Could we get swipe gesture functionally in the mobile apps that would enable adjustments of audio volume, screen brightness and playback position? @@Luke stated in a previous post (https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/49933-replaygain-music-support/) adding support for this could easily be done for at least the theater client seeing as the player used already supports replaygain. I'm making this feature request in hopes that this support is added, as I have no dev experience myself

It "might" be the case that what you used before is the precursor of the current Emby, and I most believe this is true. However at the time of MediaBroser coming into existence there was at least one and maybe several other programs of the same name and at least one came into existence before Emby's entry. At about the time that Emby dropped the name, mostly, MediaBrowser was being use by others. That may or may not have had an impact on the decision to change their name but, at the time and from someone that was not on the inside, I really think there was some pressure for a name change. Maybe Emby stands for "Enhanced Media Browser for You" but, unless someone at Emby actually says what it means, or was intended to mean, we may never really know the "Truth." But, even then, Truth is subjective.

Yes, I was a bit surprised both at the speed and response. However, the sample I gave them was based on their demo player and it was very obvious when you test it on two different platforms. Let's see what the response is from their engineers.

I've just noticed the 'play all from here' option is now present in Emby for Android TV. Thank you for adding this, I'm very pleased to have this feature now.

They are in test at the moment and I should have a very stable release in the plugin catalog over the weekend. @Luke thanks for the headsup. It’s the damn codecs, couldn’t fix with nugets, however, the string that is returned from the Mediastreams, has the type, codec and displaytitle all in the string. So can imagine thats what making it fail as it can’t handle a specific codec. So ive done some string manipulation to get get just the codec info and It’ll work.

Ah, THAT was the problem! I found it now! Obviously it should be under the CC icon like everything else subtitle related, someone really thought a bit backwards here. Also, would it be possible for the subtitle correction window not be really that big? Often you have to have it up for a while until you get the text entirely in sync, it's quite annoying having that big window in the middle of the screen then...

Ya, MEL is pretty much just an empty EL file to be compatible with profile 7. So, all you see anyway is the RPU metadata which is the dynamic scene changes somewhat like HDR10+ For the few DV discs that have a full enhanced layer the FEL layer is supposed to contain the difference between 10-bit and 12-bit color image so when combining the FEL with the 10-bit base layer you get 12-bit colors. An Oppo is one of the few devices that I'm aware can actually use the FEL in digital (folder format) though. It is very confusing.

Can't remember for sure, but Kodi wasn't up and running on my Shield TV for most of the time when the updates happened. It was when it synced to the server that the duplicate episode(s) appeared.

its been a long time but ill update this topic anyway the issue was not isp-magic, not the fibre or firewall or anything you would think of not even the router BUT it was the modem idk why but after enabling hardware-acceleration i am able to get the fullbandwith not only on "some" speedtest but also on regular fileuploads and, yes, streams from emby

They don't need to remaster it. From what I understand they use the same master as the people creating UHD do for the base layer. The RPU is just metadata. Combine the two and you get DV profile 8.1. They just don't have the EL. Technically, that's all you're getting with profile 7 from Makemkv too though. Unless you buy something like an Oppo you aren't playing the enhanced layer of profile 7 either. Whether a mkv has FEL or MEL shouldn't make a difference because things like the Shield ignore the EL and just use the RPU. So, converting profile 7 RPU to profile 8.1 RPU should look similar on a Shield or something else that supports profile 8.1. The Shield would need a second HEVC decoder in order to play the enhanced layer. You would probably have to convert it back to dual track also. Combining the two layers was a hack too in order to get things like the Shield to at least play the RPU along with the BL while maintaining the EL for future. Ya, most of my HDR10+ have DV also. I'll convert them eventually. Halo was the first show I started watching which was HDR10+ only

Not all profile 8.1 is a hack so we can't always assume this. Dolby created profile 8.1 to be used by very high-speed download streaming services like Sony's Bravia Core. They take the same master used for the UHD and add a DV RPU just like the people on the web are doing (though I'm sure they use different tools). You can search for "BCORE" in the name if you want a test profile 8.1 file. They will be mostly Sony titles obviously. To use Bravia Core It is recommended you have a 115 mbps connection as the bitrate of some movies is rather high just like UHD BRAVIA CORE - Enjoy Movies Included with Sony's BRAVIA XR TVs | Sony US

One hint for all where it does not work. For my Samsung TV I had to change the name of the file userwidget/emby.tmg to userwidget.tmg and put this file into the root folder. Than the installation went fine.

OK, After long time spend, problem had been rectified. It was a corrupt folder, which stopped emby scanning totally. I just skipped that folder while copying other files in another new folder, & It started working. Thanks all for inputs.

On the LG it's not in the subtitle menu but in the general settings under the cog icon. I'm checking the exact same files with the exact same server with the exact same subtitles. It's not there.

Why i s every feature on emby "hardcoded". Why admin cant decide and turn off on some option. Like in this case..search library options, click what libraries you want to be searched and what not, than every emby admin can decide. You guys need to stop introducing new features that are hardcoded, we need options for those features. Now we have discussions on who likes what, this is not a hair saloon, this is software and we (emby users and admins) need options to turn off / on something and not to discuss what is the best feature and how to implement it, because always someone will disagree.

Thanks for the clarification. Now with that said, all of these should still be identified and monitored using appropriate tools to avoid downtime. That doesn't negate the merit of your feature request (though like @GrimReaper, I wouldn't want this as a new default mode), just that there are other steps that should also be taken to improve QoL/UX.

With DSM 7 the emby account is now a system internal user. Make sure you click the drop down box when setting permissions on your shared folder(s)

Hi. This is a generally good idea but the reason it hasn't made it to the top of the list yet is because it is an operation that is usually done once and then very rarely if ever again. So many other features bring benefits much more often that they end up taking priority. Still a good idea though.
