Sad day for those of you across the pond... She was an icon that will never be replaced.5 points

probably planned for a future release… it already is!! Finally… you should be rewarded for all the amazing free plugins you have already provided the emby community. 100% behind you on this bro5 points

I can put this in the plugin catalog anytime. The reason that I am waiting is because there is a core feature that the devs are working on, that will help organize how the ranked items appear on the home screen. Currently, I have no real control over where the items get placed. We can rank them, and create the custom thumb and primary images, but when they get displayed they may or may not be inorder. The devs are going to add this ability for one of the upcoming releases of Emby. Then I'll put it in the catalog for everyone to use. It will be awesome!! Just as an aside, this will be a paid feature though. I think it's worth a couple bucks for the time it took me to write and refine it.5 points

One bit of good news is that the new "Add home screen focus preview" option bug in that the bottom of the library labels can still be seen has been fixed.2 points

New releases and top pick (something that admin of emby server choose) are 2 completely different things.2 points
-
Okay, there is one other thing I think that needs to be added. This thread is called new releases. So maybe we should have a toggle that adds items that have been released in the current month to the top picks automatically. That way if you don't get around to creating a top picks list, and you haven't enabled the auto picks, then new releases will add themselves. That sound cool?2 points

It's just weird that DTS is output. Everything else on two-channel. Too bad though. Now that Emby is running perfectly, that would have been kind of awesome to have it all in one. For TV, you still need the original remote for picture settings, as you do for the Shield. You can do the controls with both remotes, but you still need the respective remote for the settings. Nevertheless, NOW that DTS-HD HR is also running on Emby, I'm extremely happy with it.2 points

I am happy to have been a help to you. I have to specify that Sony default media player cannot play Dolby Vision. It is necessary to use third-party apps such as Emby (but also some Kodi builds)2 points

The task has it's own schedule and/or run when new media is added. No - it will happen as above - but a library scan/metadata refresh is needed to 'see' the changes - ie re-read the MKV file No - this will not impact any aspect of the watch or 'item id' status - the item is exactly the same, but will now have titles for each track within the MKV for emby (or any other application) to use. The Plugin simply uses MediaInfo to get the detailed information and then uses Mkvpropedit (part of mkvtoolnix) to write the new header information. It does not need to remux the MKV's or anything like that - it just changes the header - thus it is very fast. No - Emby will see this as a metadata update - thus the emby date added is not changed. If you are referring to the operating system file changed date - then yes, this is changed because it's data written to disk, even if it is just the header. I would suggest you setup a small test instance (a 2nd emby instance takes a few mins to install - use the portable version and use a different network port, close the first instance while you change the new instance port, then restart the 1st instance again) - then you can see exactly what it does.2 points

Thanks guys, that sounds good, I think you are right, in real life usage I wouldn't be bouncing around so much, and I do like the behavior that if I do go back it won't skip in case I am trying to see if I missed something. Thanks for the clarification.2 points

No I haven’t but I can definitely try! I didn’t realize the genres are dynamically created based on those tags. I thought they were rigid. I’ll report back once I give it a shot.1 point
-
Only because you asked nicely... lol Yes Luke, I'd be happy to check it out. I'll do it in a few hours when off work.1 point
-
Hi, have you tried using the metadata editor to add this genre to one or more of your movies? Once you have the data into your movies, then you'll see the genre listed in the genre filters, genre lists, etc.1 point

Things should be improved a bit once this development gets ported into the Apple TV app:1 point

@LqHnyBear Hi. Can you try sideloading our standard android app on the same device and see how that compares? https://emby.media/emby-for-android.html Thanks.1 point

Whoa! So busy. Two 'all nighters'! I built a web app, and it has an API. I have never done that before. It is a huge undertaking, but I did it. This is the web page that appears when you go the url. You authenticate with Emby. Then you are shown the last 10 results of the background standardizer. Emby can request the images directly from the API, or this app can do a full replacement of the actor images in the file system. You can choose to keep both files if you don't like the results, so there is a "Go Back" feature, but it does double the image count so you'll have to have a large file system... But once you confirm the results, this will do a clean up. TODO: Choose to see processed actor list by movie/TV Show1 point

The new "Add home screen focus preview" option small bug in that the bottom of the library labels can still be seen has been fixed in V 1.3.5 which is available for download. The ends at time is not back in the info pane but hopfully that can return in a future release.1 point

I had to find a small enough file but all of my files of any format display the same issue. This is only 720p and most of mine are 1080p. Jerky behavior is slightly less on this file but it still crashes. Uncoupled - S01E02 - Chapter 2.mkv1 point

