  1. Hey guys, I have spent quite a bit of time looking into this. I have written a lot of code, and I'm not entirely convinced that a watch party environment is currently possible in a way that would satisfy the user base. I feel like it is a bit of a hacky work around, and I didn't want to get everyone's hopes up. It isn't to say that it wouldn't be possible as more core features are added to emby over time. If I were to post anything I've worked on over the last couple days, I feel like it would not meet the expectations of the community. It doesn't feel intuitive. I've pushed what I have worked on, open source, to GitHub. Just wanted to be upfront about it.

  2. It doesn't have anything to do with the core. Infact the core has "Session.AdditionalUsers" which can group many users to the same session. This would (I imagine) even be a simple way to sync watch status. But creating and syncing a session group just doesn't (currently) do what you'd expect. I just wouldn't want to release something that is a half hazard.

  3. That's the part I think would require more testing because I doubt you can maintain that with multiple remote sessions with differing playback methods. My guess is it would be very likely to be several seconds out of sync.

  4. I've had a look at the code and followed comments in this thread by both @chef and @ebr and unfortunately I have to agree, core is the place for this feature and not a plugin. Also, trying to bolt on a external web app, which I think at one time there was working being done on that approach in this forum that seems to have died off, or other such things just won't accomplish what needs to be accomplished. For those that really want or even need this feature, maybe look at Plex and/or JellyFin for "parties" at least until the Emby core team can do a proper implementation.

  8. Sorry, no. As I said, the technique they were attempting is not really suited to this purpose. There is an open feature request for this feature. However, there are just still way too many other items that have a much better cost/benefit for a wider audience at this time. Thanks.

  9. We cannot make changes to the apps to accommodate a specific 3rd party plug-in specifically. The crux of the issue here is that the technique they are attempting to use to implement this is simply not really designed for what they need to do. Some other approach would need to be taken and, other than true integration in the core, I'm not really sure there is a suitable alternate approach.

  10. I have used a TP-Link AC750 in Client Mode in the past - seems to work well. These are great little devices - can work as a wifi-extender, ethernet to wifi ap or client mode (wifi to ethernet). These are £33 / $40 on Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-Link-Support-Extender-UK-TL-WR902AC/dp/B01NAYG15H/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=tp+link+ac750&qid=1659955520&sr=8-5

  11. Things to think about depending on implementation. But won't know what we are working until they implement some something. Tweaked xml plugin to read existing FormalMPAA.

  12. Just watched Elvis. The acting is well done. Probabaly will win some awards. Pretty good movie, that I'm glad I saw, but will most likely not watch more then once.

  13. I periodically download/remove albums in the Android app. I need a visual indication that I've already downloaded an album to my phone in the grid and single item views to make that process sane.

  15. According to the log I saw, it was working fine. @BeppoMonkeyBoy will need more details on exactly why you think it isn't working.

  16. DV is a proprietary format so its pass though I believe. Translation, the client needs to support it directly.

  17. Would have to find other topics but no as it is propriety. See this topic and other comments.

  18. Oh right your question made me realize I did connect something external to grap the metadata to that folder but completely forget about it. Sorry to waste your time but if you didn't mention that this nfo is not by Emby I would have never remembered. Thank you

  19. Ok, I've changed my mind and just reorganising my movies in subfolders. Fortunately there is a free tool to move files into folders.

  20. @fahad92 What program is maked this nfo file as it does not appear to something Emby made? But not seeing a language field from original guess.

  21. I'll do some further testing following these parameters. It will most likely be a few days.

  22. Double check the output resolution via stats for nerds. That list to choose from is more or less just about the bitrate, the decision making for resolution does it's own thing. So if the bitrate is high enough, the server will not downscale.

  23. Looks like the 2.2.3 app update corrects the download issue. It appears to be working for me now. Will do further testing later today to see. I only tried a couple files I know can direct play.

  25. This is good news but just for clarification, TMDb is looking to add a "rating reason" which is good but different from this request which is a rating from CSM specifically. Those are two different things.

  27. Thank you very much - that was "Spiderman" - changed that to" Marvel Cinematic Universe" which will work out. Is that behaviour intended (that it picks the first movie name for the sort title if you add many at once) ?

  30. I sure will do. I've completed the UI now, just need to hook up the back end Clicking on the icon bring up a menu to move the intro or delete it And you can decide exactly how you want it to play in any order and as many items as you want for the pre rolls. Selecting a folder will take x number of intros randomly from that folder and play them in a random order also.

  31. Yea.. I got dragged along to watch this at the cinema. I wasn't expecting much, not my type of movie but hey I love a large serve of popcorn. Strangely enough I really enjoyed it, like you said it's a watch once kind of move but worth a "one for the money..."

  33. New version available 7.7.4: delta changelog: improve plugin icon toggle @Centory Try this version. The icon toggle requires a Kodi restart (to change the plugin icon as well). In your case maybe you need to do it twice (due to the change). -> Install new version, select animated icon. Restart Kodi, and select regular icon and restart again. btw, in next version I'll disable the animated icon by default. It's better, cause it uses some additional resources. Not too good for low spec devices. So will be an opt-in not an opt-out feature.

  34. yes it could be a good point to have a hardware guide regarding the current GPU prices (even if it's lower than last year). But the rest of emby ant it's concept are very cool and this "problem" doesn't detract this fact. Thanks for your help.

  37. Powerline adapter with Wi-Fi. There are Wi-Fi to Ethernet adapters like this way too expensive old model https://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-Universal-Ethernet-Adapter-WNCE2001/dp/B003KPBRRW. I think some Wi-Fi extenders also have Ethernet ports. Or, an old router??

  41. Have you set up your own server? Who are you paying a subscription to? Is it for the premiere features on your own server, or is it to use someone else's server? If you have your own server, providing the log (as specified in the post above) would help diagnosis. If you are using someone else's server, you should ask them about it. Paul
