  1. @neik - Give the new release a go (1.0.0.1 - in the catalog) as this should fix your errorcode issues (we hope!). A really odd issue that we tracked down - the code was holding the previous errorlevel and then applying for the rest of the batch. Now it should just remove that item from the list and re-try it again on the next schedule. Let us know

  2. I love the additional subfolders for Movie Extras (eg, Shorts, Scenes, Interviews, etc.)! I would like to propose an additional folder: "Galleries". Within the Galleries folder the user would place subfolders (only one level of nesting) and each subfolder could contain any images the user chooses. Then, Emby would display the subfolder name as an Extra (in Emby Theater) and opening that extra would launch an image gallery of the containing images. For example: Movies\Disney\The Sword In The Stone (1963)\Galleries\Scrapbook Movies\Disney\The Sword In The Stone (1963)\Galleries\Film Facts "Scrapbook" is what would be listed among other Extras in Emby Theater, and the Scrapbook folder contains various images to be displayed in a slideshow that the user can navigate with their left/right arrows. This feature request is motivated by the following related post: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/55912-video-ts-folder-no-longer-recognized-in-movie-extras-folder/ Basically, sometimes there are extras such as image galleries and text content which are only available via the DVD menu. I have found that I can use FFMPEG to extract all the frames from a video file, and so use that on the appropriate VOB file from the original DVD. Then I can use VisiPics to delete all the duplicates, resulting in content I can then sort into folders (eg, Concept Art, Storyboards, etc.). All I need is for there to be the above support for a Galleries extras folder, which could contain multiple subfolders (only one level deep), each containing images to be displayed as image galleries in Emby Theater, etc. Thanks for your consideration! PS - If this is something you might like to see implemented, be sure to "Like" this top/first post (as well as any subsequent posts in this thread that highlight particular aspects of what you are interested in) -- "Liking" the top/first post helps the Devs to know how much interest there is in a given Feature Request.

  3. So… had a bit of time to spend on this, i created a side bar menu system and wondering your thoughts on the menu system. the idea is less clicks to where you need to get to. Minimalist concepts have created enormous nesting. Windows 11 is such a huge culprit of this and i hate it. it will be visible but collapsed navigating left from a scroller will expand it navigating right in the menu takes you to the library content, library scrollers. Navigating up would take you to the top menu recommendations will be a great feature me and @rbjtech are working on… iridium exclusive

  5. The way the detection works is by looking at all the episodes and finding a common piece of audio (the intro theme song, presumably). Then, once that common audio is identified, each individual episode is scanned for the occurrence of that specific audio "signature". Where ever that is, is assumed to be the intro for that episode. So, you need multiple episodes in order to determine the "common" audio (theme song). Does that make sense?

  9. My request is to be able to chose to add items to the home screen. Specifically in my case, I am thinking of playlists and collections. Here's some reasons I'd like to see this: The home screen is the first piece of the user interface a person will see when they pull up Emby. I often places movies in bulk into my media library. This sometimes means people never see the new movie I've made available. Happens a lot, actually. While all movies are searchable or can be found by sorting, I believe the interface would benefit from having the customization option. I have created a "Justin Recommends" collection and would LOVE to be able to put that on the home screen. By keeping this optional, no one is forced to use it. If you don't have a use-case, then it's just a feature. If you look at things like Netflix, many movies and shows get "featured" and by doing that, a lot of people end up watching that wouldn't otherwise (imagine if The Tiger King was just another buried documentary you had to hunt for, no one would have heard of it). I appreciate your time. If you've considered this before and decided against for reasons other than difficulty implementing the feature, I'd ask you to reconsider. I believe that being able to customize our servers helps us personalize and tailor them to our audience and our needs, and that helps promote a feeling of ownership. I also truly believe that this small change could lead to some powerful results. In my case, I know that it would be of huge benefit to accomplishing what I would like to do with my Emby server. Thank you.

