Search could implement Exclude locations that is a lot of up keep when new channels are created. Perhaps an extension method on the return values, like: DistinctBy. Then use DistinctBy(name, production year). At the same time... search is doing what it is supposed to. It is returning proper values from the database. There are technically two enteries.3 points

Those docker installation although being Linux seem to be kind of special compared to "vanila" Linux installations. Anyways, I only had that once and remounting my share/rebooting the server (not Emby server but the whole OS) did solve the issue. Might help @Vilhei as well. For me it's moving the files. OS: Ubuntu latest LTS2 points

Once it's working, we'll be able to see the how those extrapolations will stand. What I would expect is that: Extrapolating from a run with 2 two or 4 parallel executions will lead to better estimations than from a solo run Those (linear) extrapolations are valid for a certain range only. At some point, there will be a saturation and the individual run performance will decrease stronger than the linear prediction would be, because in that range, the competition over resources will lead to highly frequent context switching (to equally satisfy each process) and that will in turn eliminate many caching effects (memory, disk, gpu mem) I'm sure that those effects exist and will be visible, but I'm curios to see to which extent and beyond which ranges these will start to hit in. Another point to consider is that we must not be cheating (ourselves) when running parallel executions and/or are trying to extrapolate: Of course you want to run exactly identical tests in parallel - but when we use a single source file for the parallel runs, then that would not accurately resemble reality - like "I can serve X 4k streams to X users in parallel" - because those X users would not watch the same source video. In turn, to make this realistic, for example, when we would want to run 8 transcodings in parallel, we'll need to make 7 copies of the source file before starting, so each instance will have its own source file. Calculating such index is probably the hardest part of all. I have thought through quite a number of ways for doing this, but for each way, I'm ending up with reasons why it's not fair or not accurate. Might need a bit of looking at how other benchmarks or handling it. With all enthusiasm I also need to set expectations straight: What we're talking about here is actually a NON-GOAL (). The actual focus is on quite different things like Improving and preserving software quality by regular testing (internally, automated and by users). And a second goal is streamlining user support by reducing time and effort on both sides for diagnosing and identifying issues. The next addition will be the ability to specify a custom file to run the tests on - alongside some of the plugin's known files as a reference. Maybe with automatic posting to the forums (that's why I was talking about it above). Those are the ideas. As you all know, those things often take much more time than in one's (and my own) initial thoughts as other and more important things get in the way. And that's not even including the benchmarking. The benchmarking part is more a kind of "surfer" which can ride on the waves of other work for this plugin - slowly but almost for free.2 points

Hi All, I have recently moved to emby from Kodi and so far I am very much enjoying the ease of setup and maintenance. Once small niggle I have is I have a ZFS server (Ubuntu 18.04) which isnt active 24x7 as I do not require it as its also a dual boot windows gaming machine. Default boot order is for ubuntu when a wake-on-lan request is received. When the server is down and I start emby on my nvidia shield it starts my server as expected. The issue is that it times out quickly and I then have to select the server, select the user and enter my password. Which doesnt make for a fluid experience. It would be very beneficial if there was a possibility to setup a timeout for wake-on-lan until it detects that the emby service is up and running. That is my only quirk at the moment. So happy with the software I have already joined emby premier.1 point

Stept to reproduce: (1) navigate into any collection grouping [tv/movies], (2) scroll down a few levels, (3) select, click into, and watch some content [few seconds seems to be all that is needed], (4) attempt to back out of playback all the way to the dashboard using the Home button on your Apple TV remote. Behavior: You will notice that when you get back to the collections page you will be unable to back out completely to the Emby dashboard/home without scrolling all the way to the top bar and highlighting the top bar. The Home/Back button ceases to work when you are located anywhere else on the screen. To fix: Double-click the "Window" button on your remote to get to the app drawer, and slide up/kill the Emby app & relaunch. Or restart your Apple TV.1 point

Not at all. In fact, since the latest update my recordings have been working perfectly. No more 404 disconnection issues with my provider. Not sure if something was tweaked with Emby to work around that problem but I really appreciate the reliability! Thank for for following up!!1 point

thanks. As a recommendation, I would love to see it come with some "pre-configured" keyboard mappings. "Emby", "VLC" etc where the default mappings for other players was easy to switch to. Ideally it would be a user level configuration not a server level1 point

Update on the above, and also echoing linked thread. Firestick Native app = Incompatible Codec Sideloaded android app = plays but is juddering (I guess due to Software Decoding and not Hardware) Native App + Nova Video Player = Plays 8bit + 10bit AV1 with hardware decoding - However with the inconveniences of using external player. Hope it's not too long till Emby player is fixed1 point

No, I don't think they do. I used a program called 'MediaHuman Lyrics finder'. Thank you, I was unaware of this. I will take a look1 point

Hi, this is actually not new in 4.7.8. It's been in 4.7 the whole time. We're looking into improving it. You can follow the discussion here: Thanks.1 point

Hi. I think if you look at any other application with that same type of interface, you will find that it just advances the list to the first item beginning with that letter. It isn't a filter but a jump to feature. So, behaving any different from that would be unexpected by anyone familiar with that interface.1 point

Another reason FR need to be polls instead of post Likes. As there is no way do dislike as that would really destroy one's reputation.1 point

Thanks for the hint! The patch will be included in ffmpeg shipped with the next Emby beta. The current Emby stable releases are based on ffmpeg 5.0 and are unaffected.1 point

I too had to give up on the Emby Android app for my Pixel 6 Pro. This odd color issue combined with the inability to play ATSC3 channels from my HDHR has made it unusable. I have moved to Channels DVR for now...1 point

OK I had a little fun with this and it looks like you'll be in luck in the 4.8 server release.1 point

Anyway .. really good work guys with emby software .. continue as long as you can . I will buy a lifetime subscription so please keep on this perfect work1 point

And just for completeness here is a current log where everything is working properly including thumbnail extraction by chapter markers not 10 seconds and intro skip detections also happening and new media is being detected and added to the library all at the same time. embyserver (2).txt1 point

For info..... I had the same issue in the UK using EE which of course uses CGNAT. Got round the problem by using Windscribe VPN, then setting port forwarding through that. I use Unraid, installed OPENVPN-Client docker, then pointed emby at that for its connection. Really simple, and haven't looked back ever since.1 point

Thanks for the heads up. I wanted to report back with the results of my testing. Turns out the OpenLyrics plugin in foobar2000 didn't work all that well for me, but the Lyric Show Panel 3 plugin did when used in conjunction with an extra plugin that allows it to search extra sources. Lyric Show Panel 3: foobar2000: Components Repository - Lyric Show Panel 3 Additional sources plugin: [Lyric Show Panel 3] lyrics from genius, musixmatch, minilyrics, qq, darklyrics, etc.. : foobar2000 (reddit.com) After configuring Lyric Show Panel 3: The Result I hope this helps people looking for synced LRCs until perhaps such a time as there is a native solution. Also very much looking forward for the lyrics feature to come to Android TV1 point
