Sorry, you asked if we considered a group policy approach so I was re-constructing the discussion from this thread where we did consider that and are implementing the straight copy now because it is very easy to do. Creating a group policy system would be much more complex and require a lot more dedicated development work. Since we cannot prioritize that right now, we are providing just what this FR was asking for as a quick win. Thanks.

It made for some interesting PMs which I loved following and watching you progress. You made a great choice with the Hynix P31 Gold NVMe as well, as it's among if not the best Gen 3 card available. PS 18 to 25 year Macallan, but after a nice meal once a week or so I'll treat myself to a nice dram of one of my Islay Single Malts I always have in my private stash: 16 year Lagavulin, Ardbeg Uigeadail, Laphroaig Lore or 18 year Caol Ila. But you're spot on, how smooth the setup is with a NVMe setup in this fashion. It's really a shame you can't do this setup in the GUI or use it like this out of the Box! Carlo

I use Linux Mint and I used these steps to find the offending shows: Install SQLiteBrowser via Software Manager Make a copy of the /var/lib/emby/data/library.db file to your home directory eg: /home/USER/Documents/library.db Then Start the SQLiteBrowser and open the copied DB Then run this command: select Path, Name, SeriesName, ProviderIds from MediaItems where type=8 and SeriesName is null; The results will shows the files which causes the issues. Then move those files to another directory which isn't part of any Database. Re-scan the affected Databases from which those files were moved Run statistics APP again (Profit)

Could we have the TV shows suggestions be a bit more like movies and give us some, because you watched rows. Possibly a row of new recently added shows (I know you can filter the TV library for this but it seems fitting here). Only having the next up row and all your recently added episodes does not really feel like it is giving you suggestions.

Hello. For some time Emby has not scnned my newly added movies. It adds the TV shows fine. So far, I have had a friend review the logs and we found nothing. So we moved all of the movies out of the folder and then added a new movie to the now empty folder through my usual process and that worked fine. So we proceeded to add the movies back in to the folder in batchs of 10. We were able to add all the movies aback in porgressively and see Emby identify and display them. Once this porcess was complete, we attempted to add a new movie, and the problem occurred again. The movie does not appear, seemingly Emby cannot scan for new movies. We are using Emby Server 4.6.0.50 on the raspberry Pi on the LibreElec system. Ive attached some recent logs, with the most recent ones when we added the latest movie. Please help! Attn: Luke or whoever does this, I would love to have a section to request themes for our server on here or let us know how we can add the themes we want on our server. The older method was essentially a cheap starting point that we kind of just threw in until we could do something better. I do understand that sometimes when we do that, some users might actually end up liking it that way but most did not. What we're doing now is a much more commonly used pattern. I would think that we could find a way to make the matching items stand out more.

Can be manually downloaded via url but plugin is completely broken in this update. Task runs but doesn't do anything, user stats are unacceptable.

HI, that was our older implementation. In fact, we only did that at the time because because the newer method hadn't been built yet. Is there something we could do to make the current technique better for you? For instance what if there was a highlight around the first one matching the letter you clicked?

@hackthis02For some reason, Statistics 3.0.3.4 is failing to download. When I loaded Emby a few minutes ago, there were two failed automatic download attempts in the Alerts section of the dashboard. I just tried to update the plug-in from the catalog, and the result was the same. I rotated the log file to isolate the issue, and attempted to download the plug-in again. Tagged three chapters of an audiobook to Allow and had no issue with that being the only thing acceptable to the user all other libraries were empty. @MBSki I tagged one episode and it appeared via episodes tab as Show/Season are not tagged as Series inherit from parent folder So I am not sure what is considered to be broken here. But depending on what you tag will be limited to a specific library view. Only issue I see it tag is not searchable, but you can click on the tag to see all tagged items.

I did a complete reinstall and it seems to be working fine now. Not sure why it was fighting with me but its all good now. Thanks for the assistance.

Thank you all I finally have it working. Fixed by converting certificate using sslhopper (mentioned above) thank you !! but I had to go through setting several times as making too many changes at once didn’t seem to register like requiring secured connection and also selecting the pfx file and putting in the password I had to do each of those steps with a separate reboot of the server to make sure the actions were taking place properly. also had to update port forwarding as both the https internal and external ports had to match before being able to access. I also have vpn so I did select the the server to be whitelisted to make sure they didn’t cause the error.