  10. The QTS version is 4.5.2.1566. The complete message is "[App Center] Failed to install Emby-server-qnap_4.5.4.0_x86_64.qpkg. Try again later." As far as I know there is nothing else running, and this is the only information I can find. I am totally new to working with an NAS or any media server. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  12. Thats no issue, what i can do is actually let the user decide how often they want their images created. Then pass that variable into the process

  13. Yep - easy enough, just specify -skip_interval 5 in the command line. For SDR bif's, then I believe softworks uses a different method for creating the bif, but we can just copy that out the log. Up to @Cheesegeezer as I know he is now making good progress on iridium Maybe modify the existing BIF function with the 'option' for 5 second images (I know how much Dave likes slider options .. lol) - it auto detects the HDR as is anyway - so it would run the non tonemap version on anything else if the '5 second' option was also selected - otherwise it would leave alone.

  17. Correct you would migrate the entire Emby-Server folder from one profile to the other. Or install on second admin account and copy/move the Emby-Server/programdata folder from one account to the other. %appdata%\Emby-Server

  19. Maybe the files are in use and mediainfo skips them because of that? Some process is using them, biftool? When I use the tool the first time, I went Full Monty and performed both mediainfo and bif creation at the same time. Noticed that quite a lot of titles did not get updated mediainfo. Once I stopped the bif process and refreshed the mediainfo only all went A OK.

  20. Finally believe I have it working. I tried removing single quotes and any other programmatic characters from my library, but that made no difference. I think the issue was how I had my Emby library setup. My Movies library was two folders, movies and kids movies. My Kids movies library was just the same kids movies folder. I removed the Kids Movies folder from the Movies library and now it appears to be working as it should. I'm seeing random play back failed messages, but on the 2nd attempt, the file will play, so not sure what that is, but not a big deal.

  21. To add to what Eric has said - the source of the file and location of the Intro within the total fingerprint length (default of 10 minutes for the core) should not matter - as the audio is actually turned into a numbered pattern and it is this which is matched. However, it is not an exact science - so if one source is lets say a 30fps NTSC TV capture using MP3 and another is a 23.976 Blu-Ray capture using HD-Audio - then there is a real possibility that the algorithm used would see the AUDIO as different - maybe the pitch or the tone (the video stream is not used at all) - this is highly likely to be inaudible difference to the human ear, but as computer 'patterns' - they are different 'enough' to be considered not the same. For the best detection results - try and keep the (audio) source the same - but it doesn't need to be a HQ source - consistency is key.

  22. I believe it does, but you don't have the option to turn it off - it always plays the first intro of a new Season. Full comparison list here - https://github.com/chefbennyj1/Emby.IntroSkip.Release/wiki/Feature-List-Plugin-vs-Core

  23. To throw my 2c: While Delete item dialog is self-explanatory, Delete Playlist is really in need of re-wording, in particular when filesystem is mentioned, which IMHO should be completely removed from that dialog: Users in general have no idea where playlist information is stored, as far as majority is concerned it might just as well be database info only, so that dreaded "will be removed from filesystem" can be skipped altogether and noone would be the wiser - those that do know what it refers to will anyhow know that xml will be removed, those that don't know it wouldn't care about it anyway.

  26. Well, the issue isn't that mixed content is using thumbs. It is that it is assuming the primary images may be landscape. So I still think the best course would be to just assume the primary will be poster shaped.

  27. Yes that will be coming.

  31. Nope, that's MediaInfo section, one (or few) ffmpeg-transcode logs would be preferred, you can either download them from Settings>Logs tab or pick them up directly from logs folder, your Dashboard would tell you the path.

  32. Ok so it's been on my to-do list for a while to add an option to indicate a preference for the logo source in the event that both the tuner and epg supply icons. I'll try to get it in soon.

  33. @GloriousPandaThanks for the feedback. Yes the docker documentation fully applies to the TrueNAS chart, and we are completely open to improvements. It's just a PR away on GitHub. Will get in touch with the scale team as 4.8 shouldn't be used there indeed, they probably didn't see it was a prerelease. Points a and c are fair points, we can get some inspiration from truecharts there. As for point b, IMHO permissions should not be handled automatically as there's always the chance to mess sth up. I totally understand why people would want it, but the same result (readable mounts) can be achieved by tweaking UID, GID and GIDLIST and I prefer leaving that part in the user's hand.

  35. Oh, if you switch the "home screen" to "vertical" and then go in "collections" and click on a collection, it works: you get a lits of movies in the collection. The "Continue watching" on the home screen also works in vertical mode: if you click on an episode, you get the detailed page of the episode. Same for "Latest movies", "latest shows",...
