The Android image library in the TV app cannot load images from an IPv6 address so that is the problem. (more correctly, it cannot load images from an IPv6 address that specifies a port - which all Emby urls do) @80srule were you able to get him to send the log?

I haven't been able to reproduce the problem reliably. The TV is not primarily used by me but my parents haven't complained of playback stopping since then. Ill keep an eye on it and report if i encounter the issue again.

@popeye246810 But the devs have done it faster in the past and we go 429 errors and had more complaints why am I not getting metadata as the provider blacklisted user for to many requests to fast. And the provider reached out to the Devs from my understanding. My understand is one of the other guys has their own metadata mirrors also. But overall options is a major factor as I can import over 8000 movies and 15,000 in less than a day. But everything is local also.

I agree. To me new release would definitely have to have been released to the public within. A certain time frame. If I make that time frame customizable then a channel library can populate itself with items that have premiered date within that DateTime to Now. For example: Thor Love and Thunder had a premiere date last week. If that item exists in the library, then that item should become part of the New Releases channel. If that is correct then I have a New Releases channel plugin ready to go! Give me a couple minutes and we should try it out.

In my case 1.3.6 also solved the problem of incorrect selection of embedded subtitles. Another thing I've noticed is that the problem where the subtitles stay on the screen until the next one appears is only present on embedded subrip subtitles, with external srt subtitles everything works fine.

I lowered the network speed in the tv app and it put my cpu and ram and fan into heavy use because it was transcoding, i tried 25mbps and 30mbps but it still struggled to play and i think it was the pc that was holding it back and buffering occasionally. I played a movie last night and the video has a higher bitrate plus it had to transcode the audio, this movie played perfectly. So this is very confusing. As a test and using the Emby tv app, i played the same 1hr tv episode that froze yesterday, it froze again but not at the same places and it seems to be random, i then used the tvs DNLA feature to load the Emby server and the full episode played perfectly.

Alright! I managed to get this working through OpenVPN. I used the guides linked down below pretty simple. Standard OpenVPN GUI client. Have confirmed that metadata transfer works just fine and that only the programs I want tunneled are tunneled. If possible I would like to see some improvements for viewing photo's with Emby. I have given all my photos certain tags so I can easily find what I'm looking for. In the Emby metadata manager I see those tags are available but in the Emby app it doesn't do anything with that info for as far as I have seen. - Add a tag search option - Add a sort on tag option - Add an option to display those tags while the photos are displayed - Add an option to set the time in seconds a photo is being displayed in a slideshow - Add an option to display where images are taken - Add an option to get places where images are taken, people, things etc. as collection? (like Google photos does) Thanks

If atv mean Android TV I too did not have issue lately with it. I was testing with Windows App, but I really don't care about Windows app it was only more convenient to test with it. I use a nVidia Shield and tv show I'm interested with just started back this week and I could watch and skip commercial while recording without a hitch. Those recordings were from a very stable signal though, when Survivor start later this month I'll see, this one come from a channel that isn't as stable as my other channels. So fart so good, before at the begining of this issue I was having problems with all channels even the highly stable ones. Keep up the good work, love the system! - Lifetime subscriber!

Was nagging away at me so gave it one last try before bed. Small W managed to get Emby to recognize the cert, no idea what I did differently this time. Still unable to actually connect though, when clicking the link or just inputting the domain into the browser it's unable to load and says "ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED", have just likely muddled something up on GoDaddy when reverting things back though. Tomorrows another day .-.

Can you try something lower bitrate? I wonder if the TV's network connection just can't keep up with that.

Sorry wanna get this out, but the family has got the covid.. again... Geesh. When the migraine headache goes away I'll finish this. To handle our rating problem I've decided to add a toggle which will ignore user accounts that have parental controls on them. As for accounts where children have altered the watch data because they replay the same children's movie 10 times in a row... Still working on it. We want to keep the setup and simple as possible, so I dont think an ignore list is the way to go... But, it might come down to that.

Okay, there is one other thing I think that needs to be added. This thread is called new releases. So maybe we should have a toggle that adds items that have been released in the current month to the top picks automatically. That way if you don't get around to creating a top picks list, and you haven't enabled the auto picks, then new releases will add themselves. That sound cool?

If you have a some good photo files for testing that contain a range of iptc/exif/xmp metadata, then please zip them up and attach them here and I'll make sure Emby Server supports reading all of the embedded information. Thanks !

Can we please get a timeline for this? I've curated a lot of my titles, only to now see it now being undone if I make any changes, which is a royal pain. While I can see value in all of them, Overview would be my highest priority, followed by People as often the metadata coming from other sources is either poor or full of spelling errors. It seems existing locks will remain if you do not change the files. I tested with a file which had the Overview locked but as soon as I made a change to it, Emby saved the nfo without the lock and then refreshing the metadata undid my locked changes. I don't know if I'd call this a feature request either; it's simply a bug which can result in metadata loss.

Just noticed this comment. I really hope that you are looking at more than just Exif metadata in photos. That class of metadata is supposed to be used for just technical information on a photo (e.g. what camera was used, the ISO setting, shutter speed, date taken etc.). It is not supposed to be used for tags that describe what the photo is about. For that, you should be looking at XMP-based metadata, such as IPTC-Core. The tag issue is solved now I see. Still it is not usable in Kodi and Emby on Shield TV. In Emby on Windows I can select the tags / labels by selecting a filter. I really like an option in Emby and Kodi named tags or labels and when selected it shows a list with all available tags/labels that are present. The filter dropdown menu now in Kodi is not handy and slow. It will make searching for certain kind of photos so much easier. Thanks.

I know that the metadata manager used to see the photo tags that are in them but now all the labels of my photos are empty in Emby. I have added those tags with Picasa. These tags are well seen when I upload to Flickr.

Okay, didn't know that. I do not see my photo tags in Kodi. Is that not possible yet. I tried to search for an option to search photo's based on tags but did not find that yet. Perhaps that @@Angelblue05 can answer that. I did take a look at my photos in Emby but I don't see my tags there. I can set to see year and title but no tags. I would like the tags to show up at the bottum of the photo when viewing in a slideshow or just scrolling through them. In Kodi I have a screensaver that does that but it can't do that for scrolling through them. It is just a screensaver and nothing more. That is why I hoped Emby could do this. Thanks.

Your guide data probably doesn't have this. Emby Server is displaying the images contained in your xml guide data.