I discovered today Emby has a manual recording option as of version 4.7 and it works great - thanks Emby team! This feature addresses the issue I first raised in this thread. Videos sometime hang when forwarding long in-process recordings, especially toward the 3+ hr mark where sports matches are decided. I recorded Monday Night Football today into 8 30 minute "episodes" and they were nicely saved in order where I could watch them like a TV series. 30 mins is probably overkill, going forward I'll try 1-hour segments. I've been too busy this year to read release notes and such but I'm not making that mistake again.

Yes if switch is removed it would be collapsed somewhere in the code. But would affect users that do not want a collapse view also.

In the past the next-gen addon didn't work for me. I bit the bullet and tried it and so far it seems like it is working and solved the issue.

I uninstalled every app related to emby: server, theater. And I go to Appdata/Roaming to delete every emby related folders. Then I reinstalled Emby server, it worked.

This should be fixed now for the next beta. Let's try again once it's out.

hi, never mind, thanks for looking. it's not you, it's me. choosing to use IP rather than hostname appears to have resolved this. i did put a new router in around a month ago. I'm thinking that i likely had something configured there but the emby server had the settings and was ok till it upgraded. I have static IP configured for my media center on the router. i will look into settings on router to see if anything further required there to allow resolving of hostname.

Each will do the same thing remove items from DB and readd. So it is really your choice.

No, the remaining Leonardo episodes of the season have been recording normally since the sixth episode, and Monarch has also been recording normally since I canceled and re-selected the season pass. I still don't know why any of this started happening in the first place, but I am glad things seem to be back to normal.

@cayarsI wanted to extend my gratitude for your extraordinary patience and help! I finally successfully installed the Hynix P31 Gold (1TB) and copied over the Emby folders to it. The improvement to performance has been nothing short of startling! Whereas, previously we had to contend with jittery playback and frequent freezes (when pausing play or fast forwarding), now it's as smooth as Tennessee whiskey, or an 18-yr old Macallan, whichever you prefer. Honestly, I had forgotten what a pleasure it was to play something through without some hiccups. Thanks you so very much!

Nothing, in my eyes, should try to mimic what apple does. They are the worst UI devs IMO and just change stuff to no real benefit. They were pioneers at one time, but alas they have lost their way, but they did set the standard which is still being used today, so have to give them credit for that. Apple are like the guy said in Tron: Legacy “so what have you done this year to improve on encom OS 12?” “Well… this year… we slapped a 12 on the box”

It's frustrating when Emby shrinks on your TV and then you have no choice but to use the mouse to enlarge it across the entire screen with maximize button. I use a SoundBar and every time I turn it off along with the TV when I turn it back the Emby shrinks, I've tried everything and nothing seems to help, I even tried denying access to the windowstate.json file but that didn't help either. So is it really impossible to somehow solve this problem programmatically?

Since there isn't a great place for Emby related "off topic" discussion, and this probably doesn't warrant it's own topic... but I officially deleted Plex off my NAS this morning. I've had it disabled for probably the last month or so just to make sure Emby could live on it's own and do everything that I need from it. Very happy to say I'm a "one media server software" user now finally. Thanks to the team here for all the help over the last, probably, year or so! For my purposes, it's like night and day how far Emby has come in that time. It's always been pretty good with the video playback and client support, but was unusable before for casting music around my house and it's darn near perfect now. Hopefully continue getting even better.

@Lukethis is reproducible on a new install or removing the plugin and readding it. I just did a Refresh Search for Missing to correct the issue. But assume without another log from OP we need to figure out why "?language=pt-BR" is in the url that breaks the request.

The Diagnostics plugin adds User Sessions to Setting to present you with a layout like that for your users playback session.

I'm set up and recording... the biggest issue is you need to refresh Pluto's listings every 3-6 hours since they only let you have 8 hrs out. Playback seemed fine for the few minutes I tested it, then I set up some overnight recordings to see how they look tomorrow. (2am-ish here, gotta sleep) The shortest refresh in the Emby interface is 1 day, anyway they could change that for M3U sources? Channels looks like the attached pic.
