  1. So basically this. I have TV Shows, Movies, and Anime libraries. For anime; I'd prefer to set the default to Japanese with Subtitles. For movies, English and no subs unless forced. For TV Shows, the same. However, Emby only allows one overall setting this for this, for all libraries, instead of just one. I think it'd be a pretty nice little feature.

  2. Hello, It will be great to have the possibility to exclude a library from the global search. For example the Adult content one. Or at least to be able to exclude a tag from the global search and by this I can tag the entire Adult library as Adult and Adult tag to be globally excluded on search. Imagine what happens when you want to search for "Coffee with Ana" movie and you start typing in the search field "Ana" with little kids near you Thanks!

  3. I don't think it's unreasonable request at all. Why not just improve the playback code to actually check if the file exists in the first place before you attempt to play it ? I'm sure a file existence check is quicker to do/report back than a playback attempt/failure cycle ?

  6. Could you allow users to customize the order of movies in collections instead of only having it by alphabetical or by release date? Example: I want to have a collection of Batman movies, both animated and motion pictures but want the motion pictures together followed by all the animated ones. With the current order options, this isn't possible. Thanks!

  7. eg https://thetvdb.com/series/the-equalizer watching s00e01, a special which does not form part of the official watching order (I believe) should not add the show to continue watching ribbon, (if avoidable) tested on beta 4.7.0.38 would the devs agree? thanks for considering

  8. Emby for Samsung 1.2.6 has been released. We hope you enjoy the many new features of this build! Visual Timeline Seeking including Thumbnail Graphics Included in our new 1.2.6 release for Samsung is support for visual seeking. You can Rewind, Fast Forward or Jump to any position in the timeline quickly and easily using our new seeking. Best of all, our new seeking combined with thumbnail graphics makes it easy to pin-point the scene you want to re-watch or queue up. The above pictures shows how easy it is to find a scene you want to watch. You even get the chapter name embedded in the thumbnail picture. Speaking of which, Chapters make use of our thumbnail graphics as well, with their own set of information and use of graphics. The above screenshot shows the use of Thumbnail graphics in our Chapter selector available from the easy to use OSD menu, and that's no bull. This screen demonstrates how easy it is to view the Name, Starting Time as well as Thumbnail showing the action taking place at the start of the Chapter. Improvement to Audio On Screen Display (OSD) You can now toggle the play queue on and off, allowing you to choose between seeing the list, or just the artwork. This change makes room for additional space needed for a new user requested feature that is quite popular. New Use of Graphics Elements This release of Emby for Samsung uses additional graphical elements in subtle ways that sure to please. It still has the classy interface you've come to love but uses additional graphics in a modest manner giving it an elegant and refined look. The screenshots above demonstrates this with a couple simple changes such as changing the title that was text to graphical. Additional useful information is now available right in the OSD besides the chapter shown above. You can now quickly get a look at different things on TV with graphics using On Now or easily bring up a traditional Guide in grid format. These new OSD designs strike a nice balance of providing additional information while still allowing you to easily enjoy the content be watched. Of course that's not all. Emby for Samsung 1.2.6 has additional new features and fixes including: Better remote control and fixes for certain models Improve Performance with Large Libraries Improved Performance of Playlist Detail Screen Improved Audio Book Detail Screen Addition of a Resume Rewind Playback Option (Server version 4.7+ required) Newly added Support for A-Z Picker with Descending Order New Support for A-Z Picker when Sorting by Album or Album Artist Various Improvements for Subtitles New Options for Subtitles allowing you to set Background Color and Opacity Options for Easier Viewing

  11. If you are following the ffmpeg mailing list, you can see that I'm proposing a different solution there. I will submit an appropriate patch when I get to it.

  12. Understand. In that case maybe you can include these patches to the Emby ffmpeg oneday, problem would be easily fixed. 17. ATV must be doing some kind of check as it hides the Play button unless the movie actually exists. You can still play the trailers then. ET gives you the Play button whether it exists or not.

  18. Did quick testing and it did help, make sense not to have 70 Mbps bitrate loaded in advance but wondering if this is related to the TV not been able to handle such heavy task or it's related to the server hardware. Thank you for your support

  19. I’m running on Mac OS .. I don’t think it’s wise to monkey with permissions on any of the folders generated by Mylio, but it’s easy enough to copy the files to a new directory. I suppose that’s the answer - creating a new folder in an existing library & setting up an ‘Automator’ workflow that just copies any new items over to that folder on a schedule. In that scenario I guess there wouldn’t even be a need for this folder sync plugin at all.

  20. Arrrrrgh I hate you sometimes lol This could be knocked up very quickly i think. There isn't much to it. The problem here lies in if a user updates metadata all the chapter points would be lost unless we save all the chapterpoints in a db and update as task. This is where it starts to grow arms and legs. finishing up some last minute tweaks on VantagePoint. i wanna get on with the MediaInfo plugin, need to shelve recommendations until i finish iridium as that way.... we can dictate how the UI is populated and users interact with it... Far too limited with Emby Core access. and i need to nip on with Iridium.

