The main thing I do is use the "Genre Cleaner" plugin and map almost all the junk genera to a more correct genera such as "Sci-Fi" and "Horror" and "Fantasy" all get mapped to "Science Fiction/Horror/Fantasy" and yes I created that genera. And, yes I have similar genera for others such as: "Mystery/Thriller/Crime." I also use "Drama" as a catchall for many of the junk genera such as "TV Movie." My mappings leave me with only four or five genera total that covers all my movies. I do not bother with TV as, for me, TV genera are not really meaningful. Of course movies are not much better. I just do not understand why there appears to be a different genera that mean exactly the same thing such as "Science Fiction" and "Sci-Fi." Genera Cleaner allow me to reduce the junk to a manageable level. Also I almost never use genera to find a movie or TV show so my methods might not work for everyone. I use "Genera Cleaner" mainly to get the total genera entries down to a nice low number2 points

Could be a plugin also, which would allow admin to “clean” guest account. run the Shedule task. Would take about an hour to knock up to be fair. i like the idea tho. need a list of what exactly needs to be done during the Clean task, then the admin can select in the UI how what to clean.1 point

Take about 5-7 watts per HDD and whatever the idle power usage of the CPU is. My e5-2670 (150 watt TDP) with 15 drives, my i3-8130u server (15 watt laptop) and my 8 port gigabit switch use a max of 175 watts.1 point

I just want to help fully assimilate. That everything will be adapted to the Hebrew language. I think it is really necessary for all the users who have this language.1 point

I personally use an i3-8130u and quicksync makes it no problem to have 20+ 1080p transcodes going at once. The asics are the same across all chips in a generation usually, so the only advantage of going up a spec is more power for other things. If it's going to be a dedicated server, an i3 should be more than enough with quicksync. As for 4k, are you transcoding them, or direct playing. My i3-8130u can handle 3 4k transcodes with tonemapping before it completely throws up and dies. If you are direct playing, the i3 will not be a problem, if you are transcoding 4k with tone mapping, the i5 is ideal.1 point

Yea without requesting any fields, the data you get back is pretty minimal. https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby/wiki/Item-Information1 point

Add it to the 'Fields' array. The data will appear in the request results.1 point

FWIW: I have had no as in zero issues with any data breach reports that involve Emby. I still receive notifications of "compromised data" involving the Plex data breach from years and years ago. However I eliminated all the email addresses and passwords I used from that long ago. I believe that a lot of reporting tools/databases that are supposed to report data breaches are not reliable at all. It almost seems that the services that are supposed to help us be safe are actually tools of big business or government to instill fear in the public and somehow control their lives. And, if that is not enough of a conspiracy idea, I also believe that the military industrial complex is actually behind almost all of the data breaches we hear about. It is designed to produce paranoia; and it works VERY well. On a somewhat more serious note: If you change your passwords regularly data breaches become nearly meaningless.1 point

Cool, I might check it out then. I have been using truecharts apps mainly for the ease of setup of ssl using cloudflare reverse proxy and traefik.1 point

Hi guys, I was in the neighborhood and thought I'd drop in and see what's new. So I've gone through the threads since I last was around and gathered up all the new additions and merged them into the main repository. Which pretty much consisted of all the contributions from @JohnWPB stored on his Onedrive. Although I did see there where a lot added my another user by the name of @Riggs that had hosted them from a personal server, but unfortunately all of his links are now dead. If anyone here happened to download those and wouldn't mind uploading them someplace I could grab them from I'd be happy to merge them into the collection as well so they aren't lost to time. Anyway, you guys keep up the good work, and hopefully these can remain relevant for years more to come. I know is seems like I've forgotten about these sometimes, but just know that I haven't, and I'll continue to drop in from time to time and gather up your guys newest works and deposit them in with the rest of the collection. Take care, and if someone does happen to make Riggs download available for me, I'll get that done straight away.1 point

Hi. It has been in Google's hands for several days now. We don't know exactly when it will clear review. It is already out on the Fire platform though.1 point

hello @Luke, @ebr FYI after additional changes it seems that issue is gone on tizen, apple tv and ios devices - between my digibit twin and tvheadend is now minisatip container (no idea why additional piece of software helped but it is so...) - additional change is that descrambling has been moved from tvheadend to minisatip (start of descrambling by channel change is faster) - last change was moving from tvheadend plugin to m3u playlist (channel switching takes longer but my feeling is that it is more stable) and regarding android tv it seems that issue is related with TV (failing to black screen and shifted sound is there also in other apps) many thanks for your support1 point