OK, back then installing the latest server beta seemed to have helped (see first post on page 21) but I just gave it a try after a long time and am running into the same issue. I can see that Emby's package includes libstdc++.so.6.0.28 while the OS file on /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu is a bit newer libstdc++.so.6.0.30. So, replacing Emby's lib by the system lib could help. Unfortunately, I will only get to it by tomorrow, maybe you can give it a try and see how it behaves. If this helps we could ask Luke if he could update the lib in the beta package, I guess...1 point

1.3.5 is up and has some fixes to the video OSD, so you could try that. Thanks.1 point

Oh wow. I guess I didn't follow the help exactly. I'll try and report back.1 point

Ok, seems that. "Home network quality" in the TV app is set to blank. Which is strange, because you cannot select nothing. I put it back on "Auto", and Emby seems perfect again ! Really don't know how it's happen, as I didn't even know there is settings also on app. I always change settings on server. Anyway, really Thanks!1 point

MFA is as for every Service user based so every user can decide to enable or disable it, we just want to have an option to enable it for specific accounts.1 point

Just for conversation sake, since I'm interested in this feature (if it were to happen someday) but am not knowledgeable on it in this context only using it for more non-self hosted, cloud based services... would each user on my Emby server have their own 2FA, or would it be specifically for Emby Connect or something? Would I be able to have it that some users require it and some users don't (ie. a user with administrative/management access does, a regular user doesn't)? If so... would that be the appropriate way to use it, or would leaving regular user accounts alone be a security risk? I don't mind 2FA for my own administrative login, but I wouldn't want to subject my family to installing authentication apps on their smartphones. It's hard enough to get them in without that lol.1 point

Hey all, so after some back and forth and redoing stuff it is now working. I don't exactly know what was wrong but nonetheless thank you all for the help!1 point

WIP = Work In Progress? It will not take time, maybe in the next 48 hours I will add one, right now, most important that no issue after the update. Thanks buddy.1 point

Yeah, I don't think any TVs support HD audio out of the internal apps. They are build for streaming services and no streaming service is delivering those audio formats.1 point

It would be use to have time-based internet streaming bitrate limits per profile. We've had problems for years with the various ISP's that our family and friends use over-subscribing their networks during prime time. Between the hours of 6-9pm, users have to manually drop their stream rate to 1-2mb to be able to watch anything... (usually AT&T is the culprit). If we could set the time/stream rate from their profile it would be nice.1 point

Looks like similar issues regarding the libraries packaged with with Emby have caused problems for mediainfo in the past. This looks like an Emby issue to me, and not a user config error or Linux defect issue. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/108984-mediainfo-for-emby-pluginhdr-vision-atmos-dtsx/&do=findComment&comment=1159175 https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/108984-mediainfo-for-emby-pluginhdr-vision-atmos-dtsx/&do=findComment&comment=11579541 point

agree, it is never a single attach vector alone, combinations are the key and if you could gain "local" access to an unsecured (no password) local account using the header injection and then this one to gain elevated access, install a plugin that lets you run scripts (Emby Scripter-X or something) and trigger some events or just outright delete the library and all media. I agree Emby is not widely used enough to warrant a mass campaign of attach however that is not always the aim. So lets say you wanted to tarnish the Emby brand name and you were not a very nice person. All you would have to do is compromise a few dozen machines, not enough to kill the machines but enough to piss the user off, like deleting their library etc and all of a sudden you have the forum flooded with OMG my library has been deleted. Word gets out and boom Emby is no longer secure, avoid, dont connect to the internet etc etc and people will switch back to other alternatives (Plex, Jellyfin etc) This can happen and I think it might have already at one point (just speculation based on what I have seen over the last few years).1 point

Thought I would just chime in a bit here. I was seeing something similar after a fresh re-install of Windows 11 21H2 and a Server Backup Restore on the current public release using the plugin last weekend. Last few days EmbyServer was using pretty much all of my 48 GB of ram. Today came here to report it, but saw Luke's mention of the possible issue being resolved in the latest beta and I do have Photo Libraries. The beta version does seemed to have fixed my issue for me, so thanks gang. Best of luck squishing your issue GFortune!1 point

I do but make it paid. That’s paramount At least you will get real time feedback to improve on if necessary1 point

Not sure what you are trying to achieve. If you want one playlist, named Decades, then set one year range from 1970 to 2009. However the way you have it set, the plugin is searching for ALL ranges in a file. Change it to ANY and check your results. ALL = AND ANY = OR1 point

Hi. Do you have the option to switch frame rate/resolution turned on? It could be due to switching video modes on the display.1 point

Does removing [data-type="home"] from the code above accomplish what you want? A quick test would appear so.1 point

Thanks. I'm seriously thinking of a Sony for my next TV and glad to see they support DV7 MEL. Couldn't find anything in the user's manual stating that. I sort of figured all new Sony's supported 8.1 though because Sony has their own streaming service Bravia Core which uses profile 8.1 and requires a 115 mbps connection.1 point

Also don't forget that there is a tool on doom9 to change and inject DV profiles.1 point