  22. So if i'm understanding this correctly, you have '4K' defined as a genre that you've added to a bunch of movies? If that is the case, and you have chosen 'Genre' as your default landing page for your Films library, then as @Happy2Play suggested, the alpha-picker is not available in that view in the ATV app. If you were to go up a level, and across to the 'Movies' tab (left most) you should see the alpha-picker there if your movies are sorted by 'Name' (which is the very first screenshot in this thread)

  23. Incase any one encountered the same problem There is a patched version of ffmpeg/ffprobe that support long path on windows https://github.com/yt-dlp/FFmpeg-Builds/releases I test ok with https://github.com/yt-dlp/FFmpeg-Builds/releases/download/latest/ffmpeg-n5.0-latest-win64-gpl-shared-5.0.zip You can find more information here: https://trac.ffmpeg.org/ticket/8885

  25. Only time filename is used for movies is in a flat structure environment (no movie folders) that I am aware of. So you could have */Lego DC Comics - Super Heroes - The Flash (2018) [tmdbid=504997]/abcdefg.mkv and identified from folder name.
    1 point
  26. That would be the ultimate workaround as Emby would use id. 29. Hi there! Because our plugin is editing chapters, and not utilizing the latest updates in emby, it is conflicting with the core implementations. Therefore, the plugin will be blocked from loading in the next beta update. We can change the plugin to not alter chapters and cause these conflicts, and it will load again. But for the time being, the plugin and the core versions do not play nice together, so the plugin will be disabled. We'll get it fix as soon as time allows. Thanks! Ben.

  35. Hi, I updated the Samsung App via USB. Everything is fine, excepct that when i am on a movie detail page - the page starts with a padding from the top of 50% - so the there is a lot of space between Title and the top border. Why is this like this?

  36. Thor Love and Thunder (2022).bluray.disc I don't think ATV does it that way. I use stub files mainly so I have a place holder where I can put my ripped version when it arrives, and still watch the trailer now. ATV app hides the play button. I prefer this way for how I use them, but I understand I'm not using it the way it was originally intended. standard Android app does pop up the "insert disc" message which is automatic

  37. 2 different apps pretty much in sync delivered with same feature set. If you look at iOS an Android Mobile it's the same way and mostly the same feature set additions as well. So Yes and it's a good thing to have feature parity across the different apps, not to mention making blog posts easier. LOL

  43. So I thought I'd do a quick experiment - to try and mirror the site below for 4K > 1080p Transcode for Emby & Intel UHD 770 https://www.elpamsoft.com/?p=Plex-Hardware-Transcoding - Video : 68Mbit/sec HEVC 4K Remux (The Godfather - Just happens to be 68Mbit/sec) > 10Mbit/sec h264 1080p - Clients - Various but all forced to 10Mbit/sec - Emby - 4.6.7.0 - Stable Release - Source was local SATA Disk (JBOD) - Audio - AC3 (so direct play/no transcoding required) - No tonemapping (turned off) - No THROTTLE - ie simultaneous continuous transcodes - SINGLE transcode performance = 180 fps. Results - I got to 7 streams before I ran out of clients - but transcoding fps was getting very close to 25 - so probably very close to the limit anyway. GPU - it hit 100% '3D' on the first stream, so not 100% sure what that graph shows - the key thing is memory. Each 4K stream takes about 1.1 GB - so for the 7 streams, I'm up to 7.5GB of memory, but have plenty to play with. I have 64GB, but max here is 32GB. CPU load is low @ 13% overall. With Throttle turned ON (ie transcoding as required to fill the buffer), then it's possible that another 1 or maybe 2 streams can be utilised but of course if the fps drops below 24 then the buffer is no longer being maintained. This is 7 x 68Mbit/sec streams - so nearly 500 Mbit/sec worth of transcoding ! Certainly not bad for an integrated GPU To note - tone mapping knocks down the single stream performance to 140 fps - so ~ 6 streams with tone mapping. @softworkz - FYI
    1 point
  44. Even better - on the UHD770 testing I did, I had 10 x 4K Remux > 1080p transcodes going with tonemapping - so I think you'll have no issues at all with the proposed workloads.

  45. I purchased Emby many years ago on what looked like many great promises on improvements, such as this. But I'm beginning to regret paying for this when it seems like nothing new has been added. Updates are very sparse.
    1 point
  46. So you are also part of the official emby team but you need to create plugins all by yourself without the rest of the emby team behind you? Actually it's shameful that the best plugin of the year (your intro skip plugin) was not made by the official developers and you can watch feature requests go by for years and never get implemented. Luke's answers when you ask for a status seem like they are pre-programmed sentences that he has bound to keys on his keyboard. I'm surprised there are no memes about this yet. Security related stuff is not done either. User permission revamp should have been implemented long ago as he always announces. As well as many other things that have been open for years, enough demand is there but no one seems to be interested. You have to help yourself out with powershell scripts and the like (sometimes not even 20 lines) that solve the whole request. It is not always as much work as we are led to believe here.

  47. I found this searching for the exact issue OP has. I have a large? library of ~25k songs and genre > artist - album is how I slice it up on every other music platform. Emby is seriously lacking in customization here, nevermind that it's the only music software I've encountered that trips up on vertical separators (|) in genre names and splits them.
