawing classes now attempt to draw custom thumb/primary images in memory without saving assets until complete. Version 1.0.0.17 Library is created with servers language for metadata retrieval. Top Picks will now search providers for missing resources to draw custom images for the library

  11. Having just lost all of my previous Introskip data from the old Plugin due to a corrupt db, needing me to create a new TV library (subsequently needing hours/days worth of re-detection using the Core Introskip) - would it be possible to include the Introskip 'hidden' chapter markers in the standard metadata/nfo emby processes ? ie 1. Save the Introskip MarkerType=IntroStart,EndEnd and CreditStart in the episode NFO file. 2. On a episode/show/library import - just read the NFO as you do now, and if the data is present, then use that in the Chapter Table instead of re-detecting it. 3. Ideally allow us to see/edit that data in the standard metadata editor for that episode, but the main concern is the ability to recreate it without the need for the emby db/chapter table / ItemId dependency. Thanks.

  21. @STR8 Will guess that is why you have all of those Load Exceptions as you have plugins that are not compatible with your server version.

  22. probably a server version that is the issue. you are still on 4.6.7. @chef what did you add as the min server version in the catalogue. (4.7.7) ??

  24. Just tested on New Releases and it gets grouped, so would expect it will happen in all of your channels. But can say the Trailers Channel does not have this behavior so will guess there is a Type exception. At the same time both versions link back to the same path so no sure why playback would be an issue unless Top Picks is doing something different.
    1 point
  25. To my knowledge yes so you can have media anywhere without a specific naming scheme and be able to have it group automatically.

  28. Is everyone aware that native browser support for h.265 or AV1 is pretty limited. It's nice that you guys set up your systems to playback h.265 in a browser with some plug-in or hardware or mobile app and it works fine. But 99% of the desktop user use a browser, where playback does not work. Have a look here for the green blocks on browsers that h.265 or Av1 can playback today. https://caniuse.com/hevc https://caniuse.com/?search=AV1 The question is why develop code that helps possibly less than 1% of desktop users. What is the percentage of users on mobile where h.265 does work? I think it makes more sense to wait until most browsers roll our updates to give playback for h.265 or AV1. By that time, perhaps things will change and any code update you spend time on now, would also have to change again. I don't do the code dev on this, but I would guess at AV1 and h.265 feature, setup, UI options, QA testing, UX design and bug fixing could total perhaps 200 employee / volunteer hours. That's if you are lucky. It's probable that you would have to come back every year to check that all the browser continue to work correctly with all new browser updates and also check any bug reports.

  29. I'm wondering if really it was just the act of editing and saving that file that fixed it. What happens if you re-instate the old stream order?

  30. This is my mistake. It does not refer to album in that way, I conflated emby with using mp3tag while seeing if it was worth mimicking what user dapper did with regards to adding extra metadata to files along with a more complicated filesystem layout to make file and series association easier. I chose not to go down that path, I will update my post to avoid misleading anyone who might come across it!

  34. I made some genre icons using comic books as a background. I made the Horror icon on a whim, and liked it so much I decided to make more. So far I've made 32 genres, and 4 category icons. I've avoided superhero, or other more popular comics for the most part. I've put them all on github. You can download individual files, or click "Code" button and download a zip of all files. The git is HERE

  36. No worries. It's a single "users.db" file in install-dir\programdata\data (under Windows default is C:\Users\YOURUSER\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\data). Shut down Emby before copying.

  38. Just to reconfirm you're doing it on local connection? Anyway, you might edit user.db and remove password directly, LocalUsersv2 table. If you're uncomfortable with SQL database editing, you might zip it and PM it to @cayars Emby needs to be shut down before either operation.

  39. It's Halloween soon so I watched The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. At 102 years old it holds by a thread. Other silent-era films (the kid, Nosferato, safety last) have aged much much better. I think the surrealist aspects of the movie worked okay, but the horror aspect didn't deliver. Emily the Criminal - there is an unforgivably large plot hole in this movie due to lazy writing. Jerry & Marge Go Large - I really enjoyed this movie. The best thing was it didn't use some contrived strife/argument between the husband and wife to create tension (which is a tired trope).

  48. Can we have a feature in the backup plugin to archive or compress the configuration backups? The block size on my ZFS share that it's backing up to is quite large, so the 19.0 MB of backup data for each backup is taking up 163 MB of space. Plus, since it's a backup, I can't imagine why it shouldn't be in a tar archive anyway. I think this would be simple to implement; eg, have it on by default or a toggle in the backup configuration, and then when it's trying to restore a backup just untar/unzip the archive to a temporary directory.