Emby Server 4.7 - In Depth (Part 1) Emby Server 4.7 and it's point releases provide some very cool new functionality. This is the first or introduction blog post in a new series we're doing to show you some of this new cool functionality. We're going to try and publish 1 or 2 blog posts in this series each week but will depend on other releases. Let's kick this off with a cool new feature from the recent 4.7.4 release. Add new table view option The next blog post will cover the following bullet point that just doesn't do it justice: Add Episode Intro Detection and Skipping feature NOTE: if you have a request for something you would like to see covered sooner than later make sure to comment below and let us know your preference. The new Table View Option is available everywhere in the library views but we'll be showing this using a TV Library using the show names and a couple examples of episodes. You could use the table view for movies, music albums, songs or any other part of your library. Share with us your favorite use. Let's start by showing how you change the view. The first thing we want to do is click the 3 dot menu circled in yellow in the pic above which will open the following settings: Change the view from (likely) Primary to Table and you'll have a set of fields you can choose to display. For now click the top left back arrow and you'll see a new table view that looks similar to below. Now that we have an idea what it looks, like click back on the 3 dot menu and select other columns to display. Below I added a few more columns. You no longer need to use the 3 dot menu as the table has a built in way to add/remove columns quickly. Click the icon shown in the yellow square top left in the picture above. Yep, much more convenient to use. Select a few more columns to display (or select them all) and let's see what we get. If the table scrolls off the screen you can use the scroll bar at the bottom of the screen, gestures or two finger trackpad slide to scroll the grid. You can right click on any row and bring up the action menu which should look familiar. Most of the headers can be clicked to quickly sort by that column. A second click on the header reverses the sort order. The picture below shows the table is using the Community Ratings and it's sorted in a reversed order to find the highest ratings. Tip: Use the Keyboard to Jump to sections closer to your Media. You can type up to 3 characters to jump media starting with those letters. If you have a keyboard you can type up to 3 characters to jump to media starting with those same letters. This jump will ignore the commons words like "a", "the", etc f I type BON it jumps to media starting with "bon" which is helpful if you want to watch "Bones". If I wanted to quickly jump to the show "The Rookie" or "The Big Bang Theory" I would use ROO or BIG to get these results: You could use a single character like "S" to jump to media starting with "S". Typing "TR" would make it easy to access Training Day or Treadstone. Just like the Primary view you can apply filters (tab up top). This came in handy as I was trying to think of a show name my son and I watched together but couldn't think of the name. I remembered it was a Science Fiction show so I tried this filter knowing the show had been played. This filter produced the following results which had the show name I couldn't remember "Terra Nova". Looking at the Genres I could have used a couple different Genres in my search. The table view expands the viewing flexibility of Emby a great deal and we think it's going to be an instant hit! Try it in different situations, like remote use on a small screen when you want the most media showing with it's additional information while having fast loading screens since all the media graphics don't have to load. Please share with us your favorite use of the new Table View and any tips or tricks you discover! View the full article1 point

The most simple workaround till this problem is fixed is to set the subtitles OFF in the movie/series screen befor pressing PLAY. So the Movie/Episode will start at once like it should be... after the Movie/Episode started playing simply select and activate the requested Subs from the OSD. This works without any problem.1 point

Hello, Same problem here, since the last update of Emby client on LG TV, i have a lot of problem when i launch a 4K film. I have the blue circle of loading on the screen since some minutes (or more) and the client didn't take any stop command. I don't test if i have this problem if i don't active the subtitles but if it's the problem, have you a solution ? Thanks1 point

Thanks, that worked! I think because running from TrueNAS shell, I'm already root, so i didn't need to sudo iocage set allow_mlock=1 <jailname>1 point

Hi, you're going to have to configure the jail to enable mlock: Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.1 point

I performed these exact steps and Emby no longer loads. Stopped/Restarted jail and service. TrueNAS 12.0-U6.1 Emby jail 12.2-RELEASE-p15 Updated from Emby 4.6.6.0 Able to ping Emby server, but does not load in browser or Android app.1 point

I've been wanting this basic feature for such a LONG, LONG time and pretty sure I asked before. I want to say it was in a long time ago, but was removed for some reason. I used to hand edit the JS files, but they changed a while back and I just decided to stop doing it since I upgrade often and just want things to work without me tinkering on something. But please add some type of shortcut to playlist items' detail page! At the very top of the 3 dot flyout menu, you show an image, the title and year of the item... just add a hyperlink to that area since it is already there and really isn't doing anything useful. PLEASE ADD THIS! Thanks! j1 point

I have noticed this as well with the current version, and previous versions as well. My TV audio goes from 0 to 100. When using the cable box, we generally have the TV volume at 8-10. When using Prime video app on the shield, we generally have the TV volume at 10-12. When using Emby on the shield, we generally have the TV volume at 50-60. The shield volume level stays at about 50% for all cases above. Hasn't been a problem, except for the times people are sleeping in the house and someone (usually me) changes the TV source from the shield to the cable box without lowering the volume first I'l check the shield to see if I can find a audio option to always send stereo and see if that helps. But all IPTV channels and movies etc behave the same. I doubt every one of them is 5.1.1 point
